I agree.
I hear Shinitaru has lots of kemonomimi and even force them to have "rights" and make their own decisions, instead of properly taming them as humans should.
Sanko should sail over with their emerald fleet and liberate the kemonomimi from such awful "freedom".

reposting piggies 'cause i made a lorebook version to make it a little easier to plug them into your kingdom bits

Economy:
>list typical imports/exports
That'll generally do it, I think. Have a note about "this province is rich/poor" if it's notably so, but otherwise resign yourself to being average unless mentioned otherwise.
When in doubt, you can just do a WIP of your card and start asking your model questions about it. Hell, you could probably do this with just the Aishiji lorebook and let the hallucinations guide you!

1: <test_xml>. . . </test_xml>
2: <test xml>. . . </test xml>
Syntax 1 is correct. Syntax 2 is invalid.
In XML structure, tags must be continuous strings.
A space within <test xml> signals an attribute (xml) rather than a single tag name, and closing tags </text xml> cannot contain spaces or attributes.
Additionally, XML is strictly case-sensitive.
While LLMs are generally robust at interpreting malformed markers, technical precision requires exact matches between opening and closing tags to ensure the context is correctly encapsulated, like so:
3: <Tag>. . .</Tag> (Correct)
4: <Tag>. . .</tag> (Malformed)

Has anyone been getting unfinished responses on Opus lately? It usually happens around this time and shitty OR still charges you for the unfinished response. Doesn't matter if it's anthropic or google vertex provider. Swipe after swipe and it stops. Continue the chat at tell it your response was cut off and it writes the last message and cuts of in the exact same spot.
>>
>>566700640
in heavier-detailed cards it helps section pieces together so that your instructions aren't an alphabet soup, basically creating context containers
i've had a lot of success with it so far but that's with written instructions etc, i don't think it's necessary for "user+fetish in a room" if it doesn't feature complex demands
>>
>>
>>
>>566702576
You can do a similar thing with markdown headers except, and this is important, as a botmaker you have no way of telling whether or not your particular headers are compatible with the preset people are using.
e.g. Let's say that you have this going on:
># Charname
>## History
>## Personality
>### Quirks
>## Appearance
Pretty bog-standard stuff, wouldn't be out of place anywhere.
Now let's suppose that we have this preset:
># Rules
>## Characters
>### Your Character
>## Sex Mode
Toss in your character and... oh no! Suddenly it looks like:
>### Your Character
># Charname
>...
>## Sex Mode
and the header structure is just completely fucked and ambiguous.
XML avoids this by being an entirely self-contained structure.
...Also models are actively trained on XML for instructions and shit, IIRC.

>>
>>566701242
I don't mess with OR Opus at the moment, but some tech support:
So, first of all, try increasing your output tokens a bit just to check that the issue isn't just that they're all getting eaten up by <thinking> and there's nothing left for the reply. I've been running into this a lot with Gemini as I try lengthy+complex Aishiji replies.
If that isn't the problem, try turning off streaming to see if that changes anything. If it does, it's some kind of mid-stream issue: either a per-token moderation filter or just a network issue. If it doesn't, the issue is weirder.
If none of that changes anything, fuck if I know, but maybe try this:
1. Delete unfinished sentences.
2. Reply with
>(continue)
Also, of course, maybe turn on "send reasoning" and take a peek in there to see if there's any clues.
>>
>>566704564
Ah actually I remember what it is. First of all my tokens are 20k and turning off streaming didn't help. Replying with continue didn't help. It might have something to do with the time of day but I vaguely remember google vertex cucking me due to caching. I'm not even doing sex stuff but I'm getting Opus to write a card for me and it keeps cutting out around the sex portion I assume. Something out how the stuff stored at their server triggers the filter. I remember bypassing it by switching to another model just for that response and switching back which I guess clears the cache. Nightmarish bullshit if true. Hopefully it will be fixed when I wake up tomorrow.

power levels are cool and all but who is the best fuck in Aishiji, and how do your characters compare?
>>
>>
>>
>>566705182
You just know that virgin rabbit-girl pussy's wild, but judging by the replies to >>566499547 the answer is probably either one of the rape states (if you're into that) or... swamp, maybe? Whole lotta virgins in this group.
...I haven't actually thought about Oda's fuckstyle before. He's clearly experienced, you don't get 23 kids without that, but this was also firmly the age of wives belonging to their husband so it's not like his 11 concubines had to enjoy the sex? Same goes for him fucking Mori Ranmaru, which is more of a master/retainer power dynamic.
Not to mention how he never had any kids with Nōhime, his wife, but maybe she was just barren? Or she just didn't like him? Who knows, she's a mystery. I like the (much later) anecdote about her dad giving her a dagger on her wedding day just in case Oda's the fool people say he is, though.
I like to imagine that he knows what he's doing because that's more interesting to me than him just being a one-pump chump, but who knows.
But also this is the land with the futanari rape oni so, y'know, we're grading on a scale here and he's probably just a barely passing grade. Plus he's a middle-aged man so, well. Not in /aicg/'s striking range.
>>
>>566706238
Assuming you are who I think you are, hope my email was a half-decent starting point!
I'd like to correct something I wrote, though: the Japanese ships were rown *in battle*, and they had big square sails that they'd use to actually get places before they then stowed them away so they couldn't get hit by burning arrows or whatever.
Plus most naval warfare in the Sengoku period, piracy against Korea and China aside, was all about coasts and inland seas where the winds could be a bit unreliable
For Aishiji there's not really an inland sea to speak of, though, and I don't know where the fuck Lake Buiji even runs off to. Through the swamp and then either grasslands or wildgrowth, I guess?

Contact 'em first, anon, and have a valid reason so they have some kind of incentive to contact you back.
If you're, say, the centaurs in the mountains and want to talk to the lake for some godforsaken reason... there's a whole lot of country in-between, you know? On the other hand, if the mountain centaurs wanted to talk to the dry harbor then they'd both have multiple neighbors in common (and possibly things to ask regarding them) as well as just being down the coast.
>>566710643
Anyone can send out a big missive if hostie allows it - the lake did it too!
It's just that, well, nobody really has any reason to do so at the moment.

Hello, Kazuma here. I need some testers for the upcoming Mequmin Suite v7. We are currently testing confiqurations for Deepseek v4 pro, GLM 5.1. and Gemini 3.1 pro or 3 flash.
Before you iump in, please make sure vou can agree to a few ground rules:
• You need to have the time to plav out an RP for at least 70 messages before dropping your feedback
• Please only use the models listed above during the test.
• I am lookina for actual, detailed feedback. A simple "yes" or "it works" won't help much
• If vou don't have the time to commit to a proper RP session right now, please sit down.
If vou are up for it and understand the rules, you can join the Discord server here: https://discord.gg/uz27DVPA
Once you are in the server, just ping kazumaoniisan and I will get vou added to the testing channel

Mediterranean, maybe 20-30%. More in urban areas, less in the periphery of the Roman Empire (but that's also getting towards the end of the iron age). 33% was like peak US Confederacy numbers.
Out in e.g. Germanic areas, more like 5-10%. And the iron age lasted way longer, of course.
Basically it's the difference between a "slave society" and a "society with slaves" - is the slavery a central part of the politics, economy etc. or is it just A Thing People Do?
Also, of course, at some point you start bringing in serfs and whatnot and shit just starts to get blurry.

At least it's cheap enough that swipes are expendable, I guess? I feel like it's fine for low-effort, high-filter RPs where you're fine with things being a bit sloppy, but anything with a mildly more complicated scenario (or pre-established character) would be better done with a smarter model.
Seriously, though, the advantages of deepseek compared to SOTA models is that it's dirt cheap, widely available, and doesn't need to be jailbroken. If those three aren't an issue (e.g. you're Mr. Moneybags or in a private proxy, and have a good JB for your model of choice) then obviously deepseek's going to be a miss.
No, the real questions are shit like "is V4 better than V3/R1?" and "Is V4 better than GLM?", and honestly I don't have any answers there.
>>
>>
>>
>>
>>566719596
i doubt you're reading replies, but gemini 3.1 genuinely is not worth wasting your time testing on
big G admitted itself that it's basically a failed model, it's shit at everything to the extent that the deprecated 3.0 series enormously outperforms it on every front (which is still available and will be for awhile, but only through aistudio keys im pretty sure)
3.5 soon(tm) tho
>>
>>566720275
>"Is V4 better than GLM?"
Not really. GLM has a problem with thinking circles sometimes and what some would call 'reddit humor'. But otherwise it's alright. I only ever have problems with it at like 60k token history in, DS4 stars shitting itself at 20k

Has anyone found their prose output vastly improving by not using complicated presets? I stuck with Freaky Frankenstein for about a month (from the basic 4.0 to the currently-labeled Max+) but I found the prose to be consistently sloppy and formulaic; then, after installing the DND RPGTracker I decided to just use the prompt that ships with that and I've found GLM 5.1 and DS4 Pro to be vastly more creative and compelling. Pic unrelated
>>
>>
>>
>>
>>566721242
yes I think a lot of people figured this out way back in the claude 2.1/neofurbo days, the best preset is prose instructions under 5 paragraphs. user/assistant first messages can also be highly effective (though recent claudes seem to be trained to resist them, they still work well on other model families)
>>
>>
>>566721242
The thing with presets is that they're often made for a specific person's tastes to do specific things.
So, for example, a preset might go incredibly hard on the jailbreaking aspect because it's made for hardcore baby-raping smut, but if you then try to go for a more vanilla slowburn RP you'll find that all those jailbreaking tokens poison your context. This is when you'll want to toggle them on/off, of course... except often the jailbreaks are all-or-nothing, so if you want regular old two consenting adults missionary you'll find it freakifying your girl.
On the other hand, presets are also there to prompt the models for specific writing styles and sometimes, frankly, the person writing the preset has a different idea of what good RP looks like than I do.
How often will you see "write in the style of [AUTHOR]", and wonder why exactly it's that author and what that instruction actually meaningfully does?
How often do you see shit like "this is a roleplay between you, playing {{char}}, and the user, playing {{user}}"?
How often do you see shit like "write in the style of AO3", or prompts to write informally, possibly with a bit of an otaku twist in there?
The best preset is the one where you take one you somewhat like and then start slowly rewriting it to your own tastes, bit by bit.
>>
>>566721242
knickknack is all you need
Write as {{char}} only; do not speak for or presume {{user}}'s actions or thoughts. All narration is to be written in limited third person from {{char}}'s perspective in the way {{char}} would say it; carefully study {{char}}'s personality to achieve this. Play with narration and writing style. Be extremely creative in how you choose to interpret {{char}}'s speech and narrative style!
>>
piggybacking off this discussion on slop-prose, is it true that using second-person will consistently degrade the output into wattpad fanfiction since that's what most second-person literature ('literature') is based off of? are my dreams of literary second-person rp dead and should i swap over to first-person or third-person?
>>
>>
>>
>>566722173
You'll want some tenses defined in there, probably, and maybe also some notes on formatting in some cases (e.g. I much prefer just regular text over *action* speech), since that'll end up imitating the greeting real hard.
Also, of course, for a more filtered model you'll want a jailbreak. Irrelevant for DSV4 etc., but yeah.
Also also, as someone who occasionally uses scenario cards: your prompt style is the reason people have to write "{{char}} is not a character but a scenario" at the beginning of their defs and I fucking hate that. But I also don't know how to fix it without just tossing out that entire prompt and writing a scenario-specific alternative you can toggle to.
>>
>>566722234
Somewhat. Writing theBitcher_________in third person and putting strict author style tags (who also wrote in third person) makes it write exactly like them. Removes almost all isms and —. Of course this makes it hard to coom to as now instead of saying (You) plap X it says {{user}} plaps X
>>
>>
>>566722505
>maybe also some notes on formatting in some cases (e.g. I much prefer just regular text over *action* speech)
I don't like having those in the prompt because as the RP goes on and the formatting is established, it becomes unnecessary tokens. It's much easier to simply remove asterisks from the bot in question. Same for tenses, adapt the greeting to whatever tense you want.
The actual prompt itself should be as minimal as possible. If there's prose drift you can occasionally turn on low-depth prompts to shift the writing style, but most of the time, the prompt should get out of the way once the RP is rolling.

Seems like it really was a censorship thing but unrelated to caching. Opus thinks that longform documents with leaders gets cutoff automatically on its end, probably due to the chinese trying to distill the model. Again, the fucker still charge you anyway.

The problem with second-person prose (as well as first-person perspective prose directed at you, internet RP style) is that it just... doesn't exist in literature.
First-person prose? Yeah, sure, that's call over the place. "Call me Ishmael." Lots of novels written from the perspective of a character through their eyes.
Third-person? That shit's standard. Even most first-person prose ends up having third-person stuff at times, as the first person ends up serving as an observer to whatever scene.
But second-person perspective? That shit's only ever printed in CYOA books, I think, and maybe in more conversational nonfiction books. So all the vectors are going to be running on internet data for the most part, which means that you fall deep into the grimiest pits of amateur writing.
The one saving grace is that models are RLHF'd into first+second person conversational by default: I am an assistant, you are a human user, how may I help you?
But, of course, maybe those aren't vectors you want to tap into either.

On the one hand yes, absolutely.
On the other hand, manually going through a bot's defs and greeting to change it all to third person past tense no-markdown-except-emphasis can be a real mood-killer and most often just makes me sigh and go to a different bot instead.
>>
>>566723259
>so at those token counts do you summarize and go from there?
Depends on the card, I usually just use multi-char adventure-ish cards whenever I get to the big tokens, in which case I just treat each chat like an 'arc' or separate adventure and aim to finish it within that limit.

they literally apply the same preset from opus into deepseek, or vice-versa, then complain model a or b is slop

>Grasslands

Maybe the previous general who wrote all those letters died or was otherwise incapacitated, and the new general took over (with the new description etc.) and is now saddled with all those alliances she wouldn't have made herself?
You could even use the Hostie Mailing List to blast the news of the succession across the country, if you want.
Obviously this strategy won't work with all ideas, though. Sometimes you want someone experienced at the job and has been there for a while.

Forested hills has a population of 31.3 million, but luckily this isn't a democracy and inchlings would probably have a 1/100th compromise anyhow.
"Population is power" only really counts when you're not 1/50th as tall, take up 1/2500th the area per individual, and mass in at 1/125,000th an "average" 5ft/150cm human. (Sorry, what do you mean the average height was closer to 160cm?)

After looking at the traits and considering why Merovingia would settle there (instead of one of the port provinces) I decided to treat the wildgrowth as a recent(ish) development that had an almost apocalyptic effect on the province, causing people to abandon overgrown towns and cities to live in the jungle in small bands or leave the region entirely
So the native population is probably lower than average, but the foreign settlers make up for that somewhat

the line between fetish and preference is thin and mostly only appears when someone has a soapbox to stand on
those with obvious fetishes for tall buff men will claim it’s a preference and that men who enjoy big tits have a fetish to give an example
>>
technically the definition of fetish is that you can't enjoy anything without it (so it HAS to have hyper tits and you can't enjoy anything that doesn't) and a preference is just you prefer hyper tits but you can fap to flatties or medium girls
a kink is just any non-standard arousal vector
obviously no one actually cares so they're just all used the same way

Decide what to include in your response depending on Human's engagement level.
Human is engaged if {{user}} is:
- in the middle of a conversation,
- interacting with objects or characters present,
- implementing own ideas.
Human is unengaged if {{user}} is:
- repeating similar prompts,
- visibly bored or confused,
- looking around or asking for ideas.
If human is engaged, maintain absolute narrative focus. Continue the situation mentioning only what is directly related to the ongoing events.
If human is unengaged, shake things up by introducing something new, or having a character do or say something unexpected or intriguing.

>I remain unused to releasing an artist cg set equivalent for a fxcking chatbot
logical, few do it and some even hide it in the lorebook for the curious readers to find, and it may create an expectation of the same treatment for every bot by the same makie, which might be a lot of extra work to cater to
still, here it seems like a lot of images exist already and some of them were put in there either at release or afterwards and (some of them) can't be posted here fully plus there seems to be people who'd want to them

Have you ever tried reading one of those AI-generated books out there? Yeah.
Sure, there's lots of garbage human-written books as well, but I've yet to see an AI-written one (or even just a lengthy chatbot log!) that's any good.
The old maxim about 99% of sci-fi being shit is now up to 99.9% or higher.
...Also, note that even without LLMs/local imagegen it's not like your average writer/artist is earning much to begin with. Arguably it was never worth getting into as a job, just as a hobby.

This anon has the right idea. Nothing has changed. The best AI doesn't come close to the best human work but most work is shit regardless of who made it.
You get into those industries out of passion or because you're the rare exception. AI has zero impact on the viability of those careers.
>>
>>566761662
Because shorter-form RPs are just fine and the interactivity of chatbots lowers your standards for everything else?
One of the worst things you can ever do with your chats is to scroll back up and start rereading them. That's basically always been the case. You don't notice all the repetition and -isms when you wait half a minute per reply, but if you read ten at once then they'll punch you in the face.
Consider also that e.g. Dune is roughly 141k tokens, and you generally wouldn't want your model to be working with that much context because you just know for a fact that half of it isn't real.

In addition to what the other anon said, try summarizing per scene. Grab specific key quotes if you absolutely want them remembered, I guess, but yeah.
Do it yourself because the AI knows fuck all about what's actually important.

The real losers here are places like call centers or entry-level programming jobs, and the latter ones really hurt: LLMs can't really replace a senior programmer yet, but the reason you hire entry-level programmers is so that they can become senior ones!
If you think videogames are poorly optimized now, wait until they're all vibecoded to hell and back.

God man I notice the -isms instantly. It doesn't ruin it for me because I only expect chatbots to get me off and I'd certainly rate them above the average ERP weirdo on the internet but I don't know how people think they're GOOD at writing.
Like man I fucking love that I can with almost no effort generate whatever degenerate scenario I want and indulge in it for hours. I fucking love AI. I make my cards, gen images for it, and put way too much time into it, but I would never, ever delude myself into thinking it's good at writing. Every time I see "white knuckles" or "folds close in" or "[emotion] with a hint of something more" man.

I don't like using the word soul but there's something to be said about the quirks of a a fanfiction writer that's clearly not very good yet which you can't get out of a much more technically skilled AI. Like, when you can tell that it's a teenager writing with their metaphorical cock out that hasn't even seen enough pornography to approximate sex.

tantalizing innit? bots are the things we want to interact with and prompts/presets are how we'd like to go about it. you're effectively letting your tokens be used in a way another guy wanted them to be used IF you don't at least look over and modify your preset. it doesn't even have to be your own from scratch but don't just copy and paste one.

But you aren't an artist. You just prompt an AI model. You exist because AI lowered the barrier of entry to create things. You're taking credit of an experience that's driven entirely by the AI model. AI is about scratching your own itch, so gatekeeping is not needed. You don't matter.

>>
>>566769237
A preset overrides the writing style of the greeting. But a preset is never written in a way to lead by example. It just contains instructions. That hints at the writing quality of the prompt being irrelevant. If it was the other way around, we would be making presets by inserting book snippets.
>>
>>
>>
>>566768029
This is also the cliff that separates the basic proompter, who simply throws the prompts at the model and hopes for the best, from the one who instead uses all the various tools to create an image from a sketch, edit images, and so on.
And then there's yet another cliff above that where people take the AI-generated image and further refine it themselves in Photoshop or the like... but there's definitely a point where you start to wonder why they didn't just draw it themselves.
Honestly imagegen kind of lends itself to the argument that an artist will have it easier because they can just draw the damn thing they want instead of trying to find the magic prompt for it (which sometimes doesn't even exist in the training data) (damn you, Anima).
If you're not picky with your images and their style and composition and exact details, imagegen is great! If you want actual image-to-image consistency, though, for something like an original character or place with a specific design... yeah, imagegen's gonna fuck you.

Here's a shitpost bot that I made for an anon who requested it... fuck, I guess it's two years ago now?
In any case, she had the amazing ability to enshittify the entire output by sheer virtue of having her entire definition and the like be in a very specific poorly-written style with a jailbreak to further enforce that.
Run it through a preset that isn't going full "HERE ARE YE LAWS AND STYLE GUIDES" and you'll be amazed at how a model that usually writes perfectly fine has been rendered an imbecile.
Hell, you don't even need to use this to be able to tell how prompting can change output. Just swap your preset. Guess what, bucko: the preset is itself a prompt, alongside the character defs and whatnot, and if your preset doesn't explicitly say otherwise then you'll swiftly find that the model will just default to the style and vernacular of the greeting. (This is most obvious with Default.json!)
The reason that the user replies generally don't have a huge impact on the bot replies in terms of style is because of two main things:
1. "ahh ahh mistress" takes up way less space than a ten-paragraph juggernaut of a reply
2. LLMs are pattern-matching machines, and the pattern is that User replies in style A and Assistant replies in style B.
Even then, though, you can completely fuck up your bot's writing simply by including the wrong words and inducing hallucinations or issuing contradictory instructions.
>>
>>566770563
You'll notice how the main things "real trained artists" use AI for is shit like generative fill and other Photoshop tools. All the smart crops and automatic layer-splitters and magic selection tools and whatever the fuck. Filters, etc.
>>
>>566770563
>ignores the inbetween space of real trained artists using AI for efficiency purposes
Those people barely exist. Learning how to use AI for whatever issue you have unironically takes more time than just learning how to get better at it yourself. The main issue AI tools have is that they're inconsistent most of the time at best and borderline retarded at worst. Nanobanana is the best example of this.

the inbetween stuff actually threatens shit-tier artists so they throw it in the same bin as the slop to make themselves feel better. actual good artists join in in solidarity or because they are pressured into it. though some also hold genuine anti-AI principles as well. I'm talking getting mad over the most harmless uses of generative AI here, like that one Touhou game's main menu screen.
the only legit anti-AI argument is that every line drawn by an actual artist had some intent or feeling behind it, but with AI, it's just a random roll of luck.
>>
>>566770708
>to them ai is a theft machine. it’s seen as cheating as technically no artist in a dataset consented to being there
The only thing they care about is that AI devalues the time they invested in learning a skill. Everything else is posturing. They don't care about copyright or theft. It's about money. They're mad that other people can do what they do.
>>
>>566771068
Ironically the main thing imagegen can do that artists will struggle with is realistic images and fake photographs.
Which, unfortunately, are the kind of thing that just scream "AI slop" to high heavens. Hence why all the /aicg/ cards tend to be using anime models, with "realistic" images being pretty fucking unpopular whenever they show up.

For instructions, it doesn't matter if they were wrote by AI or by an human, the only thing that matters is what they say. If you use instructions to alter the writing style, then you don't have a problem with AI-generated prompts.

I get you. I built an anime harem scenario but I can't seem to get the characters dynamic enough to be satisfying. After playing awhile they just kind of developed into patterns where certain characters were prone to lead to other specific characters on any given scene and then some would just stop appearing altogether without manual prompting since they didn't latch onto anyone.

>kinda wish there was a sandbox like that where we could set cards to roam about and whatnot at least dynamically.
That paper was a while ago, but the issue was mainly that it was extremely expensive the way they'd set it up.
Maybe with DeepSeek and modern prompt knowledge, caching etc. that'd be less of a problem.

ai writes like crap anon; it's literal dogshit
there's the occasional gem but it's drowned in a sea of isms and derivative descriptions
making it write like a schizo to offset that eventually wears you down because it turns the text into an unreadable word soup. sure it looks nice, it's different. but that's it
we're here because it's the only to talk to imaginary characters and are autistic to a fault: there's not a single anon here that is not in the spectrum in some way, however faint
as for visual art there's a certain something that ai that can't quite capture right now, but here is where competition is most fierce
i would say the starting floor has risen considerably. anything that was mediocre or sub-par is now pretty much dead
but still, human creation... it's the only way to be sure that came from the soul and not a machine; however bad, there's still a lot of value in it. at least for some
