Why is it so fucking bad? It literally keeps getting worse and worse every single minute after you leave Cathedral Ward the first time. I have legit never seen a super praised beloved game fall off so fast and so hard
It's not bad, it's just not as good as people claim it to be. Had you gone into the game with 0 expectations, you would've been pleasantly surprised. As it stands, Bloodborne is a solid 8/10 game in my eyes.

>>738751247 Chalice dungeons are why so much of it falls off. As simplistic and copy paste as the dungeons feel, it took a lot more time to get them to work than it was worth, and it cost development every where else.
>>738751784 Forbidden Woods is some of the best designed level in the entire series. The others while nothing remarkable are decent. Hunter's Nightmare is also another great area. Now I want to hear the counter argument.

Forbidden Woods is a massive multi-layered area with only one central lamp but navigating it is made easier by the several time saving shortcuts that are conveniently placed right when you are desperate for them. That makes for satisfying and tense exploration. On top of that it has a hidden area that connects back up to Central Yharnam.

>>738753326 I do think it's genuine, it's just people who got into the series for the "wrong" reasons who fail to see its qualities. If you think Elden Ring is the peak of the franchise, I'm not gonna be surprised at all if you think Bloodborne isn't all that great. It's pearls before swine.

They should have reskinned the Bloodletting Beast at least, a lot of people didn't even fight it because it was deep into the Chalice Dungeons. And there was the theory that it was Laurence due to the wound on its head anyway, so it would tie things nicely. Should have just stolen the theory and made it official.
