my harold egglock variant is 91% win rate in low legend. i'm 49-4 with it. no i wont link deck code and no i wont say the difference between the embarassing netdeck one floating around and yes it has wallow the wretched of course because "the community" deemed it a dead card when it is far from.
>>566673407 This are looking pretty grim but lets be positive fellow Hearthstone players!!! Meta can be horrible, devs can be shit at balance and we can be done for until violet hold... BUT Blizzcon is coming, the moment when Monk will be announced and all the bad things will be forgotten!!! Panda time is coming and will be GREAT!!!
>>566677387 priest isn't allowed to do anything besides infinite value controlslop sorry bro overheal? shadow? buffs? self-silence? nah that's all lame bwo
>>566687443 nta but yeah, all the changes people are making to deal with Rogue and DH get dicked by Token Druid (and to a lesser extent Shaman but that's a highroll deck).
>>566687443 I wouldn't say random. The deck has been picking up steam for a while now as the kinks have been getting worked out. It just hit critical mass.
Since we're talking about token druid, don't forget that you can use panther mask on the opponent's creatures. I've managed to score a win or two by panther masking away the taunt that was blocking lethal.
>>566677620 >overheal? relies on the existence of an healthy board-based meta We never had that in the history of HS.
>buffs? Same as above.
>self-silence? That one is actually lame. Giving a class the ability to turn a penalties into boons is a recipe for disaster. Just look at the warlock's questline fiasco.
I love using shadowflame as lethal on niggers and then roping them by not selecting a minion. And then they explode just as the rope burns out. Beautiful.
>>566723454 >modern warrior is so cringe that their 2 mana game changer card is now just being used as raw 2 damage Dragon warrior has been a genuine blight for way too long

>finally out of bronze >4 star bonus >still facing a million hunters with the scarab legend cardback why can't i face anyone that is as shitty as i am. i dont understand how mmr works i've never been anywhere near legend and that's all i ever face.
>>566738892 but i should have a terrible mmr. i'm something like 4 and 50 for this week alone. i barely got out of bronze today and i've been trying since this entire month.
>be hsg >be bad at the game >"wah everything is broken" >"wah the united states government in collaboration with mossad and the kgb are plotting to keep my card-sllinging, rough diamond, genius down by injecting malicious code on my local file installation and rugpulling my draws in real time" hsg have you ever considered that you might, just might, not have been as bright as you think you were at school? hsg, no one is keeping you out of legend/in low legend. you just belong there
once you accept this reality, your life will become much better. its not the boomers, its not the economy, its not women, its your excuses holding you back in everything you do in life
>>566738892 Sure the Legend Cardback doesn't actually mean they're good but a Legend (or a diamond, but nobody is proud of reaching diamond) is probably better player than some new cutie
>>566739528 i am 100% convinced that forced rig mechanics are a thing because whenever i put money in the game i would hit legend within a week or two no matter what i played
>>566737864 >what did i do to deserve this apparently nothing to pressure the hunter the 9 previous turns so that they would never play their 5 mana do nothing cards and eventually win out the late game
companion hunter is a tier 5 deck, standing at 40% winrate in high legend
its ok though, youre new and currently learning, dont worry too much about it, focus on improving and dont care about rank until you hit top 1k legend and actually know a thing or two about what youre doing
>>566739657 not really though, each "mmr tier" has the full ranks worth of players due to rank floors with legend only being someone performing slightly better or having slightly more luck. it's basically a guarantee you'll hit legend if you play enough in a given month regardless of skill level. and there are a lot more bad players than good players
>>566740293 my post wasnt aimed at you. but to answer your question, you actually do face people as bad as you. legend cardback is irrelevant, their winrate is as ateocious as yours. toughen up and get better, you got it king
>>566741010 that would make no sense considering youve got the "gaby"s and "pockettrain"s of the world who time and time again, season after season place in super high legend and make knockout stages in tournaments, sometimes even starting from abyssmally low seeding (something like round of 64) all the way to the finals. are you proposing the existence of CoraVerified™ accounts given out to pro players just to keep the facade going?
unrelated but when is the statsjew gonna release the new report, its been so long
>jar OTK DH(literally 20%wr deck) >wins against leyline nigga just playing fel spells HAHAHAHAAHAHAHAAHAHAHA NICE forced archetype bros.... A FUCKING SLOWEST DH deck ever made dabs on new Cora creation
>>566741984 pros are all paypigs so they have the favoured rig add to that the fact that they play 50 matches a day and that's how they always get there
>>566741984 As you get into high ranks finding someone of a similar rank becomes more restrictive (trying to find someone within 100 of you instead of 1000 for example) and this adds matchmaking time. The algorithmic layer that's trying to force a winning or losing matchup often gets sidelined in order to find someone within an acceptable time frame.
I should clarify that I don't think there's a mid-match algorithm, so there's no real way to rig a tournament outside of seeding, and tournament seeding is all about separating the top performers so they meet in the finals.
>>566739528 I am consistently top 200, there are engagement mechanisms. It's why burgle rogue and other discover mechanics get pushed so hard. An engaging match is one with a lot of back and forth and the game isn't good at determining how to impact board states without random generation mechanics so they pump it into every set while making it stronger and stronger. It becomes really obvious when you play certain decks or play against certain decks for a while.
>>566753571 burgle and discover are just fun mechanics that reward skill expression because of the decision making involved. theyre also super popular. i doubt they need a push of any sort by the devs. people would play those even when they didnt win at all
>It becomes really obvious when you play certain decks or play against certain decks for a while what statistical sample are we talking about? do you play thousands of games every day? your 10 matches per day are irrelevant from a mathematical standpoint, even if they were all against your biggest counter deck. its just way too small of a sample to matter
also if they had the ability to mess around with the queue like that, why wouldnt they give the new archetypes they just released a bit of help and instead have them fail on release and expose them as bad developers? why wouldnt they reward their loyal "paypigs" with shiny new toys that win a lot?
Game is just randomly crashing now and you can't reconnect, just another wonderful hotpatch from the garbage company blizzard, looking forward to the end of service announcement later this year

>>566870927 >I am a top legend f2p, the algo is real. And I am top legend f2p, the algo isn't real.
See how you made absolutely no argument at all other than mentioning your rank? Do you think im talking outta my ass when i say that you guys are delusional? I have been consistently in the vicinity of top 200 - top 100 for about five years now, across multiple smurf accounts, all completely f2p. So how do I do it so consistently? Is Blizzard geolocating me across different accounts and IPs?
Please offer 1 convincing argument that explains the consistency of my performance and for the love of god, dont say i play all day because I genuinely dont. I mostly play during the weekends and as you can see I have played less than 50 games this season with an average game time of ~5 minutes because i play aggro which makes it around 4-5 hours total for all of them. Im waiting...
>>566880492 The engagement optimization algorithm can only set someone up for a win or loss, it can't force the outcome. This leaves room for skill expression.
Why are you so tilted by strangers thinking that hearthstone utilizes EOMM?
>>566882440 >The engagement optimization algorithm can only set someone up for a win or loss, it can't force the outcome. do you know what else can set someone up for a win or loss? variance, which is inherent in card games. it is statistically entirely possibly to brick your hand by drawing all your highest cost cards every turn and then have 0 plays by turn 5. how can you prove that it was the "ALGO" and not just plain variance? thats right, you cant >Why are you so tilted by strangers thinking that hearthstone utilizes EOMM? i have no clue. i wish this thread was a place where we could discuss strategies/stats and post fun moments in our games. instead its being shit on by the same couple of retards: balance crybabies and algo mouthbreathers
i also hate reddit and discord trannies with a passion so I cant even go there instead so i have to suffer here. fml
5th time in a row that a priest randomly generates the exact needed answer every turn to help xir survive and otk this time it was 3 flash heals early, 2 kaldorei, for all time, alextrasza and story of amara
Algo not magical wand... sometimes opponent makes stupid mistakes.... even algo cant save him(sometimes you even see it) Thats why you sometime break 50% forced wr Example : opponent miscalculated lethal pick wrong discovers(algo already picked best for you) or just afk dced
>>566883869 Oh yeah, I also think the mid-game stuff is better explained by cognitive bias since mid-match rigging would require rather substantial computational resources. I do however believe that it's rather simple to account for the matchups of established archetypes and match players together in a way that promotes desired outcomes. The research on EOMM is fairly well established and the fact that hearthstone is a 1v1 game simplifies things so I can't really think of a reason why Blizzard wouldn't use EOMM.
I do try to make posts here when I notice interesting card interactions. I've also been considering posting replays in order to get opinions on where I've misplayed, but I don't know if I want my battletag in the thread. It truly is unfortunate that this shitty place is the least shitty place.
>>566886008 i will not play your 25% wr homebrew. it does not make you a good player or cool. you are actively handicapping yourself and i dont know where you find the enjoyment in that. but i do however counterchallenge you to pick my exact decklist and compare your results to mine, since apparently its childs play and everyone can do it?
oh wait, i forgot. the algo will be activated and keep you in bronze despite your perfect plays, right?
>>566887268 its probably not a good idea to post your battletag here, i agree. but if you or anyone else would like someone to inspect their replays and provide feedback, id be down fr
and yeah i know eomm is a thing in other games and i know blizzard isnt a charity organization but i also know that pattern recognition is our biggest survival tool and some are too trigger happy to use it.
whats the end goal of blizzard utilizing eomm? money? i spend none. time played? barely any.
perhaps im not the target for all this? possibly. but skill expression is definitely a thing at the end of the day and thats why i keep playing, eomm or not
>>566888363 The point of EOMM is to get players to play more games per session. Increasing the time someone plays both increases one's attachment to hearthstone and leaves them with less time to potentially get hooked on something else.
>turn 3 >Druid already done quest to fill board >algo troll me with 2 damage aoe i hope this shit getting nerfed like paladin one.... THEY FUCKING NEVER LEARN
>>566892426 It might not be so bad if it was alone as the main attraction of the deck BUT instead there are now like three different Dragons whose thing is 'offers great value so long as your deck is stuffed with Dragons' and I don't trust them to not add a fourth before this rotation's end It's like what happens when you can stuff a deck with Renos
Dude whatever god fuck you fuck you fuck you I would win the game my warrior opponent ran out of cards then i had my board set up to do 18 damage and then he gets topdeck Dracorex.
Why can't I just win the videogame goddammit why does this game viciously despise me with such reckless hatred. I win if he just gets the stupidass dragon that does nothing. FUCK YOU I hate the dumbass retard programmers who give people "comebacks" for "entertainment" what is invalid about MY comeback??? I had 3 life!!!! What makes me so shitty that I have to get screwed like this? Fuck you.
>>566907706 Honestly if they got rid of the dark gift package I wouldn't mind these dragons so much, even the bullshit curve of slither into wyrm can be beaten the problem is just that the deck gets to go crazy from 1 and can instantly get a win with bullshit like discovering a double battlecry Wyrm to pyro face.
>>566907750 >the algo is rigged against me, specifically! >every one of my losses was played to perfection, its just that you cant beat the rig yes anon, im sure there was nothing you could have done to win the game. it feels so safe and cozy blaming all your misplays on an external factor, doesnt it? keep doing it! thats how you get better, by never recognizing your own mistakes but blaming it to others. you got it boss!
>>566929727 snipe him with whatever counters priest (practically everything but shaman in particular has 80% wr against priest according to hsguru) and watch him mald
Happened to me too a few game ago, too : Rogue opponent was able to trigger his "Reno, Lone ranger" battlecry, despite playing two copies of that rogue secret which make you immune to damage.
Who could have guessed using a NN to manipulate drawing could cause that kind of inconsistencies?! Not Cora apparently...
>>566945090 oh yes of course. as if streamers getting buttfucked and going on 0-10 loss streaks, like everyone else, doesnt happen all the time >t-those specific streamers dont shill for blizzard so their premium algo subscription was withdrawn god youre so fucking thick, youre a lost cause
I rape streamimh Cucks on the daily and hold a 80% win aka rape rate. Why? Because I'm a high test hyper alpha chudmale (Chad+stud) and I don't denigrate myself with faggot formats. Id say you could learn from your betters, me, but you are an omega cuck male, everything you'll ever have is my scraps and I can go over and rape them anytime I wish. Sorry castrated cuckmale, you'll forever be a hard stuck sTRANSdard shitter in game and irl.
No minion DH has to be the worst designed archetype in the game, possibly ever. Whereas no dupes, all evens, etc. are deck restrictions that encourage a lot of variety, preventing you from using all the strongest cards and giving more niche ones a spot, no minions is such an overwhelming restriction for DH it only works by running like 20 cards that only exist to support this archetype and are worthless anywhere else. Completely brainless cookie cutter decks with no variation, only existing to say “hey look to minions isn’t that novel” and nothing else.
Are there decks that you can't play because algo? For me it's herald shaman, I never draw herald cards in the first 5 turns so the deck is unplayable for me.
>>566960003 Herald shaman is like one Aggro nerf away from being the best deck in shamans history aside from terran cookie shaman. It will rise to tier 1.0 if the speedy token decks and specifically dragon warrior take any nerf. Herald shaman is early game, mid range, and late game all in one working deck. Let alone it can flex control, heal, buffs, etc.
Ive been keeping an eye on this deck and i personally dont play shaman

Losing board early game to a controlfag who plays everything perfectly on curve as token or rushdown is normal and fine and the game has never been rigged
>>566970271 >extreme statistical outlier streamer who has been maining control priest since the game's inception can make tier 5 priest deck look somewhat decent in high legend >that means the average person on /hsg/ (gold rank) can also pilot the deck with the same effectiveness, therefore the deck is not tier 5 but tier 2 hsg just never fails to have the worst takes imaginable, huh?
imagine being so unable to comprehend basic statistics and stuff like edge cases and skill brackets. no wonder you have to resort to conspiracy theories in order to cope with your inability to climb ladder
It’s actually just a circus, Blizzard doesn’t even bother feigning fair matchups, if you start winning a game the algorithm intended for you to lose they literally just block your socket to the server until you forfeit, fucking snakes at this company
