>>738752590 We will never get another one with soul like this because the game creators unironically thought this was good writing and were taken aback by the response and will never make something like this ever again
>>738752328 Why the fuck did Astos turn those lufenians into bats? Why did the Lufenians need Cornelia? Why couldnt they just contain chaos instead of constantly needing to send agents and hoping to goodness they dont accidently get their memories back (which is super easy to do as per the main story just let the darkness in) and go rogue?
>>738756751 punishment / explaining the lufenians changed into bats in FF1 itself they fucking hate cornelia and the warrior of light myth makes for a good infiltration scheme the stranger program is a cleansing of the darkness lufenia pumps into cornelia and is supposed to be a perpetual motion machine of time loops, jack & co. have been looping for centuries if not millennia from an outside perspective dragoon with a spear is just natural
UGH AND IM SEARCHING FOR A REASON MY MIND IS ON THE JOURNEY AND IM SLOWLY RUNNING OUT OF TIME A STORM IS RISING ON MY HORIZON fate is coming at you at the speed of light
They should've made a proper Dissidia themed sequel. Best parts of the DLC was Garland vs Emperor and WoL vs Garland Beats what ever the fuck they're doing with the Dissida franchise now. Some reverse Isekei bullshit
>>738756751 >Why did the Lufenians need Cornelia? If I remember correctly it's one of many civilizations in many dimensions the Lufenians have trapped in time loops and a treating as petri dishes to run experiments they use to improve their own utopia in their own home dimension. >Why couldnt they just contain chaos They experiments involve maintaining a balance of order and chaos, they're not out to control it. >hoping to goodness they dont accidently get their memories back The Lufenians are arrogant and think their stranger program runs flawlessly, without paying close attention to what the strangers they send get up to while they're in those worlds. They think chaos is icky and don't want to get their hands dirty, which is how Jack and his friends could hatch their multi-timeline spanning plan to tell the Lufenians to FUCK OFF
I've only done one playthrough but I settled on Hunter with the Analyze ability which buffs criticals, equipped the barrage buff that makes each hit do multiple hits worth of damage, summon tachi, and then one of the Monk derivative classes
>>738756751 >bats FF1 reference. Probably safer for him than outright killing them. >chaos Weren't they using it as an energy source? It's been awhile. >job/weapon combo Katana Dark Knight
>>738757276 they were dumping all of their darkness off onto cornelia so that the strangers could beat it down in the form of monsters as a constant purification right, their utopia of light is dependent on being able to dump their darkness into any other world they feel like and then send in their own glowniggers to be constantly mind-wiped and fighting back their own darkness
notably the lufenians don't consider themselves human regardless of their generation of darkness through heinous deeds
i would kill to have the strangers of paradise game continue into the story of 3 having to kill the cloud of darkness. the game has parallels of warriors of light with warriors of darkness so it could have some really kino potential......
>>738756751 >Why did the Lufenians need Cornelia? gotta dump their darkness somewhere to keep lufenia pure >Why couldnt they just contain chaos they literally can't, it ignores their ability to timeloop cornelia so the best they can do is keep their agents as autistic as possible because darkness + strong negative feelings = chaos. it was only astos and jack setting things up to stack the deck over each reset that let them actually meaningfully cause problems
>favorite job/weapon combos? for me it's breaker/void knight, usually greatsword and either katana or axe but what's nice about this pair is you get access to almost every weapon between the two of them while having runic/zantetsu as big flashy multi use abilities instead of having a more standard buff like most many weapon jobs
my first playthrough was cyclic/summoner for all the dlc but I realized I objectively wasn't really playing the game so much as mashing chaos moves in invincible lightbringer or just bullying things with bahamut so I ended up swapping to the other one for the final dlc boss
>>738759808 I would enjoy a new one. The levels were fine imo, but yea the visuals are one of the few problems I have with the game. That and the loot system which seems like you're meant to ignore it. I'm able to forgive the graphics because it's a budget Square Enix title punching above its weight as far as what it's aiming to be.
>>738760438 >millennial irony the people defending the games writing like it genuinely, you're the one saying it's like the so bad it's good aka you enjoy it ironically
>>738760714 You wrote >thinking this was good writing is full millennial irony There's nothing ironic about thinking this is good writing. Jack's quest to kill chaos is unironically well written.
>>738761347 Describe why the writing is bad without sounding like an ironic millennial >>738761408 >implying Spielberg ever writes his own movies He who lives in glass houses should not throw stones.
>>738762338 First you tell me why you lied now twice about what Spielberg writes? You linked to a movie he didn't write as a pathetic self own then made a statement that he didn't write anything as another pathetic self own. Why do you keep lying?
>>738762671 >I don't give a FUCK what Spielberg writes. You literally just told 2 fucking lies about what he does and does not write. Why did you lie two times you disingenuous millennial faggot?
>>738762423 It's genuinely one of the best action games ever made. If this were still the late 00's, when the industry wasn't catering to fucking casuals, it'd be recognized as one of the greatest action games ever made.
>>738762930 He still makes movies today and produces things you stupid millennial lying retard, Every brown low IQ "no u" deflection you do just blows up in your face holy shit
>>738762969 Completely different anon here, it's absolutely a must play if you like action RPGs Bonus points if you're an FF fan but I'm not one yet I still loved it
>>738762860 >I found the RPG elements a little lacking compared to nioh, that's because it's the guys behind toukiden instead of the main nioh guys and it's closer to monster hunter and kingdom hearts as a result
>>738762969 ignore them, it's mediocre. probably worth what little amount you'll pay for the base game because after finishing the game you wont have a desire to replay it.
>>738755749 This is someone whose irony poisoned. I and many others can look at Jack saying "Bullshit", turning away then blasting limp bizkit on his MP3 player and think it's genuinely bad ass. Someone who is irony poisoned can only look at this scene and call it "cringe" for being "edgelord slop" and can't enjoy it for what it is, they have to do mental gymnastics of saying "UH ITS ACTUALLY SO BAD ITS GOOD." Shit that was cool when you were a teenager is still cool, get over yourself.
>>738762423 I think it's great, my only complaint is the need to grind for correctly specced loot if you have a build in mind, but you couldn't get rid of it because too much of the game revolves around you reaching certain job percentages with gear to get bonuses. I regret using baby mode to cheat the higher difficulties so that I could see the story and grind endgame gear, when I eventually re-buy it for PC I'll watch some guides on how to use each weapon and the best skills.
>>738755360 The narrative itself is an example good writing, how it’s presented just happens to be the worst possible way of presenting a story on any medium
>>738762423 I played it a couple months ago and thought it was pretty fun. NG+ is RANCID ASSHOLE though which is a shame because I would’ve played more.
>>738752328 >watching dunkey's video >dude wont stfu about the big bad >ending is him asking everyone how long they planned on making him the big bad >I actually thought that was insane cringkino and regret not just playing the game myself. Theres something so sovlful about bad writing with good ideas, like when naruto's years long slop streak was randomly turned into gigakino when itachi used izanami.
>>738757234 >The Lufenians are arrogant and think their stranger program runs flawlessly, without paying close attention to what the strangers they send get up to while they're in those worlds. they also memory wipe the field agents and then go through the black memory orbs to pry into their memories to keep track of their activities in cornelia. it's why jack leaves the rebel thoughts memory orb with the princess. he didnt want to incriminate himself before the plan even happens.
>>738765454 the entire ending sequence when you're forced to play solo as Jack gave me the most intense feeling of what the fuck and holy fucking kino I've ever felt in a game
>>738762423 It's a weird action game that plays like nothing else. The closest comparison would be Nioh and Nioh 2 is one of the other action game GOATs.
>>738763327 >"eliminate the target!" >"eliminate? yesss. murdering every last of you arrogant bastards seems like a fine idea! no more false gods! I hope you're ready to DIE!!
>>738763073 >it's the guys behind toukiden no wonder that shit was so fire Shame about Wild Hearts flopping. Even with it's completely inexcusable dogshit performance I love that game so fucking much too. Speaking of Toukiden, please god Toukiden 3. There hasn't been a game since 2 and likely won't ever be a game after 2 that has nailed that kind of aesthetic in both visual and music. A bit of a shame that the game was as easy as it was
>>738755360 People took it at face value. His chad thundercock no fucks given personality was actually eventually explained later on and it was fucking good. The memes pretty much ended like a quarter into the story and then we got a compelling final fantasy story
>>738756751 I like using maces because I was disappointed that his WWE moves are just finishers so beating the shit up with a mace felt close to it. It felt satisfying smashing shit with Jack like a barbarian
