Apparently the peaky feat of the bike race comes at a random non-inherited level. Grind some ecopos, buy whip of egg, savescum to get a fertilized egg, savescum to incubate a peaky 1 specimen. Real rideable brum brum obtained.
>>50900265 I've been getting them from the triceratops and t-rex monsters that I accidentally kill while farming for dragon meat in the Dragon's Nest nefia. I don't know if there are any other dinosaur fossils besides these two, but if there are I really want to add them to my collection.
What's your personal preference while playing Elin/Elona. For me it's always equipping my starting Little Girl with >Wings >Red Gauntlet >Emerald/green heavy armor >Dragonslayer sword In every play through
>>50901289 in elin I always get the white vixen because I require a fox wife or I will surely die. it is the worst fucking favor grind in the game though and I've always ditched kizuami immediately after for a god that gives an artifact I actually want to use like yevan or opatos. maybe next time I'll try the no damage support bitch thing but I just don't see it being all that fun. so in that respect another personal preference is not being reliant on pets and having a strong martial PC in elona(+) I always got the murder knight because he's the fucking coolest. I hope the elonaplus oddities mod makes him recruitable at some point. honestly I barely remember my vanilla elona experience. it was ages ago before plus even existed and I basically just played a golem claymore and died a lot and did not want to bother with farming
I'm grateful to elin for having pretty good food from innkeepers. the herb-in circus was very annoying
>>50902498 Innkeeper food is decent enough for people who get to level 50, play the storylines and put it down. One doesn't ever have to interact with farming if one doesn't ever want to.
>>50902498 It's not like you sit out fights entirely. You've got buffs, debuffs, healing, summons, miasmas... You're a massive force multiplier for your squad. Nothing wrong with wanting to do the fighting yourself, though. I'm doing a solo vampire run myself right now. (Blood is even better than innkeeper food.)
>>50902498 >>50903505 I am pretty sure a lot of players click auto-combat anyways for most fights. Does it matter if it's the PC or pets if the game plays itself regardless?
>>50903746 I just sell everything out of a container. (You have to put in a non-sellable item for that, so I keep my Little Capture Ball reserve in there.)
>>50903835 Every time I accidentally use it, it just spams some spell I've completely neglected until I run out of stock/mana or the target is dead. I'm sure you can set it up right, but I combat is like the one part of the game I would never want to automate anyway
>>50903835 i always use it because when you mess with the settings a little it's super convenient to just right click and watch my character fight through 10 dudes also i read that it's supposed to be really strong if you want to do void stuff because the skill reduces the damage you take when you're in auto combat
>>50903844 there's a strategy tab in the character panel where you can at the very least set what strategy you want to use, the default is archer which makes you prioritise attacking with ranged weapons
I don't play nightly, but I'm kind of curious about those grails. At least on paper it seems like dual wielding cups could be a decent melee choice for a caster if I understand how they work correctly, at least until you say fuck it and just use artifact staves
>>50904107 Seems like all that would really take is having a button to enter the tent carried in inventory from the map, similar to the bed in inventory one
>>50899439 does Elder Race and Sagittarius' elemental piercing stack? It sucks that Elder Race uses 2 slots but it might be worth it if it works with the other genes.
>>50905105 seems kinda nice to throw on your mount for the swim assuming they eventually get added to a boss or unique npc you can kill for it instead of spending all those medals
Living weapon wen? >>50901289 Elona >Let's Ragnarok! >Impregnating the Queen, Shena, and all them female NPCs with alien babies >Grabbing a shitton of cursed flying scrolls to make my sword denser than a neutron star >Houzanha-ing the boss floor, spamming all of my buffs, then oneshotting the boss Elin >HAMMER ALCHEMY >Base building, coz I've been neglecting my base for ten fucking years >Annual Dragon Nest Holocaust for that sweet, sweet marbled meat of [Chaos Dragon]
>>50905816 but I've already finished final quest of act 3!? so how to increase my progress? Since this is main quest, shouldn't act 4 be released by now?
>>50905974 You haven't. The final quest is beating Jaldabaoth for real. If you are where I think you are, take the light of origin norne gave you and go for a spin in Loyter's mind.
>>50906406 the one that gets proper gameplay footage and visual aids related to the race instead of stock footage from other playthroughs with word salad tier Kevin Smith rants
>>50906804 I guess that could make Azrasizzle a bit easier for melee types. No idea about the wider implications. Maybe dressing up in sapphire could be good then?
>>50907138 i would not personally have elder race on myself because 2 slot gene sucks. 2 layers of res piercing is mostly enough since you use sword spell anyway. If you want big damage try old fox lineage or rapid cast, they are cheap
>>50906804 >Experimental. Since there is no way to freely add weapon enchants to armor, this should be fine, but please let us know if you find any exploits. I think it's been long enough that you should know by now that yet another exploit will be found with this
it's a little lame that the first weapon enchant precious armour he did was man bane gimme some cool precious gloves that give you a spell invoke, spell invokes are cool
>>50907279 I really do wonder what it will be like if he adds normal gene editing for player characters. I guess I could already experience it with a slime run, but I'm really not up for making that my forever character. Seems like just getting some spells as abilities and rapid cast would basically trivialize everything
>>50907797 Unless he changes something, it’ll be very very late in the game before you can actually start gene editing yourself. I doubt any race other than Slime will get a feat discount for gene editing and they won’t have Devour either. So “trivializing everything” part might actually make the game more enjoyable since the late game is pretty poorly balanced right now anyway.
>>50907808 What I'm really hoping for in a completely baseless and unlikely way is there's some extremely nerfed version of it that's more accessible early in the game. The feat cost of getting a bunch of skill bonuses is fundamentally impractical for a player character anyway, but if there's just some more direct version where you pay like 5 points for a single enemy only feat I could see that having some place in earlier character progression.
>>50907903 We really just need a feat that converts the FP requirement to something like 1:2 or 1:3 for other races, compared to Slime’s 1:20. That way if a man wants something like Fast Learner early on, he has to sacrifice a few quality of life feats, making the early game a bit rougher. I think that’s fair.
>>50907924 Fast Learner costs 15FP. Even at 1/3 the cost that's 5FP. Or 15FP for LV3. That is pretty steep and a lot more than "a few early game QoL feats". Making it a lategame thing for other races would be better. If it's too accessible early game it will dilute the identity of your race/class pick. All the other playable races currently only have 3 gene slots while slime can get 10. Although that might not be enough to really set it apart since you can usually get your most important genes in a few slots.
Is there a disadvantage to just giving a ranged weapon to every pet? Even ones that are supposed to be melee, mages or anything else. Wouldn't that be just free DPS while they aren't covering their roles?
>>50908753 Well I was asking because I gave the handmaiden I just recruited the winchester, but she's too busy fucking their enemies over doing anything else anyway
>>50908806 She would probably be better if you let her use her spells instead. The more you progress, the less impressive guns become on non-gunners because they scale poorly since they’re low on Perception and lack on Gun/Marksman levels.
>>50904782 You could set up a mass monster stealing farm and get the thing that allows you to sell stolen goods at home. Individually the items won't sell for much but they come without karma loss and you can get lodsa items, and it powerlevels stealth too rarely you'll get an item that's actually nice to have like engagement jewelery or drugs.
>>50909717 Very, luck's not that good outside specific thresholds which you will only be at early game if at all. Also has heavy diminishing returns every 100.
>>50909717 It's fine but you need to know what you're doing. Dice rerolls work best on weapons or spells that have high dice faces, like throwing which can be very swingy.
>>50910062 Worship the boob cat, waste platinum on lucky coins, and pick thief as a starting class. There's really nothing else you could do other than waste a few feats, but I think even someone going hard on luck would think twice before getting those early on.
>Elin State of the Game - April 2026 >Adventurer Q&A Box >Q: How come you can't use panties as gear? >[...] How come you can't use panties as gear? >A This is because the moment you equip panties as waist gear, a serious problem arises: "Not equipped = not wearing anything." >[...] the majority of NPCs generated in Ylva would end up "not wearing anything" in place of panties >However, it might be possible to implement them as head gear instead of waist gear. >panties >head gear
>>50910066 I don't really like them because I know I wouldn't be able to resist the temptation to save scum the shit out of it, but I assume it's only really for people who want to do that anyway. If you're going in with a plan I'm sure it's just a matter of a rough start until you get a shit ton of arms or hands or ring slots or whatever you're planning to min-max. If you're just seeing where the random shit takes you I have no idea how that will go, but I imagine it will always be rough unless you're really lucky.
For my magic focused character on my food I use cheese as a seasoning made out of rice cake so it can gain the benefits of 4 different rice strains. I've been putting magic, will, endurance and learning on it, but I'm thinking of swapping the learning for perception for the defensive skill associations. Think it's worth it to swap? It's hard to tell just how much it would matter >>50910128 No. multiple hands is pretty much just for duel wielding.
>>50910131 Welp, should I just restart as another race? From my Elona experience, it wasn't worth trying to make a melee character, since my pets would just run around and melee everything.
>>50909821 Lotta plat, lotta lottery tickets, hard focus on all possible bonuses.
>>50910062 You get a lot just from Ehkatl, the dagger in particular doubles your luck.
>>50909761 >>50909950 >>50909932 Yeah I've got something like 300 and some change right now. I only very recently found out that it only really affects combat dice rolls and am extremely disappointed.
>>50910144 Personally I wouldn't do chaos shape running in blind, but I think melee is fine for the most part. Late game pets are better, but that's true for most options. There's nothing you can't do with it. >>50910156 Even if you consider throwing a gimmick you'll eventually grow out of, the dice for spells can get pretty big. It's really not that bad to focus on luck to some extent. Just start working on other shit now. Wasted platinum sucks, but it's not like there's much better use of lotto tickets anyway.
also apparently cocoons are supposed to be friendly if they're made by something friendly now, which i guess is good for the anons who wanted to ride that spider
>>50909610 As I understand it, spacts are strong earlygame but don't scale too well in the lategame. By all means keep using them (Violent Garden is particularly good), but don't neglect your combat skills.
What's the spawn id of luck statues? statue_god only spawns the healing one, and statue_ehe spawns the giant one I'd like to do some testing but I can't find the dang id through ListThing, I fear it's a random number
>>50909952 i guess but i'd still like to see some similar stuff in elin, like maybe a few more abilities to buy with platinum that are more interesting than swarm/bladestorm >>50910216 >Violent Garden is particularly good sounds cool, will definitely try it at some point
>If you're looking for free stats an easy solution is drinking from the city well. >That's good! >It's full of diseases. >That's bad. >Some of them are permanent spells and enchantments. >That's good. >Some of them are are also permanent debuffs. >That's bad. >But you can cure it with Anti-Mutation Potions. >That's good. >But only if they're Blessed. >... >That's bad.
>>50910298 Centaur has the strongest and most unique racial feat for archery. I don't think it makes such a difference that you couldn't do it well with basically anything other than fairy (Due to their weight restriction. Oddly enough in their case that doesn't apply to throwing). Slime obviously has potential to be ridiculous by eating something with rapid fire. I don't really like doing archery though. Having to sometimes take time to mine copper and log is kind of annoying. At the higher levels you can mitigate that with ammo saving weapon mods, but you aren't getting infinite ammo any time soon.
In Elin, is it possible to change the race of an NPC character? I'd like to get a sister with a non-standard race so I can give her one of these portraits, and it feels off to give her a fairy or succubus portrait if she's still a regular human race
>>50911014 I'd think 52 would be enough since I can at least find equipment made of the stuff by then, but maybe I'm underestimating the game. I'm sure I've seen tier 3 stuff at least, but I haven't seen any sort of table or anything that actually has level requirements
>>50911002 It wouldn't be as much of a bother as it was in Elona. The main issue there was the starting little girl taking a drink from the Vernis well, getting parasitised, and newbies not knowing what to do about it.
That being said given the nightly updates that introduced alien eggs it looks like Noa's sticking closer to the source material this time.
Bros I'm in a bit of a bind, I really like farming but I also want to try vampire out, and they don't use food at all do they? I dunno, does the game feel kinda empty without food being a factor? I feel like it's a pretty big part of playing
new here, so excuse me for the lewd sprites in the OP (or I guess any sprite replacement stuff), do I just drop them into the /package folder, or...? Not sure if I'm missing something or have to get another mod to use them properly.
>>50911063 Neat. So if I'm understanding this correctly, it's actually only from 70 and up where tier 4 is possible, and 100 and up where it's actually a likely outcome
>>50910290 >more abilities I love Dimensional Fishing and Houzanha. First one lets you "fish" for enemies in the map and is pretty much useless, but then I realized it works for bosses also, so I fished a certain boss in a certain map that increases your SAN the deeper you go and promptly made a cakewalk out of it; fun stuff and perfect for RPing. >>50910651 Bottom right is Y'molonac, named Y'golonac variant like Isca. Which makes me wonder, can you combo bomb rock + mandrake shield with Y'molo/Y'golo + pollen shield? Would be nice to have an immortal walking nuke that spams miasma+paralyze if the mobs just won't die. >>50911068 Ye, picrel
What are the shops worth investing into? It doesn't seem I'm getting interesting deals like you used to in Elona, unless the investing level is much higher now
Haven't played since August. Is there still no reason not to pick a little girl as a starting pet, other than for flavor, or were some new mechanics/gimmicks involving a cat/dog/bear cub added?
>>50912092 Creates an area with faster natural spawns. It can be used to get Seaweed early in the home, as well as spawn fish for livestock if placed near the water hole in Meadow. It's the ultimate home-body tool.
>>50912072 I used it early game because I thought it was the most efficient way to farm wood, while having a bunch of lumberjacks, I quickly realized it was not the case
>>50912132 Because this includes livestock, and it's free meat, shears, and taming skill. You can just tame the animals as they spawn and butcher them for meat once you get them to join. You'll pretty much never run out of food or blankets.
>>50912149 Well, even if their meat is kind of trash after a while, you can use the Butcher Tool and get skins for more bags. Mostly thinking about the Anons who can't seem to channel W.K. Kellogg and feed their party.
>>50912163 Yeah, but you'll have so many animals on the property that you'll always have something to brush until you have the Taming/CHA level to recruit, so you can grind until you get there. There's no escape. It kind of sucks that Brushing uses Stamina, but I usually use it to go into the negatives between Fishing and Farming since the action takes a bit more time, so it's easier to cancel in case my party member doesn't heal me randomly. Just another activity to add to the skinnerbox for grinding skills at home.
>>50912353 Haven't played in like a year and a half, so I'm not sure what you mean. Are you saying melee in general is shit or that dual wielding is inherently better now even without extra arms? If the latter, I'm curious as to how the flat extra 50% at the damage calc level could stop being relevant unless you're hitting the damage cap.
>>50911067 Vampire here. I've got a stable of "food friends" living at my house that I routinely put the bite on, but I still grow crops: mushrooms can be added to blood bags or made into fishing bait, cotton is almost mandatory for quality crafting, you can grow cacti (for needles) or pasture to save yourself having to manually gather stuff, and you'll still need rice/wheat if you want to make your own fast travel rations instead of buying them from inns. You'll also need to feed companions if you aren't playing solo, and I personally like to keep my residents fed in the hopes that the stat growth will make them a little less likely to die to random invaders.
>>50912388 Two-Handed is kind of trash because there's so many effects that can go on a second weapon or shield IMO. However, there's some cases where you can still pull more damage from Two-Handing earlier in the game, so training both and having access to both may be more useful than simply sticking to Dual Wielding.
>>50911275 Hey thanks. So just so I got it right, just copy all of these things into here (I guess into one big folder) and I'm good? I see there's also a lot of sprite replacer stuff on the workshop too, and it looks pretty nice. Was probably just gonna go down the Top Rated of All Time and subscribe to everything, but wondering if there's any recommendations beside that. I like my cute portraits and sprites.
>>50912517 >bursting into flames Me? Fire immunity. I get enough from Itzpalt that I only need a couple of scale/dragonscale items now. Early on, I was just in bat form 99% of the time; the penalties don't matter if you're only fighting putits and yeeks. Worst-case scenario, you can always just splash yourself with a watering can. >aggroing people around you It rarely comes up, honestly. It seems like my residents spend most of their lives in the little bedroom I built for them (with solo beds for the ones with good blood so that I can target them individually). As long as the door's closed the tourists don't even notice. If I do get spotted, I just cast Incognito.
>>50912814 The aggro thing I think is based on their opinion of you. When you're starting out it might happen from time to time, but I only ever ever saw it afterwards if I had open for business enabled since you'll slowly win over everyone with quests (or feeding even)
>>50912517 >>50912814 Oh, something I should mention in case any total noob vampires need info: you can totally move one tile away from Meadow into the low-level wilderness and bite some random yeek with zero negative consequences. You can see a little of their blood quality; just go for one that's, e.g. "Bursting with Juice" rather than "Stinky". The whole thing with residents can wait until you've established yourself a bit and can casually buy out Farris' stock of blood testing kits with your pocket change.
>>50913016 It's not my fault. Demitas just can't keep up with my demands. Now I just wont be entirely relying on a force weapon every time I can't afford the spell stocks
>>50913016 Isn't magic device better than pure spell casting in the long long run because of how the stats used for pure spellcasting have diminishing returns while magic device doesn't?
>>50913202 I don't know how hard you would have to focus on magic device in order for it to reach anywhere near the output of something like an arrow spell, but it would have to be something very extreme from what I've seen.
>>50910062 Luck build is basically synonymous with worshiping Ehekatl. With any other god you're realistically not going to see more than a few dozen luck(plus 15-30 from Thief's Luck feat). With cat tits you can easily reach 200+ and if you really push for it 300+.
It's garbage for casters because spells are retarded and always scale up to a retarded number of dice rolls. It's great for certain weapons because aside from being an overall damage increase it also greatly decreases wild swings in variance. It's pretty good for damage mitigation as well because PV has a dice roll aspect to it on top of the guaranteed reduction but if you're someone who abuses Wall of Flesh this is less relevant since your Y'go is most likely worshiping Itzpalt.
Are there any vendors that sell stone-grilled bibimbaps? I've made about a hundred curries by now and my character still refuses to learn the god damn recipe.
>>50914188 I'm sure I've seen it in Pork Kapul before from one of the vendors. I've only noticed because it's apparently one of my character's favorites
>>50914233 Try to learn all the skills sooner than later. Otherwise just fuck around and figure stuff out on your own or your missing out on the bests part
>>50914233 Unless you already have a lot of experience with Elona you're probably going to be very lost. This is complete normal and many people who play the game either get filtered very quickly or end up spending hundreds of hours on it.
Some general tips to at least have some guidance: Don't worry too much about your race/class selection. Pick what seems interesting to you(make sure to enable advanced race/class options for the full list.) There are some meta combos but almost everything has at least some valuable niche that can be abused. Something as simple as being better at eating food seems completely inconspicuous but is actually pretty fucking powerful. Ignore Snail and Tourist because those are intentionally gimped "challenge run" options.
Do not immediately try to dive into dungeons(nefias.) You're going to get destroyed. Try building up some currency/skills in the overworld first and stay near or even on roads. The farther you stray from a road the more dangerous enemies become.
Try to train skills early because you can't gain experience toward a skill until you actually have it. Some of the most generally useful skills are available in areas near the starting meadow.
Your starting stamina is terrible so you're going to be sleeping a lot but it quickly raises as your total skill level goes up. As your stamina increases it's important to have a decent bed so you actually recover full stamina whenever you sleep. You can craft beds, steal them, purchase them, exchange for them, etc. However you want to do it is fine, just try to get a better bed once you notice you're no longer recovering full stamina after sleeping.
You're going to die a lot early on. A whole fucking lot. Elona/Elin are pretty good about making enemies actually feel distinct so try to internalize how each one affects you in combat so you can make better decisions about what you want to use resources on. There's always a way to counter a problematic enemy. Sometimes the counter doesn't even involve a combat-centric ability.
A lot of people seem to struggle with money early on and end up looking up information online which is why so many people resort to doing the same things. Money really is not an issue so long as you're actually experimenting. Grab everything you can. Try shipping at least one of every item and see how much they sell for. There are plenty of things available very early in the game in large quantities that sell for more than you'd expect them to.
>>50914528 It mentions the mod name in the message. You can find it back in your Player.log if you missed it. If it doesn't show up again it might have been caused by steam being slow updating the mod or something. Or it'll show up again later when you do something in game.
>>50914533 The player.log was kinda hard to understand, but I found the exception occurring in my game config when I toggled Show offhand Equipment. Though I disabled every mod except CWL... don't get why I still get it in that case.
>>50914605 Because they're things that seemed innocuous to me, such as giving my mailbox an exclamation point when it has mail or warning me when food is about to expire.
>>50914652 The chat one you mean? I tried one but it was pretty bad about just commenting on things in-character and would just start to roleplay with itself on the side of my screen while also ignoring the system prompts. Was pretty funny sometimes.
>>50914774 Yeah I just shoved an older 8B Stheno shitmix in there to see how things worked without too much overhead. Not entirely sure I want to load up that Gemma 4 quant just to hear my party quip about things.
>>50914550 Try disabling every mod using the top checkbox and see if it still happens. I also have that option and toggled it without issues (and i have a ton of mods). Can't see because the text is hidden in the screenshot, but make sure you are using the right version of CWL. eg do not use nightly CWL when you are on stable.
>>50914774 I switched to using the nividia model since that is the recommended free one now and the lines have been so bad. It seems to fall into nonsense very quickly.
wew, okay. i come from the venerable /vg/aicg/ where we take our ai models very seriously. i've used opus, deepseek v4 and glm 5.1. all have been very pleasant, smart and responsive. i'd avoid any small models like that, though i believe gemma 4 could be somewhat competent
>>50914815 >Try disabling every mod using the top checkbox and see if it still happens. It doesn't, but I'm guessing that's only because CWL is disabled if I do that (and so it will not report the issue). I am indeed on the stable branch. Thanks for helping, by the way.
>>50916193 Well, it still happens even with this basic a mod list. I guess that means my CWL isn't correct even though I got it off the steam workshop... I dunno.
>>50916306 Not really paying too close of attention to the details here and I haven't gone that crazy with mods for Elin, but it's often a good practice in general to launch a game without any mods first. If you're actually dealing with annoying game breaking shit I'd just remove them, reinstall (or at least verify files), launch the game, then slowly start working them back in.
>>50916321 Yeah maybe I'll just ignore the error and see if it causes me any real problems when I play. I was hesitant to start with an error but if it happens with just Mod Help and CWL installed then I guess I just have to deal with it.
>>50916616 Race specific feats/gimmicks are exclusive to character creation, same for classes but those matter less But personally instead of caring about the gameplay aspect of character creation I'd just go for what I want to roleplay as (as long it's not a snail/tourist)
>>50916616 Race and class feats are mostly unavailable unless you're playing a slime. Off the top of my head the only exceptions are gourmet as a farmer and traveling chef as a Juere, but in both cases there's significant other feats. I guess there's also a handful of ways to get mana body, but they're really limited
>>50916636 >>50916641 Oh, I see. Interesting to see then, because some look really powerful (like Demigod's stuff) and then some look like absolute jokes (Flowers in Both Arms or Snaily), but obviously I'm not an expert so I don't actually know. I wanted to play some kind of spellblade, so I guess I'll go with Sword Sage and Demigod for my first playthrough, seems like a good mix of strength/endurance while still leaving me with some magic
>>50914774 I didn't like it. Felt like it didn't explain how to set it up or tweak settings. I do like occasional quips but not so much. I would prefer being able to get actual dialogue when interacting with party members. Like an evochat+
>>50914857 Yeah sorry, shant be using online corposlop or paid models, Local or bust I didn't buy this 5090 for nothing.
>>50916657 A much more strict set of rules for calling on the party members would help immensely, mod felt kinda directionless and just let the model loose to send random shit.
>>50917753 I was mostly worried if I'm just missing out too much by using force weapons instead of longswords. I'm guessing it doesn't actually matter too much. I mean either you're trading casting and leveling magic more for swords so unless the calculation is heavily in swords favor I'm probably breaking even
Is there any data on the exact effect of Growth Boost? Playing a new character, just unlocked Vernis and I'm testing exp gains but there seems to be so much variation that I can't notice any difference. >>50917655 I'm like 99% positive it only works with melee attacks unless there's some obscure way you can make it work with ranged. I burned through 500+ energy cells and arrows testing a laser gun and Lulwy's bow and neither one of them managed to trigger a single stamina drain. The moment I swapped strategy to Fighter it basically turned on infinite stamina mode.
>>50916657 to be fair, it was the only ai mod i found. the setup was a pain indeed, but not too horrible if yiu know your way around llm's. the real crime is the lack of prompt management. i'll take a look at evochat.
>>50916942 that's 100% fair but i'm obligated to tell you to Use Opus, cuckie.
>>50917100 it's crazy. i think for small party quips like this it's pretty damn ideal
I've never really gotten to endgame with elin, mostly fucked around Is it hard to find NPCs at level 80+ and stuff? I'm asking for vampire reasons, since NPC level increases blood meal level too, like leveling ingredients Just wondering how the blood feeding keeps up with making superfoods
>>50917961 >Just wondering how the blood feeding keeps up with making superfoods I think it's supposed to keep up by you increasing your bloodsucking/learning. It's not really hard to find high level npcs if you do void / level scaled dungeons though I think ideally you would just level up your pet with good blood
>>50918010 Not that it has jack shit to do with Lulwy, but in terms of some obvious effects to give out to the other major body pillows the first thing that comes to mind for me is restore body/mind. One that make you more hungry would be cool, but that's probably too exploitable
>>50918022 That sounds more like something Jure's would do(although she already has an effect because of course she does.) Kind of wish each body pillow would increase the chance of their statue spawning until your next sleep in addition to some immediate benefit or temporary buff.
>>50917961 It's ok. With all the means to pump levels into npc's making your own isn't that hard. I think q11 blood is at about level 500 or so? That's not too bad.
>Even when worshiping Horome, the "Mama!" dialogue option will no longer appear unless the character is in baby form. (The blessing that prevents Mama from rejecting you remains unchanged.) Tittybros...
>>50918581 >infantile mommy milkers baby play shit The fact that you don't turn into a baby seems to sidestep that. With that change you're forced into literal baby play and there's no longer an option for some basic titty sucking.
I can't believe they added a feat for discordfags! If it is full piercing it would be great for mages, slimes in particular since you can get death arrow from exiles or Melilith.
>>50918668 you are never forced to turn into a baby or suck tits. it's not a necessary part of the game you can just not do it and now there isn't an ever-present mommy chat option with all the old man portrait NPCs adults acting like babies is still baby play
>>50917971 It's a little sad that only Opatos, Ehekatl, and Jure's body pillows do anything. My character is a devout worshipper of Itzpalt and it'd be cool if his body pillow let you dream of an extra spell every night.
>>50919048 If I knew how to get the Recipe to Mega Flam, I'd make a Goblin and be the Green Goblin. Otherwise I'd probably try Yeek, Rat, or Snake.
If I want to try something that's more legit, I'd probably Alien since it has 190 base Unarmed Potency apparently and it might be fun to play around with the Ether Disease that turns your unarmed attacks to Poison Element to kind of fit the caustic theme.
>>50919095 I said 190, but it's 180. MB. Sorry for spreading misinformation on the internet. It doesn't help that these tables on the wiki are super misaligned on browser for me so it's hard to even see what anything has.
Any solid 1.0s ranged options for fairies? Thinking about doing a fairy archer mainly because I don't want to go through the trouble of firing up aesprite and making a centaur PCC.
>>50919138 >because I don't want to go through the trouble of firing up aesprite and making a centaur PCC. There is a Centaur PCC mod. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3542999027
>>50919249 I'd probably go with a Bow and work towards getting Lulwy's Wind Bow since it's .4s out of the box and does lightning damage which is considered one of the better damaging elements. Also, it seems like the weapon doesn't have any inherent faction bonus, so you can dump her like she dumped Mani for Opatos and worship someone actually worthwhile. Arrows are pretty easy to come by if you're worried about ammo, at least moreso than ammo for Guns.
>>50919099 There are a bunch. It's just that they are not hosted on steam for obvious reasons, and the official discord is clamping down on everything that Elona and Elin are infamous for in addition to the same reasons as steam, so you have to know where to get certain kinds of sprites that >>50918979 wants and do a sprite replace yourself. Good thing the ingame sprite replacer makes things easy.
>>50919426 Again, what makes it hard is finding unseen hand to begin with. The tiny spawn chance per town reset coupled with the disguise and small window before he murders someone and despawns means he could appear and you'd never know.
I'm sure there'll be a mod to notify when he spawns.
>>50919428 Just Sprites isn't really what I'm after, personally I could go anywhere and look at sexy pixel art what I'm flabbergasted at the lack of is h mods at a mechanical scale
>>50919555 Nah, it's a retarded meme because one of the backers is a coc dev, that's all.
>>50919503 Well, idk what to say. If you're looking something huge and overarching like RJW I doubt that's going to happen. Again, most of this stuff is not officially hosted, I'm not sure if the lover's night mod is for example, but finding these things usually means digging through a bunch of jap communities and websites.
Elona h assets also work ok with Elin after some tweaking.
Finally, the perfect meat pie after 300 hours >>50919536 >Quirky, off-the-rails "degenerate" setting >Backed by COC2's shitsune writer, with COC2's (non-existent) quality plummeting hard since day -360 before its conception >Kinu's whole existence >Extremely addictive, lower barrier of entry when compared to other roguelikes >Frequent updates It's easy to see why. Honestly, if Elin weren't as good as it is, I wouldn't even be playing it due to Tobs existence.
>>50919503 Not surprising at all. The issue with mods changing mechanics on a large scale in general is that the game is constantly getting updated and changed. Nobody is going to put a ton of time into something that will constantly break or be outdated several months down the line.
On the topic of cooking, any good ideas on ways to use that azrasizzle meat for magic food? Nothing else comes close to 20 magic, but that perception penalty fucking sucks and kind of scares me off just turning it into cheese. Other than improving the learning crop strain I feel like I'm kind of hitting a wall
>>50919628 Huh, I thought it'll be better to have less nutrition since you'll get hungry faster? >>50919640 C'mon man, just getting a fabled fish took me 10 fucking year. Sides, is it even worth it if you can't Kettle it in the end? >>50919694 Pretty sure Azra cheese has an even lower perception drop than Azra meat
>>50919719 From what I looked up making it cheese has it go from -10 to -11, but I'm not sure about actually committing to that yet. I can't think of any magic food that would cancel that out well. Something like a giant shortcake with oranges and cake dough made with crafted sugar would probably be close, but I almost wonder if I'm better off just going a different route entirely like a meat bun that also uses wisps meat or slime remains or some shit just to quickly remove it. I guess at the end of the day I don't really care about perception that much, but having a main food with a penalty is a flaw I'd rather avoid
>>50919719 >Huh, I thought it'll be better to have less nutrition since you'll get hungry faster? gains are multiplied by nutrition e.g. let's say you could either eat a 15 nutrition egg with +2 STR and a 15 nutrition egg with +1 STR, or a 30 nutrition egg with +2 STR. 15*2+15*1=45 30*2=60 uberfood supplies are limited, so the more nutrition they have, the less hunger you're forced to spend on weaker food
>>50919960 What I don't understand, and suspect the guy you replied to is alluding to, is where a status like filled/bloated fits in. Ignoring someone just gaming alcohol and throwing it all up, wouldn't there be "wasted nutrition" past a certain point? I always suspected there was some sort of ideal nutrition number to strive (that would change with heavy/light eater)
>>50921050 >where does he sleep? >where does he go to the toilet? >where does he shower? >where does he cook? most houses in this game are completely dysfunctional. i dont think there is even one functional house.
>>50921519 I'm pretty sure veggies have a maximum of additional +7 stat potency, and additional enchantment value will only raise their quality. How to reach? >Hammer meat pie from willow >Marbled hell/chaos/any dragon (gives 22 STR pot and 17 STR) x3, cheese one of them >Coffee bean with +7 STR pot, to mitigate dragon cheese's PER drop >Rice with +7 STR pot milled with Chili to make Tempura Flour, mainly because it adds str and to use the increased PER pot from coffee But like the anon before me said, the highest possible stat requires Chef Hat and 4 Legendary fishies to make the ultimate Star Gazy Pie. They're doable once in a blue moon with stats ranging from at least 100-ish, but they can't be Kettle'd, so yeah. >>50919960 >>50919976 >Bloated Yep, that's my concern, especially since I'm playing Wraith Exec with Light Eater 2. Picrel gave me Bloated even though I only ate when I'm Starving, so getting more nutrition seems like a waste at this point, but prolly need to test it a little bit more.
>>50922089 >Anon unironically wants to lock himself into the shittiest domains imaginable for a slight stamina usage reduction instead of just embracing having sleepy bitch syndrome >second class option's gimmick is literally on some kid's stick NGMI

>>50922208 >Fire >Good Maybe if you're a Kizuami worshiper and literally have 0 other options. And let me tell you, the word Maybe would be a size 72 font.
>B-but muh ice+lightning synergy cool you can do something that a guy with a gun with copper bullets can accomplish in the rain.
>>50922286 If you seriously needed 100 merchants, it's either the most terrible RNG imaginable or just a skill issue. I'm gonna give you some credit and just say it's RNG.
>>50922208 Fire is bad, but ice has crazy utility in wet and freeze as an unresistable slow. Lightning is also a great element with 1.5 damage synergy with wet, an unresistable stun, and a huge swathe of enemies are cripplingly weak to it with few resisting mobs. All three have elemental scar support, too.
>>50922346 who needs hp when you have the fatfuck anyway also end has like one domain and heal self barely means anything just magmaxxing like a normal mage nigga
>>50922361 Nah I'm not gonna console but I am going to download a bunch of gameplay mods that remove RNG and gives me *exactly* what I want because any variables or emergent gameplay is secondary to *my* vision of how this game should be played. I swear it's totally different.
>>50922560 Warrior has a better starting stat-line and you're able to get Nether domain once you get some ranks in the Mage Guild.
But, I believe Warmage has access to domains like Acid and Ether from the Mage Guild because of Magic Mastery after getting to a similar Rank.
I would probably go with Warrior, because sometimes having less Domains is a boon to keep the pool smaller. Also there's less skill overlap. Having a high number in a starting skill can be good, but I tend to favor having multiple skills because it cuts down on the time you have to spend every playthrough purchasing the full set of skills with Plat Coins.
>>50922600 Thank you very much for the answer. >has access to domains like Acid and Ether from the Mage Guild because of Magic Mastery Has that always been a thing? Thought the guild just lets you remake the initial domain choice.
>>50922692 That's the rank 4 bonus. When you get to rank 6, you get an additional domain of your choice. Since magic mastery already gives you this, if you have magic mastery as a perk you can pick higher domains.
>>50922768 Because I just love jumping into newbie's livestreams and backseat gaming for them unsolicited and without permission. It's not about helping them, it's about depriving them of discovering the game for theirselves.
>>50922785 every single stream of this game is them doing the meadow tutorial quest. without exception. but if you join at the right time you can catch them acting shocked and making hilarious jokes about the pet choice.
Just started playing Elin, got some questions Can I rename my little girl/change her portrait? Can I tell her to stop fighting in a battle I don't think she wins? What happens if she dies, does she just respawn at my town? Since companions don't die from starvation, do I even bother putting food in their inventory? Why do I feel funny things when looking at Nerun?
>>50923028 You can with a resident board I don't think so, but you can set it to have followers stay close in the notes section in the character menu Food is a major part of stat growth. When you're starting out all you really want to focus on is not starving, but eventually you're going to want followers to have decent food. There's also just the downsides of the starving status on her to consider. This goes beyond Elin, but fairies are not to be trusted
>>50923028 Yes. Yes. Yes, with a certain tool. She will respawn at her home location in about a week or you can pay a bartender for a rez, but for your first pet you can talk to Fiama to rez it. To raise their stats, and pets don't regen when starving. Nerun is an onahole.
Sometimes I'll push it only because the skill exists and leveling it gets me closer to a feat point, but is there ever a point where using magic capacity when you're in any sort of danger stops feeling suicidal?
I saw a vindale cloak on a black market npc but didn't know what it was and passed buying it. I'm kicking myself so hard now after recruiting eluminaire
what's so good about witch slime? I picked it because I like the image of a witch slimegirl in my head also what's wrong with fire magic, just how many things resist it? I like fire magic it's my favorite
>>50925129 >what's so good about witch slime? extra magic domain double sleeping potions (easy to eat high level people if you sleep drug them first) decent throwing skill for early game since you can't equip shit >also what's wrong with fire magic, just how many things resist it? destroying gear and items that could have been drops from enemies mostly
>>50925319 >pick Witch >adopt Little Girl because she's totally part of my coven >worship Opatos for a bit before going Kumiromi >sell nothing but blueberries and sea urchin flake wine >live in a grass hut with 50 crafting stations stacked on top of one another >spend 500 hours grinding mining and digging >steal Fortune Bell's resources brick-by-brick >savescum turning said resources into massive amounts of duplicated materials via hammer alchemy Yes, I'm a bona-fide roleplaying magic user, how could you tell?
>>50925471 "It's happening," Anon whispered. Outside, the rain fell in droves, mirroring the gray in his heart. Trembling hands brought the copium pipe to his lips, and he steadied himself with a deep drag, clinging to a single forlorn hope.
"It's happening. She wouldn't have been updated with accepted offerings otherwise. Why would noa add data that would never be used?"
>>50925129 >also what's wrong with fire magic, just how many things resist it? I like fire magic it's my favorite -Dysynergy with ice, one of the better elements because of unresistable slow -Elemental effect is shit, burning does next to no damage -Wet? That's 30% of your damage gone with no way to remove it. Which makes you shit if it rains or are underwater or a mob so much as steps in a puddle -Everything and its mother resists it, the most common material resistance -
Is noa an IRL Mani worshiper? Does he ever plan to give crossbows or bows some variety? What's next? Maybe a harpoon gun or a energy weapon that shoots plasma arrows to really rub it in?
>>50925170 >what's so good about witch slime? nothing. the only useful thing is double gene potions. its picked because witch feat is the only one you cant absorb from genes. thats literally it. not that witch is a bad class in general.
>>50925762 It was that easy, huh? I didn't have to pay a single coin while some backers had to pay good money for noa to give their character 300 Marksman and 380 Gun, thus making almost every other ally obsolete due to Guns/Ranged being so effective already while there's nothing remotely comparable as options for Melee or Magic until the super late game, and even that's kinda questionable.
Let's be honest if Elin was an MMO you'd still play it for a month and drop it to go back to Defense of the League of Overwatch Strike - Rivals: A Realm Reborn
>>50925885 Yeah. Rumor has it every time you turn off the Ultima inspired bag graphics noa turns a character sent to him from the bug reports into a monster.
Pet evolution that turns exclusively your starting cat/dog/bear into a kemonomimi with a very cute sprite and portrait after beating floor 100 of the void?
>start my first playthrough >go to Puppy cave after getting some basic gear >step on trap, two pieces of gear get cursed >have an unidentified scroll in my inventory, remember hearing that it can sometimes be a scroll of uncurse >it curses me
Gentlemen, I require your assistance. For some reason, when I equip this chest piece, the stat boost from my Lonely Soul feat goes from 20% to 24%. Do items made of platinum have a special, as yet undocumented/undiscovered, implicit effect that increases the effectiveness of Lonely Soul specifically? I've done a couple tests, and it seems like this 4% bonus only occurs when I'm wearing one piece of platinum gear. Putting on two pieces doesn't increase the effect. Taking off this banded mail chest piece and putting on some random platinum boots I had lying around still gives me that 4% extra Lonely Soul boost. I'm really confused, why is this happening?
>>50926145 You figured it out before someone else said it at least. That's like the difference between awkwardly stumbling in front of people instead of outright falling down.
>the MA_Monster_Tex_Replace mod in steam workshop only includes these, which aren't even half of the ones on his site uuuuuuuugh don't tell me I have to go download them one at a time
>>50927073 I think one of the few things luck is actually good for is resisting curses, so if you happen to be rolling in that shit it might not be as much of a waste
>>50927295 The combat feats being tied to tactics I guess? In practice you're probably compromising on something using a force weapon since that's a rune slot that could be flurry or whatever. There's also just the stat growth difference to consider, I mean just look at the dragon meat pie vs giant shortcake screenshots earlier in the thread. If you're after both melee and magic that's kind of a different matter though. Personally I like force weapons more just because I inevitably end up leaning hard on casting/magic device anyway
>>50927365 I did it recently and it was a pretty rough start for actually using unarmed since only the chakram's don't have a negative stats, and I had pretty bad luck finding a usable one. I also did shield style, which was probably a bad call. It's not really different from any other melee option other than having a slightly different calculation. There might be some ranges of the stat where it performs better or worse than just using a different weapon, but I'm not going to bother figuring it out
>>50927403 It got to a functional place at some point, but I stopped doing much with the character not long after the quest to unlock runes so I have no idea on the extreme end. I just got tired of doing vampire stuff
>>50927365 You can do whatever. The important thing about ma weapons is that your barehanded ma dice are halved and then added to the ma weapon's dice.
Ma dice increase with skill up to 6, and die faces keep increasing with skill but are curved. The multiplier is reduced in exchange.
MA weapons can roll shield enchants, so they default to a defensive style. You can use counter and parry to turn your defense into offense since those are 1.5 damage crits when they trigger.
>>50927573 If you have cwl you can do anything since it just lets you run game code from the console. Alternatively you can just spawn an altar and use it.
oh boy can't wait for 50+ more race review videos with no visual aids and throwaway sped-up gameplay of a completely unrelated race from a person who probably doesn't have playtime on any of them
but slime has less slots and it's a very powerful race :^) and you're using slime for exp-boosting DNA and heavy eater anyways so why care so much about a full body of slots? didn't playing as a slime teach you anything?
I'm not sure if you're pretending to be retarded or if you actually are, but Slime can run full body parts with a complete set of eat boosting feats on top of that. Not to mention they get access to gene engineering before any other race. Meanwhile dragons with only 4 body parts are at a huge disadvantage compared to almost any full slot race. Eating more barely matters, and the Elder race bonus isn't enough to compensate. Their supposed advantage of 5 gene slots is also gone now that every race except Slime cannot access gene editing yet. All of this makes dragons just okay at best compared to full body part races and straight up inferior at worst.
>>50928553 I mean, I could tell you that you're constantly making trade-offs as a slime and it isn't as cut and dry as you're making it. But you're gonna tell me I'm wrong until I'm "defeated" so it's pointless talking to you.
>>50928544 I wouldn't say it's completely lacking insight but his useful information tends to be on his unrelated tangents rather than the topic of the videos theirselves. Kind of makes me wish he made actual proper guides since they might not be so bad.
>>50928612 No, dragon isn't fun. It's a roleplay race now. Go home, Anon. Slime is the only race because it can do anything and of the others can do but better. Special shout-out to Demigod because it's the sleeper OP everyone doesn't want to say they play but it's their forever character.
>>50928648 Wouldn't Luck help Greater Evasion or Perfect Evasion? Maybe not a direct boost to dodge chance but it helps during the dice roll to get a better result, right?
>>50928648 i noticed that one too. i somewhat understand the confusion on that one at least but there are a ton of others. however fact checking your blabbering takes effort.
>>50928699 no because there is no dice roll in dodge. there is a dice roll when applying PV though, so funnily enough luck does help there.
>>50928699 No. Luck rerolls only affect a very specific die function which has exactly three uses: damage rolls, healing rolls, and the static damage reduction from pv. Aside from that, luck in general is used in gamba chest wins and resisting attempts to curse equipment.
The game itself has a book detailing all this, so Lotus getting it wrong is frankly inexcusable if he's going to make guides.
>>50928760 I laughed at that episode where he stacked undeadgod products and called it "good eats". Anyone retarded enough to eat that burger deserves everything they get.
The main problem is that while positive xp passes through diminishing returns, negative doesn't. At high enough levels, ie at those levels where people start considering such things, even a -2 will start take away more and more xp overall than the undeadgod burger warrants. That's why it's important to treat undeadgod with metal eggs to remove stinky.
>>50928789 What, you don't want to eat undead god eggs you somehow farmed until you go blind? I saw that one when I was looking for ways to use the meat from it, but thought it sounded insane
How does modding priority work in this game, is it: >mods at the top apply first and ones below are ignored if they conflict (like two sprite replacers) or >mods at the top apply first, but are then overwritten by the ones at the bottom
So maybe I just don't understand the controls, but is there no way to click on an enemy at a distance to attack them with melee (i.e., "move to them and attack")? I have to move within melee distance before I can click?
>>50929065 The only domain I think is really enemy-proof is magic, but the effects of sound, chaos, dark, or ice are all pretty good. Dark and Ice are pretty commonly resisted though (faith alone can do it). I don't really like the lack of arrows with sound or chaos either. Cut and ether are probably also up there, but again I don't really like the spell selection, and if cut is actually a domain you have you probably aren't in it for casting
>>50930030 You have to reach a certain kill count or wave count iirc Then you can just leave It's not worth going into higher tiers unless you have a godly cheesing build to counteract the hordes of high-level mobs coming to gape you harder than Lulwy after Mani was done with her
>>50930054 Anon... use the fucking horn, it's there for a reason. Don't tell me you've never used the "call ally" option either? P.S. Your layout is aneurysm-inducing.
>>50930049 Stop blowing the damn horn to summon the next wave. Every time you do that the retreat counter resets. Not only does it add rewards, so you can't just blow it and leave, but you're telling the game the current state is to easy and to throw harder shit at you.
Is there any way to change the class of a specific NPC? I want my soil stacking residents to be fairies but I want them to have the accelerated farming growth from the Farmer class.
>>50922321 >Fire is bad, but ice has crazy utility in wet and freeze as an unresistable slow. Lightning is also a great element with 1.5 damage synergy with wet, an unresistable stun, and a huge swathe of enemies are cripplingly weak to it with few resisting mobs Baseline resistances don't really matter because once you progress far enough every single enemy who worships Itzpalt has 20+ resistance to all three of those elements. After a certain point they're all inconsistent and you either need a character with Inquisition who spams Bane or you need someone with Hexer AI who spams Elemental Scar. I didn't realize it until recently but Itzpalt seems to be a disproportionately common faith for enemies because holy fuck did I run into a lot of things that took no damage from Lulwy's bow when I was testing things.
vampires control the balance updates it's why fire sucks open your eyes sheeple they're living in tunnels under mysellia they're bankrolling the wars they're the reason we have such high taxes
Why doesn't Noa buff the base classes to bring them up to speed? What's the point of having classes that are just straight up worse than alternatives if they don't provide flavor? I'd be perfectly fine with Warrior and Warmage being bad jokes if they enabled goofy nonsense instead of not contribute anything unique or RP-worthy beyond a class name. It doesn't seem like it would be difficult at all to whip. Just fucking spitballing= >Warrior -Weapon Mastery changed to: If your mana is full, proc-based weapon enchants have a flat 15% higher chance at activating. Also, if a melee weapon skill is below the equivalent of 75% of your highest one, it is boosted to that amount. -Bloodlust: Kills from melee abilities refunds the stamina spent.
>Wizard -Doesn't start with any static domains -Magic Mastery 5 -Sedulous: ALL spells use magic as their stat
>Archer -Fletcher: Gets an extra crafting slot for arrow and bolt recipes that allows them you to apply offensive potions or touch, ball, or miasma spellsbooks to them so that you can spend even more time crafting. -Eagle Eye: Range for bows and crossbows increased by 1
Thief -Thief's luck 2 -Devious: Whenever you hit a character who is suffering from a dot, a each ticks an extra time. -Furtive: Status power (or whatever the fuck the game calls it) is increased when applied on unaware targets. Can gain invisibility stocks from dreams.
Warmage -Magic Mastery 1 -Force User: Toggleable skill. It makes any melee weapon behave as a force weapon. Also can gain telekinesis and telepathy stocks from dreams. -Intonation Mastery 2: Intonation spells deal 20% more damage and have 100% more charges.
Priest: -Devout 1 -Magic Mastery 1 -Altruistic: Blessings applied to others have a 25% stronger effect
>>50932675 I'm pretty sure this is in jest, but there is a point in there. The basic chargen options are simple, by and large passive, and idiot proof. A newbie going up and picking what sounds cool without any prior game knowledge is going to get something reasonably thematic while also pretty damn general and hard to fuck up. A bit more weapon damage doesn't sound flashy, but it has immediate benefit for a pants on head newbie and will get used, even if by accident.
>>50933069 You're so right bro. You're missing out SO MUCH by starting with Pickpocket on a class or Negotiation on a more combat oriented starting class just because Luck is factored into it. Might as well pick Tourist or None because it's better than Thief.
>>50933069 There's only a handful of class features that matter. If you're using high level spells or throwing weapons rerolling damage if you get a better outcome 30% of the time is still better than a lot of shit
only classes that matter are farmer, pianist, thief for luck memes, and executioner for anyone not using their mana bar 0 reason to touch anything else
>>50933293 I don't really use stamina in nefia, and mana body is nice for people who use their mana bar too. I could probably get a lot of use out of inquisitor's ability if I ever cared to play it. You basically need a specific random enchantment to use it well though Witch also seems like it would save a lot of time if you're bothering with gene editing
>>50932318 >The minmaxers Is there anyone actually playing this game that isn't in this category? Seems like all of the casual players get filtered out pretty quickly
>>50933358 Could have fooled me since every topic involving gameplay seems to be geared towards being as optimal as possible or using mods to achieve perfection.

What are some of the best feats to get for a sword-spell spamming Slime? I'm assuming Elder Race, Old Fox Lineage, Frontline Commander and maxed out Rapid Cast are all the best for damage.
>>50933432 use libra instead of ER. Not sure if Frontline Commander is worth it. Rapid cast has diminishing return so leave it at level 2 or 3 or something and use anything else
>>50933676 I didn't even notice Libra had an interaction with sword spells specifically. >Rapid cast has diminishing return Do you mean actual diminishing returns or are you talking about linear scaling?
>>50933742 The damage of the extra hits drops off with higher ranks of RC. I don’t know the exact numbers since no one bothers putting shit on wiki so you might have to dive into the discord for more details.
>>50933742 Any rapid action (cast, fire, flurry, etc) passes through a curve that diminishes its damage, and the penalty sharply increases the more of the same action per turn. After a point, it's probably better to invest elsewhere to get better returns.
TLDR stacking rapid cast twice does not mean you get 3 times the damage.
>>50933763 >>50933785 Alright good to know. Assuming penetration calculates resistances as negative I'll keep Elder Race at least since that's still a ~14% damage increase assuming zero resistance but if penetration doesn't calculate as negative I'll be dropping that and Frontline Commander too.
>>50933818 Penetration cannot bring pv or resistances under 0, you need something that actually causes weaknesses like elemental scar or nightmare for that.
>find a godly bracelet >I can't appraise it with my skill >tinker camp mage can't do it >Mysilia capital mage can't do it Alright, who can actually identify this damn thing
>>50933363 Well, I'd say it's because people who are ok with just playing don't go to discuss the meta, it auto filters for those who are interested in it. >>50933763 >Discord Ew.
>>50933992 I wouldn't bother with an amulet; especially not a grass one. It doesn't take very long before godly items will pretty reliably sell for more than it costs to identify them but in the very early game I don't recommend doing it unless it's a non-shitty material. Godly sand weapon? Don't bother. Granite? Probably going to be usable.
>adopt Gwen because the way she follows you around is cute >get lucky with stewed vegetable recipe from Fiama's stock >can finally use all these mushrooms >make a stop at the meadow to cook some more food >Gwen immediately comes running over >the fucking cauldron explodes in her face because I suck at cooking and she runs around on fire screaming until she dies
>>50934102 Almost every dead child I know burned to death, and if you include electrocution as burning (electricity is pretty hot - I know it kills via neuromuscular damage but there are arguments to be made) then it's all of them aside from one. Even then, you could also argue that drowning in boiling water counts as burning to death. Gwen dying in a cooking explosion is pretty accurate to real life. Art mimics life, as they say. Or death in this case, I guess.
>>50933069 You forget that luck is a separate multiplier. Boosting the same multiplier (eg your main stat) has diminishing returns and at some point it will be more effective to boost other multipliers, like luck. Especially your first 100 luc or so amounts to a decent damage boost regardless of what you run.
>>50934212 Can do that with any class just as well. Pianist doesn’t actually matter, farmer is arguably better even if you only want to do music and nothing else.
>>50934281 its not and you can also sleep in dungeons without issue by using bed from inventory. there are a few time sensitive things such as taxes and ether disease but they become irrelevant even in the early game.
>>50934286 the bonus is only 20% orens. its free money but doing more music quests means more plat which is arguably more important.
>>50934317 I guess it could be useful for some of the blessing abilities that require stamina like with Lulwy or Itzpalt's? If you're really spamming the melee abilities you're probably going to want one of the stamina drain options though. I've never been in a position where I had to stop mid field harvesting or some shit outside of really early in the game.
>>50934325 no and i already explained to you why. you just cant read. you do quests to boost your plat income. nobody is doing quests for orens past early game.
>>50934329 they can be convenient for letting autocombat run longer since it likes to spam but thats really it. the game only does 15 turns when you sleep before it stops and simply skips time. as long as you move a few steps back from aggro mobs you can recover. you can quite literally sleep in front of a boss if you have a pet tanking. no idea why people are dreadfully afraid of a black screen transition that takes a little over 5 seconds.
>>50934504 >no idea why people are dreadfully afraid of a black screen transition that takes a little over 5 seconds. I shan't waste in game time on sleeping
>try to rush an ocean spot early for actually decent fishing >scarabs spawn in the ocean for some reason and will completely fill the map within minutes which tanks the framerate Why did noa do this?
>>50899439 >Sinaha of Misfortune If you didn't know she is basically a reference to M'aiq the Liar. In the game lore she has low karma so everyone who talks to her lies to her or purposefully teaches her wrong on purpose.
>>50934589 It's not Etherwind that will wipe out Mysilia, it's the tidal wave of self-replicating Scarab droids scuttling their way to the city as we speak that will condemn the city to oblivion
>>50935396 For now, maybe if I do some chores for a bit I'll come around to play it, but my autism on picking shit up to sell or to hoard and never use is way too strong.
>>50934208 I mean, you can apply that same logic to luck itself if you're talking long game. It falls off like a fucking rock after you get your first 100 and any Ehekatl worshipper will go far past that hit that point without being a thief.
>>50935689 I don't think you would play your own game unless you're a crazy narcissist because you programmed it and know everything that is in the game already, kinda takes the magic out of it imo.
>>50935478 In E+ you can use the pot for fusion to turn items into gold anywhere via alchemy, so you don't need to drag them to a shop You can also cast 4d pocket, and/or have a golden knight pet carry things for you
Is red pepper actually a good vegetable? I always assumed the stat exp was more important than the stat potential in foods since it's so easy to get bonus potential from the different strains, but it does give 9
From everything I've tested you want to have both stat exp and potential exp. If you focus purely on stat exp you end up with shitty potential and barely any gains. If you focus purely on potential exp you hit diminishing returns pretty fast because there's no way to actually grind out enough stat experience other than with food.
I've been testing Red Peppers on my current character and what ends up happening is I very quickly reach ~500 potential but after multiple days worth of eating(and this is with From North 3 which means eating more often than normal) diminishing returns kick in hard and it tapers off at around ~1000 potential. That's several days worth of food to reach 2x what it was before. The issue is performing actions gives so little base exp that it's impossible to keep up with potential growth if you're focusing on just that. Food is the only realistic way to gain stats. Even if you set up one of those autism afk stat grinders that trains like ten different skills at once you still barely get any stats out of it. Food is king so you want to pump the baseline stat exp as high as you can while also having some potency to help keep the multiplier up.
This is why it's so stupidly easy to pump strength. It's easy as fuck to farm a bunch of good meat with both strength and strength potency and you slap that in a burger and get fuckhuge stat exp with fuckhuge multipliers. Makes me wish noa would optimize other food like that or at least buff experience gains from actions so growth doesn't begin and end with food.
>>50936788 That's more or less the approach I've had, with just getting as much of both as possible. I just see actual stat exp as more rare so prioritize it a little. You'd think with pure potential there would have to eventually be a tipping point where you keep the number so high it keeps things fast, but it's probably some absurdly high number
>>50936671 More summons Enhanced spell for summon spells only Taming proficiency (no race or class has this by default or with any potential) Charisma based (only Pianist is a Charisma based class so far) One more unique quirk I guess, don't really care. But this class would fill in several things the other classes lack (lack of CHA, Taming) and make sense in an isekai fantasy sort of world.
>>50936813 You’d wish that feats empowering summons or Noa would fix summoning spells as a whole. Having more summons means nothing when they’re all level 50 while your average enemies are level 250.
>>50936823 I think if he was to start balancing high level stuff there would have to be some pretty major changes in general that I don't see happening.
>>50936855 No. The only argument I would really consider against grape is that its secondary stat is charisma potential, which is a little worse compared to apple's willpower potential (apple also has 2 more nutrition). I still prefer grape for the higher magic though.
>>50936834 >>50936874 The mod stuff has constantly had safeguards put in to prevent mods from bricking saves. a modder would have be outright malicious to cause a brick at this point.
Was Ehekatl's stamina passive changed? I could've sworn it used to have a chance of doubling cost at 1 SP if you rolled high, now it supposedly can't increase the cost of 1 SP actions.
>>50936974 Not true. For most mods the game is generally pretty good yes. But there are still places such as type resolving which requires mods to write code to allow uninstalling without issues.
>>50937043 I really don't get the impression any thought went in to higher than 50, but it just doesn't completely fall apart until the 200 stuff happens. You're basically turning safeguards off by buying the licenses
>>50937148 I don't think vampire is shit. The early stat growth really is impressive. You just end up having to wear a shit ton of scale at the start if you don't want to get killed by anyone with fire. I just wish he'd add ketchup you can craft or something to make later game cooking for them a little more functional for personal use.
>>50937140 They spawn into existence solely for this one minigame Once you close it, they all perish and cease to exist at the same time Basketball is genocide
>>50937208 >>50937435 >>50937454 Ketchup is a retarded waste anyway. The entire point is to succ people, if you're not going to do that or let npc vamps succ you, might as well play something else.
If one really wants to roleplay a sparklevamp or have a controlled diet for npc vamps, blood bags are far more effective with a 2x multiplier. Creative cook a legendary fish in the first slot, legendary fish onions sauce the second slot, then throw in a blessed veggie in the third to bless the whole thing. The 2x multiplier makes it better than anything you can cook with ketchup.
Scythe weapon skill was a mistake.. seems like all the cool uniques and powerful effects are on long swords. Time to abandon these 50 scythe skill levels and train long swords up from zero.
>>50932490 Desert races are whiter than Americans since they are aryans. You cant look at a silver eyed Iranian and say hes not whiter than the black dyed golem of the west
Should I be using feats whenever I get them? I'm just kinda hoarding them, I've spent 2 so far on Dream Waker 1 and 2 since I heard that's good for mages, but other than that I haven't used any.
>>50939143 You should probably consider getting gourmet and the faith one to automatically pray sooner than later. Really you should just read the the ones that offer some sort of utility and prioritize those since those are the only feats that really matter. Unless you're going solo or playing a chaos shape or something I think the best use of feats is kind of obvious
>>50938338 The longsword bias is weird in that I don't really care for any of the mechanics that absurdly favor them, but other weapon types don't really have an answer for those. Personally I think the only weapon type that's really screwed over is martial arts for not having any artifact, but I do think chakrams have the best weapon bonuses with cleave and parry (and leaving room for a cat paw flurry rune)
>>50939469 I found that Chakram + Scythe can be really good for shredding enemies since both the counter skills and neck hunt skills co-habituate with one another
>find rodwyn the witch behind the baker in Mysilia >she sells food for some reason, sure I'll buy some >it's poisoned and I instantly die What the FUCK
Slime is annoyingly tempting. I really want the convenience of spells as abilities, but also really don't want to deal with that gimmick race. I also suspect the second I get it just the way I like it, gene engineering will somehow end up available for everyone else.
>Your home learns Collecting! Your home learns Recipe Mode! The hearth stone in Vernis has grown to level 5! Frickin' FINALLY. I had the teleporters ready and waiting a year ago. Next character, I'm installing a mod to remove that restriction.
does anybody know how do you adjust potentials into the negatives for custom classes/races the basic sheets only do positive can't seem to find anything about it anywhere, and poking through the game files and code did not enlighten me either
>>50940562 i dont, but in case you dont find anything else: you might be able to add your own feat, apply negatives in the feats code and then assign that feat to your custom chara.
>>50931743 >>50932009 >>50932165 Why wouldn't he? He already stated that he doesn't factor savescumming in when it comes to balance. You're not supposed to have hyper-optimized slimes unless you've spent a gorillian years grinding.
>>50942283 Bro I got 1000 oren to my name, I still live off of yellow flowers and corpse meat, and my highest stat is 19 mag as a sword sage I'm absolutely done for
>>50942371 Might be a bit progression fucking, but if you go far out enough into the ocean you can get to danger level 100 and find oysters that contain great loot at your stage of the game that'll give you an edge, but you gonna be able to breathe underwater and not get instagibbed first
>>50942391 I mean, it works Also it would take like ages to get any worthwhile materials that aren't just fucking granite, sand and bone for the umpteenth time
>>50942383 I appreciate the advice but I probably won't read that spoiler whatever it is, despite my post I'm really enjoying feeling like a pathetic little rat who's struggling just to survive Definitely need to come back later to whatever shenanigans that is though
>>50942402 I mean, that's half the fun of the game Rejecting it is kinda gay and stupid and makes you look like a giant nerd who probably picks his own nose
>got a shark off a random nefia skeleton Uhhh this thing has the super rare tag but it fucking crushes me I guess I'm spending the next 20 minutes just tossing this thing all the way out of here and back to my base, if I can even do that
>>50942439 Unless you have a fridge I don't think it's worth it. It would probably be more practical to find the means to cook it in the dungeon if you're just starting out
>>50942488 The best thing you could probably do at that level is turn it into bonito flakes. I don't see the cooling box holding out until you have cooking or refrigeration down. You could probably even do that on the spot if you have enough wood around you
>>50942439 You're going to die the moment you try to step out of the dungeon If that consoles you it's not worth anything, just afk level fishing from time to time and you will have plenty sharks to use as trophy or something If you can't eat it within the dungeon you could have fun killing something by throwing it at them
>>50942500 >you could have fun killing something by throwing it at them Lol I like this idea Does it disappear after? maybe I can get a funny win against >>50942371
>>50942548 Technically the existence of multiple Manis means that a multiverse exists, which also means that all of our headcanon and/or worlds we play in are all multiple universes that are canon.
>>50942893 He's the President of Marvel and is the guy who produces a good chunk of the Marvel films, including Dr. Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. Maybe the joke was a bit too cryptic.
>>50942898 I don't watch capeshit, no offense. >>50942927 No they are actually Manis from different universes, but you are right in that there is a Mani who is basically idential to God Mani when he was still Human, but he too is from another Universe, just one where he either never became a God, it either took him longer to become a God, or its a Mani that fell through the Planar Rift way early in his arc.
>>50943140 If someone told me that was the actual downside to high speed and old fox lineage I still probably would have done it. I'd have to pretend to think about it a little more though
>>50943398 Being significantly faster than the rest of your companions can be annoying. Sure you have the option of leashing but that can cause different issues. Makes me want an AoE multi-leash for faster toggling.
>>50943482 >The Juere >Farming HAH a Juere farmer would be called a thief or a bandit by any other culture, or even other Juere tribes. I've yet to seen proof that they do anything other than bring misery to the world like the Elea.
>>50943482 The only thing you should probably have some grasp on before going vampire is the basic food mechanics, since you have to carefully select who you feed from like they're food to actually get much out of it. Having some basic idea of what you would do to deal with the weakness too wouldn't hurt I guess.
>>50943516 At a glance of all those monster races it kind of looks like the master races are catsister and demon to me if you don't want to delve into gimmicks, but maybe I'm missing something
>>50943702 At best it can help them not get picked off while you're running through someplace. As soon as combat begins they're likely going to get hit by an AoE because of how abundant they are as early as level 20+ enemies.
>>50943767 Let them ride on your shoulders(they can't die, they'll just get knocked out for a few turns) or get a tanky companion with one of the tank feats like Taunt or Loyalty. It would also help to make sure they're not running some suicidal setup like a low base life companion attempting to melee.
>>50932504 In the spirit of the rogue-likes (proper ones) of eld, bad options are there for fun and/or providing an extra challenge. You know, like the mentalist class from ADOM, or really any class that isn't the wizard or the archer from ADOM. It would be cool if wizards could choose from any of the domains right from the get-go, but I don't agree with wizards being able to use MAG for everything. Having to raise other stats to cast a variety of spells is fun.
>>50943431 After reading the book on lockpicking I had assumed that practice chests were consumables and so I didn't even try crafting one for the first 250 hours.
>>50943806 She's not leashed to you is she? Could try giving her Celestical Fox since it single-handedly fixes her low life problem but it also uses up three gene slots and requires at least 100 feat points.
A more immediate solution could be to try giving her Mage or Hexer DNA instead since they have the same preference for range as Archer but are far more likely to actually move away once things get closer. From what I remember she doesn't have any abilities by default so it's not like she's going to try casting shit.
>>50943846 I thought the wrenches that increase vertical or horizontal storage were talking about their size on the map for a long time despite that making no sense. Not really worth it outside of a grimoire and maybe cooler though
>>50943920 One of these days I should really get around to seeing how the inventory menu can be customized. Currently I just drag shit around so that there's still a gap in the middle, but there's got to be a better setup
>>50943907 >Celestical Fox Kill Misaki and grab her genes, it adds like 15 Life, 5 Speed, and some dark/holy/magic res each 5 level after 10, capping at 105 life and 45 speed. Additionally, you might want to grab Earth Hammer from Opatos since it doubles your life outright when equipped + free earthquake, it's pretty much the babby's first combo of Elin. Later on, if you're okay with cheesing your entire playthrough, you could also grab Y'golo/Y'molonac and be practically immortal. >>50943878 Did you know that if you use it on your self-made container, Kettle will also duplicate the increased space? I've only known that since yesterday, after 10 in-game fucking years. The price jump is quite massive though.
>>50943907 Celestical Fox is a feat which gives extra Life, Speed and some resistances based on how high of a level the character is. At the maximum bonus it's +135 Life(yes this brings her from 25 Life to 160 Life), 45 Speed, 27 Darkness Resistance and 9 Holy/Magic resistance.
You'll have to get the gene from something which already has it such as Misaki in Nefu Village or the Fox Maid from gaining piety with Horome. Either level your alchemy so you're able to craft an elixir of gene or wish for one.
>>50943907 >>50944020 Oh, and reiterating it again because this is the big drawback of it: It uses three gene slots and requires at least 100 feat points; it'll likely cost a little more depending on what else comes on the gene.
Since the younger cat sister has Rare Race it reduces the cost of any 2+ genes by one so that brings Celestical Fox down to two gene slots but it doesn't reduce the feat cost. It takes a decent amount of grinding to reach 100+.
>>50944026 As in companion levels? Basically, only their feat points can only be used for gene stuff. If you mean your own level that only matters for a handful of things If you mean deepest level, I think that only effects certain random item generation stuff outside of nefia
>>50944026 If you're talking about character levels yes it's tied to feat points. Every time you gain a point that's one level and it's based on your total combined skill levels. >>50944045 Kumi books only give four. Shared Diaries only give one unless you've already bonded and caught a silver kitten. It takes a long time no matter what you do unless you abuse high level milk with babies.
>>50944088 It's easy to unlock but that's not the grindy part. You're only getting a free 10 points for it. You're still grinding out 200 coins per diary.
So I've got 20+ farmers with beds made out of pearl and silk and gold but these lazy niggers never level up. The fertility of the site has not improved in like an IRL month wtf am I doing wrong?
>>50944101 It scales with the NPC’s Farming skill. It does improve, but very slowwwwly. Instead make a better bed (high quality rubynus high-comfort bunk bed or a god-tier king bed with a lot of wrench investment) and have some triceratops whipped into farming.
>>50944142 I should really get around to whipping all of them into farmers instead of people who hide mushrooms all over the place or whatever the fuck they are
>>50944101 Soil levels got nerfed shortly after the game first released. Getting from +1 soil to +2 is pretty easy with a king's bed but anything beyond that(if it's even possible anymore) takes a long time.
>>50944596 There is no dump stat in this game, so everything is useful to everyone somehow. Not needing to use your rune slot for force weapon on all your weapons gives a lot of flexibility.
>NoForcedLand removes the requirement to claim the starting land at the beginning of a new game, allowing you to leave the tutorial area immediately. wow you can be a true hobo with a mod now
>>50944678 That's impressive, what do you even do? The towns are not that interesting and there isn't enough variation in nefia to keep it interesting imo.
>>50944919 If you're shooting or casting I don't know why you wouldn't dual wield for more sources of stat bonuses. I don't think the spell chance penalty for dual wield is that hard to overcome. If you're just doing melee two handed might be better, but I have no idea
I think I'm hitting bedrock for magic food ideas after these. The only thing I can think of is somehow getting more undead god meat an going 2 of those with some metal meat, but the less farmed stuff, the less potentials anyway so there's bound to be new shortcomings there
>>50945703 I think it's important to note that noa never said he was going to do anything in that regard, only that he was considering it and there are a lot of things he's publicly mused about but never followed up on.
>>50945808 I'm thinking more in consideration for duplication, and I'm playing a pretty magic focused character. I've thought about doing the one with strength just in consideration for longswords mostly, and liked the idea of fitting more endurance in there. There is a more practical alternative of just rotating between shortcake and some more endurance focused dragon meat thing, but I just wanted to see how far I could take things.
Is there a way to download mods from the workshop directly without using Steam? I'd like to install these and they don't seem to have been uploaded somewhere else. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/comments/3394278209 https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/comments/3399663099
>>50946196 We could do that back then, but Steam changed their API so it no longer works. You can check the elin thread on rin.ru though. There’s a guy who regularly updates the game and all the mods from the workshop.
>>50946102 It was never bad. You just can't be a retard about it and have to stat accordingly, as well as use statuses and the like to your advantage. Two hand can be retarded and still perform passably, but hits a curve earlier. dw is fine and has its advantages and weaknesses.
If rankis returns with time stop, shiva builds might make a comeback in earnest.
>>50946336 No dump stats in this game, anon. Dodge tank is a joke with how many things shit on the evasion roll same way absorption builds get shat on by vorpal and other penetration mechanics. The game really likes to punish stacking a single thing.
Endurance still necessary for stamina, carry weight, spellcasting, resisting debuff's, etc.
>>50946481 >Cha Party slots (useful for lonely soul even if solo), summon slots, recruitment, mind domain, investment cost reduction, summon spells, etc.
Even learning which is the most useless ATM has been acknowledged that it's underused and he'll be giving it more purpose.
>Unless you are a mage that stacks MAG & casting Unaware of how sharply spell power curves, I see.
>>50946605 >Party slots (useful for lonely soul even if solo), summon slots, recruitment, mind domain, investment cost reduction, summon spells, etc. yeah but once you reach a certain point there's no real upside to improving it. Like 100 CHA is enough to stop unless you really want unseen hand or something >Unaware of how sharply spell power curves, I see. Ok what else would you improve for a mage then? From stats I could see WIL, maybe LER and END, sure. Rest of the stats would be kinda useless. For skills I legit can't think of anything, maybe dodge but it's not like you want to get hit and you'll prob be using yglo anyway. Like ok fine you also need memorization but apart from that there's fucking nothing. Literacy is one of those reach a threshold skills and then it's pointless
Would farmer be the most fitting option for a chef-esque class? Farming legs is useful and they even get gorumet at start but I would quite like to also use the kitchen knives shorts swords and farmer has no potential for those. Constantly using platinum coins for potential is tiresome. Purely a dumb roleplay thing.
>>50946622 >yeah but once you reach a certain point there's no real upside to improving it. Mind domain and summon spells, 2 charisma is worth 1 investment skill and kettle is always greedy.
>Ok what else would you improve for a mage then? The fact that different domains require different stats alone would be reason enough, but there's plenty of reason to take other stuff. End, lrn, will, per, str are all used to resist debuffs. Str and end for carry capacity. Dex and per for def and dodge. Wall of flesh is not perfect, especially if you're hosting. Per is used for magic device. And even if it's just whacking with the elemental staff, having some way to deal with antimagic mobs is nice.
Since spell power curves after 400, eventually one starts to look for other ways to get damage even as a pure caster. Slimes are great because they can get rapid cast. The new unseen hand weapon penetrates one level of resistance for sword, touch and arrow spells, and all nether resistance. Or look into putting scar or nightmare into one's rotation, that kind of thing. TLDR, diminishing returns and the presence of counters to everything means stacking one thing is inefficient.
I wish the chef hat wasn't so expensive...being able to insert any ingredient as your main catalyst for food recipes is very nice... Also more benefits to growing things like chilli peppers and lemons and the like.
>>50946924 Ecopo farming should get more depth, right now it's just a matter if you're willing to switch gods for a while or waste a couple of hours of your life doing the same few clicks over and over
