it's good but kinda disappointing. The game feels like two different demos with no real incentive to immediately start playing again. The unlockables are lame and no scoring system makes one of the few RE games with zero replay value. Not even the cope ''wait for the minigame'' could fix this, Leon Must Die is fucking terrible.

It felt like nothing to me. I played through it twice back to back and I barely remember anything from it besides riding bikes with Gideon. Worst mainline RE game (not counting 0 or CVX).
RE2>CVX>5>4>3>1>6 overall
The series has been dead for a while now.

Every section is a “that part” after 2 playthroughs
I can’t even be assed to do it one more time to finish up achievements with infinite ammo
Really curious what capcom’s takeaways from this game and its reception will be

there should have been more grace and less leon. her sections are the most fun to play while also staying true to the series. leon's sections are fun when they're sprinkled in to break the tension, but everything past the initial raccoon city section with him felt like a chore. shoehorning Mr. X in for no reason was a terrible choice and his boss fight was incredibly annoying.

Care center is good but even that falters past the first playthrough
Should’ve had random enemy placement. There is basically one single path through the care center and you get 1 weapon. Nothing changes across runs. It certainly is no re1 mansion

The police department is the lowpoint of the game and I don't know why it hasn't received more backlash. It literally feels unfinished. A tyrant dressed up like Mr. X shows up, but instead of pursuing you throughout the station, there is a 10 second long scripted chase sequence and then it immediately switches to a super tyrant boss fight. Such a massive missed opportunity. The orphanage is also really unfinished feeling with the giant invisible walls everywhere.

The game's "that part" really only consists of really annoying slowdowns revolving around The Girl or extended character transitions, Care Center is an incredible level except for the nursing ward and the basements excessive "stalker" segments. The game only really hits the shit because Raccoon city doesn't have enough enemies and playing Grace feels anemic after getting a couple of hours with Leon. Game either should have gone full action with occasionally a Grace chapter ala Ashley in 4 or gone full RE7 with more weapons on Grace and as a treat you get to play Leon when appropriate like the Sniper segment, or the Leon path at the end

Of course the developers aren't gonna show pixelated flashbacks from the PS1 era when the demake was already made. The "return to racoon city" in RE9 isn't for series veterans; it pissed in their eyes.

I just wanted to add that we can imagine how much harder the return to RPD would've hit if the RE2 demake never came out in 2019.

I'm not the biggest fan of MGS4 but at the very least Kojima handled that sort of thing with more grace (no pun intended), I mean imagine if he used twin snakes stuff for the callbacks

Being a retard who loves both classic survival horror era RE and RE6 action schlock era RE, I just wished they'd gone with one or the other.Preferably the action schlock
Instead I have been left kind of flaccid

It would've hit a lot harder that's for sure, even seeing Leon again since the last time he was in a mainline game was RE6 and that was 2012. Instead I was like, ugh, Leon for a third time? Capcom fucked up.
