I'm sad they had to make changes for the rerelease but I think it's a great value with all of the content they're bundling together and the new stuff they're adding. It just frustrates me that there isn't a "definitive" version out there with all the good stuff.

I don't agree with the censorship that will affect Blue Reflection Quartet but it's not surprising, I can't blame Koei Tecmo for it. The new content based on Blue Reflection Ray and Blue Reflection Sun is appealing. I plan to play it.

I think I played Blue Reflection wrong. Like maybe I was rushing the story events without knowing I didn't have to so the game went quickly for me and I didn't even max a single social link with anyone. I just did what I thought I was supposed to do, like npcs told me to do this and I was all, okay but I could have waited and had more off days.

That depends on your taste and what not, the Blue Reflection characters have different personalities after all, Uta and Chihiro couldn't be more different and of course, some characters have medium or even large breasts, other characters are flat or have small chests...one can also consider the differenthair styles...again, it depends, but at least most of them are high school students.

I'm not sure I would say there's a specific "right" way to play the game. The first Blue Reflection offers the player an unusual amount of freedom, and it's largely up to you to strike whatever balance you find enjoyable. The game does go by pretty quickly if you advance the story events as early as possible.
>>738666918
Playable Kirara and Ruka are nice to see. Shame about no Uta, though.
I'm a little curious about how they're handling talents for Kirara and the newcomers. Kirara already has a non-combatant talent list, and the newcomers apparently don't have date events or anything, which is how the original characters get talent points.

I just mentioned the characters that judging their designs are meant to be conventionally attractive compared to other characters. Rin and Kokoro aren't ''sticcs'', they are the chubbiest characters in the series, they aren't ''fat'' or anything but it's obvious that they are less thin than other girls in the series and their 3D models reflect that, both Rin and Kokoro clearly have breasts and Kokoro is the character with the biggest chest in the franchise. Yuri has large breasts and long black hair, also, Shihori tells Yuri ''you have great potential, but you're letting it go to waste'', and speaking of Shihori...come on, she's the girl who has a passion for fashion and what not, of course she's considered attractive in-universe. Both Yuri and Shihori have bigger breasts than Hinako and longer hair. Morisakia Alesia Yu, well, she's the only character of that list that has a small chest, but her face or features and long blode hair are things that can make her more conventioanlly attractive than other girls...and Xiao Meiqi and Ayami Ikoma, they are more characters with long hair and medium breasts at least. There are many characters that at least one person will consider sexy or attractive but I feel that those 7 girls are meant to be the most conventionally attractive characters even if 2 of them aren't ''sticcs'', because they have bigger chests than other characters, long hair, blonde hair, a different face compared to other characters or all of the above.

BR2 technically does have that feature, but you can only swap with the one character in the support slot. That was actually enough to have most characters participating in combat in the original release, though. Quartet is adding a lot of characters.

I don't know, maybe it's just a case of ''there is beauty in simplicity'' or beauty in the mundane, something like that. They are just school uniforms and aren't meant to be erotic or sexy but I guess it's something that people can still find erotic or attractive.

Hey, you can't just ignore the fact that fan service, suggestive or erotic content in anime style games is in a bad place right now, especialyl if the characters are young or at least look younger than other characters. It's been years and we have so many examples of censorship imposed by the platform holders. Sony started censoring games in 2018, Omega Labyrinth Z was a mess, it's release in the west was cancelled even though it was rated by the ESRB and PEGI without issues, after that many games were censored on PS5 and maybe PS5. The Xbox One version of Gal*Gun returns was cancelled, and according to other developers/publishers, Microsoft has rejected other games for Xbox consoles with fan service. Nintendo started censoring games in 2024 especially in the west and multiple games have been cancelled or, at best (if one wants to see it that way), have been released with removed or altered content. And Valve, well, they have banned a lot of games throughout the years, a recent and relevant example is Lover Kiss: Endless Memories, because the game doesn't have explicit content (it's a game developed specifically for consoles after all), with Valve/Steam, it's like flipping a coin.
So yeah, you have to keep in mind all that, nowadays Sony might be in a weird position where they allow more than Nintendo and maybe Microsoft (multiple Neptunia games were released for PS4 uncensored in the west last year) but at the same time, wouldn't allow something like Senran Kagura: Estival Versus or Omega Labyrinth, and in fact, perhaps none of the platform holders for consoles (Nintendo, Sony and Microsoft) would allow those two games nowadays. It's too bad and I don't like it, but the truth is, If Koei Tecmo tried to publish Blue Refleciton Quartet, and as such, the first Blue Reflection uncensored, it would only be released in Asia for Nintendo Platforms and PS5 worldwide, not to mention GOG, maybe.

I am checking the site and lol they buried the fact that Sun has a male protagonist. All of what you said is most likely true and I can sympathize with their position, but ultimately, I'm a customer, not a charity. It's the devs' job to provide me a game I want to play. I can't make Sony and Nintendo stop censoring, believe me, I tried, and if the rerelease is going to be butchered like this, even if it was necessary, why would I not either just buy/pirate the original or buy/play something else. And all things considered, it's on Koei Tecmo for shipping one single censored version because they're lazy instead of separate cucked/uncucked versions. Same with Compile Heart who have been doing that since 2020. Here, have something from TurretGirls, a game by the Bullet Girls devs that aren't afraid to give you the goods. You haven't been able to do this in a Koei Tecmo game photo mode since 2017.

>>738722006

>>
>>738722095
It's just something worth mentioning because if the game was available for consoles, it wouldn't have that level of fanservice or the content would be different between the PC and consolé versions. The game can have that fanservice mostly because it's a PC exclusive, which is rare for most developers.
>>
File: Hotaru Sacred Union.jpg (1.2 MB)
>>738722259
The difference is that I bought it while I'm not going to buy this botched Blue Reflection rerelease because it's blatantly inferior to the original. I bought LoveR Kiss and Tokyo Clanpool (after it was uncensored) too.
Again, it's Koei Tecmo's job to provide me with something I want to buy and play. I'm not their charity even if circumstances may be difficult. If they release a non-pozzed of Quartet somewhere, I'll step right up. Until then, I'm not subsidizing an inferior product. It disappoints me greatly to see how the console makers seemingly have these companies' balls in a vice.

Brown Dust 2? Or did you mean to say Blue Reflection 2? The latter was censored from the concept phase to be compliant with Snoy policies. That's not something you can undo with a simple mod, it was compromised from the root.

Yes, earlier this year. The reason it took so long is because they wanted to release the patch alongside an official fully uncensored physical PC release (which you can buy on PlayAsia or Eastasiasoft's new online shop), which took a while to come together because they had to convince Compile Heart who had never done such a thing before to greenlight it.
Give them props, this was quite a ballsy move.

The games never really make a big deal about it, but reflectors do seem to have pretty substantially enhanced strength, judging from how they can casually lift and push objects that likely weigh 5000+ kg.
>>
>>
>>738758187
Canonically speaking, reflectors when they aren't transformed are just a regular human, the first game establishes that Hinako can move freely as a reflector and in the sequel when Hiori and other girls are running or excercising Hiori says something about not relying on their reflector powers too much. A reflector should have improved strength, speed, stamina and special powers/abilities, like a typical magical girl. Even when they don't use weapons like in Pretty Cure, it's still established ''when a character transforms, she's stronger than any regular human''.
But then this means that Hiori can lift that column even without transforming and that's...ridiculous.

The characters in Tie can also conjure their weapons and use magic without their costumes. It seems to operate under slightly different rules than the first game, which isn't entirely unreasonable given the nature of the setting. My rationalization is that, as they're in a location somewhat akin to the Commons, the reflectors are essentially always in a "transformed" state outside of the school, even if they haven't yet reached a high enough ether threshold for their costume and such to materialize.

I've enjoyed a fair number of Gust's games, but they have always been inconsistent at best when it comes to gameplay, especially when trying new things. They've occasionally managed to do pretty well with the Atelier series in that regard, but not much else.
It's a little frustrating that some of their games are on the cusp of having solid gameplay, and really wouldn't take much effort to fix. Both Blue Reflection games have good mechanics, but that's easy to overlook because the difficulty is so low that there's no reason to engage with them. Ar tonelico 2 is similar, in that it would have excellent combat if it was just rebalanced and polished a bit. Instead of at least doing that for the sequel, though, they tossed the whole system aside in favor of a new, even more half-baked battle system.
Blue Reflection: Second Light can actually be pretty enjoyable on the highest difficulty setting, but they inexplicably decided to lock it behind clearing the game once. It could still stand to be balanced a bit better, but it's a big step up from the completely mindless cakewalk of the default difficulties. The release of Quartet would be a great opportunity to rebalance things a bit, since even something as simple and easy as some numerical adjustments could make a big difference, but I don't think it's going to happen.

My favorite game's been trashed for years by people who don't care much for it, just the series it's a part of, and things got worse over time.
