>>738758617 Other than a few hype moments, the story is absolutely fucking garbage Usually to make any kind of cultural impact you need to be at least decent in every regard
>>738758774 nta but why wouldnt it be compared to MM? a direct sequel that follows the originals artstyle and same characters. at least MM knew they couldnt just reuse the entire OOT map and did something new
>Three years since it released >No new information on the next Zelda title >BotW released in 2017 >TotK was confirmed and teased in 2019 I'll salvage this thread with one question: What could have been done to save this game other than releasing earlier?
>>738759028 not rehash everything from BOTW with a worse gameplay loop and also trying to retcon the OOT story for some reason. also dont make everyone forget how you saved them like last month because you want this game to be newcomer friendly
>>738758617 The game was good. The problem is that if you were going to recycle BotW's game world with the same dev time, the game had to be spectacular. It's clear they spent the bulk of the game making sure Ultrahand didn't sperg out constantly instead of making a cool medieval fantasy game.
>>738758617 It's not just a rehash of BOTW, but it feels like it is a skin suit of BOTW and LOZ at the same time. Like how Silent Hill F was clearly never meant to be a Silent Hill game, but they were afraid to call it something else. Or how the upcoming Resident Evil movie was clearly never meant to be a Resident Evil movie, but they were afraid it wouldn't sell unless they attached a popular IP to it.
That's TOTK. It feels like some characters were reskinned to fit the LOZ theme, and Link, Zelda, and Ganon were hastily shoved in, but it was never meant to actually be a Zelda game or a sequel to BOTW.
>>738758617 I'd say it was impactful. It made an impact on me. Clearly, it also made an impact on you. When are you posting your next seethe thread, OP?
