Common Questions >"How should I build my MC?" Realistically anything works, you won't brick yourself even on Hard or Regicide. Common consensus is a hybrid STR/MAG/AGI is best. >"What is the best team comp?" Just about everything works, do whatever you like the most and it'll work on any difficulty. >"How should I manage my time?" There's more than enough time in the game to 100%, do whatever you'd like. >"Which royal virtues should I focus on?" Prioritize eloquence and tolerance and avoid courage boosts. >Royal Slash scales based on the higher of your STR or MAG.
We got caught in a bunch of threads hitting bump limit all at the same time, no specific melty. all the other atlus threads almost went down too but they had at least one post since 11 eastern
>>566004605 Going to any of the alt boards is basically a form of retirement and you will quickly have 0 interest in anyone visiting the thread at all. I get that's exactly what you want but definitely is not something that will be happening when nothing meaningfully changed about this general in a year
>>566005720 >half the thread is mocking OP for making a fake article >other half is OP desperately replying to himself and probably you shitposting about how woke the game is having the self awareness to figure out the article wasn't real is more than I expect from /v/
>>566007274 >>566008039 I would wait until after June to think about merging back with anyone, both us and /smtg/ need to get an idea of whether or not we're getting any content any time soon and between nintendo, MS, and geoff keighley we should know how dead both threads will be in the coming months
>>566015250 well fujos as a group always have haters anywhere, as has any group on the internet anyway. Plus this might overlap with flopfag, why give him the satisfaction at all.
Either way we have had nothing for ages, june won't change much in our status.
>>566018472 The only reason why I would advocate for merging with /smtg/ in particular is because /vg/ is getting worse every month and if we know for sure nothing is happening for awhile it would be the smart thing to push for. We go through threads at pretty much the same rate every time but we've had more of these things happen during sandfolk hours recently
>>566018639 well we can see but even if it happens we just revive and go on. Our only lacking factor is posters around sleeping time in euro and burger hours, that isn't a minus in itself
>>566031998 He wants to arrive at what are basically leftist idealisms through a meritocratic system of filtering people by how well they can hold their anxiety but I don't think leftists would subscribe to that because most of their voterbase would get culled
>Louis praising you for being earnestly strong with no reliance on cheap tricks followed by a Dumbledore tier HOWEVER right before he hits the prince with the magic Imo that's his best moment in the entire game
Nobody cares but I just discovered through the textfiles that certain archetypes would've helped you solve dungeon puzzles (that don't exist) such as opening locks and restoring stairs.
>>566041686 There's never any mention of puzzles to go with these, but the closest anything like this got to being implemented was in the royal palace in the teleporter hallway area since that was one of the earliest dungeons they worked on, there's an unused function mentioning class actions in the collision script file for that map. Reminds me of P5 having a treasure trove of this shit in the messages file for the classroom, they had tutorials for an entire stealth mechanic during the daily life section that was cut, references to Shido having unique traps in his palace that you needed strong personas to beat which got repurposed into that whole masked cognitions being Shadows thing. Not a hint that any of it ever got implemented in any way but there was still some text set aside for it.
Overall I think they tossed this idea out because they didn't want to make you have certain archetypes unlocked just to interact with a gimmick in a dungeon.
>>566043037 >they didn't want to make you have certain archetypes unlocked just to interact with a gimmick in a dungeon. You unlock Prince by default though. And says "temporarily", so likely it'd just simply change your archetype for that specific action.
>>566043585 That's all fine for not making you have to physically go in the menu and switch to that archetype but if you don't have Trickster, and you don't have Dark Knight, then you just can't do whatever that is. If they want to stuff something like that in an optional bonus endgame dungeon like the later Kalpas in SMT3 Maniax having event rooms that were influenced by decisions you made throughout the whole game then that would work a lot better than spending time making a gimmick system that you realistically can only use to have something shiny and fancy happen with an archetype the story just gave you. Because that would basically be like the grappling hook in P5R.
>>566083265 because the only game they've made in the last 20 years as bad as just Pirate Yakuza or Kiwami 3 was Soul Hackers 2 (and I guess P3 Reload)
>>566083265 They've always been a small indie company but unironically. Even though P3+P4 put them on the spotlight, it still wasn't enough to save them from bankruptcy before. Their games were always niche of niche for weebs and otakus, but P5 exploded so much with the overall western sphere (more than any other game before it) that Atlus didn't know what to do with all this attention. They always made do with lowbudget but charming games back in the early 2010s, but the market has expanded and shifted so much in the past 10 years that they can't get away with a game made for the PS3 again.
>>566084606 You make it sound like they haven't been getting record sales every time they put something that had budget out As much of a dumpster fire as the P3 remake was it still blew through a million copies faster than any Atlus game until Metaphor came out and did 2 million copies faster and both are firmly in the top 5 best performing Atlus games with Metaphor at #2 (or #3 if we split up P5 and P5zoomeR)
>>566084979 >they haven't been getting record sales every time they put something that had budget out Yes, but anon what was literally the last time they put out a brand new game that wasn't Metaphor? The original SMTV is literally 5 years old by now. SH2 was a failure so I don't count it.
>>566117674 >the two male leads are named Makoto and Yu >happens to have the exact same kind of opera house that was in Metaphor where will the P5 reference be
https://x.com/megastawiki/status/2052361331882484098 Yokoyama mentioned Metaphor by name in the interview he did this morning, comparing it to how they really had to try hard to not get STH to fee like LAD
>>566141159 >inspired by metakino Is it literally only chinks and SEAs that simp for Persona these days or what because whenever I see someone bring it up it's someone from some mystery meat shithole that can't speak any english
>>566165750 I'm not sure if you're blind and retarded on purpose but they literally only said that they took a look at the UI and took inspiration from it, not the actual game.
what do you say son, isn't it about time you retire this old general and move on? its starting to overstay is welcome. I hear /pg/ is nice this time of year
>>566250730 Louis would just turn into a waifu of the month for people to simp about and be forgotten, it's better he is a guy plus him being a guy and being this beautiful is more impactful. I would welcome a female villain though but I doubt Atlus has the balls to not excuse them in some way afterwards.
>>566252223 >plus him being a guy and being this beautiful is more impactful Not really, that just makes him a forgettable Griffith copy. It speaks of fujos shallowness and hatred of female characters if the first thing they think about is how a female villain would be turned into "waifu of the month" as if Louis isn't fujobait of the month. He would have been more impactful as a woman exactly because Atlus makes no female villains and Euchronia has no female rulers whatsoever
>>566005720 In general, it feels like there's been more attempts to whine about the game recently, which is odd considering it's...been a year since it came out. I guess as long as it gets tons of (you)'s, it'll keep being clowned on
>>566261129 The schizo on /v/ who makes those threads and mass replies to them got triggered by something, but what and why is not something anyone does or should care about
>>566264373 >3 times in one week >third thread died at 10 replies >other two died at or below 300 replies during American hours Why do minorities seem to not like Metaphor? Is it because they can't pretend they're white like they can in all their gacha games?
>>566266297 >Is it because they can't pretend they're white It's this but to be fair most metaphor hate threads on /v/ are just people shitting on the OP for being a retard and occasionally noticing how formulaic the posts that agree with him are
>>566271238 >but Atlus would remove the spice the moment it is a female You say that as if your fellow fujos haven't been crying about Louis needing to be redeemed and dindud for shipping purposes.
>>566260810 >Atlus makes no female villains didn't p5s have a woman as a villain? (or am i misremembering?) >Euchronia has no female rulers whatsoever joanna is a ruler in martira
>>566275075 It did but the fact that I forgot about her until you mentioned her should be telling. Pretty deserved too because she's dogshit as a antagonist, no matter her sudden reveal of a 'le tragic backstory'
>>566275075 Joanna is a sanctoress, she works for the church and is not a Queen. She leads Martira but she herself isn't royalty that we know of. And the funny thing is that she exactly gets painted as insane so therefore unfit to rule, and Bardon eventually takes her place. >>566275138 >>566275286 A chieftess isn't a queen, and even though Agrica should've been considered a Queen, nobody actually remembers her as much as they do the King (who is in the Euchronian coin). The point of the matter is that the entirety of Euchronia's rulership (the kingdom itself) has always been led by men, specially of royal blood. In theory, if you had a woman (secretly of a discriminated race) that pursued strength and power and sought leadership on her own despite the kingdom being used to a patriarchal monarchy, it would make this hypothetical female Louis compelling. You wouldn't have heard the end of it on /v/ because it sounds woke as fuck but since she loses to a black man that affirms that women shouldn't rule it goes back to being a based chud game.
>>566275075 P5S had Alice and Mariko, Mariko was the only villain in that entire game that was the least bit memorable because she was a politician that used persona magic to get votes while the rest of the characters were literally "I want to brainwash people into buying merch" since that's the only thing relatable to P5S' target audience of 6 year olds Yes I hate P5S you want to fight me about it bitch
>>566277119 >Yes I hate P5S NTA but thank god, I feel like I’m crazy for thinking that games story is dogshit because all I see is constant praise for it
>>566278569 P5S is absolute dogshit and has the worst villains. It's just a cookie cutter Royal and I hate that they wasted the concept of Sophia as a deity like this.
>>566312502 My favorite part about Metaphor 3 was the reveal midway through the radio that the Archduke of Oceana was assasinated and that now all of Euchronia must go to war
>tfw didn't fight the dragon in the nord mines should I just start over? they really made it seem like you'd be retarded to try but apparently this ancient being is a complete JOKE. Fuck!
>>566330932 You will get wrecked if you don't know exactly what to do and you do kind of need to play the entire dungeon conserving things and making sure you spend your money on a specific consumable to do that fight but it is pretty worth. Fire elemental damage will get you through most of the early game and you can upgrade the weapon you get to make it last longer and it looks cool
>>566355149 I don't like how jerky the combat is, camera angles just keep snapping around for each character, turns make it snap around too. Just zoom out and rotate it a little bit sometimes, kinda retarded.
>>566351959 I bought Metaphor at launch but didn't play it yet cause I'm an idiot... I bought it specifically for Hunkenberg. Do I do it? For Hulkenberg's feet?
>eldan genes being shoer dominant means the girls can sleep around as much as they want and unless Junah invents paternity tests there's no way for the father to find out
>I will kill him. Literally just 4 words but I always think about this line, amazing what happens when Atlus script writers don't have to write 16 different varieties of Persona 4 and now 5. I have literally no hope for P6
>>566261129 It's because some grifter asian account made a collage out of a fake headline + some old /v/ shitposts and got a million X views for it https://x.com/GeraltofGoonia/status/2051813624318926849 most of the replies are calling him a retard, but assuming he didn't make those repeated /v/ threads last week himself it's not surprising that someone did
>>566481159 >Everyone keeps asking me to play this one stupid song but they always get upset when it doesn't come out right. How would I know what it sounds like without all the SFX if they don't?! Honestly, some people...
>p4R very likely dropping in February >going to be lining up needlessly closely with an RGG title again hopefully they have new metaphor for late 2027 that no one is aware of again
Where is, you know? The third pillar? The revolution of gaming? The highly accalimed JRPG of the decade? of the century? with 2 million copies? A global phenomenon? With 3 awards?
>>566755767 I think it was called snowbreak, and goddammit if you think Atlus has issues not being able to do yearly releases, you don't even want to imagine what life would be like if they were a Chinese dev
>>566782979 no mention ever, not even if his parents kept him around or just one dipped right away after he was mixed. Clearly clemars wouldn't accept him but I can't see mustari being too open either.
>>566859294 >says with no proof and still deflects the original point isn't it sad that you live your days just seething about the SEA boogeyman in the thread of a dead game?
>>566944745 >better yakuza in january >worse persona in february >new metaphor in october >or metaphor is the new SMTVV because SMT is fucking dead atm trust
>>566946105 STH is probably trying to dodge GTA6 with everything it's got. There's a strong rumor that the GTA6 release date is dropping soon with preorders thanks to best buy so they will know soon.
