Willy is a bullied kid who the other kids make fun of, everyone but his sister. They have a lil dog together. Lunasia dies, Willys dad cuts her body into pieces and Willy gets mindbroken and starts hallucinating her because of this trauma. Willy steals a part of her brain, flees into the woods while pursued by his fathers men, finds a random huntress living in the woods and basically murders her and turns her into the first Nyto. Back during current events, M16 rips off Willys arm, Willy and Commander meetup in a hotel, decide yep we still hate each other. Willy arrives back at his mansion (mindcontrolled?) Mona attacks him, the dog he used to have (which he turned into some kind Nytodog) + Grig intercept her and save him. Commander gets attacked by another Nyto back at the hotel but DEFY intercepts her and save him.

William takes this as SKK fucking with him, and leaves, with both of them immediately ordering a hit on each other. SKK is attacked by reborn Machlian, who is killed by DEFY; he refuses to believe she's the real deal. Mona gets hacked by DEFY and tries to kill William, but only manages to kill his dog, the last remaining vestige of his humanity. It's time for the final showdown. I hope that makes sense.

Instead of blasting William, Lunasia takes you aside, and explains how this was never going to play out in the way you want, and the only victory you can have in this world is a personal one. Then there were two more short events filling gaps, from Kalina's perspective as she tries to figure out what the fuck even happened in Frankfurt, and from William's perspective.
Quantum Fluctuation, the event that started today, is the real finale. It's possible that some postgame stuff would be added at some point, since the game will remain on Steam, but nothing has been released on CN or KR, so it doesn't seem likely.

In the place they are led, they encounter heavy resistance by generic Dolls, with Kalina alone making it to SKK, after which the place is stormed by URNC soldiers. Turns out this was a ploy by Havier, using Kalina to find where SKK is hiding, and he is brought into URNC custody. After Kalina is left there feeling like she's a horrible fuckup, URNC tries to get rid of her, but 404 shows up and saves her, telling her that the battle for Frankfurt is far from over.

>>566748120 This game's pacing is weird, man. Longitudinal Strain has all its exposition in the 60 nodes with no fights you only unlock after actually beating the event. Slowshock is blatantly two different medium events glued together to create a megaevent. The final event gauntlet makes some degree of sense as individual short events with CK being a little longer, it is actually a series of individual stories that add up to the finale. These three final events really do feel like they should just be the same event, though.
What really gets me though that each of these short events gets an individual sick musical main theme, it's something Mica has been really awesome about, presentation, building mood. And the QF's main menu just has the CK menu music playing. It's maybe the best theme of them, but I can't unhear it, I can't unrealize that nobody wanted to put any more resources into gfl1 at that point.
