I didn't like episode 1 that much, but this one is much better so far. Still not as good as higurashi though, but I should stop comparing them at this point because of how different they are. The main difference is that higurashi took a small set of character, made them very likeable quickly before the serious parts in the second half, umineko 1 on the hand took a large cast and didn't give them enough development and as a result it didn't hit as hard. This episode does everything that I wanted the first episode to do, gave moments to some characters that made me more connected to them. Rosa in particular is interesting to me now because she looks influenced by what ryukishi had in mind for Satoko's mother. My other favorites are Shanon because she is cute, or Maria because she is also cute and gave me good bible black vibes and has a good black Hanekawa laugh.

Not much really. It seems that episode 1 wanted me to believe that Beatrice did it in order to get revived, which makes it obviously false and also doesn't make sense why we are repeating everything again if she achieved what she wanted, and her desire for Battler to believe her isn't enough reason. There is also the fact that Battler's father told him that he is probably going to die before everything started, and his wife didn't react much to it and seemed to me she was trying to distract Battler from it, so she might be onboard too. Battler (more like ryukishi making him) forgetting about it later entirely is a proof of its significance. There might be another case of fake body here, Battler even suspects it at some point and he might be right but that limits the number of people who can prepare a body on an isolated island, so I don't know. I believe there were fake deaths but I am not sure which ones. So basically I don't think I have enough clues yet and didn't think much about it.

Yeah his reasoning is understandable specially with everything presented in episode 1, but it doesn't feel right that the character that likes to appear very manly would word it like that (although one could argue it was the narrator's words, but still everything stands), specially that the scene has no purpose other than to force a conversation between her and Rosa which doesn't seem to provide much.

If you want to play with the umineko project, go for it and download the latest patch from their website, it will just work.
If you want to play it with 07th mod (for og sprites and other things), then I am not sure if you can apply it here. I didn't try since this one seemed already good enough for me and I didn't want to bother with any extra setup.
There was a spreadsheet somewhere with the differences between them, you can look at it and decide which one to go with. If you choose the 07th mod it might be better to find another link.
Looking at vndb history of the release you mentioned, its last update was in last August. I wouldn't wait for something that might never come out, but you can ask in their discord if you want to. The mod seems to be improvement for the umineko project, so if you are going with the 07th mod it shouldn't matter for you, and what it adds doesn't seem that interesting to me to wait for.

The best English version is to emulate the Switch version with a translation patch found here: https://andolga.github.io/umineko-catbox-english/

It has more content than any other version of Umineko, featuring adaptations of almost every piece of bonus material in the series' history, although you only unlock it after finishing the main series. This is the only console release with this content, and it contains some content even the original PC bonus content releases don't have.

It also has the best visuals, in particular this actually has some differences from the popular 07th Mod and Umineko Project versions, as they both base their work on the PS3 version where this has new assets those versions don't, and not just for the bonus content. The people at 07th Mod straight up recommend you use the switch version instead unless you REALLY want original sprites.

This version also has the best translation. The bonus content translations are from various scattered sources so they're not as clean, but the main series uses a revised version of UmiPro's TL, which is the better TL because it has more consistent terminology due to being made when the entire series was already finished, rather than having to adapt to new episodes like the official Witch Hunt TL did. This is particularly important in a series as long, and detail oriented, as Umineko is.

Before you worry about censorship, don't worry. It's literally impossible to play Umineko in English with censorship, because the censorship in the console releases is so minor and easy to revert that every single English release does so. There's minor version differences like the console versions having a couple of slightly different tracks, but there's no censorship compared to the shamefully butchered Higurashi console releases.

Satoko is canonically got the least chance to end up with K1. R07 wants her to be with Rika, K1 is for Mion/Rena. Satoko got a better chance ending up with Ooishi, another character that we see not having any ship than she is with K1 who only showed those emotions to Rena mostly.

In the actual novel, Keiichi sees her too much as a little sister to protect, as she isn't a "woman" yet. I don't get the impression that Keiichi is a lolicon either. I somewhat agree with your post, Keiichi x Satoko is something that would for sure happen when they're a little bit older due to a number of reasons. The Nii-Nii larp is honestly the number 1 thing that is going to keep them from being really honest about their feelings for one another due to the fear of breaking what they already have by wanting more thus hurting the other. But as the years pass by and with Satoshi either coming back and forcing the Nii-Nii larp to end forcing them to really understand their feelings for each other or with them reaching a boiling point where they can no longer stand to keep up the charade of nothing more than just pretend siblings.

We see in Tatarigoroshi when they're pushed to their absolute limits they WILL be more open and honest about their feelings, and unless it's forced upon them it's gonna take years for them to reach that point.
