minecraft biomes feels so dead sometimes, I even installed a bunch of mods that just add in random critters around the world and instead of a lively world filled with the animals, most of them just congregate in certain places such as savannah.
>>566385312 it's always the biggest "protect the hecking children" advocates who end up being the child molestors. same thing as all those radical feminist men being creeps and rapists
>>566385312 >Remember that time Guude fired bdubs and genny for 'preying on children' because they advertised a server? No I don't. What was the server, and how was it framed as preying on children?
>>566398151 Nu-Jang sucks but I gotta give it to them in her design, she looks very homely but outdoorsy still. Like if you are not a city slicker you have probably met someone that reminds you of her.
>add sulfur >don’t add anything useful or would make sense like craftable gunpowder >instead treat it like yellow stone but don’t even give it the full stone block pallet >literal SULFUR cubes have no real in-game connection to the sulfur material besides spawning in that ugly ass biome >only cool thing you can do with sulfur is making geysers, but you can’t really control them (or at least not yet hopefully) so they’re not useful for contraptions g-gee, thanks mojang…
>>566411506 some other shit because genuinely what is mojang’s problem? >add granite/tuff to the biome to try to address blending issues, it completely backfires because of bad execution, take two weeks just to backtrack, so in total that’s three weeks of nothing actually done to the biome >original surface sulfur springs are ugly as fuck, bare resembles what they were going for, had to spend precious time to completely redesign them >made sulfur renewable but not cinnabar because fuck consistency >issue with ores not generating in sulfur caves still not addressed after backtracking with granite/tuff, so right now the whole biome is just a waste of space
>>566384595 It really is. Even the minigames it was supposed to have made have literally no discussion anywhere. It's an absolute failure of a gimmick mob It's just going to get people to hate it as they TNT grief your builds with ghasts or spears whilst outside your claimed chunks
>>566406320 >No I don't. What was the server, Some average pre-EULA p2w server that's almost certainly gone now. >and how was it framed as preying on children? Tbh almost every pre-EULA server from Hypixel on down was preying on children (more accurately preying on the childrens' parents' credit cards). A lot of big youtubers were even running their own.
>>566440056 >What is it? Another gimmick mob >Why did it leak so early? Because this mob is apparently such a big deal that mojang had hallmark make it a christmas ornament that would be ready to order around the same time it’s drop (fall drop I assume) releases, and it ultimately leaked when hallmark released their catalogue showing upcoming products
>>566440056 I would believe this more if not for the little rounded thing in the middle, is there a single mob in the game with rounded textures given everything is in pixels?
>>566440056 It already looks ugly as fuck. Another Sniffer tier shitter incoming. I liked the copper golems a lot so they have to make sure I don't have too much fun.
Copper golems initially were so fucking useless. I'm glad they axed it and brought htem back with a useful mechanic like sorting items >Wow it presses buttons so does my chicken in a hole standing on a pressure plate
>>566465002 i don't trust them at all. Maybe because being a woman and a Minecraft player is way sketchier. The skeletons in their closet must be rotten.
>>566478567 Dragon fight isn't hard but finding the stronghold is a weird and tedious process if you aren't used to it. Most players go to nether fortress to loot the chests and blocks, they don't like fighting blazes. Getting ender pearls is a pain too if you don't do enderman specific farming which is why many people only have a couple of them.
>>566467795 It’s just hermitcraft >many hermits are married men, their wives probably don’t want them chatting with pretty women on the job >the few women on hermitcraft would get insecure, gem likely causes enough problems as is
>>566506220 wasn't gunpowder called something else at one point in early development? i wouldn't mind a name change but using the word "black" in relation to something destructive would trigger a LOT of retards
You know what's the main problem with the current hunger system in Minecraft? Saturation. Is a poorly designed ducktape that stitches everything together. If it didn't exist we could have different stats that did each thing, heal and energy boost for sprinting in their own efficient way, giving the rest of the edibles any meaningful use beyond starvation fillers.
When would they announce the blub drop? I want to make a new world but don't want to start one if they're going to add new biomes to worldgen again I wanted to before but we're getting sulfur caves I'd miss out on so I waited
>>566561410 Man, I keep putting off making a new world because the drops keep adding stuff You can't even chunk reset just caves. I had to reset my new world before because the deep dark got added
Wish they went back to the longer downtime for bigger patches system because this. It makes me not wanna make a world because they're just gonna add more stuff that wont generate in a couple months unless I travel super far
>>566562882 I have autism from when it used to do this during updates.. I heard it's better in recent times but not heard how it would affect the new cave biomes and such. Wouldn't it also apply structure/biome spawns on existing chunks updating them to what the seed would be in the "current" patch? Like turning your existing underground base into a sulfur cave biome and causing the slimes to spawn
>>566563352 harsh chunk borders like that don't happen anymore, and preexisting chunks should not be changed to match the "current" patch. it should just affect newly generated chunks
>>566496995 >Pearl just made a weird pose in that photo. you're coping anon. saying something that goes against the norm doesn't make you le hecking unique. Gem and the pinkshadowlady(?) are objectively prettier women.
>yeah we’re gonna add this new block/feature that would work perfectly as a jump boost or elevator or elytra launch pad but we’re NOT gonna immediately implement a way to control them and instead let players beg for an indefinite amount of time to add it
>>566528230 >You know what's the main problem with the current hunger system in Minecraft? yeah, it exists just make it slowly restore health retard kuns @ mojang
I got to a big hall above the Ancient City I'm cleaning up and was planning to excavate it to open the roof of the city higher, but a few minutes after this picture I triggered a Shrieker I couldn't find and got sonic boomed by a Warden I couldn't see.
I know that nothing I had specifically is unremakeable, I have diamond armor and all the enchants I need, and an iron farm to get the levels and the torches and all the deepslate I'll need even before I go back up here. Hell even the Netherite Upgrades can be redone... but it still sucks losing all that work to things you can't fight. I like that about Minecraft, it reminds you of that everything can be lost, but everything can be remade, and progress isn't lost in death. Dying didn't undo the work I made on the lanes around the city, it didn't undo the cleanup, and it hasn't locked me out of still working on the roof again. I just need to find the shrieker and kill it, and then all my plans are right back where they were before.
>>566586812 >it reminds you of that everything can be lost, but everything can be remade how about applying that logic to getting a job as well? you aint a philosopher fatty.
>>566505746 Minecraft being marketed to (((faggots and women))) kids as always is the worst thing that could happen. They tried hard to ruin Kerbal Space Program also but the game is a filter itself. Also why kids = fag shit always? because it was never about kids, it was about revenue and advertisements.
>>566517476 When dealing with hermaphrodites, the mother is the one who provides the eggs and gives birth and the father is the one who provides the sperm, doesn't have to do with gender. In Minecraft, when breeding, the baby mob spawns inside one of the parents, so that would be the mother.
>>566604161 >Also why kids = fag shit always? Because gotta indoctrinate them while they are young. This way they won't question it for the rest of their lives.
Last year actually got me optimistic about the drop system, there was a good mix of new stuff and QoL improvements. This year however just hasn’t been good, tiny takeover was literally tiny and the current one feels so shallow despite technically adding more. The general feeling I get from other people is that it feels like mojang gave up right as the drop was starting to look good
Thank you random silk touch pickaxe from a ruined portal spawned in the middle of the village with this library. I won't have to slaughter as many cows as I thought.
Btw it's weird how adult villagers are cute girls but babies are still jews. Using Hololive Villagers resource pack because it's the only one I could find with cute girl villagers. I think they will change into Hololive members upon using nametags? Not sure. Right now they are just biome dependent. No idea if it's using some other mod as a base. Everything that looked really good last time I checked was either for old versions or paywalled.
>>566615061 you don't even need silk touch, they drop 3 books without it but you'd need 6 planks to remake the entire block but yeah early game silk touch tools from ruined portals are a god send because at times you can even find the equivalent tool with mending so you can combine the two
>>566614916 That shouldn’t be a problem if they actually planned the update better, they spread themselves thin between a super gimmicky mob with no real use in normal gameplay, and an ugly biome they wasted weeks trying “fix”
>>566630123 doesn't surprise me. I don't think they had any other option. Guude and Mindcrack go hand in hand. it's not like Hermitcraft and iskall (who did nothing wrong) where they can just kick him out and keep moving. Guude has pretty much been the face of Mindcrack since the beginning
>>566621287 No, the java development team is like a small AA company in size. Minecraft is one of the biggest franchises ever, you need that many employees for everything Minecraft-related that isn't the game.
>>566630123 Rebranding under a new name is the only move they can make if they want to salvage what they've built together. They all seem pretty eager to keep what they have going so removing Guude, who's tied to the Mindcrack name, from every facet of anything new is the best call
>>566631960 What even happened to iskall did any info come out after Guude was also the original owner of hermitcraft but it's gone long along that it's not really associated with him anymore. Unlike new mindcrack is
>>566630123 Good decision. Now they will be able to pick more family friendly name which isn't associated with drugs too. That label must have been a huge burden to their potential growth over the years as internet landscape changed.
>>566639618 I'm starting to worry iskall might have lied about some things. AFAIK the most egregious thing (imo), which was the "they gave me 1.5h ultimatum to explain myself so I quit" came from iskall himself and nobody else has confirmed it in any form. Hermitcraft just ignored his response. Iskall was promising more details would follow as police investigation progresses but there have been zero updates since then and it's been more than enough time already for some developments to happen. At this point I think nothing will come from it. I'm willing to entertain the possibility of the scenario that iskall made up the story about the ultimatum to save face, potentially lying about police involvement as well, while Hermitcraft crew didn't deny those claims because they simply wanted the case to be over and forgotten.
>>566643083 Use performance mods retard. Game runs perfectly fine on ten years old devices if you don't go for 4K textures with turbo shaders and max render distance.
>>566648045 Some will have to be reworked to do that but at least it's possible. Drowning/magma block based farms still work although slower, it's just those fall damage only ones that need modifying Randomly getting a zombie piglin with up to 100 hearts seems annoying though. Imagine just playing and expecting to kill them only for them to keep surviving your attacks. Shouldn't they have a banner or different textures?
>>566651085 Yeah, I've seen youtubers doing it. You have to renames the filenames of the jars of the horror mods and make them something non-suspicious, then send them the modpack.
>>566565536 >>566567410 Oh nice. I'm an oldfag so I remember it breaking like that and being annoying. So how did they fix it, pre-existing chunks don't never get updated with new biomes/structures said seed gets in new update? Meaning if you chunk reset parts of your world through a 3rd party program it would then generate said structures etc?
>>566566653 Yeah I'm hoping no new biome but they'll probably add a structure. Probably will wait and see what's announced before starting a main world. Last time I was going to they did the caves/cliffs update, so I waited and then dragged that out for years so I got put off
>>566681905 Slime texture changes Overworld vents are more ugly Nerfed geysers lift strength Another dumb block interaction with the slime nobody uses Patch slimes using frostwalker Enjoy your patchnotes tomo
Any recommendations for 16x resolution texture packs with either a modern or post-apocalyptic aesthetic? Spent all afternoon poking around but couldn’t find shit, it’s all just random slop. I’m on 1.20.1
>>566701957 "Innocent until proven guilty" died during #metoo. An actual criminal indictment is like a thousand times more proof than there is against most people who get canceled. Usually a google doccy is enough.
https://xcancel.com/gnembon_mc/status/2054155528129937620# Very rare dev tweet specifically about the snapshot, minecraft might actually be saved today???
>>566717416 even more hopeful because it's a gnembon tweet. at his core he is still a very technical minecraft player, much more so than any other dev, so him being excited likely means there is an interesting change coming that will be useful for the technical community
https://www.minecraft.net/en-us/article/minecraft-26-2-snapshot-7 new snapshot, new music disc, friends list and peer to peer multiplayer, potent sulfur with lava underneath will create a continuous geyser plus other changes
the only thing that could get me excited for a new update would be a magic forest biome with blue grass and leaves with glowing mushrooms that actually give off light and maybe even clovers that act like pink petals/wild flowers/leaf litter and have them biome specific in coloration like grass magic trees on top of all that which give us blue, purple or green wood
>>566733179 No seriously how could they have said the drop was “feature complete” last week when they still had something as big as this? Were they not totally sure if it could be added in time?
>>566737747 I haven't messed around with it yet, but I can almost guarantee it's done through Microsoft servers. There's no way in hell modern day Mojang would give us true peer to peer
>>566737747 This is basic multiplayer tech, anon, a ton of games have it. No need to port forward. >>566740123 Are you retarded? It's as much "through their servers" as self-hosting a non-cracked server is. That doesn't make it not p2p, if that's what you're implying. There's no reason it wouldn't be, they'd be giving bandwidth away for free otherwise, and bedrock already has this.
>>566740123 If it even goes through any server at all even for logging then it retarded and you may as well use Hamachi like the good old times. or self host with the minecraft-server jar.
>>566730515 >potent sulfur with lava underneath will create a continuous geyser While not an on/off this is as good. You can dispenser the lava, although dispensers sound louder than pistons imo (they ought to reduce dispenser/dropper sounds already like they did pistons) Perma also on means it's better for building stuff like waterfalls or trains too
>>566730515 >Geysers' force goes through some transparent blocks Gay. That's what made them good for your base elevators, you could blend them in What blocks do they go through now? Or do you need exposed water pockets?
>>566753961 Geysers can go through non-collideable blocks (scaffolding), but my biggest issue with the bugfix is pic related no longer works, this has to be an oversight
>>566753961 You can make them flush against a wall with sticky pistons blocking the top block, but it will still have a hole The main use for the waterlogged blocks was not needing a 1x1 to contain the water, it's a lot more clunky now
>>566766053 >Everyone initially defended it for muh multiplayer minigames >Still nothing interesting has happened because that All this shit is going to do it take up the mobcap
>>566770553 What's wrong with just using it for football and golf and other simple sports and games? You don't need something innovative, just the fact that minecraft has working balls now is great.
>>566771173 You could already kinda do that with the armadillo and nobody bothered. Obviously the slime is much better for it but still, there's really not much engagement with that kind of feature. Any big server will have datapacks/commandblocks that allow for versions of that which function better. When servers can already do it, and it's completely useless solo, having it be THE spotlight thing of the drop was a disappointment. Like others mentioned, the best features this patch have been the geyser and peer2peer multiplayer rather than the slime itself. p2p by itself is already gamechanging
>>566788848 Only dispense them, like fish and axolotl You can give them blocks and shear with dispensers though. but no collection system for the cubes themselves to make it fully automatic
>the fantasy "OH MY GOD THIS IS AMAZING I CAN JUST CLICK A BUTTON AND JOIN MY FRIEND'S WORLD WITHOUT NEEDING TO SET UP A SERVER"
>the reality Your friend lives in Ghana and plays on a 20 year old walmart laptop over tethered wifi so it takes ten seconds to download each chunk and your ping is 800.
Gonna be awesome for groomers too. No more worrying about Hypixel jannies interfering in your sex life and probably even simpler than explaining to some kid how to join your Skyblock island.
I opened more of the 'roof' on the ancient city to a higher chamber above and dug out this section and several top layers. It won't be the entire roof but it will give a range to reach for the rest of the work.
>>566803726 The cave up ahead leads to a big opening of a second Ancient City. When I'm done with this, I want to make a roadway from the base one to the unexcavated one with wheat fields and small houses, but obviously the base comes first.
>>566803940 Those crosses in the paths are staying empty for a reason, I want to later gather Spruce, Crimson, Warped, Acacia, Mangrove and Pale Oak trees for the different spots. I remember hearing that Disney parks, and probably other theme parks, like to have a few high ticket attractions stand high above other spots in the parks to act as map-less visual aids to climb between and reorient myself around the base. Unfortunately the Roof's only so big so the trees can't grow or get tree growth added on the logs to really extend it, so I need to clean up the roof first.
I'll also be placing down brighter carpets that indicate certain pathways between the different side structure (Ghast Port, Village Breeder/Zombifyer, Iron Farm, etc.) Maybe swap the brick and torches to Copper Bulbs and Candles if I can get enough beeswax.
>>566760673 >Why would you need more strongholds? so i could build past 20k block radius without cucking myself on end dimension >Use vanillatweaks i can only accept lifesteal shilling, no hermitcraft please
>>566730515 >peer to peer i kneel for this feature, this makes this update first good one since nether update, i can finally play with my brother directly on my world without setting some weird machinations to play, but still, this doesnt redeem mojang in my eyes, they have to keep good work up, and this is a good way to go
>>566813515 >i can only accept lifesteal shilling, no hermitcraft please Vanilla Tweaks isn't Hermitcraft. The one hermit that used to be a small part of it (mostly administrative, I think) left the team several years ago
>>566828840 I knew it's mostly different people but I didn't realize only Xisuma was on the team. I guess he was too busy managing Hermitcraft and making videos and left vanillatweaks in capable hands.
>>566829117 I also don't think he did any actual development - he just ran the site and, I guess, started the project by getting a few devs together to get things rolling? I'm honestly not sure, I just know he left quite a while ago
>>566831832 I only ever watch his snapshots videos, so the most I've seen is a "please like and subscribe". I don't know if his HC videos are worse on that front. Either way, I was just surprised by how his voice and tone has remained unchanged for so long
>>566735038 >>566734975 >>566733976 > The flight sim Xplane12 publishes a new update. > The VR update > Apple Vision Pro support on the main title, which nobody cares even in the simfag world > way below in lower case almost. Native mixed reality and Variable Rate Shading implemented, which were things everyone was asking for a long time. They are not the only ones doing that
>>566849617 It's tangentially relevant. A lot of companies don't know their players as well as they think they do, or they'd rather focus on what they think will sell or improve their relations with business partners, instead of giving the players what they want. Mojang is the same way, thinking the sulfur cube will be a big hit for multiplayer minigames, when in actuality people are more interested in the geysers or dropping TNT on villages
>>566850858 >Mojang is the same way *Microsoft Mojang absolutely knew this would be a big feature, that's why they teased that "something big" was coming this snapshot, but Microsoft can't make merchandise out of something conceptual like p2p multiplayer and friends lists.
>>566855064 Why did you name them after The Beatles? Also grats on getting all 4, some how 2-3 of them always die on me as the skelly riders try to kill each other
>>566855064 most I've ever got was 3. I named them after the girls from Faster, Pussycat! Kill! Kill! because I had just watched that at the time. only one is left alive today (Billie)
>can’t test out the biggest snapshot in recent years cause I have no friends, both online and irl, and I’m too autistic to give out my profile name fuck you Mojang
>>566885540 I foresee the blub to be another cum cube situation. Mojang thinks people are going to lose their shit, and instead get a resounding meh. But hopefully they'll be able to salvage the update in the same way they did this time, so maybe that's a good thing
thoughts on the new music from Chaos Cubed? IMO it's the best music they've added since the Nether Update. It at least fits the vibe of Minecraft a little more
>>566890594 those are just cherry blossoms anon, it only looks purple because the sets are using the simplified version of textures from the promo trailers/art
>>566890594 Those are cherry blossom trees, just a weird color for the given art style. You can see the cherry grove grass on the image that's the same color as the grass on the arena floor along with the cherry blossom tree props. It's probably a screen showing off vibrant visuals which makes them look slightly darker and more "vibrant"
>>566897604 This was stupid, though. The end was supposed to be the end of existence, that everything had run down into just some porous stone and the dragon and a couple ruins. Now there's entire living biosphere and a civilization that still exists? Stupid.
>>566898442 probably never thanks to sliced lime working on prototype seasons, mojang will probably use that as an excuse to never add actual yellow leaf trees that we can collect and place around the world because the possibility of actual in game seasons "could" exist which we all know never will
>>566898270 Some biomes and plants are still IC for that. Nature will eventually reclaim it, even at the end of existence. Old ruins are fine too They can lore it like the the thirteenth in FFXIV. Where the void/endmen travel to our world to bring back stuff to "fix" their world. That could explain why there's plantlife again there, endmen already carry blocks so they can say they brought over some grass or leaves and those grew and adapted to the end environment
>>566892719 Here's an unofficial recreation of the trailer textures with a shader pack on. Compare it to the actual footage that >>566890594 is from and you can see the similarities, especially the tree trunk shape
>>566902441 yeah sad. I will probably have to change the texture of one of the other white tress Im not a fan of. or maybe there is a small datapack. I'll have to take a look
>>566922667 The minecraft 2 movie needs a new plot so introducing either the end or a deep dark dimension for vanilla is almost certainly happening before The end is most likely though first
>>566910354 >unofficial recreation of the trailer textures You know the actual textures leaked, right? Also hate that rotated sun, why do those "recrreation" modpacks not disable it?
>>566902441 What does that data pack have to do with anything? They added a spring biome with all year round pink cherry trees, seasons wouldn't stop them from adding other leaf colors. You're making up fantasies to get mad at. There's also problems with adding seasons, snow would mess with the player's world without player action, which goes against their design guidelines.
>>566924116 Yeah I actually discovered that recently, I've seen a couple packs that compile them properly just none of them had cherry blossom screenshots that I saw
>Also hate that rotated sun, why do those "recrreation" modpacks not disable it? because they're retarded. shaders look like ass IMO anyway
>>566924302 Anon stop being dumb for a minute What kind of plot would a minecraft movie 2 have? They already have done the nether. The end has fuck all there. There's no deep dark dimension yet. What kind of plot can they add that people can relate to in vanilla?
That's precisely why we'll get a dimension ahead of time. The movie is next year adding a dimension sometime this year means that even if movie info is leaked like before, it wouldn't spoil a potential update since it would already be out.
>>566924673 >20 minecoins have been deposited in your account! if you seriously think modern day Mojang/Microsoft is giving us true peer-to-peer without tying it into exisiting Microsoft services (Xbox accounts) and ID verification, I have a bridge to sell you
>>566944474 You know minecraft accounts are tied to xbox accounts since the migration, right? No shit, they're very clear about that, that's not what this is about, ant is complaining about bugs.
>>566946908 I know, and I also know that plenty of anons here have used cracked clients since the migration, either because they didn't want to migrate to a Microsoft account or because they didn't realize they needed to, making this peer-to-peer system completely useless (which is fair, that's a risk of using an unofficial version). I'm also just saying don't be surprised when the bug for not being able to see chat from non-friends gets marked "Working as Intended". they will use this to have even more control over what you can say and do in the game, and I can almost guarantee ID verification will be required in order to use the friend feature
>>566941929 The problem is that there's modpacks advertising themselves as authentic recreations of the trailer artstyle, when the trailer artstyle doesn't the sun rotated or off-axis as far as I can remember. It should be turned off by default by the modpack creator.
>>566954592 mostly meant about mojang failing your extremely high expectations of them which is retarded in 2026 by definition as there's still no strongholds past 20k blocks radius and no proper tool to break glass fast, retard
>>566955027 then why did you use a very stereotypical response that assumes people aren't talking about video games when you yourself knew they were talking about video games, retard
>>566960337 you having a hard time understanding what people are saying then getting mad assuming they're not talking about video games when it was clearly stated they were isn't anyone's fault but your own, retard
