>>565949660 why are retards making a big deal out of this? You can access the browser from the settings menu since day 1 through dns redir are brainlets really not aware that comex pwned the browser shortly after the console released?
>>566019690 I expect the Steam Machine to be a disaster. Things might improve over time but it will be an utter shitshow on launch that kills all of the hype.
>>566026060 the price will be disappointing for sure. the only way it'll be good is if it's priced appropriately which at the current climate, is literally fucking impossible. but I expect it to be scalped as all hell just like the controllers recently anyway, homebrews
>>566019690 >>566026060 It seems like the path forward for me. I am a console gamer. I pirate. If devs are targeting those specs and I can get pirated games running on it then it makes sense. I don't care about getting the best framerates or whatever gay shit the consumer drones spend all their money to chase. I also don't want to maintain a PC gaming setup.
>>566028073 If you're happy pirating games easily and playing in 1080p 30fps then it sounds like a PS4 is more your thing. Especially for the price difference.
>>566028845 a ps4 can't emulate a switch, among other things also, i would say "for the prospected price i got my current pc which is more powerful than the steam machine", but that was a few years ago now, prices aren't the same so whatever
>>566028845 PS4 isn't going to be getting new games. I'll own a PS4 as well. Probably a PS5 too just because I can get it cheap enough but I can't see myself buying too many games and I'll probably just stick on whatever firmware I need to get GTA6 running.
>>566016867 Yes, but you have to do the following: 1. Buy a Switch 2 2. Buy any games you want to play on it 3. Play the games on the Switch 2
Note that if you buy the Japanese Language Only Switch 2 you can only use Japanese Nintendo Accounts on it and games without a separate language selector will play in Japanese.
>>566061825 yesterday when updating a friends switch I thought to myself >what If I just make a hats-light with everything I mention in my pasta and only must-haves have mission control and sys-clk maybe one day
Well bros. I think it has come to this. I am going to try to delete a bunch of games and back up my Switch SD card so I can repartition it. I am making this decision while I just woke up and had my coffee, barely lucid. That's how you know it's a really good decision.
>>566099743 I probably should have just deleted all the games so this takes less time. I have them all on my seedbox so downloading them is no problem. Oh well we will do this the slow way.
Note to anyone reading: live blogging this shit is only an excuse to keep bumping this thread with on topic posts.
During my Nintendo Switch Linux adventures I got the news that my PS1, my Wii U gamepad, and my bluray burner from Japan have arrived at customs in my country. Hell yeah.
>>566116364 I got my system on launch day and stopped updating on 4.03, yeah dude you're looking for a 2021 system and that's when the ps5 use to just sell out in an instance
Well bros it looks like my shit is fucked right the hell up. Surely I can recover. But perhaps not in time to play any games on Horizon OS tonight. This is a battle for tomorrow.
>>566148481 Nah nothing that horrific. I got mine done by a pro. After repartitioning my SD card so I could put Linux and Android I first flashed Linux. Then I copied the backup of the contents of my SD card back onto the Switch. Everything was fine. Horizon OS worked. Then after flashing Android I got "Invalid GPT Signature" and I couldn't fucking boot Horizon OS. One of the Reddit replies said to delete the emummc folder which worked, but of course my games and saves are not there after I do that. So I need to figure out how to properly migrate everything back in. It's likely going to involve just restoring the saves into a fresh emummc then reinstalling the games. Massive pain in the ass.
Still haven't updated the switch 2 bought on launch.
And I don't feel like buying a second one for a crack that might never happen, especially for a firmware that likely most people aren't on beside a few like me.
Is it still likely for a crack to happen ? Or should I just give up and update to enjoy the few worthwhile switch 2 games to have less buyer remorse ?
The only good game that I have which can run on 20.1.1 is DK Bananza.
>>566155204 we're at the mercy of the hackermen, cause even if something is found it doesn't mean they'll share it with others. Switch 1 was in a similar situation, some magic number being leaked is what kickstarted the software hacks, otherwise it would've been mostly modchips and whatever too basically nobody knows until it happens, either wait some more or just use the thing right now
has everyone just cucked and gone to 22.1.0 for newer NSP updates? some games just won't install and I'm not sure if the NSPs are broken or if its me being on 20.5
>>566172152 you can't force a new game to use old keys or something like that. The "backporting" you are aware of is only changing the fw number the game has set to run on. There was a good explanation a few threads back and I might be misremembering but basically it's not doable
>>566173452 I was there for that thread and was in the discussion but that was relating to a specific tool (Swiss Army Knife), I was wondering if there was the possibility of doing it through some other method somehow. I mean we know the 22.1.0 keys because they can be dumped by some anon on 22.1.0 and then potentially used to sign a NSP that is signed to 22.1.0 .... or something like that idk.
>>566173617 I'm keeping the option open in case we get good emulators or something that would only work with enough memory.
>>566173950 no offense but you clearly didn't pay attention SAK uses another thing underneath, and that thing is what changes the fw number on games actually signing/compiling/whatever with new keys is not something that's out there
>>566174529 I did pay attention, I know there's an underlying tool, I left that out because I felt like it would distract from the larger point which is why if we have higher fw keys, why we can't use them to sign games with those to work on a lower fw.
>>566216223 I was having one last night remembering when I first found this website and they got me into watching Rozen Maiden. I was playing the fansubs on my OG Xbox after burning them onto DVDRs. I am old. I have failed to grow out of this shit.
After all the experimentation I did yesterday I am seriously considering buying a mariko switch, probably one with a damaged screen, and using it as a Raspbery Pi type home server. It makes sense for me because I live in a country with unreliable power. I already have an X86 server running Debian on some e-waste Thin Client I bought but every time there's a power outage it goes down even though I have a battery backup for my internet connection. I figure the battery in the Switch could keep it running for some hours while waiting for the power to come back on.
>>566248497 forgot that's fsr 2.1 auto mode now 1080p ultra fsr 3 native AA no RT, between 40-50 again gonna try to get locked 60 >>566249575 Yea console port has performance mode runs mostly 60 I played that on my slim but that has no RT? does ps5 cyberpunk even run on 4.03?
Any developments regarding UDPBD on PS2? last time I checked two or so years ago it wasn't really supported yet. I crave high speed game data transfer on my shittiest slim model.
>>566273916 anon, as a linuxhead, Linux (the userland andnkernel) can easily be updated on something like the ps4 but it wouldn't necessarily mean the drivers would be good The drivers depend on whoever is maintaining the driver to know their shit
Does anyone have the screencap of the anon who messed around with the gamma/contrast on his 3DS in the Rosalina menu to make colours more vivid? Recently replaced my battery and it reset all my settings.
>>566327879 No The funny part is nothing has really changed in terms of what can be done Not really sure how well known all the setting up process of previous shops is but it basically involved anons uploading games to google drive accounts using hacked or donated student google accounts ( therefore virtually unlimited amounts of storage) and then connecting these up to be accessed from within tinfoil
A dedicated anon could put something like this into Ai and rebuild the infrastructure very very easily
Next time just host it outside of the US if possible There are Chinese hosts like alibaba these days
Maybe I should do a fuller blogpost but for now if anyone wants to attempt doing this just ask questions and I'll try and answer Maybe it'll even keep this gay thread going for a while
yes and cyberfoil was updated to support encrypted and user/password protected tinfoil shops, with no means for the shop backend to differentiate between it.
though the ghost eshop free tier seems to have been more or less semi-shut down in favor of paid only.
the thing with zoomers is they're so goyim and docile, they'll never actually start an eshop on their own. the last guy who tried was a millennial. only millennials seem to have the drive and cognitive capacity to build out these mid-sized projects.
I think trying to make your own eshop is dumb. Bandwidth and storage is not free. Good opsec isn't either. There's a reason why all the ones that exist are paid and operated out of places like Brazil, Vietnam, and China. It's a lot of risk for what, impressing some people on Discord?
>>566381134 Then go make it with the free infinite storage and bandwidth you think exists and won't get shut down. You can't because you're poor and stupid so you probably wouldn't even get as far as writing a config for nginx, let alone renting Hetzner servers with bitcoin.
>>566017330 Yeah, dunno why people are getting hyped about the browser access on Switch 2 when we've been able to access the browser on Switch 1 for ages and it never led to anything.
>>566403813 Do your own research. We give you the quick and easy, obvious answer here. If you want to go in depth everything you need to know is out there. tl;dr who cares about some shit old homebrew that's never going to be updated when there's games to be played
>>566381243 If someone would make an actual, not broken tinfoil, it would be great. Or even better someone re-figured out how TX got switch files to play off hard drives, it'd fix everything for me.
>>566405318 Storing nsps isnt the issue. It's the shitty interface of installing/transferring it to the switch itself. I'd have no problem storing my switch games on my nas and playing them via network like ps3 and ps2 works.
>>566403813 i can attest that i have everything updated to the latest version and it works, but i "only" do pirated games, moonlight and overclocking (for moonlight, aka sys-clk). Idk about other stuff, make sure to update not just the cfw stuff (atmosphere, hekate, patches, etc) but also the homebrews themselves
>>566405543 Anon I use sys-patch and I'm among the more experienced anons so there is little chance of that. Already updated my AMS in advance Just hate having games that I can't update because apparently backports are impossible. Feels like shitendo won
Should I get a PS3 or PS2 to hack if I primarily want to play PS2 games? Kinda leaning towards PS3 on the off chance there's a PS1/PS3/PSP game I want to play too but I don't know what the PS2 game compatibility is like these days on hacked PS3s.
>>566409571 The main problem with getting a PS3 is that the only one that's truly worth a shit for PS2 are the original backwards compatible fats. These are YLOD nightmares. The absolute sweet spot is owning one that has had the frankenstein mod done to it. Good luck with that. PS2 hacking is so fucking easy. Might as well get one and an upscaler and call it a day.
>>566409571 fat ps2 with sata adapter ps3 in general kinda sucks dick these days. most the good games got remasters or can be played on pc, still a decent option for ps1 games
>>566424649 i'm pretty sure the only things affected by having less ram is just game mods, and even then it depends, everything else works just like it did before
>>566428160 ok, so what do i fucking have to do to update everything now? the guide is outdated i haven't touched my switch for like 2 years or something. do i just replace atmosphere and then hekate like always? do i just unpack the zip into the folder from that 1.6.2.0 sys-patch after that? or do i have to do it differently? i don't remember half this shit why is it so retarded now? what the fuck is wrong with this retarded transcommunity? i just want to let my nephew play some fucking games
>>566431306 It does technically require a very minor edit to Hekate that I wish Retryfag would post just so he never needs to update the guide ever again, if he doesn't want to update sigpatches manually anymore.
>>566431820 what update? I used the rentry stuff and then just slammed syspatch on top of it and everything works am i'm actually about to get mustard gas'd?
>>566435132 iirc it's just that you're not using sigpatches anymore so the hekate config or whatever is expecting something that isn't there which i assume is what >>566431820 was talking about, but idk what you need to change it to fix it. I can attest everything works fine besides that error on boot, at least from what i can see, i updated a few weeks ago and didn't have any issues yet
Just bought a 3dsxl to hack adns end my mons from my emulated 3ds pokemon games through to pokemon home. I want those origin mark pokemon.
anyway i also want to play through the gen 4/5 games as well.
If i play those games and then use pksm to trandfer the mons to Gen 7 and then into home will they retain the origin mark properly? If for example i play Sacred Gold instead of Heart Gold will those mon's make it through all the way to home without being pulled up?
>>566467838 I would use pkhex to do the transferring, some Pokemon you got from Sacred Gold would be flagged by pkhex just edit them until you get the green tick before transferring to Home
>>566468483 yea pksm does it but I trust pkhex more with anything like that because the dev Kaphotics is the expert on this stuff, I think pkhex has better legal checking in general
>>566454278 is this really different, performance-wise, than emulating? Like i guess it's a noticeable difference on something like switch, but everywhere else?
>TheFloW >PSA: There's a patched hv bug < 6.50 that could allow Linux. FW 6.02 is the last one affected. It's still unclear how difficult it is to exploit, but it's promising. Also, no ETA of course
>v1.1 is now out: https://github.com/ps5-linux/ps5-linux-patches fixed some bugs improved hdmi video and audio added experimental 1080p120 enabled ntsync for better windows games performance added model information (visible in fastfetch) updated to 7.0.5
when are we getting PS4 keys leaked? Apparently they are being hoarded by some members of scene it's not like Sony is going to do shit about it, new PS4s are barely produced these days
Bros I'll tell you, if you have any interest in retro consoles the time to buy is now and the place to buy from is Japan. Awareness of the low price and easy hackability is spreading. The yen is as low as gas prices are high. So get what you want now or in a few years you'll be buying it from some faggot who hoarded 100 easily fixed consoles from junk lots.
>>566589729 that's why i dm death threats everytime i see a normalfag on social media talking about buying retro games from japan and how cheap they are
>>566590150 Well it only makes sense with flash carts, ODEs, softmods, etc. The bullshit domestic retro games markets only drive people to it and it doesn't take a huge leap of logic to understand that if you're going that route a cheap Japanese console works just fine.
>>566589729 lol I've been there last months most of the big stores in cities that sell 2nd hand (book off, etc) have absolutely no stocks whatsoever you can find some overpriced ones in Akihabara though
>>566590945 I am buying online through zenmarket and still getting what I am after at acceptable prices. Not going to give away the whole game. But in this box I'm taking home right now the Playstation doesn't have a functioning CD drive yet powers on just fine. Since I want to put in a picostation that's perfectly acceptable to me. It's things like that you need to look out for and avoid the things everyone is already after. You're never going to get a 3DS LL for a good price.
Aw yeah I got some good shit today. Bluray burner, switch dock that matches my Splatoon edition OLED model, a Playstation, an 80s Funk/Soul CD I'm ripping which is a good test for the drive and a Wii U gamepad (not pictured). After this rip completes I'll burn henloader_lp and try to get some games installed on the PS4 that belongs to my bosses son. Lots to do today!
why hasn't anyone dumped the ps4 english release of unicorn overlord, i can only find the jp release with an english patch which is retarded and crash prone when it's already available in english
>>566528627 what's good about it? genuinely asking. i have one but idek what to do with it. at this point it's basically a starfox zero machine. feel like giving it away.
>>566173950 late reply but can't you just decrypt the game entirely and repack it? probably not ever done only because it's pointless, most people just update
>>566639343 Well if the wii was a souped up GameCube I guess the wii u is the ultra mega GameCube with hdmi output. Makes sense to have one to play those libraries if you aren't going to do it on a CRT.
>>566640674 I guess so. It's probably like you say, no one has ever actually tried. It's like for ages I would just do my own base game+upd merges on PS4 and saved 100s of gigabytes because apparently no one up to that point had thought of it. >>566640741 yeah that's true ig I guess there's virtual console. I just wish I could use the gamepad to play Wii games instead of needing a faggot wiimote.
can someone remind me how 3ds hacking worked? is everything hack related stored on the sd card or inside of the device? i have a hacked 3ds in my closet, but it doesn't have the sd card inside if i want to play on it now, what do i need to do? hack it all over again?
>>566643002 keep in mind the last major update (for hacks) happened in 2017, if you had updated your setup after that date you should be good to go by just checking the guide in op and essentially dragging and dropping stuff hell main issue for you might end up being the battery
>>566643002 >i don't remember shit doesn't matter. use the guide. you'll be aight. just go to bullshit9 and install godmode9,luma, hbl, fbi and you're done basically.
>>566643724 if it's after 17 then it's probably the method i used >>566643563 >Does it turn on? i don't know yet, have to find their retarded cable too it's so annoying in current year for devices to have proprietary cables
accidently connected to the wifi on my switch in cfw without the dns changes and it started downloading updates for pirated games, it was nice knowing you fellas
>>566651134 its automated, retard lmfao did you actually think some little japanese jew is sitting about rubbing his hands waiting for a pirated nsp to log on someone's switch id?
>>566656445 That's the plan once I can acquire a picostation. I also need to get rid of the 100v power supply before I can actually make use of it. Living in a country that has 220v where everything is NTSC can make pre-HDMI gaming really confusing. Even if I wasn't going to import some shit from Japan on the local market there are consoles from different regions showing up including ones with the PAL badge of shame.
Found the USB charging cable for the Wii U gamepad. Battery light turns on. Gamepad turns on. Good signs. Now to figure out where in the hell I put my SD card reader.
I have a hacked Switch V1 that I want to factory reset or something to (hopefuly) be able to go online, as I want to play Pokémon Champions but don't want to spend on new hardware.
My sysNand has a ton of not-so-legal software but I don't care if I have to reinstall some of them as I'd like to create an emuNand. I've already made backups of all my saves using JKSV in order to restore them on the emuNand. IIRC I set Incognito and 90DNS years ago when I first hacked the switch. I'm also not sure what to do with the efuses, would the burn when I update the console via nintendo servers? Do I care if this happen? Also I don't have a nand backup, when do I make one?
TLDR: I have a hacked sysnand that would like to clean in order to go online and then I'd like to have an emuNand to keep playing "backups".
>>566692828 Nah my other SD card reader. It was in a bag of shit I took to work that included like 20 USB flash drives but never unpacked since I got back. Now I'm trying to breeze through the Japanese Wii U setup without understanding any of it.
>>566693068 if I may my brewbro, you sound frustrated or stressed. I'd suggest a couple of deep breaths and using the switch instead of looking for something you may not find right away which may stress you more
>>566695179 That's the thing though. I fucked up my switch when I was repartitioning it. It can be fixed, sure. But that's going to be more frustrating than dicking around with something else.
>>566695421 just send it hekate through rcm and go to tools -> usb tools -> sd card. This literally turns the switch into a usb sd reader through the cable
>>566695680 to be a bit more specific, you don't boot into your switch nand or sd card with emunand/linux/whatever. You boot into just hekate which is before any of the previous stuff, and you can pop in any non-switch sd card to access it on your pc
>>566695680 Oh I see what you mean. That would have worked. But then I'd need to locate the USB-C cable I have that actually works for file transfers to the Switch. It doesn't like the one from my phone. It's always another battle. My wife is always annoyed at how much of a mess I have turned our room into with all of this stuff but much of it is for my work which means decluttering = demoneying.
>>566691992 >Also I don't have a nand backup, when do I make one? should've been the very first thing you did when you first hacked, that way you could've restored that backup and go on your merry way. Now you can use this https://github.com/StarDustCFW/Haku33 but it's not as safe as a clean backup that said, make a backup now anyway, as it's still useful in case something goes wrong (ie, your nand gets corrupted or whatever)
I just got my hands on an SCPH-9000x ps2. I've installed FMCB on plenty of PS2s in the past, but I hear these late models need a few extra steps to get around some newer security measures that Sony implemented. So I need Opentuna or something? Is that right?
>>566739514 I don't lose interest. I lose chances to actually play. This having a life shit sucks ass sometimes. But I'm getting older. My 40s are creeping up on me. Soon I'll be some crotchety old fuck with aching bones and I will be sick of going outside. Then I will be happy I hoarded all this video game shit.
>>566739984 >Soon I'll be some crotchety old fuck with aching bones and I will be sick of going outside. Then I will be happy I hoarded all this video game shit. I really hope this also works out for me but at the same time I'm afraid it won't
>>566409571 PS2. Don't worry if you can't find a fat PS2. You can load games through the ethernet port on a slim PS2 and it's as good as loading from the HDD for many games.
got a cfw switch. using network to install games from pc. best place to actually download nsps? tried a few random websites but theyre hit or miss with bigger files. 1337x and the like seem hit or miss with smaller games :( someone help :(
Give me a straight up answer, no bait. Should I hold out hope that the Switch 2 gets hacked or just sell it? I don't even care about the future releases anymore. Let's be honest Nintendo peaked with the Wii.
>>566880350 stfu you know exactly what we're getting new games from all their IPs remakes of 64 games (confirmed OoT) shitty new gimmick games (a la ARMS) cross-console multiplayer games to play on-the-go and ports of old AAA games that can finally run on ninty hardware
>>566136859 only format your sd cards using fat32. I doubt it was Androids fault. Unless you resized partitions, but if you didn't I'd guess it was from using exfat and it just finally corrupted when you installed android.
>>566889864 Nah I used fat32. I'm not insanely retarded. I did resize partitions to be able to install Linux and Android but after flashing Linux it was fine. After flashing Android the trouble started.
>>566989590 What little I saw of it from GBAtemp tells me it finally pulls off Gamecube emulation. Compatibility list is still too small for me to try though. This thing also covers Dreamcast and Saturn? Also, the Switch has a bulge of some kind that I know wasn't there when I last checked a couple of months ago. Still works for the most part but USB file transfers are unstable. Had to actually turn it off and remove the micro SD card to update Atmosphere.
What's the going rate for sending off a Switch OLED to get picofly'd?
>>566999213 The brand new PS5 exclusive game Saros has been dumped and is playable on hacked PS5s. Seems to imply someone out there has a fw 13.X exploit.
>>566005637 >-GUIDES and POST SETUP- >https://rentry.org/Guides (archive.org for DMCA'd stuff) I don't see a PSP guide here. Is there one that's recommended?
