1 was a big experiment and it only partially worked. The fixed camera is very bad (holdover from being an RE game), the combat is incredibly simplistic (as should be expected from a first attempt), and it also suffers from the usual flaws every Kamiya game has like forcing you to play fucking Space Harrier. The whole back half of the game is a terrible slog, much moreso than 4 despite 4 literally having you backtrack.

2 is shit because it had literally no time in the oven. When Itsuno was put on it to save it they had 6 months left and the only thing done was the stinger animation.
