As much as I like the way Tsukihime is written, I'm very happy it's a visual novel and the adaptation sucks anyway because because it's very hard to take Shiki seriously when you actually look at him. He works really well as a kind of Poe/Lovecraft protagonist but he doesn't have the appearance to match so seeing pretty boy whiney edgy fucko just throws all the delerium/paranoia/insanity he's good at depicting out of the window. At least very little of that matters in Melty. But still, have him look like a fuckin' weirdo, it's fine, it'd be more charming anyway. Don't have to make him outwardly ugly either, Yukito in AIR accomplished similar (though that wasn't a horror game)

An aspect of Satsuki that I really like is how it's made clear that she wasn't all there before getting bit but because of how little Shiki knew her, the extent of which is kept deliberately vague. Coincidentally, earlier in the thread people were quoting Nasu talking about how his outlook has changed and I wonder how he'll write her route now that he's clearly less disillusioned.
Although come to think of it there was that scene in the remake where Arihiko can clearly sense something off about her and warns Shiki to keep some distance or else both him and Satsuki will end up unhappy, which sounds about right.

For the original:
Tsukihime > Kagetsu Tohya > Melty Blood Re-Act (Story Mode and then Arcade) > Melty Blood Act Cadenza > Melty Blood Actress Again (preferably read Kara no Kyoukai before this as its main character is present here)

For the remake:
Tsukihime Remake > Type Lumina (pretty simple, huh?)
Some of Type Lumina presumes you've already played through the OG melty games so take that as you will
