It has RPG elements, certainly. >shops and items >equipment >rpg exploration areas with random battles >increasing stats and stat-based outcomes Sucks that later Princess Maker games got rid of that
>>3973212 yes. Raising Sims (and their closely related cousin - Dating Sims) are RPGs in the truest sense of the term. More than most CRPGs and JRPGs actually
I wish the princess maker deravatives that have been coming out emulated/expanded on the mood system from 3 or the personality changes musu can develop in 5. what i'd really like is one where you influence the personality that your daughter develops through what stats you raise and events
>>3979076 >Yes. They have the number of badges they've gained and the money they currently have. Then Princess Maker has about the same. The father handles the money and items.
Pokemon does have the badges which represent your ability as a trainer (and actually give boosts in battle and determine which Pokemon will obey). So the Pokemon trainer has a little bit more stats than Princess Maker dad.
>>3973212 obviously. it's a shame there's a parent layer though, it'd be more interesting without that layer of abstraction. that's why I prefer Tale of Wuxia, which is essentially just a princess maker with extra bits
>>3979892 if you like the princess maker format that's a big obstacle cause they love making them. volcano princess, tale of wuxia, path of wuxia, chinese parents, probably a ton more I'm forgetting since most of them are dogshit. but I love this genre. you could always run it on a virtual machine if you're actually serious about being worried about that.
>>3979292 Daughters aren't blood related in princess maker, they're either given to you by god or the fairy queen or her real fairyland royal parents after they died from demons or something and you escaped to our reality with her
>>3979905 The Chinese stuff have mostly removed the marriage to daughter aspects, partly because some of them do make them blood relations and that's a big no no on both steam and wegame.
>>3976146 That's a completely asinine way of doing it. You abstractly play as the father but you interact with the world entirely through the daughter who has stats and levels and can do combat. You effectively play as the daughter with the father being there as a justification, you're just being a pedantic faggot.
