this image is edited. an air fryer wouldn't be able to heat up a container of oil hot enough to deep fry food. The heat transfer in a air fryer is done mainly through convection (hot air circulating around the food) and thermal radiation (you know when you look through a oven door you can feel the heat on your face even tho the door is closed, that's infrared radiation).
