>>3973663 >>3973680 Is it fun to explore? Is there fast travel unlockable so I don't have to spend 20 mins walking between each settlement every time I need to?
>>3973685 I enjoyed exploring. There's some cool spots you can go to and access areas you get fucked up in early. There is fast travel, but you don't really need it. The map is pretty small. You can go from 1 end to the other in like 5 minutes.
>>3973680 Just upgrade your stats and get good weapons.
>>3973685 There's fast travel which costs money but I believe money is a finite resource so I'm hesitant to use it. At least, I never noticed any monsters or mining nodes that respawned besides some wild beasts between acts, not over time.
>>3973727 >>3973699 How long does the game take to finish? I'm interested but my time is limited these days, takes me like 2 months to finish a 30-40 hr game
>>3973567 Good but filled with browns and manly women and manly brown women in a setting inspired by white celtic mythology. It could have been a contender but for that. I'd play games like it without the shitlib wrapping.
>>3973736 First play through was about 40 hours (estimating by my steam count) and that's with exploring the map edge to edge and doing every side quest I could find.
>>3973567 Absolute shit, don't buy >germon team >arrogant scum >every fight is the same >obvious trap choices and pigeonholing "builds" >always outnumbered and not enough stamina to dodge and attack, results in kiting >barely spells in the first 70% of the game, meaning you can spec for mage and softlock >no rp >girl bosses only
>>3973765 No >alert Not worth 5 bucks Not worth to play Exploring is not fun. There is nothing to explore. Itemization is nearly non existent and exploration nets you potion ingredients.
>>3973822 I beat the game and spot all the trap choices like light armor. Admittedly the game was overhauled just recently and addressed all of my critique. It's still full of token and strong women propaganda. >>3973943 I don't cheat, aka use consumabkes, money or quest rewards. Or ranged weapons or spears or shields.
>>3973961 >bait or you're a retard Neither, I always forget to use consumables. Menus should be forbidden in rpg design. Just know I booted up ff9 and realized one spends most of the time in menus 'playing' ff9. Not a friend of Rdr2 ring menu, but it's the right design irectin. Secret of mana was likely successful due to this design element and well, it's killer ost.
>>3973567 The "dying world" setting is pretty well done. The shadow around the edge of the map actually feels menacing. Combat takes a bit of getting used to.
>>3973567 pretty great entry to gothic-likes. was tied for goty for me in 2024. >>3973572 it's not a mobile game, they just recently made a mobile version
Not bad. The dialogue is shockingly german but that shouldn't be a surprise since german dev. Incredibly comfy music. Personally found the world and lore interesting but it's not gonna blow anyones socks off. Combat is in a weird space where you CAN pure skill so good at video games it but it feels like it wants you to be a little fucking miscreant with all the items available but actually using your full arsenal, while isn't clunky, is just not very engaging since you'll be menu hopping to hurl 40 bear traps and grenades at stuff. The two factions and progression mostly coming from working with them is extremely evocative of Gothic.
>>3980028 >Personally found the world and lore interesting but it's not gonna blow anyones socks off. Correct >Combat is in a weird space where you CAN pure skill so good at video games it but it feels like it wants you to be a little fucking miscreant with all the items available but actually using your full arsenal, while isn't clunky, is just not very engaging since you'll be menu hopping to hurl 40 bear traps and grenades at stuff. All recent German games feel like that >The two factions and progression mostly coming from working with them is extremely evocative of Gothic. That is the magic of gothic? Having two factions to work for?
>>3980061 >That is the magic of gothic? Having two factions to work for? I didn't say that. I said that the way it's set up in Drova is evocative of Gothic. Specifically in that the particular way gear tiers and trainers are gated behind faction progression reminded me a lot of Gothic 2.
>>3980088 Maybe. I detest it. It's typical for germoney. FYI the masters of machine engineering that were rocked by the second poorest country of this planet in like 30 years. Sucks to be them, I guess.
>>3980088 >I said that the way it's set up in Drova is evocative of Gothic. >>3980090 >Maybe. I detest it. This design is >>3980090 >typical for germoney
>>3983212 So basically, it is to Gothic what Underrail is to Fallout. >*S** types (NPCs) be like >"Yo so it's a frickin banger that improved everything!?" >*N** types (real humans): >"Ah I understand, it's what happens when NPC midwits try to recreate something they didn't understand."
>>3983212 >AI generated plot I did some testing and ai writes really well given the right input and all. Easily better than 75% of all people. It holds narrative structure very well, meaning no all over the place plot either. Unlike most games. Drova has no ai plot, don't be fooled.
