What would the death toll be if HRT was actually, truly banned? and by that I mean, magical scenario where DIY isn't a thing or is banned and also all raws are destroyed, just any loophole you could think of is no longer an option.

If literally no one could transition it would be bad.
I already had SRS and laser and electro everywhere and many surgeries so I would just be a menopausal woman i guess.
I could never actually kill myself. Although I have had psychotic depression I am too much of a whiney bitch to actually kms. But I could see myself refusing to work and becoming voluntarily homeless if I was psychotic enough.

** sorry I meant to say if no one could transition it wouldn't be as bad because there wouldn't be the jealousy factor of watching youngshits transition.
For people with severe autism, jealousy can induce extreme mental states and cause suicide or murder

Not high, but much higher than is conscionable to accept.
The body gets used to the hormones it's on at any given time. If you fuck with the hormones too quickly you can cause actual insanity. I imagine many trannies would try to ration and then taper but still there really would be people who would lose it and not just because they're ugly, but because of psychosis.

It's not exactly complicated to remove your nuts. Trannies in all history except the past 50 years dealt with being eunuchs without taking E, with the exception of some clever Scythians maybe. In any case, it's not the end of the world. You still feminize. You still get little bewbs. You never go bald. Etc.

it would be extremely painful.

yeah definitely this. if you actually take away the option of evading the law, people will take revenge instead. the only reason oppressive laws don't invite this response more often is because the most agentic people, who are also the most likely to take revenge, figure out how to get around them.

there aren't agentic people, there is only agentic action. many of the transgenders who act so agentically in their pursuit of hrt...are not so in many other contexts. nonetheless i do agree their would be murders, but more likely other forms of crime, and i think there would be more transgenders who would try really hard to get hrt and upon failing would like try stealing someone's leftover box of prostate cancer meds or their menopausal mother's estrogel and the magical mystery police would catch them at the next estrogen audit or something, and then they would just give up and consign themselves to misery and live very unhappy

if the closing the loopholes was done with magically competent laws and government action and people, and not through the hand of god coming in and plucking away the hrt when the tranny reaches out to it, probably the death toll/lost QALYs of cissoids would be not insignificant. cissoids need hormonal medication and making it way more difficult to get and scarier/more annoying to take/store would lead to prostate cancer deaths and stunted research and precocious puberty and miserable menopausals. especially in countries with more informal pharmaceutical management, e.g. the third world. not to mention people in jail

I feel like it would be hard to track. Having lived as trans in a time when people largely didn't know about us--when many people don't see the path well-trodden in front of them, they don't try at all, or don't think to.
If medical transition was truly made almost impossible, I think you'd get a significant chunk of us simply repressing (knowingly or unknowingly), being substance-addicted, self-injurious or self-endangering, angry, depressive, abusive and/or abused, dying deaths of despair. Those people wouldn't necessarily be counted; they'd just blend into the population of fucked-up cis people.
In the 1950s, how many of the tranquilized women and day-drunk men who hated their partners, their children, and their lives, were that way because they were queer? We'll never know.

How would this be enforced?
>magical scenario where DIY isn't a thing
What like, so it becomes a controlled substance? Will the DEA come raid your house if you're hoarding it?
>all raws are destroyed
Menopausal women need it?
I don't know about deaths but these factors would probably have a pretty significant negative societal impact, beyond what you'd get in a hypothetical scenario where HRT just never existed at all.
