>TLDR: post published sources (academic/book/news) that discuss touhou, NOW

/jp/, I need your help.

The ultimate hijack is to get touhou onto the wikipedia main page. However, this can only happen if it achieves the "good" or "featured article" status (meaning it's well-written, comprehensive etc.).

For now though, we just need to collect sources for the article.
BUT you can't just cite some random site. Think of it as a literature review. You are summarizing what has been PROFESSIONALLY published. Hence

Avoid:
>things published by ZUN or affiliates
>self-published sources (youtube, blogs, forums)
>any wikis!

Prefer:
>books, chapters, papers; theses (masters or grad)
>news articles (ANN, dengeki etc.)
>interviews can be OK
>japanese language is OK

The depth doesn't matter, but try finding broader sources first, then specific aspects later (publication history, gameplay, story, non-game media, reception).

Have you tried asking from r*ddit or other Touhou sites like MotK or projectshrimemaiden etc. first? You're not going to get anything helpful from /jp/ anymore, not nowadays at least.

How else are wikis gonna evolve? I'm also doing my fair share. I got https://stars.library.ucf.edu/cgi/viewcontent.cgi?article=1418&context=etd2024

Sadly, this will likely not be considered a "reliable source" according to ENwiki metrics as it appears to be self-published and, even then, scarcely contains anything fruitful that can be extracted for wikipedia.

This is the depressing part about doujin works and especially touhou. Amount of fan creation and "internet popularity" doesn't mean anything on-wiki if it doesn't get enough press/reception. A wikipedian will tell you to your face that a massive one-man game project (including worldbuilding and music) is "fancruft" and that popularity is useless w/o press coverage. Touhou is an anomally where there's enough press (in japanese at least) but it's hidden between fan content on google, plus it lacks critical reception because game journalists. pic rel. </seethe>

Why should they?
It's not like it's the responsibility of every fan to waste their time on such things.

I'm certain that most fans can't care less what happens on wikipedia. But there are a few who do want to at least cement touhou in the history of the ENwiki mainpage. Whether it's to contribulte to free knowledge, to prove that us touhou fans are as capable as FF, sonic, and god of war fans, or to get that dopamine boost of accomplishment.

I hate Wikipedia for removing the “List of Touhou Project characters” page
Oh sure I can get a list of shittable streets from some Indian village but god forbid you list some game characters

>>50941987
why would they ever bother removing a page like that?

Not popular enough. Try being a real series like
