The ultimate intimacy, to become one with another being in body, mind and soul. All kinds of merging welcome from either magical, tech, medical surgeries, or slimegirls.

I love fusion, but it's pretty hard to come by. It's one of things that I think really needs good characters and dialogue, which you can never find in a one off image.
>>11504874
It's really good. I stopped reading awhile ago, I should try to catch up.

Agreed. I wish more works were made based around the premise. I think the most famous ones are Steven Universe, Soul Eater and Shadows House. It has so much potential

Correct me if I'm wrong, but soul eater didn't have any fusion, did it? Excellent transformation into weapons, telepathy and soul bond stuff to bring the characters closer, possession/assimilation with Medusa, parasite stuff with Crona and Ragnarok, there is a lot of /d/eviant material (I'm especially annoyed there isn't a good doujin set after the ending's reality shift) but no fusion specifically. Some moments can feel a lot like it, with Maka connecting to Chrona's soul, but nobody ever properly shares a body.

Dragon ball, digimon, fear and hunger, I can think of lots of examples of fusion that just don't have the right details to make it interesting. I hate it when fusion is treated like it's just a power up, and we get no insight into how the fused character thinks and feels now that it's personality and memories are mixed. Sometimes a story will pay lip service to how intimate and all consuming fusion is for the characters involved, but say nothing about what it's actually like. It's horrible that the best example right now is Steven Universe, because Steven Universe is otherwise absolutely awful.
A fusion is not the two component characters doing something together, it's a wholly new character, and the most common mistake I see writers make about them is skipping introducing the new fused character, defining who they are and what they're about.

Pyra and Mythra have a pretty good example of fusion, though I think you have to read into it a lot to make it work. It's unclear how much is there and how much is in my head, you could argue for hours about what Pyra and Mythra really are before the fusion even happens.

In Dragon ball i think fusion is just two people merging and any personality traits that clash with each other are just suppressed and set aside until the fusion ends. It really is just a fighting technique that is meant to create the perfect fighting warrior. Its why none of the fusions seem to clash with themselves or have any of the personal weaknesses of the people being used as fusion components.
With digimon dna digivolution i think it was called seems more like the trainer and there partner are acting like a Gundam and there pilot. Or at the vary least the trainer is acting like a power core for there partner to power them up as best they can with there own body.
And in fear and hunger the protagonists are using a forbidden occult ritual of the eldritch mother goddess from the dawn of creation to literally fuck themselves into one body so that they can grow back the limbs they lost while fighting monsters in the darkness. And while that is the closest to what we are looking for it is just to horror coded to match what we want from it.
>>
>>11506248
Horror coding can be fine, I mean, the bubblegum legion from the OP is pretty horrific. The bigger problem is that the marriages don't say or do anything, and show no traces of the component characters. It's so close to something I'd like, but it's denied because of the practical limitation that they can't square the amount of characters in the game. Maybe that's for the better though, because they are pretty ugly and horrific.

Now that i think about it would you consider Cell absorbing the android and transforming into his perfect form a form of merging? Or no? I mean they do seem to change cells personality every time he takes in an android.
Also what do you think about say a man or woman absorbing a other person into there body and using them as a power source like fuel or into a living power core that they keep trapped in there body? Somewhat like what Cell does to his victim's but far more gentle to the one being absorbed and not likely to kill them. Just keep them alive forever inside there host or until the absorber finds someone stronger or better to feed off of and they free there victim and replace them with a new one.
Would that be seen as a form of merging or fusion or is it just vore?

Complicated question, I went and made a chart, though I'm not sure it gets me any closer to an satisfying answer. I guess terminology hasn't been developed enough to cleanly separate categories here. Fusion and absorption/assimilation may be on a spectrum together, with the more a dominant personality overrides the weaker/restrained will of the other components, the closer it is to assimilation, and the more all personalities are evenly mixed the closer it is to fusion. Sometimes it seems like an assimilating character isn't actually integrating the personality of the characters they absorb, and more like they're selectively copying and discarding what's useful to them, but it can be so hard to tell.
I think the big defining part of fusion, and the part that makes it romantic to me is that both characters know they're surrendering themself to the will and personality of the other. Assimilation can sometimes have vibes like that, but more often is about domination which I enjoy less.
There's also power cell stuff, and things like sentient fat, cock tf, horse butt tf, ect where there isn't any contact between the character's minds even though they end up sharing a body together. That's usually called assimilation too, but I don't think it's anything like the previous kind. Some kinds of it probably still belong ITT though.
There's also something like a reverse possession, where a character lends another their spirit/powers, but the character that receives keeps their body and complete control over it. Think like Zelda giving Midna her spirit so she could stay in the light world, or someone making a pact with a magical spirit to gain it's powers. I guess Naruto also kind of fits in this category?
It's all very fuzzy, and I don't think I'm any closer to a functioning definition of fusion.

There's certainly a tendency there. Fusion takes trust, knowing each other, being on the same wavelength. Assimilation only needs to take someone's will away. Given the choice, of course heroes will always take fusion and villains will always take assimilation, but characters often don't get to choose how their powers work.
Of the top of my head, Kriby and Rimuru from the slime isekai definitely both have assimilation powers despite being heroic. I can't think of any examples of villains fusing though. Maybe Nyx from Persona 3? That feels like a big stretch. If there is a case of a villain fusing with someone, they most likely were trying to take control of them, only to be met by an unexpectedly strong will.
>>
>>
>>
>>
>>11506399
Kriby and Rimuru feel more like they just have eating powers if i am being honest. What they eat just dies after they consume it or them and they copy the abilities of there prey in a you are what you eat kind of way. Kriby loves and is controlled by food and Rimuru ability's are defined by the sin of gluttony after all. So they are more like food heroes rather than absorption heroes. They eat food is there power even if that food used to be a person before it was eaten.
Absorption/assimilation is defined by the fact what is being taken into the absorber is a person and will always be a person no matter how long or how deeply that person remains trapped in the body of there absorber.
Food eating powers is all about dehumanizing and destroying the thing that is eaten. Most of the time with the authors insistents the person being eaten had it coming and does not deserve there humanity, life, or even individuality anymore. While absorption/assimilation is all about how the vary real humanity and soul of the one being absorbed is being abused and violated by a vile monster or an even more vile person that is acting like a heartless demon.

Completely agree. I think there's so much unexplored potential there!

So would it be like in Pacific Rim where you need two pilots working together to control a giant robot? Only it is two people piloting a super human body? Because i think that is what dna digivolution is trying to pull off.

What would be your ideal plot for a fusion doujin? If there aren't many pictures, we can share ideas.
>A girl dating a boy finds out he has a secret admirer, when she appears before her and forces her into a permanent fusion. The boy is conflicted knowing his girlfriend would never choose to fuse with his crazy admirer, but also that the girl he loves is inside of the fusion. Eventually he's successfully seduced.
>A girl makes a seemingly normal magical girl contract with a magical spirit that can fuse with her, and briefly enjoys the transforming heroine life before realizing that each time she transforms and reverts, her body and personality permanently adjust to be more like her magical girl form. Eventually she gives in to it completely, accepting her magical girl persona as her only one.
>A beautiful and fit girl needs to fuse with an intelligent and cute girl for some matter of necessity, but after they unfuse, both of them can't forget the experience of being together as one incredible, perfect woman. Despite previously being friends, their relationship is consumed with bitter envy for eachother's talents that is only relived when they hate-fuck each other then fuse.

I lean towards a more romance oriented story, about a couple fantasizing of becoming one. Perhaps even a world where that's the norm and expected rite of age, so you feel afraid of being unable to merge with anyone and being left alone, and the sheer joy when you find someone you can properly couple with.
If I wrote it, it'd be a work focused around each individual's hangups and ideas, and how it impacts them baring each other completely in the most intimate act of fusion.

>fantasy hero returns home with the harem he naturally accrued during his trip, excited to introduce his wives to his family
>while he was out doing fantasy hero things though, the king banned polygamy because he gets zero bitches
>hero is distressed because he'd have to keep only one of his beloved wives and send the rest away
>luckily, his mage wife happens to know the perfect spell for this!

Falin's transformation from dungeon Meshi is another great fusion. I can't help but imagine another ending for her, the dragon and girl living in harmony together free from the dungeon.
Also, this is why /d/ needs spoilers.

I like this one the most, to slowly lose more and more of yourself every time you transform but suddenly noticing you care less and less. Also the divide between the magical world and the mundane, and finding that the more you deal with magic, the more you struggle being "normal".
Can also work with changelings since the power of fae tends to leave people changed which is what happens here.

Sounds like Steven Universe in a way.

A villainous character dates, and deliberately fuses with other characters as a means to attain something they have (be that physical traits, or youth, or so they can accumulate skills, or financial resources by merging with more and more people). Eventually their will is overpowered by a new, particularly wilful merge.
A couple in love fuses accidentally during sex, becoming a new person and an aggregate of the two. They navigate the world, trying to assemble a life that feels true to them from the remnants of their "parents."
>>
>>11507598

Hears an idea for a story if anyone wants to use it.
Sailor Moon is disappointed in how plain and flat her body is and wishes she were sexier. And her wish is granted when she finds out she has a new power. As the leader of the sailor scouts she has the power to absorb any other sailor guardian into herself to take everything they have for herself. Form there powers, mind, bodies, and even there souls to empower and improve herself.
So she starts absorbing the other sailor scouts one by one so that she can steal there bodies and good looks so sailor moon can give herself the body of her dreams at the cost of her own friends. And the last scene should be of sailor moon looking herself over while feeling up her new and improved gigantic tits while saying that tuxedo mask will fall in love with her all over again just by looking at her once.

Dual voice
Like in Dragon Ball of course and other media like Digimon. Gives an emphasis that you're not just tangling with a singular being created from two or more people joined as one. And strangely enough, I kinda find it attractive, especially with female fusions.

What about something like this? It's from an old /d/rawthread request of mine.
>Requesting scenario: A man and a woman are combined then separated into identical clones that are full package futa with physical attributes in-between the two (e.g. hair length, hair/eye/skin color, weight (one is fat, the other is skinny, the futa is a just a little chubby) etc.). The one that used to be the woman checks out her new dick and balls and the one that used to be the man checks out his new tits and vag.
>The setup can be quick doodles, just enough to establish the scenario, and the method (e.g. science gun zapping them, magic spell, alien abduction, slime creature absorbing them then spitting them out, etc.) can be artist's choice.
There's basically nothing like it that I can find.
