>>566409356 14 of World's 19 new monsters are in NOW and 8 of Iceborne's 17 new monsters as well Rise has 6/13 (not counting Apex) and Sunbreak 3/12 (not counting Risens)
its kind of insane how many players just multiplayer from start to finish and are absolutely horrendous at monster hunter like I get its a multiplayer game but theres legit people out there that I just know would get raped 50 times sideways by LR anjanath or a Lagombi is they tried solo I genuinely dont see how they derive enjoyment from running around the zone doing absolutely nothing but drawing the monster away from people actually trying to hunt it
>>566560526 and to add to this I know most people start out bad but Im talking about people who will do this for hundreds of hours and see no need to change just got out of a fatalis sos that took 19 minutes because the host (mr 782) had their weapon drawn for maybe 4 minutes total and they were just sprinting around and diving everywhere and at one point he ghillie'd just to hide and chill for a minute. like how do you play so much that you're nearly mr 800 but youre scared to hit the monster. I'd rather help someone who constantly carts and fails than just have others play the game for them anyway sorry for ranting but its very annoying
>>566566234 the daily login and daily bounties give a total of 5 Blossomdance Tickets every day which are the only real time-limited craftable material you only need like 5 male, 5 female, 3 palico to get everything the transcendence materials are just hunter symbol 1s and wyvern gems or something if you really want, you can equip 4p Blossomdance and get chances for more Blossomdance Tickets to drop (or for the special bombs)
I love monsters that have a charging attack where the attack animation is identical to their walk/run animation. I love having to 50/50 if the monster's entire body is a hitbox or not. I wish more monsters had an attack where they just become an active hitbox with no warning or tell.
>want to play some monster hunter >launch wilds >hunt a frog just to test the performance >meh >go play GU on switch >get overwhelmed by choosing weapon and style and arts >feels weird without second screen >go launch mh4u on 3ds >save has ~140 hours >don't feel like jumping into a 10* Hunt after over a year of not playing >try 3u instead >can choose between hunting a barioth or rathalos >don't really feel like doing either >still burnt out on rise >shut down 3ds >lay in bed >stare at ceiling >SCREEEEEEEEEEEEEE >khezu flops onto me >cart >wake up tldr what weapon should I try in GU to give myself a reason to play it gunlance feels like shit, crit draw greatsword is a bit boring, lance feels finicky, switch axe feels gay in a bad way, etc maybe I'm just depressed
>>566572905 idk I had trouble hitting stuff bc I'm used to mouse and keyboard. given the long hard lance and powerful thrusts, I would assume so though once you get used to aiming
>>566569943 Well, since you went and did the thing.. Can anyone help me find a suitable waist piece to go along with this set so I can replace the shitty sash? I want there to be something on her waist (so no turning off the armor piece), but nothing bulky or long; I want the top part of the silhouette to remain larger than the bottom. I can't find anything that matches it visually and I've been breaking my head over it.
>>566572751 I do. My job sucks ass. Overtime and no weekends off is gonna be the end of me. I can only grind endgame mats and size trophies twice a week. But I do my best to declare my love for Tsu-tsunie chan when I'm not too burnt out from work.
>>566575463 not her but both those look too floaty
>>566573760 i actually think slightly more bulk than the suja sash is better since without it, the seam between bale top and omega bottom is really obvious chata female, balahara either, and odo female look okay to me, but i dunno your personal taste
>cut tail off gravios >watch it limp through your attacks and dig into the ground >watch uncarved tail pop out of existence I was so fucking close, dammit.
>>566572310 Make a new 4U save, dummy. I don't know why you're even contemplating a soulless, bloated, empty husk like Generations Ultimate. I do like the hyper monsters though!
>>566586964 literally just PCheat unless someone baits me into blogging about it for the 67th time im really sleepey
there's no way of knowing if you save any orichalcite burning base artian parts to get the best combination of reinforcement types first vs using orichalcite to reroll until you get the best combination of reinforcement types because the sequences of upgrade levels for each set of reinforcements is seeded with global seed behavior
Is red health 'real' or fake? I thought Risebreak's Berserk skill would let me automatically trigger effects like Heroics and Dragonheart but it only seems to actually trigger when the red health reaches that threshold.
See I always thought that Red health wasn't actually really health.
I finally got my ghoulish! I thought it was impossible to break both horns so I practiced only attacking when I could get a shot at his head (very fucking tricky since I'm using SA). First go and no ghoulish. Then I realized I could do the job quicker if I had Partbreaker so I sacrificed Evasion +1 and got punched a shitload of times (my armor is Azure Rathalos gear upgraded to Lv 7, 83 defense each) but I finally did it. Let me tell you, that Evasion +1 comes in handy sometimes...
>>566587629 I think it's only for berserk because Dereliction/Bloodlust work how you'd expect once you pass those threshholds and it keeps your drained health as red.
>>566560526 As someone who often plays with such people, they simply play to relax and can almost never solo anything harder than a 7*. True casuals exist.
Any other AMDcels here who suffered constant D3D Device Removed crashes? I got the latest 26.5.1 driver that was put out for RE9/Pragmata a few days ago and apparently it fixed something with Rebar/SAM and now I can't get Wilds to crash anymore.
>>566586964 It's best to get the proper reinforcements on a regular Artian since you can dismantle them and get all your oricalcite back until you get what you need, then you upgrade to Gogma and use a bit more oricalcite to make the augments stronger. Or you just cheat.
>>566595619 if your first set of results is cursed it could take longer to reroll untill you get your max possible levels vs rerolling until the next instance with the same combination of types and rerolling that set until it gets its max possible levels or the next next instance etc.
also if you're rerolling multiple elements/weapons rerolling for levels on one weapon advances other weapons' types (and levels) tables so optimizing orichalcite costs is a fucking mess
>>566615664 Wyvernblast is a special ammo that uses your gauge instead of regular ammo pool, it behaves similarly to cluster bombs. It got buffed to the point that it's the easiest way of playing the weapon. While you can just pair it with any of the infinite raw ammos, a lot of people make sets that take advantage of elemental ammo while the wyvernblast gauge is recovering.
>>566615664 >>566616858 wyvernblast is "easy" if the monster and/or your teammates cooperate but really you just dump a ton of damage when your gauge is full and burst damage on CC is very high if you >build for full investment in wyvernblast then you have to cope with spread/normal/pierce to rebuild your gauge while doing zdps on average it's more damage than trying to force spread/normal/pierce on gogmartian hbg where full investment into spread still falls short of steve hbg and the other 2 were dead on arrival if you're a lucklet you can probably gacha just 1 gogmartian hbg for full wyvernblast
if you >build for full investment into element ammo, you deal consistently high damage but it's not very exciting and you don't get much burst damage on CC you do have to gacha (at least) one of each element
if you >build for a mix of wyvernblast and element you get big burst (but not max) on CC and consistent (but also not max) damage in between technically you get slightly more damage using different gog focus and/or reinforcements on hybrid vs full element but the difference is small except for on dragon, i think
>>566619947 Transcending R7 armor (like Gore) only increases your ability to upgrade its defense but you still have to spend armor spheres to actually get the increased defense Gore kinda fell off between TU1-TU4. Only a couple pieces came back and were swiftly replaced by Sororal options anyway.
How do i get my zoomer gf into mh? The playerbase is so horrendous she developed a negative bias because of all the trannies and furfags latching onto the game
>>566625261 I'm playing Stellar Blade since it finally got cracked I'm glad I never paid money for this game it's not very good and even the coomer elements feel soulless
>>566626729 To see if it eventually clicks. Sekiro took me a long time to get the feel of and now it's one of my favourite games so I'm giving this game time to flesh its combat out and see if it gets better So far it's not looking good
>>566626921 As someone who played it It won't It's far more notable for the culture war shit around it than the game itself, both from people who championed it and people who went into histrionics over it. It's just an okay game with a large amount of TnA. The combat was never as fun to me as something like Sekiro. Lily > Eve
>>566627096 Yeah that’s pretty much my thoughts too The combat is mediocre at best and feels like a sum worse than all the parts it’s cynically trying to lift from other games and executing them worse Even the gratuitous pantie shots and dress up can’t save it since it all feels so clinically put together and inorganic
>>566627449 Pretty much. I've played worse but it never really gets any better, overall. For all the same shit it went through Wuchang at least was pretty fun to explore the levels for me. Stella Blade is like a series of Uncharted climbing before you fight a boss, but that's like the whole game.
Greatsword is such a miserable weapon to play once you start learning advanced tech and tight openings for specific monsters, good lord. Being an ignorant draw attacker or grug is bliss, I wish I never advanced past that stage with this weapon.
>>566655434 actually that's wrong because you can actually play both styles in FU since there is a build that can have both focus and critdraw allowing you to optimize all openings with both styles
Does anyone have the MHW custom quest mod and a guide how to set it up again? I'm playing through world again on a new save but I can't do HR Kulve because it's not in rotation
>>566663589 those things were always just fake endgame for mazed rats, I hate that stuff too but I just ignore it every MH game is at its best when there's content so hard that you have to engage with the systems a bit to minmax and kill a monster. When there's no hard monster and you're just grinding easy shit for RNG upgrades you don't need it's just speedrun tranny autism and only a certain type of person enjoys it
>>566666086 i think monster hunter games are at their best when the endgame monsters have a great enough variety in playstyle that nearly every player can find an endgame monster they love hunting and obsessively hunt it for several years.
>>566666395 I hit the button for delete when I thought I hit the button for re-edit and I thought it was a prompt to go to the editing screen but it was a delete prompt
>Get on Wilds >4/50 in room >They all hunt together >Don't wanna be the asshole that ruins it >Leave When does the Doshaguma challenge quest come back? I gotta try for A rank.
What are everyone's favorite monster attacks in the series? I have two.
This first is Nargacuga's heavy tail slam. My first exposure to Nargacuga was in 3U and I was like 13 and all I could think was "Wow, that really hurt. I'm going to learn how to make it pay for that." And it took me a really long time to properly start punishing it and my older brother made fun of me for it. I know a lot of monsters have tail slams but I loved this one in particular probably because I just love the Narcacuga aesthetic overall.
The second is the backflip into 5-point ice spread that AT Velkhana does after a bite with ice-aura up. I love that it's after its bite, the most unassuming attack. I also really like that it does the backflip exactly perpendicular to your direction from it, to get as far away as possible from you. It's like "I'm Velkhana, and you don't deserve to be this near to me. Back up." And the very regal pose it does right after too. It really gives me chills. I wish there was a way to just observe monster moves while solo, but sadly it will stop attacking if you ghillie.
>>566670881 i really love all the monster hunter moves befor world where they instantly start running where they do much more damage than their actual attacks
>>566670881 I was going to ask about this actually. I don't play monster hunter but I just watched monster hunter frontier zenith special moves and like half of these things are fucking comboing you https://youtu.be/QXfjs-iVFxc?si=8saHznByjkp-4gvZ&t=1203 Like what is that??? Do newer games have this stuff
>>566674787 Lol. Low frame charges are definitely frustrating but I guess they have a certain silly charm to them. I imagine there's a few people out there who like them a lot. >>566675341 Not really but there are some monsters that are designed to punish you for responding to getting his in a certain way. Rise is a really good recent example of this. A lot of monsters would punish you with a follow-up attack if you didn't wirefall. But there were also monsters that would punish you FOR using a wirefall after getting hit to mix things up. AT Velkhana (yes I know, I am talking about Velkhana again) has some of my favorite punishments for knockdowns. If the targeted hunter gets hit by its backward leaping tail strike then it will use the ranged ice block attack to cart anyone who spams their get up, whereas as someone who stays down for the i-frames will live. But you still have to time the get-up properly because there's a chance it'll spam the attack multiple times while you're at that range.
I like how freeform rise switchaxe is. When I played world/wilds switchaxe it felt like I had to always use the sword mode and blast or I'm doing extremely low damage in rise I find myself actually using the axe mode because it has competitive damage when the weapon is charged and I like the mobility of it a lot, while still liking the transformed moves in certain situations
is this actually competitive damage later? It's fun and monsters are dying but I wonder if it drops off later with different switch skills
I know im late to the party but I just want to say that the low rank story for wilds is the most excruciatingly shitty thing that has ever been done to this series. Fuck that Anata retard and fuck the fucking walking segments, what the fuck is wrong with the people who made this game.
Also why the fuck doesnt hammer have an offset attack, fuck these people.
Oh yeah I see it now, upswing off spinning bludgeon and the y combo. Guess its not as fucking brain dead as gs, but looks like I will need to learn how to use it.
>>566681135 World :/ The monster will be Velkhanam no argument there. But I am struggling to choose between hammer, lance or SnS. They all have great meaning to me, both with respect to World and also my first MH game and how I've played between then and now.
>decide to play some 4u w a new charger >after playing for a while >controls start spazzing out >have to stop before even finishing the steak quest suffering
>>566683316 every time you fire it the game pauses for CHANCE TIME and makes you roll a slot machine with your daily gacha coins until you get three clutch claw icons If you don't then you game crashes to desktop
>>566683545 no but you can just check SOS for people posting investigations with guaranteed gems for base game monsters it's the non-tempered version but for lagi and steve it's only tempered version
>>566683807 maybe i'm wrong i have an 8* gore with guaranteed gem but it's paired with blangonga i could post in lumu but my gf (female) is almost done making dinner...
>>566684607 I'd like for some type of flail that has a chain which allows for slightly longer ranged melee attacks on demand. But the longer range attacks have longer recovery and dont really combo all that well afterwards. So you only use them in specific cases. Kinda like switch axe upswing being used to headsnipe flyers, but much more versatile.
>>566560526 >>566560879 This phenomenon has been a thing since forever. An official monster hunter manga Flash Hunter even had a joke about it where one character is a mid-tier hunter who doesn't actually know how to hunt because she kept getting carried by her team mates.
>get to a monster >ambush it so I can get a head start on building my gau- >roared out of it right >fine whatever I'll just fight it normally and build gauge >monster uses the perfect attacks to make that very difficult >finally say fuck it and take a hit to charge my vials and shield >okay now I just need a perfect guard to charge the other half >oh I mistimed that >mount up and heal >oh I mistimed that >mount up and heal >okay I FINALLY have my weapon fully charged >and right in time for this knockdown! >oops your shield's charge ran out :^) >well the monster is knocked down so I can recharge easily at least >okay lets send this load! >get roared out of it >monster runs to a new area >all gauges and resources empty by the time I get there Man I suck and all, but this shit is so infuriating. I feel like I am fighting against the controls, UI, and systems more than I am fighting the actual monster The few times everything lines up and I can play properly with my weapon its fun. But the other times I'm just yelling at the fucking screen. Half my commands straight up ghost (especially on the seikrit) this shit is driving me mad lads >just don't use charge blade bro same shit has happened with: >LS >IG >SA and probably every other weapon
>>566684607 I think a channeling type weapon could be interesting if done correctly. maybe the longer you channel, it ramps up your damage and ramps down your defense perhaps another two state weapon, where one state drains the user's health but enhances range and deals extra part break damage, while the other state is defensive and increased status application mine laying could be cool to explore, with an activation timer required otherwise the mine just breaks if the monster touches it too early, to prevent just dropping it at the monster's feet. something that relies on prediction and baiting, but with little in the way of defensive capability or immediate damage maybe a weapon with a unique status ailment that debuffs the monster in varying ways depending on where it hits, using the kinsect system if needed under the hood maybe you could have a mounted weapon, where you ride a velociprey and use damage over time, relying on the mount's agility to stay alive while the dot deals its damage a bowpistol in one hand and a terrain only grappling hook in the other, for highly increased mobility at the cost of damage a poleaxe weapon that, depending on attach, can do pierce, slash, or crush/KO damage, but has no defense other than dodging and relies on proper hitzone management to use effectively quake 3 rocket launcher
>>566691525 every three minutes you look at the top right of the screen and read what buffs to reapply otherwise it's just spamming 5 notes
>>566691631 too bad it already does blunt, pierce (resounding), slash (50mv at a time), and has no defense other than dodging and hilt counter hitzone management is optional
>>566689682 Some times when I change my shortcut loadout to sharpen my weapon while Omega is charging the Delta Attack, the seikret will come in and take me out of the shield. Double whammy of modern d-pads sucking plus whatever it is that the game is doing with inputs
>>566689682 >>566690476 Hunting horn is more challening to use and I say this as a CB main. If you're having trouble managing your buff uptimes I'd say equip power prolonger 3, I'm also assuming you have Load Shells and like other anons said, earplugs is really good
The old armor system sucks, you pretty much get no benefit until you make a complete set in low/hr. At least with the post World system you can craft single pieces at a time get some something.
>>566707819 So make a full set what’s the problem? Those two levels of attack you would get in World aren’t going to make an earth shattering difference to your hunts after you make one piece
Is GS overpowered in Wilds? I feel like I can tcs anytime I want with all the ways to go straight into it. So far it has felt like I just hard bullied every monster I fought except arkveld.
>>566712412 GS feels terrible to play at endgame and you won't even achieve particularly fast hunts. LBG is overpowered, DB are overpowered, CB is overpowered. GS is mid-low tier at best.
>>566714726 First of all, stop talking like a nigger, you're a 40yo white man from Shoshoni, Wyoming Second of all, you're gonna deliver those eggs and you're gonna like it you goddamn shitstain, you hear?
>play mhfu >crab armor is best because sharpness is cancer >play mhgu >crab armor is still best these games sucks, Wilds G should just get rid of this outdated mechanic
>>566716514 Crab armour has been the best blademaster progression in every game they're in since the crabs were introduced And it's soul and we love the crabs
>>566702614 wilds hunting horn is better for solo than its ever been there's a lot of fundamentals you kinda need to be aware of but i'm not lying when i say it's just 5-note loops over and over
>>566723292 Because coordinating people to play older games is annoying and tricky I've tried a few times to post GU rooms and it's never went well because spontaneously spinning up a room for these games relies on there being someone currently in the thread who also has the emulator set up and wants to play at this moment Which just by law of numbers is going to be a very small percentage of active users in the thread compared to people playing the new current game Also there was a Rise room posted a few days ago that filled up
>>566713283 The moving wide sweep > fullburst > fullburst > wyvernfire combo gets boring after a while GL is notably the easiest weapon to do good damage with, even if the long animations mean it's not the easiest to play just the second or third easiest
How do I cope with playing this series for over a decade and not being able to do a 4th of the time of a speed runner in any fight. It’s unironically screwing with my ability to enjoy these games at this point.
>>566736347 Are you actually trying for a good time or do you think this is something you can achieve passively by playing with shit sets and meme weapons grinding shitmons
>>566736986 Not trying no. It’s just feels like night and day sometimes. I struggle to handle AT Arkveld in 30 minutes casually only to watch someone manhandle it in 8 minutes. The difference definitely extends beyond gear optimisation but I could improve there.
>>566738380 Is the difference really that massive? We are fighting the same thing but the outcome is drastically different. I guess that’s an okay cope if I’m desperate
>>566738684 I saw a video similar and it was a very small time compared to my borderline timeout hunt I did but I was still proud of having beat it because with my skills I still did it. I felt the same with fatalis when I finally was able to overcome the place I've been stuck at for days.
>>566738058 speedrunning is highly dependent on fight scripts and resetting if the monster goes off script and/or modding to enforce certain behaviors if you want a better comparison look up livestreams or clips thereof
that's not to say it's only PCheating and infinite off-clip resets that give those times you do need a certain level of skill to execute said scripts and react to minor deviations that wouldn't cause a full reset
30 minute AT Ark is pretty bad though ngl i'm notoriously bad and i cleared the free challenge solo in just under 14 minutes tried solo again on Friday and got like 18 playing really really badly
sidenote: speedrun scripts also affect the choice of armor/weapon skills which is why i don't recommend using speedruns for general >build advice either
>>566736347 What's your favorite monster? I am of the belief that if someone loves hunting a monster a lot they'll figure out how to exploit its openings naturally.
>>566738684 >>566738058 >Is the difference really that massive? Yes >>566595315, now mind you that mine is an extreme example but the gist of it is that if you want to be fast you have to sit down and hunt the monster over and over. Speedruns do require knowledge of the monster yes, but also lots of good rng so my question to you is: are you able to defeat monsters consistently (80% success rate or above) and want to be faster or are you struggling to clear at all? The solution to both questions is to simply hunt more but going faster is something people do mostly for fun, if you wanna do it just because you feel bad about your current times it's not gonna be a fun ride.
>>566734042 easiest doesn't mean the most fun I liked gunlance bc you had to consider different things and make choices about how to fight, but now it's just braindead
>>566736347 cope? it's probably a sign of good mental health to not get speedtranny times
>>566740016 Once you start naturally figuring out a monster you will converge to faster and faster times without even intentionally speedrunning. Obviously it won't be a speedrun level time, but it will be significantly faster than average and much much faster than what you were getting at the start. I don't think it's right to call someone out for having fast times, they could just be autistic about that monster.
>>566736347 I'll solve this for you. Speedrunning in momster hunter is fucking gay. They reset until monsters do the exact moves they want them too, so they can execute their predetermined attacks. It's called scripting. The result looks cool but it's fucking gay.
>>566739375 Honestly never thought about the coding and scripting angle of it. As for AT arkveld, my gear isn’t finished. I just hit rank 100 and it was the first thing I did. I’m sure I could get the time down gear improvement. What do you mean by the “free challenge solo”. Is there a fight with him outside of freedom from solitude and proof of a hero?
>>566739437 Don’t really have favorites in wilds honestly. You’re probably right though.
>>566739670 Not trying to be a casual. I’ve soloed ex boltreaver and several others ex fights in XX. Soloed Fatalis, omega and so on. But it’s never easy.
>>566740798 I’ll look into that. I’ve never really looked at monster hunter as a game and tried to break it.
>>566741241 "script" in this sense has nothing to do with programming it's the theater meaning of the word where you want to determine what you do in response to what the monster does second by second like reading the lines from a play
all AT monsters were released as an "event" quest (all of those are now permanently available but still in the event category) followed by a limited time free challenge quest with official time submission and leaderboards if you meet certain thresholds in the free challenge quests you got exclusive pendants as rewards
AT ark free challenge quest name was Proud Child of the Wilds
I'm installing Monster Hunter Wilds as we speak. This will be my first true MH game (only played the stories games beforehand) any tips or general advice for a newcomer?
>>566750965 the paid cosmetics give you an advantage so buy them the story in the low rank part of the game is very important so make sure you pay attention to it never get off your bird; you can attack on it and it's safer eating food before each hunt is actually bad so don't do that either the stars next to elements on monsters means that they are very strong against that element so if a monster has three stars next to a water element make sure to never use that defense boost is the most important skill in the game so always make sure you have it maxed out (or at least as high as possible with your armor)
>playing GU >first time SnS >hear people for years say how amazing oils >its literally just a fucking crit uptime buff are you niggas serious right now? this is the shit you have been saying is kino for a decade?
So... what am I missing about the high rank 4U Rajang armor sets? They all have a little bit of Handicraft which appears to be useless unless mixed with something else and then the stamina buffing blue fire (the name of which I can't remember) and enraged monster red fire (Spirit). Are they just meant to be mixed with each other or other stuff?
>>566753071 Oh >>566753182 Yeah, I'm not familiar with his HR set because I just used 2gore and a random HG earplugs set I made but I can tell you that one of his G rank armor pieces gets used a lot to enable Honed Blade
>>566752071 I hated forgetting to apply these but Mind's Eye in a game where you don't get decent green sharpness until halfway through Low Rank is a lifesaver. I forget when it unlocks though, so it might be restricted to higher levels anyway. Still, handy when a badly timed bounce means a cartwheeling cat nap.
>>566753479 Yeah, on my main save file I mixed my Narga set with one of the Rajang ones after someone called my full Narga set shit and I found a god-tier Evasion/Evade Distance charm that gave me more Evade Distance than I can use (which means there's still room for optimization). I'm also autistic about armors clipping and miraculously the Narga helmet and one of the Rajang mails don't make it too obvious.
>>566716729 Ceanataur armour is almost always the best mid-tier option in every game he shows up in because of the excellent skills for its rank, only real elemental weakness is thunder, and the fact that it doesn't generally require rare mats like plates and gems making it easy to craft. It also looks pretty good too.
>>566679360 >>566688498 Well, I took down Raging Brachy on my second try with help and carted twice. Still got a dozen MR levels before I can health augment my frostfang weapon and 30 before I can augment my new Raging brachy weapon. This shit sucks man.
>>566761670 then do >>566761608 scroll through event quests and look for the ones that say they give extra MR in the description. 58 to 70 is probably like 5-6 of those. if you can already clear fatalis consistently and quickly that probably gives the most MR but I'm assuming that's not the case for you
>>566761862 Can't unlock Fatty until Alatreon which is the Safi recon + MR 70. Mostly been farming decos through the tempered zinogre quest since I'm still missing some offensive guard ones
>>566761760 Same bingo card replies since day 1. I think the most annoying one was claiming inclemency gives the monsters new combo routes and quickens their enrage phase. >inb4 it does No - it doesnt. Combo routes are fixed and rage timers are damage based fixed numbers. Dont you fuckers start with this shit.
>>566762901 >The safi recon quest becomes available after Yian Garuga The safi recon becomes available available after you do the stygian zinogre assignment and hit MR 24. yian garuga doesnt block ANY progress in world except for scarred yian garuga. the only requirement for yian garuga is reaching level 3 or 4 in the forest region. nothing is gated by it,
>>566762904 Cool screen shot. The reality is that Yian Garuga unlocks at Forest 3 and MR 29. Safi recon doesn't unlock until you finish that so it's impossible to do it at MR 24 regardless of what the quest says.
>>566763153 I'm arguing with someone using chatgpt to make bait replies aren't I? It's mr24 and like I mentioned in the post above yours, the yian garuga hunt doesn't roadblock any special assignments.
>>566763160 >what region unlocker Worlo lumus are region locked so without a mod or changing your steam region you can't play with people outside your region.
>>566763880 the region lock is solely for sos flares if someone from any region posts a room code you can join said room either you're trolling or you're an actual retard trying to argue with people who've wasted hundreds if not thousands of hours already playing this game
i know worlo doesn't have region lock because i'm in the US and i remember playing with W******f almost a decade (5.5 years) ago and i recently learned he's numbers dragon's inbred cousin
>>566763880 Cool google searches anon. I, however, played the game in question, not just learned about it from the web, so I can tell you without a shred of doubt that you can play with anyone in the world
Its hilarious that mainline let's you skip from Shara straight to Fatalis and skip all tempered, GLs, ATs etc. >If people have to play the game they wont like it so let's get them to Fatalis in 10 hours.
>>566764826 I hate it so fucking much. Capcom really said "fuck 70% of the content in our expansion" when they dropped Fatalis and gave him such an absurdly low MR requirement and utterly fucked the progression
>>566764994 Ive carried so many Mexicants and Braziis in Morlos because of this. Then you have to block em cause they want hard carries everywhere backtracking to ATs and GL.
>>566764826 It makes me really sad. A lot of people don't get to experience AT Velkhana because of this. I don't necessarily think AT Velkhana is harder than Fatalis but I feel like it's a much more representative fight. The normal Velkhana hunt was so... underwhelming. I still believe that the AT moveset should've been the normal moveset, with the damaged tuned down to match the armor at that point in the game... I really don't like how they presented Velkhana in the IB story at all and so many people never see the real version because they just quit after getting Fatalis stuff... It's really sad because it's just such a fun and beautiful hunt.
>>566765305 AT Velkhana is 100% harder than Fatty and I have killed both at least 1k times if not more across 5500 hours. Fatty has so many openings and slow attacks the the only reason he doesnt die in 5 minutes is because scripted sequences aka filler. AT Velk has higher damage modifiers, a much more dangerous and expansive moveset that shifts AoE size based of his ice cloak and you ain't slapping mantle on and getting free shit like Fatty. And all this makes sense because he is tuned for post Fatty gear.
>>566765661 I don't really speak too much on Fatalis difficulty because I don't really hunt it very much, never did. So I don't have a good grip on where it lies. In World I really only deal with Velkhana and Rajang anymore since they're the most fun for me.
From my experience as a chronic SOS responder, randoms fail AT Velkhana significantly more than Fatalis which I find so weird because I personally think Fatalis requires more effort. I want to attribute it to a bunch of sharters watching Fatalis guides so they know how to cheese that hunt. But then they decide to show absolutely no discipline and respect to AT Velkhana and constantly fail. I once spent like 4 hours trying to help some guy who was ~MR 300 clear AT Velkhana for the first time. Dude was just eating shit from the same patterns over and over again.
>>566767785 Because a baseline no skill bias comparison between the two will show you how much slower and telegraphed Fatalis is. You also dont have the smoke bomb, ballista pin, dragonator or mantle abuse tools against AT Velk making for a more honest experience.
at the end of wilds dlc i want Alma to say "Lets put an end to this monster, hunter." and then wilds is the last mh game to give the namedrop narrative weight >but you can't cancel the franchise for a one liner! fuck you nigga
>>566738058 Something like AT Ark in 8 minutes is beyond 99% of the playerbase playing blademaster weapons on regular sets, so this isn't exactly something you should get troubled about.
>>566738058 Do keep in mind that the gear matters more than you think too. Those people usually run all offense gear with other stuff that helps DPS during enrages and intentionally lower health. They eschew ALL comfort skills that might help you stay alive or reposition better.
Speedrunning is a meme. In my opinion you're already better than most of the players just killing the damn thing by yourself. So what if you took 30 minutes.
>>566560526 >Think I'm shit at the game >See posts like this >Realize maybe I'm not so bad >But I'll never reach speedrun tranny levels The curse of the midwit.
>>566781441 the only thing that kept status from being completely dead from the very beginning was 8* monsters and below being undertuned that it didn't matter if you weren't doing 5-20% more damage by element matching since true raw, status, and element all had the same base raw potential thanks to artian gacha being built into the base game element damage is FREE* on top of that
even now there's like r*nged and probably 3 other weapons where anything more than bare minimum element is actually worth it and the gap between element and status has only widened
unless they dump the build-a-weapon workshop and purposely overtune a couple status weapons in relation to endgame element weapons and bring back shit like BuB and un-nerf poison duration up and foray and undertune monsters again status will remain dead
>>566761670 Hey I just got back to the thread kinda late, do you wanna pop in to my guiding lands? I can double check which areas I have at seven, but I'm pretty sure coral highlands is one of them. I've never hosted before, and I'm kinda trash, but it could speed things along if you want it :D
Holy fuck, I can't stop shaking... I just finished the double Furious Rajang quest with 14 seconds left on the clock. I locked in and got punished hard but somehow managed to avoid the Dempsey Rolls and he did his pin animation on my cat which gave me just enough time to go all out on his legs. The fucked up part is I broke both horns on the other Rajang and didn't get any ghoulish horns. Bullshit. I still can't believe I managed to kill the second one in that tight of a squeeze.
>>566681049 >>566681331 I ended up using greatsword! My first AT Velkhana clear was with greatsword so I figured the one that takes me to MR 999 should also be greatsword! Boulder kill to boot, haha. Velkhana my good friend I hope capcom does not forget you.
>>566793314 >Velkhana my good friend I hope capcom does not forget you. He returns 3.5 years later in Sunbreak and the fight is ruined; they make a Hazard version that is so oversized it cannot hit you or even trigger most your counters ruining the fight further. Sorry bro maybe Milds G will do him better.
I still have the screenshot from my first clear of it too! MR 100, decked out in base Velkhana armor and an un-augmented raging brachy GS, scared out of my damn mind and no idea how its aura mechanic works or what its patterns were. Then over to MR998 and trying to troll the monster I love the most in the whole franchise haha. What a time. And you will come back even better, Velkhana. >>566793531 Yes I know it's in Sunbreak. I think it's OKAY. The sunbreak version is closer to World's AT version than it is to World's base version, and that alone is a step in the right direction for me. Capcom did a great injustive sidelining Velkhana for Nergigante, I can only hope that future iterations can make it fearsome as it should be.
>>566798304 It had way more ATs but the Witcher TU was dogshit. World peaked right after Extremoth. Also it had way more arena quests at launch and over 35 challenge arena events. Milds has Jackshit in comparison. The reason World gets a pass was because it was the first to do all that shit; Milds is the same treadmill but worse and the fans have spoken. >7k players out of 1.3million
>>566798304 Thinking back on it, I dont think so. Roster was bad in base World, all you did was farm Teostra and Nergigante. Kulve siege was okay the first few times. We didn't have layered armor or weapons to farm for. I think base Wilds after all the updates is better than World after TUs.
Man, Wilds has the worst replayability in the series. Low Rank is a fucking slog, its like they took the decision to allow cutscene skipping personally and added the dogshit walk and talk sections to slow you down. At least with a mod you can skip all the cutscenes in World and just go from hunt to hunt 95% of the time.
>>566799981 tbf we are comparing the game now that all updates are out. You have way more options to hunt in Wilds currently than you ever did in World. Everyone agrees base Wilds sucked with Arkveld being the only monster worth farming
>>566799989 I like how if you even dare to want to explore a little the game just jerks your camera back to the intended path and takes your control away anyway. Fun stuff.
>>566800112 >makes these huge maps >doesnt let you explore at all during Low Rank >by the time you get to high rank you are already trained to just let the bird take you everywhere This game just has too many badly thought out systems completely at odds with each other.
>>566800098 So then include everything and dont say World was just a Teo farm after all updates. Disingenuous as shit to ignore all TU monsters and the dozen AT fights.
>>566800262 But no one ever farmed TUs or ATs in World. You did them for their sets/weapons and then you went back to regular tempered investigations for the easiest EDs
>>566800573 You farmed anything you wanted between Tempered T2 and T3s for decor and streams tones. People farmed ATs. What you are implying is the same thing if I said nobody fights anything in Milds after all TUs except Seregios because he is the quickest charm farm.
>>566792075 idk i had to stop hunting to have s*x times are probably on the event quest page and rewards will be distributed starting like 10 days after the end of challenge as per usual
>>566799936 it's not even new pendants nice for people who missed the first run, i guess
>>566800995 nobody farmed worlo ATs, sis capcom actually stuck to the meaning of event quests back then so if you missed the launch window you actually had to wait until a festival to catch up on AT gear AT rewards did not give investigation bonus boxes and they were strictly harder than investigations in every sense so it just wasn't worth it even among the T3s it was generally agreed that kush, kirin, vaal, and lunastra fucking suck for varying reasons so people usually chose nerg and teo first if they had a choice
nobody farms the launch versions of wilds ATs either even though they're available permanently the 10* versions are actually worth farming because even though they're not guaranteed to drop any rng charms (no investigation boxes problem again), the ones they can drop cut out the 86% chance of it being a shit charm the 10* ticket is also a versatile new feature
if the people of wyveria split into two, with one group leaving and founding suja, and the other staying and founding sild, why is suja only wyverians and sild is a highly diverse group of humans? wouldn't it make sense for the denizens of sild to also be wyverians? if either group were to be solely wyverians, one would think that it would be the ones who choose to stay in wyveria, right? what if Tasheen and Nata's people aren't the descendants of the Moribito, but the descendants of humans who murdered the original wyverians and took their place? if they really were isolated for 1000 years, they would look less diverse. what if the rumors of Tasheen being evil were true, and G rank sees him being the antagonist as he wants to use the guardian monsters as an army?
>>566803501 Yeah man nobody farmed anything but Teo. Never mind you could headlock Kush and loop him with very little effort or counter loop AT Jho. Oh and T2 tempereds were farmed because they gave better deco chances than T3. You are a disingenuous poster and nothing you say is absolute. Both games have shit TUs because Milds is Arkveld and World is Teo.
>>566804074 there were checks and counters for every perceived bullshit thing but it required much less coordination and investment to just burn up the easy T3s first and hope you don't have to dip into the bullshit ones for too long before getting good ones again i'm not gonna pretend i remember everything from almost a decade (5.5 years) ago but if i was in the rooms at a busy time and people posted a nerg and kush at the same time you can bet the nerg fills up first and clears first and everybody knew it people weren't dumping all "bad" T3 invests just on principle but there definitely was widespread agreement on priorities
>>566804894 I played SoS to death and with friends. The community at large farmed the pool of T2 and T3s. Again I can say Milds is a Seregios simulator and nothing else matters because mhg and some people prioritized that fight to grind for 100 hours but that doesnt reflect the SoS community at large. Both games have over 10 fights that are endgame grinds; what you choose to tunnel vision into is your own.
>>566805068 tf are you trying to argue "pls don't invalidate my lived experience but yours is ackshually tunnel vision" bihh you're just in a different tunnel
>>566805445 i think his point is that multiple tu monsters gave the exact same shit and you only think people were grinding teo because /mhg/ was grinding teo (because he was the easiest one, and people in this general are obsessed with minmaxing) and he's not wrong.
>>566803962 suja is expatriots of the ruling class sild is refugees of the servant class think of like middle east or central america or any other conflict zone with high rates of corruption
>>566805445 Bitch you're just dumb faggot trying to claim the Teo tunnel instead of unbiased outlooks lmao. How tf you in earnest believe you ain't retarded is beyond me.
>>566804894 >5.5 years ago Base World was 9 years ago. Did you start in 2021 IB lmao? Is that why you think it was a Teo farm and not Teo/Nerg/Vaal at release? Dafuck
it's a layered non-joke someone posted a yt a few threads ago where either in the title or the first few seconds they were praising worlo for holding up so well after almost a decade but all the screenshots and clips in the montage were fatalis and other iceborne end-of-service content so i started saying 5.5 years is almost a decade
>our options for MH for the next decade >milds G which will most likely be dogshit >rise 2 which will be another dogshit anime slop super move spamming game is it unironically over for this series? World was the perfect game and look how far we've fallen.
>Thanks to the bullshit the player and crew got up with new paths between the West and East has been created >Monsters are crossing over between the two >The expedition is ordered back home >The last Ace Hunter is called back from the New World >New mission is dealing with the new monsters showing up >Caravaneer is helping the party get around the world >Yes, this is basically Generation Ultimate 2 >New gameplay feature is each weapon getting one GU style updated and you can swap between Wilds or it at will
>>566815261 Literally ONLY trannies care about plot in these games. You should be thinking about how they are gonna change the game for better/worse, not fucking "story".
Monday, May 18th, 2026, at 9:00 a.m. – Sunday, May 24th, 2026, at 11:59 p.m. (local time)
This event introduces two new riftborne monsters: Glavenus and Pukei-Pukei!
Style customization will also be unlocked for weapons forged from their materials, and the same update will add style selection for the switch axe. During the event, Glavenus (including Riftborne), Pukei-Pukei (including Riftborne), Viper Tobi-Kadachi, Rajang, Nightshade Paolumu, Goss Harag, and Bazelgeuse will be more active.
Chameleos activity will also increase at Elder Dragon Interception points. Along with increased Hunt-a-thon rewards, group hunt rewards will also be boosted! This is your chance to upgrade fire and poison element weapons, the weaknesses of Riftcharged Legiana, and get ready for Base Defense!
I think Wilds is a good game and I'm hyped for Wilds G I think focus mode is bad for Monster Hunter Dos is my favorite Monster Hunter and I hope they will return to their roots one day I like Tokuda and Ichinose but I like Fujioka more I don't mind ghouls
>>566820347 >I think Wilds is a good game So you are ok with each of these points? >PS3 graphics >Retarded interface >Every low rank monster dies in 2 hits >Every low rank monster deals 0 damage >Unskippable walking segments >Infinite restocking so it's impossible to die >Power Clash is literally just a 3 sec cutscene that wastes your time and doesn't do anything >No cat cooking >Weather system serves no purpose other than make the game worse >Like 95% of set bonuses are useless >The "endgame" consists of hunting the same apexes because, for whatever reason, Capcom refuses to make every monster 9star tempered >9 star tempered monsters oneshot you and have more HP than Fatalis so G rank will feel like a cake walk >The "reward" for killing 9stars is gacha talismans that give you skills (even though we already have too many skills) >No HR final boss >Artian system makes 99% of weapons in the game useless (lmao) >Collaboration is not even a monster but some generic colorless robot >You can use NPC hunters on monsters but them carting doesn't count so it's literally just cheating >Underwater combat >Less monsters than MH2 and 4 >No MH language >First flop in franchise's history
>>566825169 Nice one, retard, but that wasn't it. >>566825359 Yeah, that's what I realized. For some reason they are keeping stuff like the PS4 and special edition versions separate on that page. Makes zero sense, if they count them all together on the financial reports.
>all this buildup to get the kid to the place >hunter: um what if I just fucking kill the bad guy instead >everyone: omg we forgot you could do that! Heckin based omg yes king slay! >small indian child and all his struggles rendered totally irrelevant because it turns out you can just slaughter all the fauna
>>566821950 >around 300k in the the first 3 months of 2026, including all the performance improvements for PC and the final "bonus" update >same poor result as TU2 anf TU3, and less than TU4
Wow, turns out the performance weren't the only issue and Wilds actually has a lot of things people just dislike? Shocked
>>566829040 >hunter: um what if I just fucking kill the bad guy instead A whole advanced civilization was killed by the thing, a guy with a slab of iron on his back kills it. Did no one in Wyveria try to hit it until it died?
>>566831369 1% lows improved a little so the game does feel smoother than at launch, but averages still suck ass and framerate takes a dive in areas like the forest or the open plains full of small mons and endemic life running around. I literally get the same performance I used to get during the open beta in those areas.
I think it's just that people with really bad CPUs could go from not playing the game at all to console-like performance or something, so we got this bizarre meme of fixed performance when the game still runs like ass. And they had to make this ugly game actually uglier to accomplish even this. They even nerfed the HD texture pack for zero reason.
>>566821950 Notice how RE9 sold half as much as 8 in 0 days while Wilds will never even approach World. Reminder that the most popular cope here about Wilds sales is: >Dood, it can never compare to World, it like came out on many platforms or something that's why it was selling like crazy for 10 years while Wilds sold 0 copies after a month since release
>>566773197 The game just runs worse than it should no matter what. The only real improvements seen were with lower end hardware. Very little change with higher end hardware.
>>566831987 It flopped nigga because the IP is damaged. >>566832607 Milds has been 15 months of nonstop cope from the 7k remaining players on the entire internet. Its basically a cult.
The game's fps hasn't improved but the game's resource usage has dropped a fuckton, meaning its easier for more systems to get a 60lock than at launch. At launch the game used up all of ur vram, badly used ur GPU, spiked ur GPU temps and had inconsistent CPU frequency spikes. Now it barely uses any VRAM, GPU usage is efficient, gpu doesn't get hotter than 60 degrees at most, and cpu frequency stays mostly the same.
So the game got easier to run but not faster to run, that would take a miracle to achieve given how awful Capcom's tech team that is in charge of mainline MH is.
>They even nerfed the HD texture pack for zero reason. at least a modder recently fixed this, and funny enough undoing that fuck up still has the game using very little resources so Capcom nerfed the textures and meshes for no reason.
>>566829040 >>566829550 >>566831013 No clue why they didn't go for a Predator-style story An unseen (and unspoilered) monster with some fucked up abilities that almost look impossible at first, until you encounter it a few times over the story in different locations and finally understand where he comes from.
>>566834295 not even that, all u need is just to force the game to DLSS4 preset K and run it on quality with the mesh/texture quality fix, thing looks crystal sharp even on 1080
>>566834459 I was being ironic as I don't even play at 4k myself, but I've seen some anons post some alright looking sshots occasionally. To make this turd look its best you need to disable some post processing via mods and run native 4k.
>>566821950 At this rate the top 5 best selling games will be just RE and World, as the only MH game. Why do people like RE so much now? There was a time when the top 3 was World, Rise and Iceborne.
>>566837973 Zoomers and s o y boy millenials have attached their personality to the IP. Shitcom fucking sucks at making games nine times out of ten but they are really good at shilling products to NPCs
>>566838729 >>566839497 the games clearly got a boost in popularity in the last year or so. RE2 is from the same year as Iceborne and it's now on track to surpass Rise
I finally soloed G3 Urgent Lao-Shan Lung in MHGU. I used the Buster Blaster and my skills were Pro Transporter, Artillery Expert, Pierce Up, and Attack Up S. I got the kill, but it was extremely close; the fort only had 10% left. Take that Nintendo!
>>566840640 Yeah that's how it works. RE9 came out and is insanely successful so people who got it are playing the older games, especially considering they are on 90% sales
>>566842243 yea, i own a switch and had base rise on it. shit was awful. thank fuck they released sunbreak at the same time as PC. No idea why you would play it on Switch when even the shittiest PC can play rise at 60 fps
>>566842096 It was pretty obvious since the switch version was at 8 million sales before it even launched on PC. Player retention is likely the same as the other entries, so we can guess it has probably at most half as many sales on PC as World or Wilds. makes sense because PS/XBox/PC gamers have an insane belief that graphics=quality
>>566842243 >>566842368 I have it on both PC and Shitch and Risebreak is retardedly active on the tablet toy. Do not underestimate shitendo fans they are playing Dong slop at 540p 15- 40 fps and loving it.
>>566841024 meanwhile >oh boy i liked the new mh games to buy the older ga- >>566842368 because japs and kids are tech illiterate and get the ick from steam
>Wilds already at 11m sales before its expansion >people think its a flop Once the expansion is out and major sales happen this game will shoot up in sales bigly.
>>566842554 I seriously doubt the expansion will do anything more than 5M in the first year. The ONLY reason why wilds sold as much as it did on release was because of an incredibly strong 5th gen that put Monster Hunter on the map in the west. There was a ton of good will from World and Rise, the majority of which was burned down with Wilds, after people woke up from the marketing hype and saw devs drag their feet on fixing the game. No monster hunter game going forward will ever see the kind of hype Wilds did, including its expansion. People will be wary of purchasing on release or even soon afterwards, and unless the game is amazing and fixed, which, looking at Wilds 1 year later... those sales will just never materialize, people will simply go to other games. When taking into account the seeming pattern of expansions selling about half of the base game, even 5M is incredibly hopeful.
>>566843126 Somewhere below 1.3M, since it's not in the chart, and while I'm not exactly up to date on how many total sales it has currently, below whatever would put it at 30M, since Capcom would jump at the chance to post about it
The best critique of Wilds I've seen was "it's a good game but not a good Monster Hunter game." If it were Wild Hearts 2 people would be going kookoo over it, but CAPCOM is held to a greater standard.
>everyone focusing on Wilds underperforming >nobody notices Stories 3 selling less than 1.3m >which would align with the fact Capcom hasn't announced 1m copies yet >this would put it well below Stories 2 sales, a game that was probably a lot cheaper to make Not even surprised desu, even shilltubers moved on from Stories 3 to Outlanders in like 2 weeks
>>566844693 the anti marketing campaign worked out it seems. glad to see this shit dead and buried alive. hopefully they won't release overpriced shitty spin offs anymore with content locked out in dlc lol
>>566844693 >release game where you can create all sort of crazy minmaxxing monstie >the endgame to properly use said minmaxxing isn't out until 6 months later >absolutely no content inbetween
I still have no fucking idea how they tried to pull this shit again after it backfired so much with Wilds one year prior
>>566844693 Wilds underperforming is in large part responsible for Stories 3 not doing as well as it could have desu It was always gonna do smaller numbers than core monhun games, but having a solid entry before it would have helped funnel more fans to it, and wilds had a metric ton of new people it could funnel. But because of how Wilds flopped in terms of player retention and has only done the performance patches almost a year later, something which every competent game dev will tell you should have been a priority since day 1, many must have written the game off purely off of the association with Wilds
