>>22011436 sometimes chips come with no salt on them to begin with. i remember getting little blue packets of salt inside the bag and you could sprinkle it in..or not.
>>22011676 >this was common in Ireland, Tayto brand. RUBBISH
It was Smiths crisps that did this and they are British, that why I questioned the anon because we don't call them chips.
>Oh muh Ireland heritage
You do realise that Britain invented them don't you? Ignore the silly stories of some American inventing them in a made up tale (Americans do this all the time).
>>22011705 >>22011463 Yeah, what you don't remember is that they also brought out a cheese and onion (and other flavours) version of salt & shake. Because you're a shitweasel
>>22012451 It was Smiths in the UK that did it originally in the 1920s - don't know when they stopped doing it but they brought it back again in the late 70s and 80s. I was hostile before because the anon called them chips, so I naturally assumed it was an american making up stories (as usual) I think one did say it was popular in Ireland which again is an american lie.
I am a bit older and I remember the 70s very well, crisps were only 2Pence a bag (and we got more of them).
The other thing that annoys me is Walkers crisps insisting that salt and vinegar was always in green packets with cheese and onion being in dark blue . . . . .I think this is a lie but I can't prove it.
The main crisp companies at the time was Golden Wonder and Smiths plus a few others like Chipmunk, etc. who all used the reverse on those flavours.
>>22012536 >. I was hostile before because the anon called them chips, so I naturally assumed it was an american making up stories (as usual) nah that was me. im a bong living in canada, so my language has become progressively more and more adulterated. >I think this is a lie but I can't prove the salt DEFINITELY came in blue packets when i was a wee lad in the UK during the 80s. noo doot aboot it eh.
>>22012922 Yeah definitely. I'm a 45 year old sole parent and my kid is pretty young and I don't have much of a 'support network', so I may as well shitpost on here. Imagine being young and wasting your time here. The mind boggles.
