any tips on getting into this series? I don't normally ask for beginner tips for video games as I believe that figuring stuff out is often times part of the charm, but these games appear pretty "hardcore" in a sense that they don't give a fuck about meeting you halfway

I am also not a youngster anymore so I just have less time for pure trial and error

I'd like to get into the series as it really looks beautiful artistically, and the name "Realms of Arkania" just sounds cool as fuck

come to think of it that's the one singular thing that made me finish "Temple of Elemental Evil" the first time I played it, the name was too damn cool to drop

BoD is a lot less autistic than Star Trail, which is the game that people are thinking of when they have stories about getting the plague from sleeping on the ground instead of a bedroll or whatever. I remember basically just blundering through Blade without it taking excessively long but it's been quite a while so I can't give specific advice.

Same reason I picked up Ultima Underworld: The Stygian Abyss a few months ago and ended up loving it. Keep us posted if you like Realms of Arkania, I've been meaning to check it out as well.

It wasn't hardcore if you bought the box with a manual in 90s.
You know, so the game doesn't have to include the fucking tutorial sectin all players hate after the 1st playthrough.
