>>4551096 >poor young squid girl is just trying to do her job and gets stuck on a desert island with one of the hottest pop stars of her era, who packed thigh highs but no shirt
>>4551245 >that sidenote i cant tell if it's because they're proud they got paid to draw this or they feared that people would think this is what they believe
I didn't see anyone bring her up yet, so here's a new character for the Pokémon anime, Navi. She is a new main character that will be traveling with Liko and Roy. Her Pokémon is Ditto
It's Zelda(and Metroid's) anniversary year, and in the past they've done the Zelda stuff during the summer months, so I wouldn't rule out a shadowdropped port of some Zelda game.
But really I need IntSys to lock in and get Fire Emblem Fortune's Weave out soon and with yuri. I am fiending. I tried all those indie FE clones and they all feel like GBA/PoR/RDfags making a slow, plodding meandering SRPG out of spite, with no quality of life implementations from modern FEs. That and their yuri "support" options are often blatantly half-assed afterthoughts just to say they have it. I have more respect for something like Unicorn Overlord which doesn't even humor the pretense.
>>4553013 There's no good reason why they shouldn't make a Zelda game with a character creator at this point that lets you choose to play as a girl. They're okay with not having the traditional green tunic and you got to play as Zelda, it's time. I'm not expecting it of course but it would be nice.
>>4553573 >story ended in today's episode >what looks to be a year+ of fucking around because TPC miraculously decided to give Game Freak however long they need to make gen 10 Time to get comfy.
>>4553270 Can't think of anything, maybe anon was referring to the hub, but it's really just a shop with more steps. >>4553575 >story ended in today's episode Yuri status?
>>4553679 No romance whatsoever, though note that the story is over in the sense of the overarching narrative about Terapagos. The main cast is still together and will be going on lower-stakes adventures from now on.
>>4553270 The problem a lot of FE clones do these days >not adapting the 3DS-to-present improved menu flow including selecting weapons/combat forecast >copying or trying to emulate the weapon/magic triangle but introducing so much random bullshit for the sake of trying to bruteforce mechanical diversity like PoR/RD having a million different mage and armor and whatever variants but making the "weapon triangle" bonus/penalty as frivolous as it was pre-DS >intuitive enemy range indicator toggling(although even titles like Radiant Dawn just straight up disabled this and tried to pass it off as real difficulty) >copying the support system but keeping it just as obtuse or frivolous as older titles >slow ass combat flow
Obviously it doesn't apply to every single one, Dark Deity does some but doesn't do all of it, Astral Throne does some but doesn't do all of it, Redemption Reapers which actually had a fucking Fire Emblem director working on it did some but not all, etc. but it's hard not to notice shit that made the 3DS games and even the Switch titles flow so smooth even without a second screen in the latter's case is just not accommodated for no real reason. Awakening is over a decade old, this is not like this is Kaga hammering out a one man job in SRPG Maker, you're either just making a worse user experience on purpose or you're expecting people to pay for amateur hour. I am grateful we're past the point in indie SRPGs where the only things that got made were X-COM or FFT/Disgaea but there is just too much out there to be spending time on shit that don't respect your time.
>>4554246 >we're past the point in indie SRPGs where the only things that got made were X-COM or FFT/Disgaea What are some indie FFT/Disgaea for example? I didn't know there were so many.
>>4554550 There's definitely levels to the crack though. There's a difference between pairing 2 characters who regularly interact and 2 characters who have never interacted at all
>>4554553 >Mario hosts a bunch of sporting events and parties >introduces Rosalina to his ex >so long Gay Bowser wahoo
When the actual mainline Super Mario games have a total cutscene length of like 4 minutes you gotta play a little fast and loose. That said, maybe this conversation would be different if they included guitarist Rosalina in Odyssey.
>>4555633 Katt is the only girl in the sausage fest supreme that is SF64 anyway so not even the idea of yuri from two females existing in the same space can be found.
>>4555640 He only directed Bayonetta 1 which is the only actual good entry, so that series will probably never be good again. He's not out of a job either since he's currently making Okami 2.
>>4555640 I mean he's always been like that, when a character pairing poll came out for games he directed and Bayonetta/Jeanne was an option he specifically went out of his way to say they weren't romantic and only teammates.
>>4555640 Eh who fucking cares anymore. 3 was a dud, the spinoff was an abysmal flop and the franchise is probably done for after all the drama and Nintendo will probably put heavy scrutiny on any future Platnium projects after how apparently fucked 3's development was. Even weeks after launch the only people that seemed to have anything to say just seemed to be whatever losers actually self-inserted into Luka and resented how much people just didn't give a shit about their self-insert ship. Now Kamiya has to nut up or shut up and actually get Okami 2 out the door. If anything this just speaks more to him not being able to leave his attention whore rockstar dev behavior behind in the 00s and actually just get to fucking work. Same as Nagoshi being a starfucker like Kojima and doing god knows what making Gang of Dragon. Meanwhile the Yakuza guys still at Sega are still shitting out Like a Yakuzas like clockwork.
>>4555733 >Meanwhile the Yakuza guys still at Sega are still shitting out Like a Yakuzas like clockwork Stripped down, cookie-cutter remakes with all plot changes being nearly universally reviled. Better to make 0 good games than 40 bad ones.
>Star Fox releases and sells well >Nintendo develops a sequel to Star Fox 64 that doesn't suck (finally) >add Miyu and Fay (or some new versions of them) >Since Fox is yaoibait and Falco is acesexual naturally they will be paired
>>4557568 >the team behind Dread has been hit with layoffs That's either independent of Metroid 5's development or a sign that they have finished active development on Metroid 5.
>>4557568 MercurySteam is independent of Nintendo and the fact that they held it together long enough after Castlevania to put out two Metroid games was a miracle in and of itself. Then they went and fucked it all on their live service game and a God of War clone nobody cared about. I doubt this is going to be an NLG situation where Nintendo liked them so much that they bought them to avoid losing a valuable team, if they were going to do it they would've done it years ago. Or for an independent team like Intelligent Systems interweave them with Nintendo's production lines so much they're basically protected if heavily dependent on producing first party titles.
>>4557570 I get what you're saying but Metroid 5 is Dread. Really with how busy Sakamoto has been lately I'd be surprised if any Metroid game is more than just a title on a sheet of paper right now.
>>4557811 >but Metroid 5 is Dread a lot of people think title decides subseries and that bringing back said title is all it would take to fix said series. People constantly ask for a Sonic Adventure 3 to fix the Sonic series when Sonic Heroes was Sonic Adventure 3
>>4557816 And Metroid Dread was 11 years after Other M and 19 years after Fusion. Tomodachi Dream was 13 years after the last Tomodachi game. It's been 8 years since the last Rhythm Heaven. 10 years since the last Star Fox. I think using "time since last game" is a bad indicator for anything especially when the company in question is Nintendo with its enormous catalog of IPs. Even when they have a dedicated team it doesn't even mean anything. EPD8's latest project wasn't a 3D Mario game or adjacent like Captain Toad, but a 3D Donkey Kong game, and then even that was mostly new recruits, its director was still working at Square Enix as late as 2020. If MercurySteam is dead in the vapor and Retro could barely be fucked to get Metroid Prime 4 out the door who honestly could be working on a Metroid title? Besides maybe NLG. They've delivered enough cash in Mario's name they've earned the right to work on a smaller franchise.
>>4557920 Whenever I get the strong urge to replay an old game I haven't touched in years, a remaster or new addition to that series gets announced within 6 months, it's uncanny how often this has happened. I just beat Super Metroid for the 2nd time this afternoon so expect a Super remake soon.
>>4557922 Yeah I know but they also printed money with Luigi's Mansion and Mario Strikers rather than being left out to die, so I think they've earned the benefit of the doubt.
