>>3978126 >>3978132 I forgot to put the links Also I’m not the Usual Threads Maker, I made it since a guy on another thread asked that someone make a new thread
>>3978146 >Also I’m not the Usual Threads Maker, I made it since a guy on another thread asked that someone make a new thread That's the thread equivalent to being an adopted child.
>>3978166 One of two things happened to the denizens of Leaf's gardens after it broke apart in ending D of BS1. Either a) they fell down to Wonderland or b) they got snatched up by Mabel to be put into her Shatranj (Chaos Dungeon).
>>3978146 Oh, okay. I actually haven't been to the threads lately and just saw the zip file as I'm decluttering my files. The coincidence of this thread, thought it was still on /vg/ or /jp/ or wherever the fuck then I rememebred seeing a thread on /vrpg/ before. >>3978147 yea? nice.
What do you guys think about potential surrealist influences on EMMM? I read https://www.pointnthink.fr/en/the-art-of-clair-obscur-expedition-33/ and it got me thinking about what could've inspired EMMM visually. It's clear that EMMM is very well-read and we can trace his western literary influences/references pretty well, but what about painting and design? Pic rel is by Beksinski.
one of you has requested that i return for a visit, and here i am as promised. so Ia Ia everyone, hope things aren't too Grim right now. forgive me if my writing is a bit unstable, I'm a little psychotic right now. Concerning lack of Spoiler walls, all things given. Shamefur first impressions
>>3980231 glad to hear i fulfilled my knightly oath. i'll visit try to visit at sundays during my alice threads if i have the spare time. >Right before I get on my flight anon, i might have some terrible news if this new virus isn't a nothingburger...
>>3980583 true, pharaoh nyar is just my ideal nyar. also was referencing that one image of moot that comes to mind when i think of tco. id make a drawing/edit but i dont want a 3dpd image of a man dressed like a little girl on my computer
I'm getting a very bad omen that i simply cannot shake off. something is about to arrive soon and i don't know what, but i believe it was hinted to me from the first dream i had this year.
>came to the conclusion that unis with her unseen horses is the hardest boss fight in the game >found out later it can be steamrolled with spiritual unity+divine beast thunder eventually the fights become so easy to trivialize... thinking of trying an SL1 run. what are the rules again?
>>3981380 No levelling, no coloured souls, no pocket watches, and then varying degrees of not using the more overtly broken stuff like Requiem, chaos blast*, spiritual unity, snake blood, GA, other CD spells, and so on. I'm sure I'm forgetting something. *on crit-able enemies it enables a guaranteed 1HKO because haha percentage based damage still benefits from multipliers if it's classified as elemental, and even aside from that it's kinda way too good. >pic https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=asHJtVUl80Q
>>3981416 >and then varying degrees of not using the more overtly broken stuff like Requiem, chaos blast*, spiritual unity, snake blood, GA, other CD spells, and so on. this feels like it was added on after the fact hell even the pocket watch rule was an addition since the first sl runs were in 1 not 2
>>3981380 >what are the rules again? Do not level up, do not use colored souls. The stats you have at the beginning of the game are your stats. Period.
>>3981380 These are forbidden by default for a legitimate SL1: leveling, permanent stat up items, Requiem, Spiritual Unity, and the trio of cheese items (Pocket Watches, Snake Blood, Star Fluid). Many people add a few of the other restrictions, but you can do whatever you want; it's mostly an honor system. For instance, I don't see anyone listing Throwing Knives, and yet you could cheese almost all fights with it just like you'd normally do with Watches.
>>3981820 Many thanks. Speaking of which, last time that was shared ITT the anon who did so also accompanied it with Lewis's Faces in the Fire poem. However the version he posted is not the more commonly found one, although it is present in some websites in the form he posted. Chiefly the portion about the girl as a mother is in only one of the two. Is anyone able to verify that both versions did exist in Lewis's published works and if the change happened between the first time it was published in 1860 and when it was published again in 1869?
>>3981416 >>3981653 well, fuck you, how was i supposed to beat the butcher and jubjub then? i've been refraining fron using it since i got the kishingatana and black goat ring
>>3981915 Aside from Resurrectionist being basically a mandatory ring for some portions of the game, anything that's a single hit can be lived through with grit. Also if you really want to get down to it there's some insane optimization you can do with weaponswaps. Also guarding with soul shield legitimately gives you so much damage reduction.
>>3981899 JubJub is after Goat ring so you can easily defeat her in a straightforward manner. The Butcher is annoying boss because he guards the candies for Goat and has decent stats, though there are a lot of ways to do the fight cleanly. This is one of the few early encounters where speedmaxing is not ideal by default, but Node's covenant plus good rings let you tank him. The cock&friends summon does excellent damage to him if you give it a Mead, though in that case you have to be fast enough to heal it up before the boss. If you can live through his rage attack, Andor+5 and weaponswapping into it for last action also works. And if all else fails, sleep+poison with high Speed+Luck should be doable but painful, though I didn't try it. And you can just hope to get lucky with aggro on the summon, which is a dumb 'strategy', but it works fairly quickly. There's a practically infinite number of things you can do to beat the bosses in this game.
>>3981945 It's been several months since I did that fight, but I'm like 95% sure his rage attack multihits.
>>3981416 percentage damage as a whole is a meme. even with those restrictions, black wave+hammer for instance is ridiculous. wanna use kaizer knuckles and beasthunter saw as primary damage buffer and dealer tools. i assume immortality stuff being disallowed means guardian angel is also banned? doesnt seem like a big problem with guard being as strong as it is >>3981621 >>3981653 i see. the plan is to beat most bosses in the game including the cd ones and leiden and unis before making the decision to join either. curious how the edith and onimusha fights are gonna go
>>3981951 Most people I've seen ban black wave too, if you even bother to get it. CD grinding is annoying enough as it is. >guardian angel I'd assume so except for the owl, but you get it so late it barely matters for most of the game. >onimusha Might be the case that you actually take into account her attacks all being a specific damage type.
>>3981951 >>3982104 Onimusha is highly dependent on when you do AR. She's easy with a certain DLC3 upgrade that enables you to use spells. But if you're pre-DLC3 and still rocking the Goats as your base, it will hurt a lot. Remember that you don't get to use items there. I wasn't able to clear Ashes in a couple attempts pre-DLC3, but it was very easy afterwards.
>>3982104 Guardian Angle is not even that good for SL1. It's the best armor in a normal, blind gameplay, but losing all buffs means that you're often dying next turn on most lategame bosses at SL1. Sometimes it does save you, but the remaining fights are better approached with specific gear turned to that encounter rather than a hail mary dice roll. Aside from the Owl3 fight.
>>3982108 >It's the best armor in a normal, blind gameplay Debatable with how good some of them are, and definitely not true once you exclude the blind part. I think Rainment and the high evasion one are the go-tos most of the time, or Sun for raw damage, but I may be forgetting some.
>>3982281 >? Toro is a known self admitted fan of western horror movies and some DRH screenshots show a clear Jason reference, and there may be stuff already in BS too. One of his more recent posts was about the new Final Destination IIRC.
>>3982293 i know, just dont think the entire friday series is required viewing to understand that hockey masked character considering how absurd the later entries got. movies 1-4 or 1-7 are the ones id consider required watches to understand jason voorhees conceptually.
>>3982322 You can play Red Hood's Woods if you haven't yet. BS1 and BS2 were both ported to Steam with slight translation improvements and uncensored art. A BS-inspired game came out but has not been translated yet afaik. Toro said Dead Red Hood is coming out this year.
>>3982317 its not really a big deal. complete series suggests the films after part 8 must be watched to understand whatever's gonna happen in drh and i cant imagine toro sincerely putting in references to any of the later movies. theyre just too irrelevant to the previous ones and actually insane
Oh shit just noticed the cards are in stock again. Also fuck Buyee for forcing me to pay in USD and pocketing an extra dollar from the currency conversion.
>>3983173 >grim sees girl escape the prison somehow >"mmm thats weird, dont let me question it any further and just let me put her back inside again" is he retarded?
>>3983405 Good luck anon. This thread can be a bit spoilery for 1 (and for 2 sometimes) so be careful, but it is probably best to have you post here and not in the NGO threads. Also just in case you'd missed this: >>>/a/288010158 >>3983413 I need to replay BS1 soon. I got nostalgic when I happened to listen to that track again. Kind of an underrated one, though I understand why Name, Alice steals the spotlight as moody BS1 track.
Update since then, killed gretel and hansel, the dog chimera thing and just killed the rotten burg king, leaf is the goat holy shit she carried me through the boss fights easily. Now I brought the maid with me, already gave her 10k souls >>3983421 Yeah, I posted on the ngo thread since it slowed down and it's likely going to be archived soon but I rather not keeping so off-topic there >Also just in case you'd missed this I saved the link and screenshot the post but thank you anon!
>>3983797 Changing the font messes up some specific formatting changes they made because of the new font, pirate the dlsite version if it bothers you that much
>>3983797 I don't think BS1 had soundtrack changes, did it? >>3983804 >So you're better off doing a image swap to the DLsite version instead? No because the Steam versions have a slightly better translation.
>>3983835 using spoilers is an sign of civility, and when you abandon your civil duties you become the online equivalent to what the world is today. a cesspit of upmost degeneracy forever cannibalizing its own tail.
>>3983839 and besides, only niggercattle care about "relevancy". and everything relevant today is so deceptively decrepit twisted and corrupt to the core to the point deserves no less than to be tossed into the deepest bowels of oblivion and left to wither away into nothing.
>>3983835 >>3983843 Funny enough yeah, I heard about the name like once or twice but that's about it an anon sold me on /a/ by mentioning how you can kill a fairy by cumflation as my first sex scene so I started playing yesterday. Ironically I didn't find that scene as of yet, nor I did any rape at all despite my love for degeneracy (ignore the fact that's the first thing I tried with leaf)
>>3983943 I don't think there's any harm in getting one more, though I think they also drop in the CD. If you're wearing one you might as well wear more than one anyway most of the time. >conflagration and absolute precision The first one's a fairly standard damaging spell IIRC, nothing overtly particularly strong or banworthy about it. AP you could forbid yourself from using if you wanted to for the sake of the challenge but honestly it's just a really big QoL most of the time and I don't think I've ever seen anyone list it as not allowed.
>>3983943 It's a little boring, but all the way until DLC3, your "optimal" braindead ring setup for most fights is probably 4 Goats, or 3 Goats + 1 anti-instakill ring for fights where that applies. Seconding the other anon, I've never seen anyone ban AP. People don't seem to ever ban any offensive buffs aside from Black Wave, and some of the best weapons/spells have the AP effect built-in.
>>3983943 spells and equipment should not ever be limited, and I'll die on this hill especially since whatever people consider OP, enemies can either negate them (requiem), ignore them(usually a single status immunity, not too bad), or literally do the same thing back to you (go find the vid of the guy who got chain stun locked by the orcs lmao)
>>3984469 not bad... but no, fuck dragons! give me another character to write a poem who isn't a dragon or a demonbeast. i will deliver that poem with my upmost competence.
>>3983154 sometimes, I really wish I had the artistic skills to bake a Unis rapege with 20+ different scenes of you violentely correcting her into a proper housewife/slave saved good work
