Dark Pictures games are incredibly cheap to produce and all reiterate the same tech used since Until Dawn. It's why the Season 1 games all released within a year of each other, all developed in about 6 months. House of Ashes and The Quarry specifically sold extremely well for the genre (and for the second anon: these games sell most on console). You're nuts if you think a moviegame appealing to normies in a Dead Space setting will do worse than fucking Little Hope.

A competent studio could make a worthy successor in a stagnant media climate. If House of Ashes had a bigger budget and proper advertising it would have eclipsed Until Dawn by opening up the interactive-movie genre to an even broader audience.

In case anyone's wondering, this is what's called a "loaded question". The point is not to gain information but rather to act as an implied accusation while still retaining plausible deniability. The implied accusation here being that not pointing to console sales (which are not available), we're disingenuously hiding evidence that proves the game is not a flop.
