>>738727976 I notice you always lose a lot of health on our /v/ thread lobbies. Bad draw order luck on the block cards, or do you not take too many block cards in the first place? I'm just glad shop had tent after I got the gold pearl start and nothing else better for me to buy with the gold
Are Neow bonuses equally weighted? I have played like 20 games since the new patch on beta and yet to see the new options. I just keep getting shit like Lost Coffer and Golden Pearl over and over. I'm so sick of seeing Pearl it's so boring.

>>738728152 I assume they are I got Silver Tress, Fishing Rod and Kaleidoscope the first 3 runs after the update
>>738727836 Vigored Eradicate with Reaper form and Borrowed time is such an insane combo that needs one turn setup >22x6-9 damage replay 1, then doom doubles the damage again

>>738729415 She's not overpowered She just has footwork in a game where you're not punished for playing it There's no amount of tweaking that you can do to make up for the fact that she has dex scaling She could do literally 0 damage and still win runs just off parrying shield and letter opener, and she STILL wouldn't be fun

>>738737198 >>738737307 I accidentally played Time's up one turn earlier. If I had waited one more turn to play it I could've done 400+ instead of 278.
>>738728459 yea ive been getting into regent for this too. >8 vigor at start of combat >decisions, decisions into royal gamble, 27+3 stars on first round 12x30 damage radiate to everyone Also having arsenal and necro giving me 3 strength every time he gives the group souls is rad
>>738722906 >not a skill so can't be targeted by Second Wind >only True Grit and Burning Pact can reliably target it >when the card is exhausted this way, it plays ONE TIME >then it is added back to your discard pile What a piece of shit. Why would you ever take this over Whirlwind, Stomp, or even 2x Breakthrough?
>>738738014 No you don’t understand, if you have thrash it can boost it by 16 and next turn you draw thrash and this again and boost thrash even more, infinite thrash fodder bro
>>738739961 Looking at Xecnar's defect tier list helped me. I don't look at it while I'm playing or anything like that and still take shit I like that he ranked low but it helped me notice a few cards he ranked up at the top were really good and I was overlooking them. In particular hailstorm and subroutine. Subroutine just makes it so you can add basically every power to your deck for free as long as you have draw to sustain in. Hailstorm is just consistent AoE that solves hallway fights while you hide behind frost orb defense.
I still love 0 cost builds and win with them often so unless you hate fun I wouldn't follow his list exactly. But subroutine and hailstorm really help almost every defect run.

>>738746483 Im doing okay so far, should I make decisions inexhaustable? I dont have much star generation but I do have a genesis higher up in the deck.
>>738746704 I learned earlier that multicasting conq doesnt quadruple damage, but just increases it by several turns so its not actually that great cause you dont even have the sword anyway.
>>738748382 idk probably meant for you to exhaust mostly souls and some strikes/defends for the intangible. Just never seems like a better idea than to keep rolling with the souls
>>738748382 >thinning deck is very strong, so lets make it very costly and give benefit only if you exhaust 9 cards then they make old Stoke that had zero downsides, cost 0 and even drew you all new hand to compensate for all strikes, curses, defends and statuses it exhausted
I love necro, but she feels so fucking weak act one. How do I survive an early forced elite? Like sometimes she just gets bodied by the hard pool fights, so you only have 3 fights worth of rewards to get there.
>>738735047 if anyone's wondering why this opinion is so common on 4chan, you must not have a little cousin or anything. most kids watch youtube and twitch guys who can't use certain words or challenge certain opinions or play eroge or anything lewd or anything japanese, or even play multiplayer without disabling chat and usernames. rather than be honest they pretend oh what i want to do and be and think perfectly aligns with how to excel in my chosen career. the kids on 4chan now follow the example of fearful unnuanced people who can't be themselves at risk of being fired. people who are tracked across every website for any faux pas so other people exactly like them can make money off this weird game of hall monitor whack-a-mole shaming for dollar. sad but truth
This game is shockingly ugly. Proof that leftists have no aesthetic sense
I'm not a deckbuilder guy, but I've played a few over my lifetime. The Pokemon Trading Card Game for Gameboy Color, Yu-Gi-Oh! Forbidden Memories, Hearthstone, Balatro. Generally I expect this type of game to look good, because all they have to do is make the cards look good.
>>738749335 my comparison about old stoke still stands, clad has a lot of draw, especially with exhaust, but old stoke still drew you card for each it exhausted. Eidolon literally doesn't do anything unless you have full hand. Clearly that has less to do with balance and more with Anthony throwing random shit at the wall

>>738752257 Ironclad is entirely dependent on multi-hits and strength stacking now. People want the big single hit attacks, but they're trash without a thrash deck. FIGHT ME! is one of the best cards ironclad can get, and if you can get sword boomerang, FIGHT ME! and a couple other multi-hit cards, every fight becomes a race. In multiplayer this is different, but in single player you can effectively run Ironclad without any defensive cards.
>Failing a10 necro runs on the act 3 bosses all day. >Get Erradicate/Borrowed Time/Lethality. This combo being so easy feels wrong. Surprised it hasn't been nerfed.
Is this the real lightning orb spam setup? >A1 Yeah I only play multiplayer so I'm trying to get singleplayer ascension up occasionally. If you're going all in on spam evoking orbs, then you don't need anything more than a single orb slot, meaning you can safely run 2 Bulk Up+ for FREE 6 Str 6 Dex especially if you're running Subroutine too. You won't get anywhere without Storm though because that and Thunders are your real power. 3 Thunder+ is 24 damage per lightning orb evoke, on top of the default 8 from evoking a default lightning orb without any Focus. Lightning Rod channels a lightning orb start of every 2 turns after you use one, which guarantees evoking a lightning orb which guarantees big damage
>>738753289 I do like Not Yet, but I do agree that losing Reaper is just far too much of a hit Honestly he should not have lost the status build either I like that Defect has it now. But Ironclad should have it too imo

>>738754360 It's actually 0 cost 30 damage if you upgrade it which is incredibly fucking stupid and would carry basically every eite on act 1. On the other hand, double orbit sounds so absurd you could get into a slower pathway with less elites and more fires and try to put together a deck of super good expensive cards.
Man, I can't wait for Workshop support so that I can just choose to disable mods...been fucking around with some lately, but I'm almost certain they won't work in multiplayer unless everyone else has them too.
>>738754360 I'd probably pick based on map If I am barreling into an elite, it's Collision Course If I can get a fire with a branching path into an elite (so that I can avoid it if the worst comes to pass), then I choose Orbit
>>738749039 A lot of people see friendship and demense and think it’s insane when really the shit silent and clad do by getting energy (or sly) and draw THIS turn is way more powerful than spending energy this turn to get energy and draw in later turns. And you have plenty of runs where you don’t see friendship or demense.
>decided to go full strike after getting glam setup and 2 early perfected strike rewards >,was almost full hp for the entirety of act 2 and 3 minus the bosses Why is perfected strike ranked so low? The damage output for a common is insane without needing setup, it works great without upgrades and lets you effectively ignore strength scaling.
>>738752628 The net result of this is that ironclad has damn near zero easy to access defense options. The only things added to compensate, Crimson Mantle and Immovable, are rares. Barricade is less than worthless, it's a card pool clogger now, because block has never been harder to bank.
>>738754347 The random nature makes it very bad most of the time. If it had retain to let you manipulate your discard pile to actually make use of it then it would be good.
>>738756772 >Early Access v0.104.0 (BETA) >Buffed Neow's Fury: Instead of selecting randomly, now allows you to choose up to 2(3) cards to be put into your Hand from your Discard Pile.

I keeping telling you all its saved as plain text anyways. I could edit that to be 900 losses right now with no effort
>>738757157 >Don't like the first couple card rewards? Abandon run >Neow rewards aren't any of the newly added ones? Abandon run >Bad first elite? Abandon run Based and reroll pilled.
Ironclad was the most fun character in sts1 Every change they made to him is sts2 is for the worse He barely even plays the same He's not just a corpse he is raped corpse
I was planning on going Forge, but that early Spectrumk Shift made me try Card Creation for the 1st time, was a lot of fun. Got an emergency button on the robot elite right on the 45 dmg turn. But damn, Ironclad was insane with that Tez Relic. Didn't know it was that busted.
>>738749391 Neceo is pretty good at act 1 especially underdocks. Main thing is aoe damage to get out of hard pool hallways. Single target elites really aren’t that bad. Underdocks elites are easy to build for on necro. Doom gets around to phantasmal gardeners block mechanic and even without it they don’t do that much damage. Post nerf byrdonis and statue die to just having picked half decent cards and if you’re going in early you just save a potion and force your way through. It’s really the phrog parasite that really fucks her imo. Hard to burst down phase 1 and hard to deal with phase 2. Early hard pools fuck every character but necro does struggle with aoe a little more.
I just had the craziest run on a8 So imagine landing an upgraded "Hidden Gem" on "Fasten+" and then playing picrel. Fasten treats the cards base block and Androit block separate meaning I receive double block. 1 block card gave me 70 to 80 block. Afterwards another Hidden Gem landed on a block card which gave me as much as 300 block. fucking hell....
>>738760835 >talking about how anitas organization pocketed all the profits, making it a failure for the devs >calling it a coomer-game and using mods as proof >larping as an sts1 fan and acting concerned about how 2 isnt measuring up over dumb shit >searching for schizo symbolism in the game (that would be pretty kino actually)
>>738761161 No and neither does nimble. Those just add to the base value. They can only be added to cards that do damage or give block respectively. Androit is unique in being effected by dexterity (and frail, also fasten in your specific case) because it adds gaining block as a separate effect on a skill. You can put it any card including stuff that doesn't gain block.
>>738760643 Yeah, they concealed it well. That's why I never take chances and will never buy a western game made after 2016 People will remember this little deceit once Slay the Spire 3 is nearing its release date. Or anything Megacrit releases in the future. >>738760647 meds

I did some runs of Spire 1 on my flight yesterday and man the balance is just so superior to 2's early access state. If you haven't played 1 in awhile it's worth revisiting. Hard to even articulate what it is but 2 has a long way left to go.
>>738766375 I found the opposite. Going back to play STS1 is like trying to swim in molasses. The card and relic pools feel so bland and repetitive especially the boss rewards.
>>738761234 >searching for schizo symbolism in the game The game is satanic. It's about trying to kill God at the top of the tower of babel. Insert something about jews or secret societies here.
>>738767212 Despite picking up swift 2 on my starting fasten, an acrobatics, predator and two upgraded prepared cards, I could not draw what I needed when I needed it either.
osty attack cards are bad ironclad cards on a character without ironclad draw or energy or vuln or strength scaling or dense block cards that needs multiple very specific rares in order to scale to even act 2
speak of the devil on the next floor this deck and the binding potion proceeded to kill phrog parasite in three turns with 0 damage taken can't wait to lose in act 2 or 3 anyways
This was a fun run. I got shovel from the very elite on a 5 fire path in act 1 and shovel maxxed the whole run. I got brightest flame and then the first floors in act 2 got me an upgrade and perfect fit on it. Then nonewpeepee gave me +max HP (along with a shovel strawberry). I spammed it like 50 times at least between hologram and perfect fit.
>>738771059 Oh I forgot that IT ONLY DEALS 3 DAMAGE PER SOUL WHILE ASHEN STRIKE DEALS 4 PER CARD AHAHAHAHAHA. What were they thinking when Stoke exists
Can anyone else admit that the balance is just not there yet? The game is still fun of course but there's honestly so many times where I just felt like I did everything right and I still got fucked over by bad numbers
>>738768070 >>738769167 well fuck. osty deck actually beat the whole game. having 7 energy per turn helps of course. took no damage from halfway through act 2 until halfway through act 3 where the elites and bosses were fucking me up turn 1 before i could get all my energy and danse set up. also i love cascade.
>>738772202 >from halfway through act 2 meant halfway through act 1. osty stomped most of this run until my failure to scale my turn 1 caught up to me.
>>738770816 Had a Necro run where I found Supermassive from the Philsophers event. It ended up being more consistent than the Soul Storm I already had(since generating the souls ups Supermassive, instead of having to play them). Also it scales faster than Soul Storm. Very funny.
>>738772468 soul storm was a transform. i got like 8 transforms this run which is why i have two bone shards and two snaps and early graveblast. picked severance because i had energy, green danse, and helmet so it blocks 10 and gets me draw now. i actually picked it over capture spirit on the same screen.
>>738772538 >game is not hard top players have stupid win streaks >I agree, game is too easy, even characters are braindead instawin >WHAT DID YOU SAY?! GAME IS NOT EASY, SHOW YOU A10 100 WINSTREAK TO PROVE IT
>>738772579 I think the strongest way to scale Souls in amount are >Capture Spirit+ 4 Souls each >Dirge+ X Souls+ each >Severance 3 Souls each >Glimpse Beyond+ 4 Souls each, though only in multiplayer
What about the rest of the Soul cards? >Grave Warden+ 11 Block and 1 Soul >Reave+ 11 damage and 1 Soul+ >Haunt+ Soul payoff 1 Soul used = 8 damage to random enemy >Devour Life+ Soul payoff 1 Soul used = 2 Summon >Seance+ Transform any card in draw pile into Soul for 0 cost And of course >Soul Storm+ Soul payoff 9 damage + 3 per Soul in exhaust (doesn't have to be used; do they want players to Eidolon a full hand of 9 of them?)
And after earlier nerfs since launch, the only ways to get Soul+ are Reave+ or Dirge+
>>738772640 Yeah Severance is a 2 cost for Danse if you're lacking any or if you're lacking Borrowed Time to make 1 costs become 2 costs
>>738772860 Players had crazy win streaks in sts1 and are coming into sts2 with an understanding of how to play and what fundamentally works. This game is not as balanced as sts1 yet (besides lol watcher who shits on sts2 silent), I simply have faith that it'll get there because as of now it's pretty good. You may now continue being a histrionic faggot, you may even keep replying if you need to.
>>738772886 >Eidolon my latest theorycraft is that eidolon is for runic pyramid. get your hand clogged and then exhaust it all possibly gaining intangible at the same time and making your deck better.
>>738773021 Eidolon is for extreme deck thinning to be sure. That it explicitly wants a full hand of 9 to burn up for Intangible implies either Pyramid like you said, or insane degrees of soul spam like I said. But with how gameplay goes you'd ideally want as many Capture Spirit as possible since Dirge exhausts and Severance costs 2 and Glimpse Beyond is multiplayer only... or maybe Undeath? Perhaps the trick is to flood your entire deck with as much Undeath and Soul as possible
>>738773156 Yeah but now that I think about it you also have Death March to abuse draw spamming.
Why they shifted ethereal from Ironclad to Necro when Necro has zero built in exhaust synergies(all her ethereal synergy is extremely hamfisted and clunky with zero natural synergy with anything )?
>>738773261 They need to buff the fuck out of Eidolon is what they need to do. Exhausting a whole hand of 9 cards should not be for 1 weak as fuck Intangible, and on a rare card AND for 2 cost no less. This isn't Wraith Form or Apparition
>>738773316 Eidolon needs to have targeted exhaust and lower number of cards needed to trigger the effect. It's such a useless card, same for Soul Storm. The devs don't seem to know how to balance any scaling damage card outside of Flak Cannon and Ashen Strike.
did they patch the multiplayer state divergence bug? was thinking of playing with a friend tomorrow but i'd rather play something else if we're constantly desyncing.
>>738775874 Cascade doesn’t care about cost of cards. It can play decisions, decisions, decisions even if you don’t have concept of stars at all. Furthermore if your cascade plays bloodletting and then another cascade, then that cascade will play number of cards equal to energy gained by bloodletting without using up that energy
>>738775874 it cast X(+1) card without a care about the cost. So if you got a bunch of high cost card you can cheat them this way
a VERY powerfull combo is if you have history lesson. You can play cascade for 0 at the end of your turn, and it will recast it at the start of your next turn using your total energy number ( so generally 3(4) cards) but without actually spending your energy. You get a FREE 4 cards. With good draw you can set it up every 2-3 turns and completely break the game.
Ironclad is only honest character. He treats health like resource in combat, so even if you kill boss “flawlessly” he still down 10-15 hp because you had to use your bloodlettings and offering. Everyone else just hides behind infinite block and kills boss losing 0 hp, you made no actual decisions in killing boss, you just played “do everything, cost nothing” cards and then boss died
>>738776337 >blocking bosses Lmao niggah Ancients will heal you next Act Every character should use health as a resource on boss fights. Its hallways you want to flawlessly win.
>>738776426 > Every character should use health as a resource on boss fights But they don’t need to. Necro can just console command “kill all” when entering boss fight because outcome will be the same
>>738776505 Basically every encounter in the game has some kind of scaling mechanic. Other characters do have better block cards, but it's basically never optimal to full block. If you play that way you'll probably just die to knowledge demon or even fysh.
>>738776630 Bad Necro and Silent decks need to trade health for speed of killing boss before he outscales you. Good Necro and silent can full block and kill boss in 9-13 turns
>>738776337 >Everyone else just hides behind infinite block and kills boss losing 0 hp Can they do that with a starter deck? No? Then they built a good deck in a deckbuilder game.
>>738778232 > Then they built a good deck in a deckbuilder game. Once again, even good ironclad deck requires sacrificing health because it’s a resource. Not losing health is dishonest. If you can consistently build a deck that requires no thoughts on how to play it to perfect the boss it means Anthony failed as game designer
>>738765521 they'd probably probably increase cost in this case, otherwise it's just Pact's end. But I think it needs a change cause un-exhausting itself is unintuitive and weird
>>738778394 what if they made it 1 energy cost, lowered the base damage, and the made the effect "Return this card to your hand whenever this card is exhausted and increase this card's damage by X"?
>like using sovereign sword because it's cool having a fuck off sword around >find it the hardest to actually win with, can win with other regent archetypes without much issue but forge is just really annoying to play around when I can just kill faster with other regent stuff
the best run i had was when I got the ironclad's armament which made the sword 1 cost, that was insanely good value
>losing streak with Regent, just making bad choices or getting too greedy >get Neow glam relic >get stardust as my first reward >easily clear the entire run without even trying all skill, no luck desu there's no way they're not nerfing this relic or changing it to something else, it's insanely good compared to the other options
>>738781297 we need some good stuff in the game. One of the things i hate most is when im forced to take transform or rare reward cause everything else is unpickable and get stuff like Eidolon
>>738734179 I'm still mad nexus nuked the brats. Reminder that the anaertailin skins have NSFW versions that were nuked, the loverslab guys made a backup. Not that I'd personally use them.
>>738781947 The mods are asswipes who regularly go on anti-anime powertrips and waste all their time sucking off "people" like Arthmoor. First time you've seen this?
Game offered me literally 0 scaling damage options entire Act 1. I had to kill the Matriarch with the stone calendar (and it was an exact lethal). This should be illegal.
>>738783775 I don't believe in Multihits vs Matriarch cause of the strength debuff. I was saved by strength potion on regular attacks and the calendar. At least I got the Smith as a reward instead of the dreaded royalties-gaze-too costly star card trio
>>738783857 I suppose you are alive so you are ultimately right, but if I had a strength pot and the situation seemed desperate... the Celestial Might have been the call Then again this is all hindsight speculation
