I really don't get how you can drink a lethal amount of caffeine even if it's a sugary drink, you're gonna have fucking panic attacks just drinking 400mg of caffeine in a few minutes, surely you'd slow down after your heart starts racing and you start feeling high strung over everything
>>22009505 who expects a cup of lemonade to have the equivalent caffeine of four cups of coffee? most people don't know what 390mg of caffeine means.
soda used to be seen as an energy boost when it only had like 40mg of caffeine per 12oz, and that's not even condering that a serving of soda used to be 6oz so it was basically like a cup of green tea. people are going way overboard on caffeine these days and it's causing difficulties trying to cram it all up my ass.
>have lifelong heart condition >do not check what "charged lemonade" is >die >panera removes it, never sells it again I will never be able slam heart-stoppingly caffeinated lemonade with my lunch. its so over caffeine bros
>>22009505 Such a good deal with the Unlimited Sip Club. Only reason to have that membership honestly. Even after the girl died they still sold it, but they sold it from behind the counter like it was a fucking firearm.
>>22009507 >Existing high blood pressure >Chromosomal disorder >Avoided energy drinks >Consumed three larger servings back-to-back >Have heart attack At least for the middle-aged guy that died, it wasn't so much from a lethal amount of caffeine but the sudden influx of caffeine just fucked his already weak heart Just like alcoholics. A lot of time they don't die from "too much booze", but shit like a heart attack or kidney disease that was made worse by the vodka.
>>22009507 I remember I had the strawberry mint for the first time before the deaths, halfway through I was jittery and anxious I knew it was fucking LOADED with caffeine since I'm normally fine with a daily energy drink, was impossible to finish because it tasted like ass warm and watered down with melted ice
>>22009507 back when I was younger and more impulsive I would buy caffeine-enhanced pre-workout powders and one time I took too much and my skin was tingling all day and I felt like I was having a prolonged multi-hour heart attack, concentrated caffeine is no joke, I'd like to see the op chug a liter of that stuff and see if he's still a tough guy
>>22009993 The explosion of phones and digital entertainment has been a disaster for humanity. People sleep less and have way more fragmented sleep now. The fix for that is dumping caffeine in your body.
>>22009993 Welcome to the new upside down world of new addiction tolerance. Smoking cigarettes and drinking black coffee bad but vaping poison and normalizing having millenials/zooms/alpha starting in their preteens drink 2 monser/day is cool.
>>22009536 It's only about 10% more caffeine by volume. But it doesn't have the built in moderation that sipping hot coffee does compared to chugging a refreshing cold lemonade, likely while you're walking back and forth through hot parking lots.
>>22009993 Keep the slaves working longer, sleeping less, and hopped up on chemicals to keep them working harder.
>>22009507 I drink a 200mg of caffeine energy drink in one gulp, if they mixed up the bags that day and put 2000mg in it I wouldn't know I was in for some pain for like 20 minutes.
>>22009536 I was going to agree that it's like twice minimum what you'd get in a "strong" energy drink, but the serving size is nearly a litre. So yeah 3 cups of coffee in volume
>>22009907 Caffeine is literally the worst drug for overdosing (I don't mean like a real OD, but merely deciding to blast like 450mg instead of 200mg), literally zero extra benefit and yeah you get shit like itchy fucking eyeballs. Worse than moderately over abusing actual amphetamines or "real" stimulants (I'm sure they eventually win out in long term harm at comensurate overusage though)
>>22009993 >trend of caffeinating everything >trend You missed the outright moral panic of energy drinks and alco-pops in the 90s and early 2000s. Look up Four loko sometime.
>>22010084 Severe caffeine overdose is a worse experience than datura. I've tried both. The hallucinations might be more real on datura but take 5 grams of caffeine then it's your whole week full of panicky paranoia and seeing shadowmen. it just lasts and lasts.
>>22010217 >it's your whole week full of panicky paranoia and seeing shadowmen. what?? caffeine has a short half life. the OD symptoms are basically done after an hour
>>22010227 that's not how it works. there's a reason people go through days or weeks of withdrawal symptoms when they suddenly stop caffeine. caffeine has a six hour half life anyway, maybe you're thinking of nicotine which is shorter. but it also breaks down into things that have longer half lives and the effects it had on your body don't just immediately disappear.
>>22010217 >take 5 grams of caffeine then it's your whole week full of panicky paranoia and seeing shadowmen Hey bro, just because you can't handle your shit don't project your gay fantasies onto me
>>22010259 Get out of your house more, I can't count enough times I was patronized by some tard about how black coffee is "bad for your teeth or "makes your breath smell bad" or "did you know black coffee causes ulcers" bullshit while minding my own business.
>>22009788 I actually tried this once, I added 1/32 teaspoon of anhydrous caffeine to a liter of water. Made the water actually undrinkable, didn't even get the first sip down. Pure caffeine is incredibly bitter.
>>22009507 Anon how quickly do you think caffeine is absorbed into the bloodstream? Even on an empty stomach you'd have a good thirty minutes from your first sip before you felt anything at all. Plenty of time to slam an entire cup of something you thought was regular lemonade
>>22010321 >I can't count enough times I was patronized So we know it has happened more than 5 times, but then again this is just one guy we're talking about.
>>22009704 Imagine the kind of chaotic world it would be if you could buy a firearm from the counter of a Panera bread. Think of all of the menopausal women shooting each other in the parking lot over petty squabbles. Sounds fun.
>>22013593 It is a lot of caffeine if you're just a lil guy. For me, this is barely enough to last me until lunch time. Imagine how much more bigger my penis is than yours.
I was happily consuming energy drinks up until late last year when I started getting horrible bloating. I gave up artificial sweeteners and that seemed to do the trick (until I later found out fructans were also giving me trouble) and as a consequence I gave up most caffeine as well. I don't miss it that much but I do get a bit sleepy in the afternoon.
>>22010321 You're very weak. This isn't an insult, by the way. You're just a weak person. It was weakness that brought you to black coffee, and it is weakness that stops you from defending your choice.
>>22013770 It's kind of normal to get a bit tired in the afternoon. You could try just a sweet drink for some energy or a very small amount of caffeine.
A study I looked at a long time ago said as little as 25mg of caffeine is enough to cause a measurable boost in cognition and physical activity assuming you aren't starting from an already high tolerance, which is about the amount you get in a small normal strength cup of green tea. But people are having 10x that amount or more sometimes multiple times a day and it ends up just wearing you out and making it harder to stop.
>>22011850 Nurses get through their shifts knowing that they can literally just decide to demand higher pay and the government and society bend over backwards to give them more money
>>22014381 apparently she had long QT syndrome which is often genetic you stupid cocksucker. Now imagine someone that consumes very little caffeine downing nearly 400mg in the same time most people take to drink a normal cup of coffee.
>>22015058 >consequences of drinking lemonade >having to do research before drinking lemonade about drug dosage anon i'm gonna say this as nicely as possible but
>>22015061 None of that even matters for a healthy kid or adult. People outside of that range know whether high caffeine is a problem for them. If you have to do research, you likely suffer from a mental disability. 2 monsters is 400mg of caffeine. People pound a 6 pack or more during work.
>>22015096 nah there were issues with the way panera did this. it's not the first time a drink like this has caused too many problems to ignore. adding stimulants to food is risky. at least with something like monster more people mostly know what to expect but it's still caused problems too.
>People pound a 6 pack or more during work. that's an extreme outlier and not a good representation for what the average person can tolerate without problems, and if someone is having 1200mg+ of caffeine per day they're still likely experiencing side effects
>>22009505 i get having high caffeine concentration in a single serving can, but if im getting a drink i can have large volumes of, i'd like the caffeine to be spread out so i can drink a lot
>>22015127 people who regularly consume that much just start needing it to function normally like any other addiction and if they stop consuming caffeine for even a short while they'll usually have terrible headaches and become quite irritable
How does this make you die? Did she drink like 5 of them in a row? I just figured out how much caffeine I'm getting with my coffee and its like 1000 mg a day lol
>>22010943 >>22011366 >dispenser says in even smaller text "caffeine is an approximate amount" People don't read "noise" which is what text turns into when it's gradually scaled down and you're in a social situation. This is a very well documented phenomenon. It is done on purpose for marketing and manipulation all the time. It should be written in big letters clearly contrasting against all the other text if it's something that should be treated with care.
>>22009507 One of the people who Panera Bread murdered with caffeine was literally a retarded guy. Not like the colloquial "haha he's retarded" but like actually mentally disabled. How's a retarded man going to know to stop drinking the delicious fountain lemonade? He probably didn't even know what caffeine is or that too much can be lethal. The other person who was murdered by Panera Bread had a heart condition as other anons have said but she wasn't literally retarded and should have known not to drink a super caffeinated beverage.
