>>566320179 Beauties and the Stranded will probably be a mess. All the delays and having to rerecord voice lines doesn't leave me with much hope.
I don't know enough about Too Hot To Be True yet. The description seems too much like Five Hearts Under One Roof, but it being about finding a wife could make it interesting. I'll wait to see more before getting my hopes up. Also that promo image is terrible.
>wanna double dip Don't Fool Me Beauties on GOG >payment methods don't work I hate Poland. I hate Poland. I hate Poland.
>>566320179 Soseo socute, Dayeon is great too. THTBT would need some surprise great actress(es) to get me hooked. If there's a new FHOUR coming, I hope they dial down the amount of girls or at the very least don't bloat the cast even more, pacing suffered a lot in 2. I'm buying anything with Mal-sook day one regardless, won't lie.
I just finished a run of Don't Fool Me Beauties and I'm going back in. This one had a 100% "all girls are extremely dateable and their arc works for the overall story". Now I'm just upset about Korean nudity laws...
>>566353739 So, ok. I know Bit-na is popular and probably objectively the hottest. But I went Ga-eun, I am a sucker for mean bitches who are actually trying their best but get worn down by my loyalty and nice guyness. That's how Leah got me even though every other KoKL is better.
>>566356961 Nikita's the hottest, Serena's the whole damn flirty package, Lin's cute as fuck, and well Chen Man is Chen Man. Come on. But Leah's look coupled with the attitude was killer, she got me.
I'm just glad more people are giving Don't Fool Me Beauties a shot. I think it is Storytaco's best game, and it's a shame it is their worst selling game.
>>566360518 Aside from the girls being a true ensemble the flexibility of the choices was executed really well, especially the big story decision near the end before you select your girl
>>566360518 Yeah, gotta thank you guy(s?) for shilling it, the premise isn't very eye-catching at first and the blurb on the store page is outright incorrect. I feel I have a hard time judging these games objectively with girl preference and how hard some scenes land getting in the way, but DFMB does come together really well and excels at some stuff other games struggle with. Were not for my raging FHUOR bias, it'd probably be my favorite 'taco too.
Anyway, the Steam standings are pretty surprising to me. Did not expect Ga-eun to be this popular, or Ji-woo to be neck to neck with Bit-na. I knew Ah-young would have a hard time for not ruining her jaw, but placing that far behind sucks. Are these really the end-all be-all popularity measurements as implied?
>>566353739 Ga-eun was my first. By the end, my preferences went: Ah-young >>> Bit-na > Ga-eun >>>>>>>> Ji-woo
>>566388867 >Are these really the end-all be-all popularity measurements as implied? its just votes for favorite overall its not that ah-young is disliked its just shes more likely to be someones 2 or 3 than 1
>>566389284 Yeah, just a little antsy about her coming back and I don't really know how this stuff works. Completely oblivious to social media too.
>>566394714 Sorry anon, she's fine, it's just her route irks me. Her flitting isn't too great, her scenes don't do much character building for you or her, so you don't really feel much agency or intimacy for a childhood friend and her confession at the climax ends up feeling... a tad manipulative? Her words are very relatable, she acts well, but the context undermines it. The game could have done more to make you feel you dragged her out to the hotel yourself and neglected her over the other girls, it mostly plays out without your input. Dunno, maybe I'm just being unreasonable because another game impressed me pulling off that bittersweet CF drama in a way that made you feel involved, the replay might give me a different perspective.
>>566397680 >Yeah, just a little antsy about her coming back and I don't really know how this stuff works. The only girl from DFMB that I think actually has a chance of being in another game is Ga-eun's actress since she is competing in this years Miss Maxim contest and Storytaco games like to hire girls who competed in that.
>>566414406 >Wait, does that mean the THTBT girls actually ranked well in beauty contests? Winter competed in the same year as Gran, and she came in 5th. Gran came in 3rd.
>>566472545 Not horny, playful, Ah-young never responds well when you escalate. You don't really get the full picture until the end. She is engulfed by the older sister persona to keep her little brother's spirits up, but she's extremely lonely. Despite being an influencer type of character, she's not much into the self-absorbed cult of personality angle at all, acting remarkably reserved when discussing it with you and keeping it about her newfound income. Fair to assume she developed some sort of complex about being lusted after and the barrage of erotically charged parasocial praise on tiktok or whatever must only make her solitude worse. In fact, the only time that feedback comes into play is when she's drunk and flirting with you, trying to get you to speak up on her beauty. Ah-young ends up blurting out her needs by the end of chapter 5, she desperately longs for a family, someone to be there for her unconditionally, nothing less will do. You falter for one second at the finish line and you're locked out of her good ending.
>>566513829 But that's a different kind of horny, real fingers interlocked, eye to eye, my little brother needs a nephew filth. So much for not raising the game's rating.
> Introducing Cherry, joining the cast of <Too Hot to Be True>!
>With her chic cat-like visuals and unexpectedly adorable charm, Cherry is sure to steal your heart
>Known for her striking visuals and natural acting, she has made a strong impression in various projects, earning love for both her cool and cute vibes
>In <Too Hot to Be True>, what kind of character will Cherry play, and what kind of heart-fluttering romance will she bring?
>>566592128 >Bit-na The way you meet and your first interactions with Bit-na are 'meh'. But, the way your relationship progresses feels natural and good. Also, afaik, she doesn't have any quirks or problems
After trying Dating 4 Girls for a bit I understand why there's barely any discussion for it. I'm two chapters in and I know practically nothing about the girls. Other than Andy there's only been less than 1 minute conversations with the other girls. For two chapters I did expect them to try and develop the girls a lot more, but the story so far is more focused on NPCs and the game world being destroyed. Compared to the Storytaco games, choices have been almost nonexistent so far. Just slapping cute girls into it and having them do slightly suggestive things isn't really enough to build an interest.
How do these games manage to get thousands of positive reviews on Steam?
>>566612804 >How do these games manage to get thousands of positive reviews on Steam? Chinese market I imagine? At least some of the traffic seemed organic when I went into the forums to check if it was another online only release and found the chinese complaining about connection issue errors (lifted recently according to dev response, can't confirm it). Overseas, or english speaking presence, seemed nearly nonexistent, single digit reviews and threads, though at least they're getting addressed?
>>566614693 The always online connectivity many of the Chinese games have is a real pain in the ass as it is often implemented quite poorly. At least they are listening to feedback and making fixes to improve things.
I suppose I am comparing a lot of the Chinese games to the Storytaco ones and it doesn't seem reasonable that the Chinese ones are getting so many more reviews, even the absolutely awful Chinese ones like Enjoy Amoy & Sisters which was absolutely disastrously bad gets 1k reviews or more. Maybe it is simply Chinese nationalism driving it.
Chapter 3 ended up not being any better at all. Debating whether I should keep going or not.
>>566615903 Maybe chinese culture is more welcoming of a laid back pretty girl.mov ride? I know nothing about them, or koreans for that matter, just guessing. Regardless, I find all these AFMVs to have - very - generous reviews in general, and the rare time someone shows up with a negative review it's usually the tourist who took a wrong turn and got upset at tropes or someone angry about a girl being mishandled, rarely anything about the game as a whole or the DRM nightmare in half of those.
I'm in a similar boat, trying to force myself to get back to and finish Love Is All Around, my initial gripe with its online only nature ended up giving way to my issues with its design. One thing when you play a game you don't like but nothing really sticks with you like Roommates, but man, this one had a strong start with a lot of promise on casting and production alone and that's so frustrating. Yes, I am angry about Li Yunsi, but there are other structural problems.
>>566617257 I feel like usually there a few negative reviews about how the story and overall presentation is handled, but they are always overshadowed by the overwhelming positive reviews. The always online complaints tend to relegated to the forums though.
I feel you. I ended up liking Love is All Around overall, although I found the second one to be much better.
>>566623417 Oh, absolutely. Andy is really hot. And in the first three chapters of the game she is the only one of the four girls who is properly handled. But one girl all on her own can make up for all the other flaws the game has.
But maybe it is worth it to see it through to the end just for her...
>>566676679 The tattoo is awful and there is no fixing it, she should have been in a one piece swimsuit covering her stomach and not in a bikini.
For the rest of the cast, how anyone could think it was fine is beyond imagination. Storytaco usually have really good promo images, but they absolutely screwed up on this one. Sucks because the promo image will be the first thing people see of the game.
The Fame Game II, and American FMV but seemingly Chinese backed, is having a vote where people choose which girls get cast as the five main characters. I've been keeping up with it because it is an interesting idea. Yesterday the total number of votes was around 3000 after 4 days of voting. Today it jumped to over 10,000 votes. Seems weird to me, but I don't know if enough people care enough to rig it. https://interactive-films.com/act/202512/voting/#chooseActor
>>566836021 It's great. You will die a million times but it's entertaining as hell. The production value is ridiculous and I'm pretty sure all the actors are legit, not recruited models.
>>566839978 >The production value is ridiculous and I'm pretty sure all the actors are legit, not recruited models. That's the norm for Chinese FMVs. It's Korean FMVs that lean heavily on using models and streamers.
>>566841770 Well good on China for it haha. All the women are very hot, though a couple have that weird dimple plastic surgery. But it's not a dating thing, it's guiding your young lady through politics. Very enjoyable.
>>566941353 There's a lot to like about Gyuri but for me, her face is too obviously surgeried while Yuna is the most facially beautiful of the whole cast
