I used to get a jumbo bag of the cheapest no brand cookies and a bottle of no brand cola and I survived of cookies and coffee for a couple of days
Now I keep enough food in the freezer for two weeks in case of emergency
I keep
Either a big pile of schnitzel or a big pile of homemade burger patties
Either chilli or soup
Dumplings or pork buns
Either a couple of frozen chicken breasts or some frozen pork
I also keep pasta and tomato sauce in the shelf, a ton of flour and yeast for baking plus milk and butter and a dicen eggs for baking and rice
So I can do pretty well for myself with no money

Probably take out when I run out of food but then a low point sort of becomes a high point because I get to eat delicious pizza/Mcdonalds/whatever is being promoted/discounted on Uber Eats.
To add some positivity to this thread I will also share things I would eat at a high point. Barbecue with friends during summer: I always buy a whole fish and throw it on the grill stuffed with some lemon wedges and herbs. (my favorite parts are the cheeks and eyes) Some people get really mad if you stink the grill up with fish but idgaf!!!

Mmm, I'm the opposite of an emotional eater. If I get sad I barely eat anything but if I was an emotional eater, binging on tiramisu sounds pretty nice.

I get plenty of buy 1 get 1 free promotions + 20-60% off depending on how lucky I am. I think it's a location thing or something but Uber Eats is fairly cheap for me if I only use it when I get promos. + I have some savings so I don't have to feel guilty about spending €20 on a food order.

when i ran out of money and my credit card finally stopped working i ate a spoon of peanut butter per meal cause that's what I had left and I didn't plan properly.
It's weirdly gross just raw dogging peanut butter even though i love it in pretty much everything.
That was a long time ago though

Sad and coping: mac or lazy charcuterie
Sad and not coping: handfuls of cereal, popcorn, plain cheese
Poor: Japan eggs - but I love that meal desu. It's basically caramelized onions, deglazed with ponzu, and fried eggs over rice.

I binge. And the worst part is I binge takeout. So I'll spend $100 on Uber eats easily. And often a separate order just for sweets too. There's this place near me that does a horchata boba, I'm probably putting those people through college with how much I order.
