Right because the ABMM is so agressive. Now we know that 30% of the player base are pure PvE. Imagine your puzzle rooms with no ABMM. Thered be people betraying in every single solo lobby because there is no ABMM to filter out the rats. The rats cause more mistrust in solo lobbies, the puzzles effectively become impossible because not only do you have to dodge your partner who opens the door but also the entire KoS map. Remember the goal wasn't about creating TDM maps after pressing E to open a loot room, it was about trying to create true mixed lobbies. Lobbies devolve to TDM and rat central, solo is only for those skilled enough to wipe the entire lobby, trios becomes the only real way to make progress for the majority of players. No true mixed lobbies, ABMM is still supreme.

They're being intentionally vague about what "Regular Live Updates" entails without giving a proper roadmap.

Arc was putting out new map events, multiple new arcs, multiple new gadgets, mutliple new guns, a new map at the end of it too, just lots of meaningful gameplay content. Not to mention Close Scrutiny as a raidtype was really fun for people to learn and do trials in- cool that it changed the loot tables too.
They felt pretty meaty to me, and they were coming so frequently between some excellent balance patches that really fixed the gun sandbox etc.
Ofc there was also projects to do as well, which are minor, but fun to chase for rewards. The trader MIGHT be good, but if that's really it in the way of gameplay content for........... 6 whole months... that's too long a wait, even if the wait is worth it in the end.
I consider gameplay content to be new systems (including the trader), but mainly also new sandbox elements like gadgets, map events, arcs, guns, interactables, etc. Doesn't seem like we'll be getting any of that.

Yeah, I was discussing this with a buddy. I did all three expeditions so far. Off the top of my head, that leaves me with:

I don't know if the buffs could still go up, but that'd be +20% EXP, +24% Scrappy, and 90% or so if the trend continued. Yet, from that HUGE gap, I'd lose it all down to 0% boosts on all of that. Unless you intentionally grind routes like a nerd, few people will finish the expedition shit early. Especially because leveling your character and raider den are more fun and important for each season. They already admitted few people do the expeditions; giving permanent boosts would give more of a lasting reason to do it.

it takes you ~20.5+ seconds (via green chargers) to gain only ~34 EHP on a medium shield against automatic weapons whereas EHP is gained at twice the rate via the same rarity of bandages, which is why every single competent PvPer tells you to "always heal HP first".
shields do provide superior protection against low-rof-high-damage weapons, but the main problem is the breakpoints improve only on medium shield comparative to lights (excluding renegade vs heavies which gives a +1, which also used to include toro before the nerf)
generally PvP TTK is too low, especially for solos where ambushing is the entire fight, there aren't any "combat encounters" in that mode per se, which is why it's better to buff all shields than just heavies.
sometimes this is true even in trios where the enemies can combine fire to turn you into mist in less than a third of a second, but at the very least you have allies to offset that, solos don't have that luxury

To comment on your discussion, I don't think it's just armor or missing shots. I think the fastest I've killed the fireflies in the yellow canister is with three clean anvil shots directly into it from up front at a modest distance while crouched and not on fire. They really just make them require that much damage, even with higher armor penetration weapons. As they fly at you faster than you can run, the only vaguely reliable way I think lighter-kitted players can deal with them is to shoot their rear rotors out from below (as the sides still have the armor). That's challenging, since it isn't really something you can do practically if they are already aggroed on you.

If you get like 3 wasps/hornets/fireflies on you in Chungartha, you can very easily kill them or escape them in a million different ways. You can even turn off your brain and just stand still shooting them from cover. It's like playing in slow motion. You do not have to spend a single brain cell worrying about getting 3rd partied or making noise.
In hardcore niggermode PvP raids, you usually can't spend a single second thinking about the ARC you've attracted. Sometimes if you even start fighting back against the ARC you've sealed your death sentence. When you hear ARC on you, you instantly start inventing a million scenarios in your head about how the 3rd party nigger is going to kill you, from what angle, where is he hiding, how much noise am I making, etc.

are you aiming into the fucking air? you can oneshot it if you hit the top of the canister, which clips both back engines and nukes the whole thing
also shooting center mass takes 2-3, depending on placement

I think it actually matters which two rotors you take out.
I was hunting the things with the Osprey for the trial, and if I shot out both rear rotors it would fall out of the sky and explode, but the one time I shot out the front rotor and the rear rotor on the opposite side it was able to wobble along and close the distance to me. Fucking physics I guess. It's too unbalanced with both rear rotors blown out but if it has a front and rear rotor on opposite sides it can keep its shit together barely and survive to fuck you up.
Still better than the comet though.
