Throwing acid dual revolvers into a firebeam combos it into a tornado without needing a second spell, meaning that you can have two tornados up at the same time if you take fireball and bubble as well.

It's basically damnation except it's always high intensity and there's usually another modifier on top of that. And Maelstrom has its own set of extra modifiers as well, like extra barrels or reduced ability cooldown. If you can consistently clear shock trooper gauntlets on damnation, it might be a good idea to move to aurics.

On the morningstar, possibly. In missions, probably not because that would involve recording a lot more voicelines and creating something that notices when a skitarii is in the party and allows those voicelines to be used.

Cant be any worse than the techmarine in SM2 who has zero new lines for any of the old maps. And on some maps the regular banter even references mission objectives being easier while having a techmarine, and he's in the mission with you

>>
>>566636181
Because it's swedes, I assume they lowered the max amount of crushers, but forgot to lover the overall max limit of "enemy units".
So, let's say, if each crusher took 5 "units", now these "units" are free, and AI director just fills them with other enemies like bombers. And because the bomber takes less, something like 2 "units", then 4 less crushers can lead to 20 more bombers.
Something like that, that's how shit works in Helldivers 2.nothing fucking works in helldivers

Get excited, because after three years of game development we're finally getting ARMS and LEGS.
Other than that, only new event stuff, not much else of interest.
And they deleted the ukrainian skitarii and aimbot ult strings.
>>
>>
>>566640635
oh neat the next event and it kind of ties in with expeditions being about mechanicus stuff. Do we know what arms and legs will mean in greater context of the game or is it just these values with that as the note?

Looking further, arms and legs together with lens and metal colors are probably skitarii specific customizations. Lines up with "Create your own Skitarii, choosing your own material types, augmentation schemes and the forge world from which your character came." from their description.
>>566642465
No, don't think that's it. Tried to piece together what this event probably is out of the other new strings.

>Why does shitshark hate the most overpowered class?
Because when the game came out and veteran was in the majority they had to acquiesce to their demands, beginning with the much deserved power sword nerf that got walked back eventually due to massive bitching. Now there's DLC classes, and they don't give a fuck anymore. Veteran doesn't need to be OP, they don't care if you complain, pay for power or get the fuck out.
>>
>>
>>566651252
they are only considered "overpowered" because the only difficulty in the game is dependent on how many armored enemies spawn. if anything blame the shitty armor system and how pathetically weak the majority of the arsenal of weapons are in this game. it's not that veteran is powerful, it's that everybody else is weak as fuck and not tooled properly against the bullshit of this game.
>>
>>566650976
>>566650880
honestly i wouldn't even take demo stockpile if it wasn't right above shout. especially not now
>>
>>
>>566651746
Knives, RPG (+1), any aura (usually ammo or crit), rampage with bellows, usually AF but sometimes dependency.
Crit node in the bottom left is important. Stamina curios. Backstab node makes your DPS retarded if you have a zealot lock down a boss with chorus.
>>566651686
Smokes are untouched and remain S-tier if you know how to use them
>>
>>
>>566651989
You've clearly only played with memeshitter scum if you don't think the class to be stronger than psyker. Try one that isn't a worthless meme build and actually kills things.
Psyker is easier to achieve that performance with, of course, considering that many groups fail to compete even with memeshitter psyker builds that put brittleness on their staff because they don't know how crits work.
>>
>>566651904
i've started to run smoke a lot lately. since youtubers decided to start saying bubble was ass and boring and not cool because apparently psyker needs another 200k damage per game on top of the 2.5 million he already gets
desu running smoke is actually more fun than just being another source of damage. the whole fun of playing vet is having to constantly micro to keep your team safe so whats about thing on the list you know.
>>
>>566652351
>since youtubers decided to start saying bubble was ass
I don't follow youtubers and I always thought bubble was pretty bad at actually helping you win if you're good. It's extremely good at that with bad players, but you can easily filter those based on their build decisions.Even if that does cause the local autist to have a melty when you decline his super epic off-meta no-field-improv vet build
Bubble + smoke is surprisingly comfy because no projectiles are ever allowed to matter, but the damage output becomes pretty bad.
I do think shriek is much better than bubble, especially combined with smokes, although that also assumes having a brittleness spammer in zealot or ogryn.
There's a whole chain of assumptions one has to make before calling bubble bad, and honestly, most pubbies still haven't caught up and will never catch up. It's likely that same crowd who still thinks chorus zealot was bad (it never was).

>Lines up with "Create your own Skitarii, choosing your own material types, augmentation schemes and the forge world from which your character came."
Wait a minute. Could this mean that skitarii appearance can change based on what we equip? Could that be possible?
Like you can specifically change out entire arms or legs or heads on the skitarii that we got to play as? And I mean this as in gameplay system for creating builds.
I bring this up since I remember one anon here in /coopg/ months ago after arbites released and before scum was revealed, talking about how Fatshark had supposedly experimented with equipment system like this, but for the Arbites DLC. Like you could've changed your arbites appearance based on equipment. Like imagine the Rebreather talent on arbites, when you select it, it visually gives your arbites a gasmask.t.
Could it be that the devs are repurposing this system?
>>
>>566654656
They did do fancy things for arbitrator. Dog has its own cosmetic slot. I don't see why skittle shouldn't have an implants cosmetic slot.
You just won't have access to it unless you pig out $12 or whatever the premium version is.
>>
>>
>>566654851
Sure, but I'd be extremely surprised if it was individual arm and leg customization and not just "a handful of alternate cosmetic designs for all arms and legs," in the same way the dog only gets singular body and head slots and not more modular options.
>>
>>566652734
my issue with shriek is that it just adds more damage to a class that already shits out endless and unparalleled damage. it doesnt offer any additional utility to the class or team.
some might say that bubble is a shitter crutch but where do you draw the line with that argument? are shout and chorus shitter crutches? is taunt? the amount of stability that bubble adds is much more valuable than some extra DoT. imo
of course the recent patch probably blows that argument up entirely. vet doesnt need kraks that badly now, and with increased gunner spawns smokes value is mooning
>>
>>566655498
>it doesnt offer any additional utility to the class or team.
Shriek suppresses everything on your screen. It shuts down an entire gunner nest for a couple seconds. It also fully goes through walls and has fuckhuge range.
>where do you draw the line
At bubble exactly. It removes shooters as a mechanic, which no good player actually needs by the time they discover dodging and sliding. Every class can shit out more than enough toughness to get by with the brief milliseconds-long window of vulnerability between well-timed slides.
I feel like chorus and shout are in a pretty fair spot after the massive nerfs to cooldowns in general. Chorus used to be on that level of crutch when you could still CDR stack with a health build that just throws 3 choruses back to back. It no longer does that.
>>
>>566655498
>my issue with shriek is that it just adds more damage to a class that already shits out endless and unparalleled damage
That's been my take on shriek on a flame staff psyker. Like it is obviously good, but you already kill everything on screen in like 4 seconds, does it really make much of a difference if you kill them in 3 seconds?
>>
>>
>>
>>566655993
>Shriek suppresses everything on your screen. It shuts down an entire gunner nest for a couple seconds.
Nta, but so does the rumbler, chorus, big box, fragbomb, boom bringer, stun grenades... The list goes on really.
>>
>>
>bubble shield
I actually like to run wall shield because it works as a hard counter against mutants and poxbursters, not just ranged enemies. And since you get 2, you can always keep one charge for when you really need it.
>>
>>566656229
It does so with a fuckhuge range, and no positioning check or delay before it does the thing. You just REEE in the general direction and everything cowers. Don't underestimate a good shriek psyker using it defensively, it's actually pretty magical how nothing ever gets to shoot at you.
>>
File: 1729231177655462.png (42.3 KB)
>>566655993
>It removes shooters as a mechanic, which no good player actually needs by the time they discover dodging and sliding.
Ahah yeah, who would ever get shot to death in this day and age? Certainly not me, never, nuh huh.
>>
>>566656258
>I actually like to run wall shield
Wall shield is quite good, the biggest issue with it is the extremely buggy hit detection of a lot of effects, such as trapper nets or burgle vomit going through sometimes.
Yeah, hard countering mutants is fucking amazing and I always like having a wall psyker on the team.
>>
>>566656487
I dunno what you're trying to imply, I run gunner resist because I'm not retarded, and I know how to slide spam to almost permanently stall out several reapers at once if need be. You're kinda outing yourself as a malicelet here if you think this is unrealistic for some reason.
>>
>>
>>566655993
as a vet main i find suppression really fucking annoying. just let me click heads please. outside of that extremely selfish nitpick, there's a million other abilities/weapons that can suppress or negate large groups of enemies that are already built into other classes and are meta for those classes. like >>566656229
desu i feel like shriek is just a selfish ability. the rest of the team literally dont care and dont notice that the psyker is clearing hordes a half second faster. when you need a bubble for extra staying power in melee or holding your ground vs a shit ton of gunners/snipers/reapers/flamers/bombers/burgles and you dont have it available no one is thinking "we'll least he gets an extra few stacks of soul blaze every 30 seconds, that shit is clutch"
>>
>>566654656
>detailed customization
there will be like, at most, 3-4 options for each additional slot, one of them paid, one of the premium edition for the class, you will get to pick a series of preset metal colors, which color your oculi glow, and they will never add anything more than that afterwards
>>
>>566656765
Shriek is anything but selfish. Getting faster or more stacks on a critical mass of enemies contributes more than bubble ever will. Most of havoc is a DPS check, if everything is dead, nothing can harm you. You want to actively avoid having 40 minute missions. Even 30 is kind of long, you should be hauling ass between map threshold boss spawns. Bubble is antithetical to hauling ass.
>>
>>
>>566656979
>Getting faster or more stacks on a critical mass of enemies
On the class that already does 6 gorillion damage in 1 mission alone even without Shriek.
It is a selfish ability.
>Most of havoc is a DPS check
And psyker alone already clears that check without shriek.
You can kill bosses in like 10-15 seconds now thanks to all the power creep, with minimal set up AND without skullcrusher. I play shield arbites and I deal with bosses by bringing bolter with cavalcade and puncture. I alone delete like 1/6 of the health bar in 1 magdump.
>>
>>
>>
>>
>>566661372
>accept shriek psyker
>the psyker actually knows what he's doing
>accept bubble psyker
>he dies at least 3 completely preventable deaths
This is my average experience. Good bubble psykers obviously exist but too many of them just play the token build on the token class and get auto accepted and then carried, and they play like it.
>>
>>566661372
everyhting that applies dots in this game needs to be target capped
you can't have
>horde game where numbers are meant to be scary
and
>infinite equal damage to an infinite amount of enemies so long as they're within range
in one game. it doesn't work, it kills the horde aspect. this is why we have cleave profiles and hitmass and all these thought out ideas, but then dots just get to ignore it ontop of being some of the highest singletarget individually too?
Fatshark is quite retarded for leaving dots in the state they're in for so long and even doubling down. they need to be affected by hitmass yesterday
>>
>>
>>
>>
>>
>>
>>
>>566662952
i think its just a particular issue with the flame staff. the zealot's flamer is well balanced by its ammo cap and slow speed. the flame staff is better than the flamer and has ZERO drawbacks
they need to increase peril generation or decrease cleave on the flame staff. the rest of the psyker weapons might as well not exist on havoc
>>
>>
>>566663941
while true i think it should still be target capped, just have better cleave to make up for the ammo usage. otherwise people will just start funnelling all ammo to the flamethrower zealot while swapping to las weps and achieve functionally the same shit
stuff like the needle pistol are also riding very closely behind the flame staff
>>
>>
>>566664381
hiver having one meta weapon that is miles above everything else in both slots is definitely a problem
ogryn has access to a larger pool of reasonable choices in both slots despite having access to about 8 weapons overall. at this point is not just a balance issue its a content issue
>>
>>
>>566664381
the needle pistol wouldn't be such a problem if it weren't for all the ammo talents scum has access to
as it stands you can make a needle gun build with zero investment into ranged talents except for Pickpocket and still have an insanely powerful ranged build
>>
>>
>>
>>566671762
SoC is as good as your players are. If the entire team only ever takes health damage to major emergencies, it's incredible and can literally save lives. If your team consists of shitters who take constant poxwalker chip, it's useless because they keep putting it on cooldown at random.
Bring it to h40, consider skipping it in auric.

sounds like you havent been to the forums it's full of dogshit players screeching that the game is fine and everything needs to be buffed and that the game should just spawn more enemies to compensate (the sound engine can't handle them as is but they ignore it if you point this out)
there are literally people there who categorically deny that anyhting is overpowered and argue that h40 is meant for every single player to beat otherwise it would be a waste of dev time (the last part is the grain of truth)

Pretty much.
>>
>>566663941
>the rest of the psyker weapons might as well not exist on havoc
This is wrong, Voidblast and EK staff are extremely havoc viable, and quite competitive with the inferno staff thanks to shriek. it's not merely the inferno staff that's at fault, the problem is infinite cleave dots. It simply outscales all other damage options into highly increased density like you have on havoc. Shriek, PC, and Warp Siphon are the big things that actually need major adjustments.

Block push into attack, helps to have high attack speed so you can catch them before they exit stagger, alternate between the push attacks and light attacks to pick them off one by one. Biggest thing is putting yourself between the ragers and any other team members so they can do their part uninterrupted.
>>
>>
>>566707846
You need pretty high Impact to do it, if you don't have it, you're better off dodging back out of reach or tanking the attacks with a block until the combo ends and you have an opening to stagger lock them with push attacks.
>>
>>
>>
>>566678402
VT2 also had lots of weird niche challenges like "kill 25 enemies by dropping a cannonball on their heads" or "find all the hidden bottles of vintage wine" for people who still wanted some kind of achievements to work for. They didn't give you any fancy rewards, but even just something like getting a picture frame for completing all the challenges in a specific level was still a nice bonus. Darktide has what, a handful of penances like that for the entire game?
>>
>>
>>
>>566706075
dodge backwards once or twice and they will enter their long attack animations that will completely miss. Use this opening to land big staggering attacks. Also if you have ammo to spare just blast them.
>>
>>566708502
>Is there a list of weapons than can do it?
It depends. Stagger is decided by the Impact stat, and Impact is affected by the Strength stat. Different weapons have different starting points, but then your build and current buffs also affect it. Blessings also play a role here.
Blunt weapons usually start off with higher impact stats. If you feel like the weapon struggles to stagger, look for strength and impact blessings/talents and see if it helps.

It's basically due to the game's development legacy.
Same thing about not being able to switch character while in a lobby. It is the way it is because this is how the backend is designed, and the backend was designed for a different Darktide game that had more story and roleplay elements.

Every unit has an arbitrary ticket cost.
Let's say the director has a pool of 60 tickets to spend
Crushers are 10 tickets each, it spawns 5 and then fills the rest with trappers.
Let's say it can only spawn 2 crushers now because the devs said so
That's 40 tickets worth of trappers now coming for your ass.
>>
>>566715968
Nta but I think I'm pretty sure he means the following. Imagine you are allowed to field 1000 units worth of elite stuff on map at any point. Crushers are 50 a pop. So you used to have like 10 crushers and the remaining 500 points would go into ragers etc. Now that crushers show up less (only 5 instead of 10) you now have an extra 250 points worth of shit to spend your points on. So now we get more trappers, more pox bombers and more aids. I'm suprised nobody picked up on this potentially being an issue.

>>566694761
What are they even complaining about? Placebo? Their still-top-tier-btw weapon now asking you to light attack a crusher twice before stabbing it in the face? Actually getting a buff in terms of team-wide boss DPS?
Why knife nerfs? The thing is good but do these sub-humans actually think it's top-tier meta or something? It's good, but it always plays second fiddle to some class exclusive weapon by a pretty big margin.

I don't think they considered it an issue at all, even knowing about it. They must assume the playerbase would just adapt and actually shoot specials now that they don't have to worry about CRUSHERS, but the average player is a shit.
>>
>>566716749
It has behaved in a similar way before, where it would sometimes spawn 4+ trappers at the same time, with 6+ trappers on the same screen at any one time. It was just much less likely to happen unless you were specifically on a low armor high density seed. Now it seems to happen regularly enough that I had two of those occurrences just yesterday.
I can't really complain, crusher spam is a boring DPS check, having actual enemy variety come from different angles is more entertaining.
The weirdest thing that happened was when I went REALLY fast through the level with a buddy, and the pubbies mysteriously kept up. We spent an entire stretch of 3 large rooms encountering not a single enemy because we just kept sprinting through the level and leaving most of the ranged fodder alive. This presumably filled the ticket count in an already low density ranged-heavy seed and the director just ran out of budget to spawn shit. I've only seen this happen while going fast in havoc before. First time I've seen it in auric now.

It theoretically is ridiculously overpowered anyway because smite naturally wants scrier's, which naturally builds into both greatsword and leftclick staff, which is 2-3 great builds in one, assuming you respect smite as actually good, if boring.

The main issue with smite is that it's basically "here's a puse button for the game and the psyker can realistically spam it infinetly."
I think it'd been more interesting and fun as an ability if Smite, instead of being Palpatine LARP, actually allowed you to Smite people.
Like imagine a fuck huge lightning bolt made from warp energy from the sky that works like the ogryn nuke and it electrofies the ground in a 10m radius for 10 seconds.
That'd be fucking fun.
>>
>>
>>566725140
Finesse, crit, weakspot damage, Malefic Momentum, Disrupt Destiny, building around being able to keep Scrier's Gaze active rather than immediately overloading on purpose, Disrupt Destiny
The difference between just taking it, and building around it, is how quickly you eradicate bosses, and whether you qualify for one-shots on crushers (I think the push attack can do it with buffs up?)
>>
>>
>>566725602
Sure, and smite doesn't need a build beyond taking 3 points EP. Not taking ED is a damage loss but it won't ruin your build. At that point it's just a generic sword/staff scrier's build that just happens to take EP smite. It's good.
>>
>>
>>
>>566726187
It's still good with BB, you just need to also take every node of warp damage that you can, including the +10% ranged damage in the bottom left. Bonus points for double wall to supercharge Kinetic Resonance.
You can pop an entire gangrape of ragers within a second or two thanks to EP. Fully juiced + blue stimm, you even start melting bosses, it's pretty funny.
>>
>>
>>566711042
>>566711535
You shouldn't have to spend the extra time and materials on something you've already done no matter how negligible you may believe it is. There's no reason to force the player to go through the tedious process of finding a weapon with a good stat distribution and upgrading it to 500 for a second, third, or fourth time. It's not like it serves the gameplay purpose that levelling another class does, where getting drip-fed talent points forces you to gradually learn what the class is capable of in a way that feels organic and doesn't cost anything but time. Having to upgrade an identical weapon all over again on another character only acts as an arbitrary barrier to playing the game how you want to play it, and that's on top of the fact that the class will have unique equipment that you've never used before that will also need to be upgraded.
>>566712294 is probably right in that the way the game is structured under the hood makes something like a Diablo-styled shared stash impossible, or at the very least it'd take far too much effort for such a relatively minor feature when most players are used to the way the game works now anyway.

I understand it's a smigger build, and that's the problem, you have nothing except smigging, you're worthless when you can't smig because you're facing gunners beyond smigging range, or a pack of ragers rushing you down before you can smig all over them. A good smigger build (heh) sacrifices some smigging for melee or ranged capacity to recover toughness when suffering chip damage or just protecting yourself in general. If I really wanted to shit on you for making an unironic smigger build, I would have just posted DECLINED.

So... The game is dead huh? What do you think went wrong with KF3? I for one, I just noticed it's DoA when I saw the trailers. Their reaction to criticism, staff talking from an upper tone on the forums as if they're superior, just sealed the envelope for me. I have never seen a team of developers that is willingly deaf to criticism.
The state of their moderation team trying to gaslight people and banning anyone who talk bad about the game is a reminiscence that their mentality never went away.
I'm happy that I didn't spend any dime and my time on it. What's your dead giveaways or experience with the game?
>>
>>566732270
Yes unironically to the greentext.
AIDS puddles never become a problem if you kill fast enough and remember to bring 1-2 health curios with corruption resist on the squishy classes, and if they annoy you, you bring a purity zealot. That is the only concession you have to make. In return, you get runs with effectively -1 modifier.
I barely notice the puddles anymore because I'm not fucking retarded and actually bring builds that work around the modifier.

Cranial Parasite and moebians are fun.
Rituals can be fun too, but half the fucking time they are bugged depending on the map and the sweggers refuse to fix them even after months since their introduction.
I remember playing an Excise Vault with Rituald and for some god forsaken reason the game thougth it'd be funny to spawn 4 rituals back to back and 3 of them were in the same fucking room, which then spawned a captain, twins and then 2 monstrosities when we got near the rituals.

To force pacing, wise ammo use, target priority, and team coordination, as well as to make sure people actually engage with melee combat despite it being more dangerous to melee in havoc due density and player durability changes. Unfortunately, pysker exists. Thankfully you can decline all psykers from your party finder.

Cranial has unstaggerable reapers and constantly flinging your teammates around and causing jank deaths and bad situations on no fault of their own. Not fun. We already agreed on moebians being fun. >>
>>
>>566750071
Outside of the screamer in WWZ I still think its special infected lineup is fine. Most are just reskins of L4D infected. And the main threat in WWZ is the horde, not the specials. The specials are there to disrupt you more so the horde can kill you, unlike in L4D where the specials are the main threat.
>>566750259

WWZ special lineup is more than fine, in fact most of WWZ is more than fine, it's one of the best designed horde shooters ever imo, even with all the little flaws it has. Fucking love this game.

I don't get these people. If there's an ogryn on the team taunting all the melee enemies you don't need to pull out your shitty power falchion to go tickle the heretics. Is this, like, fun for them?More realistically though, this seems like another Fatshark moment. They had the good sense to make an event where just about every melee enemy is an armored elite right before a new patch where they severely cut both the HP and spawn rate of crushers to allow way more specialists to spawn. So I think a lot of people are still using anti-elite builds, when they should be using anti-specialist builds, and are probably still in the mindset that mixed hordes are a priority target because CRUSHERS COULD BE THERE. Bravo Fatshark, you really outdid yourself this time. I bet the playerbase is really enjoying this hoodwink.

Get used to it, auric consists of a pretty ugly spread of people who just barely scrape by, and shitters who drag the team down and make scraping by impossible.
I suggest you figure out a build that can deal with every problem, letting you solo most things. Fast monster killing is pretty important when you're effectively solo carrying.
>what's the best mission type to farm plague ogres/ chaos spawns/beast of nurgles?
For what purpose? Dark Communion spawns one guaranteed about halfway through. If you just need monstrosity kills for Melk, assassination missions count, so Rolling Steel counts. You can reliably get <6 minutes in uprising Rolling Steel with an optimized build. I think <5 is possible with two players.

This is the thing I always struggle with. I can take out most elites but a lot of the mini-bosses take me a while to whittle down. I guess I'll just have to spam practice until I get good enough to not rely on spergs. Also fuck me, teammates will not kill snipers even if you ping them. You'll be taking on the crushers and maulers and these guys will just be jerking off.

>I can take out most elites but a lot of the mini-bosses take me a while to whittle down. I guess I'll just have to spam practice until I get good enough to not rely on spergs.
Getting good at fighting the specific monstrosities and captain weapon movesets definitely helps a lot, especially with beast of nurgle because you can kinda just style on it with good enough strafing + blocking.
However, most of this is a build check, and usually the reason I would advise you only level 1 weapon at a time if you want to easily carry. If you have 2 unleveled weapons, your chances of not being able to handle everything drastically increase.
In general, I'd suggest you have at least one thing that happens to work really well, or at least well enough, against monsters. WHAT this is depends on your class, but even a bolt pistol (Puncture) or las pistol (Infernus Dumdum) that most classes have access to, will be enough.

Just play havoc 40 like normal but make sure to pick optimal lineups and aggressively decline anything that seems retarded to you. You'll get it eventually, assuming you're good enough.
Could go the middle ground and just say outright you're going for TS and take it a little slower, but you ideally want an easy map with easy mods and then crawl your way forward between bubbles and smokes.
Could do a premade, but I have no idea if any such community exists and doesn't suck.
Realistically, if everyone in the group is trying to get True Survivor, you can probably do each other's assignments based on whomever has the easiest one. Most of it is decided before you even hit play. The last little bit is not fucking up for 30 minutes.

you can grab the 100% modded save on Nexus, (make a backup of your save) replace the files in your save folder with the 100% files, set your save folder to read-only, disable steam cloud, and launch the game. Go ahead and equip those weapons and then close the game, uncheck read-only on your save folder and the next time you launch the game you should have all of those weapons still unlocked and nothing else changed. I haven't had any issues playing online or using them
>>
>>
>>566811079
Not at all. Many skitarii still refer to themselves as he or she despite how they look.
There is a scene in 1 book where a guardsman is flirting with a female skitarii. But she is confused as to why since she knows she looks awful, ugly and malnourished under all her armor.

I'll be honest, DRG minus the mining part doesn't sound fun at all. Like, in the slightest, the gunplay definitely wasn't DRG strongest side.
Plus these female dwarves are extremely ugly and repulsive even by female dwarf standards.
Plus gender-locked classes.
Plus it's just another roguelite shooter, we already have plenty, they'd have to compete with RoR2 and Gunfire and Roboquest and FFW and Abyssus and whatsoever.
>>
>>566846524
I think so. Character designs are a bit weak, but gameplay wise it looks like a more focused refinement to funnel general players through a map better.
I expect it to lose some of the core DRG audience who got hooked on the niche of a slightly freeform mining adventure. They're moving from that specific niche where they had no competition to one with more competition.

I run shred and headtaker with it. The extra cleave from brutal momentum matters little with the tac axe since it's so fast it'll clear hordes quickly anyway. And since it's already got such fast attack speed you won't benefit that much from adrenaline frenzy. Extra critical chance from chem dependency is a lot more useful since it's a high finesse weapon. If you're critmaxxing you could be looking at
>10%(scum base crit chance)
>12%(crit bonus stat at 80%)
>5%(weapon perk)
>5%(anarchist aura)
>5%(passive node in bottom left of tree)
>20%(4 stacks of chem dependency)
>15%(stimm)
for a whopping 72% melee crit chance. You'll want to take sweet spot for extra weakspot damage and hypercritical for better crits, and since you're pathing into chem dependency anyway you could take coated weaponry for putting tox stacks on enemies with melee crits, which isn't great in itself but synergizes with a bunch of other talents like sample collector and toxic renewal. Combat ability can be whatever you like, the tac axe does well enough even without rampage.

Why do people act like CSM dont job to guardsmen in the lore all the time, they're not on some different level compared to beasts of nurgle, chaos spawn and all the other shit we're constantly fighting. The whole power scale argument is dumb
>>
>>
>>
>>566870586
yeah as long as you don't get turned to dust the moment you peek out from cover, which would be the realistic outcome (or death by disease) except there's nothing realistic about darktide anyway so who cares..
>>
>>566868481
If they're gonna put marines in, they need to throw in a ceramite armor type that most weapons just plink against, but then we have CRUSHERS situation again if they're Elite spawns. It wouldn't shock me if they threw in Black Legion marines into the boss line up as a step above captains.
>killing space marines with shivs
Based. Fuck fluff faggots. Only the crunch matters, and tabletop marines aren't as strong as fluff would suggest.
>>
>>566871331
Yes being in the vicinity of a beast of nurgle without serious protective gear would probably just melt you to a puddle, let alone getting vored by one. That's the point I'm making, we're already dealing with things that should realistically be way above our paygrade even as a cut above the rest soldiers. So a CSM wouldn't really be all that different
>>
>>566870586
It's basically because of the insane logic nightmare that comes from Games Workshop saying that most chaos marines are 10,000 year old veterans.
That alone implies that they're practically Invincible ®. Yet, they're always portrayed as being blown the fuck out in droves by Eldar, Tau, loyalist marines, etc. So what the fuck is going on? Are there just infinite chaos marines? Are they endlessly respawning in the Eye of Terror? The latter might make sense.
The answer really is just that GW's writers have no sense of scale and you shouldn't t think about it
>>
>>566871135
>entire guard platoon against a single world eater
>old man sorrow survived by the skin of his teeth
that actually works because it both makes the chaos marine seem menacing as fuck and Morrow seem like an absolute unit
>>
>>
>>566871331

>>
>>566871546
Killing a traitor marine doesn't necessarily mean that marine is dead dead. Resurrection isn't unheard of when it comes to named chaos champions and the like, for your average mooks though, they do recruitment, they steal geneseed, sorcerers bind daemons to space marine corpses. The logistics is all "off screen" so we don't have to care about it and can just make the funny little plastic men fight.
>>
>>
>>
>>566871546
Chaos warbands do suffer a lot from attrition and logistics issues however, that's why most of them are in small warbands if they are not in an organized legion like the Black Legion, Iron Warriors or Word Bearers.
The gods can respawn CSM they deem worthy/funny enough to see them job again, otherwise CSM can try bargaining with daemons or other Chaos champions using their souls for a second chance.

We have a priest and a psyker in our party(assuming a line-up of the 4 original classes). Fluff-wise, that opens up a whole can of worms about being resistant to chaos and whatnot.

I mean, yeah, gameplay isn't always gonna be an exact matchup with lore. 4 niggas in a row probably can't canonically cleave their way through 1928398123 nurgulite rapebeasts.
Not to mention the fact that we're all immune to catching any kind of disease from the forces of the god of plague and disease
>>
>>566875323
I mean there's also a Magos Biologis aboard the Mourningstar, who can apparently craft antidotes to the ever-shifting plagues of Nurgle basically on the spot as long as he has a few samples of the current strain. That's what the Hab Dreyko mission is all about.

>>
>>566877038
The real contention should be why plague marines are even there in the first place. As soon as you involve chaos marines in your conflict, it escalates the scale of it to something far beyond the cult uprising that we're supposedly dealing with.

>Why are you conveniently ignoring that khornate berzerkers get blessings from khorne?
Because they really don't.
Your average chaos marine faggot is just a corrupted space marine who thinks killing people is fun.
Berzerkers are no different. Only thing they have to make them "special" is having bunch of fucking rusty nails in their skull which is the reason why they are all perpetually angry to the point of actual mental retardation.
And regardless, being angry doesn't save you or YOUR ARMOR when you're being blasted down by a BIG concentration of mass of las fire. Nevermind that this is a guard platoon that'd also have access to heavy weapons, like autocannons, heavy bolters or even lascannons.
What Morrow and his platoon did, is not impressive.
Even fucking orks with their guns made from welded pieces of scrap metal would be able to pull this shit off.

They don't have to be, Chaos Marines sometimes show up because the cult leaders contacted them, and they usually end up usurping the cult leaders or going against them for their own agendas. The Siege of Vraks was mostly instigated by corrupted clergymen until they called in CSM warbands for reinforcements.

but they are more uniformly impressive than chaos beasts because of their very nature. this is my point. BoNs and other Chaos creatures have their power wax and wane due to any number of factors. CSMs can also gain power boosts and what not depending on a number of circumstances but the fact they’re still grounded in the materium means that they operate on a more consistent baseline. and that baseline tends to be tough shit.

>>566885919

CSMs are very impressive and our guys can wipe the floor with them. Just not at trust level 1.
>>
>>
>>566881893
Daemonhosts aren’t really the same and ‘daemons’ run a pretty large gamut, but yes large scale rebellion like this is already beyond what most chaos cults achieve.
>>566880743
>>566882561
CSMs definitely do gain all kinds of boons from their respective patrons. Khornate Berzerkers and all Khorne aligned units tend to share a resistance if not outright immunity to sorcery and what not for example. Plague Marines are endowed with the inability to really feel pain and can survive wounds that would kill even normal space marines.

as do shock mauls that are available to most classes
the MK3 arbites shotgun has electrocution rounds as its special
and arbites can also apply electrocution with the cyber-hound

It's like a terminal illness of live-service games. For some reason you are just not allowed to make simple character after release, each character has to be more pants on head retarded than the previous ones.

Back from a darktide break, seen the changes to uncanny. I would run the knife on my zealot and vet, do the changes completely fuck them or are they more "they're fine" now? I preferred force sword on psyker anyway for deflector (especially on flame staff to close distance safer while dodge sliding towards groups of gunners) so that shouldn't be too bad.

For shoving guys, psychic shriek and the bridges during the final defense on Silo Cluster 18-66/a, or at least I think it's that map. Just tell your party that it's something you want to do and ask if they'll ignore a side for you to block and shove guys until you can blast them off. For the monstrosity kill, party finder in game, discord, or asking in the morningstar chat and see what happens since it has to be on private. Suicide blast, you can just luck into on damnation or higher especially with the high-intensity modifier. Shame you missed the last event because it would have been easy to do then.

You kid, but if every class doesn't have the exact same nodes with the exact same bonuses and one class has 2% more damage then people catastrophize that every other class sucks and everything is ruined for the history of forever.

i'm disappointed over Rogue Core having female dwarves in it, i always thought it was cool that Deep Rock Galactic dared to be a game that only had males. it's silly but it feels like a betrayal. they stop adding content to DRG and then we get female dwarves?
>>
>>566905648
Honestly Fatshark should've been smarter than this and NOT put damage on the tree outside of things like the ogryn charge damageup, stuff that has a mechanic and potentially a lot of damage but is VERY temporary
Instead they opted to put borderline fully passive +15% damage nodes all over the trees which completely rapes how the weapons were designed and cause this world of warcraft balance dynamic and it sucks
>>
>>566905868
female dwarves is fine, good even, if not for the fact that they're not
>short stacks
>cute
>featuring just the littlest, trace amount of mutton chops
oh well, every lobby is just going to be 4x of the most powerful class anyway so we'll see what gender that is, and then what gender it rotates to as the powercreep paid classes start rolling in

Would have made balancing so much easier, less interactions to manage to fuck up. It makes things like crusher feel bad to use, everything else kills so much faster that the dead enemies make for better crowd control than crushers knockback.

this shit sounds busted if the melee shock weapons are good, because if youre using a shock weapon, it will be up forever in combat and will only ever go when theres a lull and those are rare, and the debuff is irrelevant, taking 10% more toughness damage is not going to affect you that much because you get so much in combat and 5% less movement is hardly noticeable

i just think it was unnecessary, nobody that played Deep Rock Galactic asked for a female option.
even team fortress 2 had a female with the announcer, DRG even had a male announcer. why throw that uniqueness away, especially when the females they added are very ugly like you pointed out. so won't be any free marketing from artists.

I was able to, as a single arbeit, indefinitely keep a dozen ragers at bay and stunlocked at any given time while being completely immune to chip damage, and that was without BTL or the flashbang AND still being able to kill Crushers fast. It's the strongest melee next to force psyker.

Arbites get a lot of crutches so it's probably the first class that you have been able to play without dying all the time, but if you have any skill at all then you can easily massively outperform the arbites as a psyker or hive scum. It's not even close
