How is this guy seething every day about this minuscule general which probably has 10 people in it at any time? It baffles the mind.
Anyway, Fangbros will win bigly with her quest and the boat scene, trust. The 10k word explicit sex scene will come.

Another writing day, another dumb idea to turn a small fight into a big fight.Angelo's questis running at 23k words and has plenty to go. Any requests for what to prioritize before the next partial-chapter update? I'm planning this quest, the start of ch10 until you can go back out to Nanhou, the introduction of a notice board for misc small quests to pass some time, a change to make other companion quests take 2 days if doing them after the stallion trial, and, god willing, to address+fix the fact that losing my ~30 hour PTO writing days to family sickness just before ch9's release forced me to cut the entire plot tokidnap Big Zhu after the snake trial while unpowered. Could fit 2 or 3 more things to make it a solid half-chapter like the printing press or auction house.
>>

>23k words
Nice.
>Any requests for what to prioritize before the next partial-chapter update?
Eeh, I'm drawing a blank here. Most of the stuff I want was already requested before and should be part of the cut content you wanted to add later like the weighted clothing during the Tiger trial.
Inability to visit the bank in chapter 9 was quite troublesome. I don't know if you want to address it or not but if you prefer not to, could we at least sell cargo? We can get a bunch of it on the Guarded Blossom thanks to Fang and it would be nice to turn it into money. Jin can probably do it in our name.

>Any requests for what to prioritize before the next partial-chapter update?
F A N G
If you release an update with Angelo's quest but not Fang's I am going to punch you through your screen.
>a change to make other companion quests take 2 days if doing them after the stallion trial
I would honestly suggest making the +1 day you get in Nanhou from the JDF the default. It feels pretty scuffed to try to do all the quests and the Rin/Jin/Kosuke training in a normal playthrough. Also, a source for more Memorywell elixirs would be nice. I want both the siblings and Kosuke to have at least one element, and sometimes you need to use one yourself as well depending on the combination you go for.
Also, lore question - what even is the difference between custom techniques you've talked a few times about (everybody got 2 slots iirc) and normal techniques/chi manipulation anyone can learn? Seems to me that with the right element/knowledge/genius you can already basically do whatever you want.
>>
>thought Zhao Yang was going to make ALL your runes +2 if you pick that one training option as a Lunargoth
>turns out he just gives you three extra runes, but you can pick duplicates of those you already own to make those +2
Phew, for a second there I was worried someone else would be half as good as Eldra. Good to know she's still the only decent pick.
>>
>>3978798
Might want to make that post again in the other thread, that's where everyone else seems to have gone to.Make do on the now deleted TO DO sections of the code about shit to do at Thunderfall in Nanhou like getting Kosuke to train with Bo or having Big Chu pass on his family technique onto you, whatever that was about. Also gonna repeat it here, using bossrozal token in Stallion trial should give you more time to spend in nanhou/on the island since you skip a 3 day adventure.

Is the Lost Heir trilogy worth buying? The screenshots on steam read like Life Of A Wizard, which I also checked out recently. That one played way too much like a game and not like an actual story, with very sparse descriptions and such. Part 1 being just 150k words seems to support this.
>>
>>3978873
>That one played way too much like a game and not like an actual story, with very sparse descriptions and such.
I have a soft spot for it but if you didn't like Life of a Wizard then I don't think you will enjoy Lost Heir. While it has a bit more focus on plot than Life of a Wizard, it's still more gamey. Back in the day, these games didn't have as many words.
And you don't need to decide now, you can always check out chapter 1 for free

I assume there's a plan for it somewhere, but cultivators who leave a lot of money in the bank and have been locked out of it for a month are either going to be very rich, If rents continue at 15%+ per day as they do the first week in Nanhou. Or very disapppointed comming back a month later to the same money as they left there, without having had access to it for a month of gameplay and maybe not beeing able to build their tavern or whatever.
Something should be done about it, at any rate.

C'est fini,
there's no games
>>
>>3979226
Zaper will rise from the ashes like a phoenix, trust the plan. Are there any promising WIPs too? I heard pactbinder had a long nothingburger update so hopefully the author got bullied into putting his talents to use in the next one
>>
>>3979227
There's Orcgods game, assuming you haven't tried his latest work yet.
As far as Pactbinder goes, on one hand you have 3 chapters of almost nothing but on another hand its author is actually working at a reasonable pace with each chapter having like 2 months gaps at most. Maybe it will get somewhere eventually,
>>
>>
>>3978798
Actually, I have something that needs to be fixed...in chapter 9, because you don't have access to the bank, you can have this issue where you *have* money but you can't get it, which is a real problem with how much stuff you have to buy in that chapter.
Also, you can straight up go into negative shards if you have the gold and silver. It doesn't convert.

I am assuming the plan is to return to Nanhou and do quests during downtime for the next trials, so some quests will have to take a backseat (maybe Guiren's).
My 5 days are pretty much Mist Chambers/new best friend, Dessy for 2nd memorywell elixir, One excursion with twins, Leona and Guiren. You could Replace Guiren with Fang.
Also, not sure but I have at least once reached Nanhou and had 4 days left to roam. I do not think it's just based on having transport ships
>>
>>3979366
You don't need to actually use the Mist Chamber to get the event with Brass Tiger, you can simply say no and save a day if you weren't planning on using it. And Leona's quest barely gives you anything if you aren't romancing her and want to strengthen her or you just suck at crafting and need the free swords.
You get an extra ship day before Nanhou with Transport ships but the actual activity ones are fixed.

>I am assuming the plan is to return to Nanhou and do quests during downtime for the next trials, so some quests will have to take a backseat
I'm pretty sure most of the quests need to be done before the Dragon Trial, though. You need to do them to get a romance scene with the girls (and also to get one of Desdemona's sword)
>>
>>3979407
Leona's swords., yes.
Dessy scenes can happen regardless of quest.
You miss out on fang ship scene, but you dogwalk her later if you want
Guiren is also a source for a talisman.
And Angelo will have somehow the best reward to complicate things further
>>
>>3979411
Ah yes, I confused the two names. They're both lunargoths and have their own paths but i don't really play them.
Anyway, yeah, I get not allowing you to do *everything* but giving you even less choices just seems a bit lame.
>>
>>3979374
>you can simply say no and save a day if you weren't planning on using it
Yeah, I only use it as a monkey yokai. In other instances I just go there, befriend my best friend and then leave. Later you can send twins to train in the mist chamber for free if Tiger offered to cover your bill so it's still kind of nice, though obsolete if you play as a herbalist.

Has anyone played a complete failure Aura Clash run? Basically failing any check that doesn't outright kill you. I wonder how much reactivity there is to you actually being a complete loser just barely scraping by.
>>
>>
>>3979461
It's just a weird decision all around. Even if the symbolism behind it makes sense as the idea to escape from the design of the world, it's execution is questionable as it comes out of nowhere and is completely divorced from whatever you do. All the other characters progression do make sense, follow their expected character progression and you can influence them one way or another.
>>
>>
>>3979467
>>3979468
I find it rather weird that despite the theme of breaking away from the designs of the world being persistent in her romance, there's also the ending sequence where you can teach the Gods forgiveness. Admittedly, you can sort of keep the "romance" with the alien Octavia but it feels like I'm being slightly jewed over her secret society thing anyway. I'd be less upset if she wasn't a one of those hot forbidden romance types, despite realistically Brante never having a chance with basically an elf
>>
>>3979468>keep the family together
>Father's dream is still crushed
>Mother dies anyway
>Stephan dies doing what he does best (picking fights)
>Gloria gets herself killed being retarded
>Nathan gets a happy ending (somehow)
>You die
Life and Suffering indeed, damn is it hard to get the proper stats for that ending if I try keeping the family stable

Anyways! The others were spot on with their assessment of Decadent Heir. It’s a Brante clone with ESL writing that feels off. Still it’s only the first act, it’ll only get better!

[Random Events Will be Scryed Each Night]
Got this after Dessy's quest while having the Kiihakai style but it never seemed to do anything.
The tavern repair code has been bugging out in my femMC playthrough. The first repair left it at 80% when it always was 100% before, then I repaired it again in the second event, but then during Eldra's training when I passed a craft check and repaired it again it's still at 80%.
Typos:
"The local culture is to where your undergarments."
Also several "goodlucks" without a space. Same for "hotspring".
>"It worked!" You say back to Zhao Yang, hiding in the jungle. He's too far away to hear the 'tsk's he lets out.
Should be "you" here.
As for priorities, you should focus on Angelo's, Fang's, and Rin's quests. And all the other stuff that was cut previously. Now's a good time to go back again and see what the story is missing I think.

>Any requests for what to prioritize before the next partial-chapter update?
Some sort of in-game information or headsup that demonic cultivation is actually super cucked and dooms you in the long term by preventing ascension and fucking you up if you have the JDF. I was surprised when I found out about this in the choiceofmods thread. Usually in xianxia demonic cultivation may be evil and often has drawbacks, but it's still a legitimate path to power. But in AC it's just a straight up wrong path.
>>
>>
>>3979499
Muh immortality and power. Ascension in AC seems like it's pretty boring as well desu, there are no higher realms, you just become a heavenly janitor manging ferret births or whatever on a planet for 100000 years until you get promoted to manage clouds. But actual immortality and learning all styles & elements is still nice.
>>
>>3979497
One can only assume, most likely your character will assume command of a peasant leave or something (if they do talk about the eastern front, it’ll most likely be short desu) (the story itself seems to be focused more on the revolution)
>>
>>
>>3979503
It's still a bit scuffed because your immortality stops working when you run out of chi but yeah it's pretty great. Unless you're a JDFchad it's the obvious choice. Meanwhile the poor indiana jones knockoff is really just whatever. Even as a Lunargoth I don't really care about him.
>>
>>
>>
>>
>>
>>3978798
Is there any reason why Yang doesn't kill you like those demonic tribe cultivators and instead even offers you a foundation that enhances your inner hellscape? Angelo has the excuse that by the time we're in too deep we're already basically friends, although it's still weird that he doesn't say anything. But Yang at that point has noticed it, is against it, and has no previous relationship with us. So it's strange that there's not even any comment about it.
>>
>>
>>3978798
>Scarlet Bladed Chi explodes away from you in eighteen simultaneous shattered energy attacks.
Got this sentence in the Sakura fight while on a sorcerer run, which I'm pretty sure is a bug.
As for requests - sex. You're like a million words into the story, it's honestly a travesty that you haven't used some of the classic xianxia tropes yet. Aphrodisiacs, a yin/ice constituation/foundation that coincidentally requires our yang rod to cure it, some really cocky cultivator randomly swearing a soul out to do anything after we beat her, I could go on for several paragraphs. Same thing for non-sexual tropes, which I could actually just write books about. Despite the shounen nature of AC and it being more xuanhuan it's no reason to give up on the classics.
>>
>>3978798
a) Give unique names for each core assignment for Palm of endless beating. Like, Soul Core is 'imagining a beating'
b)Actually have the MC or his aura shout 'Endless Beating' whenever the technique is used
c)Maybe give it a .gif or sound effect too

It's bretty good, you can become a full-on revolutionary terrorist and genocide the ayys which is based. It's not really a "you suck at the game" path, just a different one, in some ways it's better than the noble one. It's just very straightforward so there's not much to discuss.

Another unc game huh.
Noticing a lot of typos. Way too many in fact.
>first obvious RO was a married woman
>date with second RO and the first thing she does is say she wants an open marriage
>flashback friend was a golddigger
>next door actress seems entirely fake and has some bitchy friends
Not gonna lie, the only woman I'm interested in so far is the little sister. But I'm not expecting incest from nicky. Wasn't interested in slutting it up with random whores so my MC is a wizard.
>>3980120
Yeah it's kind of whatever. As someone sort of in finance, it wasted too many pages on finance stuff without really saying anything worth reading, and the part that people actually play the game for, romance, seems lackluster.
>>
>>3980121
Also, I just got to the first negotiation (with the movie studio) and it's a joke. Despite picking the best answers and doing a ton of prep beforehand, I keep losing a charisma check regardless of what I pick and it doesn't matter. Feels like the charisma pick at the start is the objectively correct choice because so far my intelligence hasn't really done anything.

This game is pretty baffling to me. There is no reason for the MC to care about the kingdom. He was already strong enough in his early years that the presumed strongest guy in the kingdom couldn't keep sparring with him, and the dragon in his mind can take over his body at any time and still cast magic. So why is he still the lapdog of the kingdom? I presume there is /some/ reason, like magic mind control or something in the MC's past, but for now it just feels weird to play. He's a magic experiment with no freedom, if not the ability to just run away, then at least let me not care about these soldiers and civilians. I haven't been ordered to fight yet so I don't want to fight.

>>3980137
It really is quite tiresome how many IFs work like this. Like, here I just met the obviously designated wife created by the author for the MC, so I just... return to the army? Why? Just a single sentence explaining why the MC does it could explain it, but without it, it's just immersion breaking.
>>
>>3980121
>>3980122
First RO is the heiress (and she doesn't actually want an open marriage, she's just giving you an out in case you only want a marriage for the political advantages), second RO is the single mom and third RO is the actress, the married woman is just a fling/side RO as far as I'm aware.
>negotiation
Intelligence doubles the effectiveness of the preparation you do for the negotiation, so Intelligence and Charisma characters end up in about the same place (Charisma characters get bonus points for picking the best options, but you still need to actually pick those options). Of course if you were retarded and told your aunt you were going to compete for the crown she'll absolutely fuck you over here.
Intelligence also gives you some in-character pointers for what are obviously bad decisions like approaching your competitors for the movie company.
>>
>>3980142
I did all the preparation I could and got to 70% I think. I groveled at the beginning, which the seller liked, but then in the actual discussion no matter what I did I always got a failed charisma check meaning the result was average or negative. Then I also got the retarded gold digger event with the actress where paparazzi photogrpahed us together and all choices led to a reputation loss with the seller. At that point the game was over anyway but I would've just dropped it otherwise.
>>
File: 1750247453078043.png (192.8 KB)
Oh the capital city is getting sieged? Great. Where's the option to help the attacker. Or to just run away. I don't want to keep harping on this, but seriously. The author seems to have established the MC's personality as someone who really cares about the kingdom, for some reason, and then never bothered to explain why that is the case.
>>
>>
File: 1762138900455982.png (225.8 KB)
>>3980146
Well, at least the designated wife is saying the obvious. So making the MC retarded has been a deliberate choice by the author. I don't know why this keeps happening, but IF authors seem to love this sort of personality.
>>
>>
>>3980047
I only ever played judge, but Sophia's a pretty hot bitch so I might try lotless. Might be hard to get the family ennobled though, it was pretty hard as a Judge anyway because Itried keeping the family together instead of convincing Gloria to get married which made her become a Brante and fucking CRATERED our reputation. Quite sad, but I understand why it hapened
>>3980057
>>3980112
Sophia goes from pretty cute in two of her appearances to actually ugly in the last one (and psychotic). Anyway, I saved the singer as a Judge and somehow she never shows up again? Is that a bug or something I messed up in?
>>
File: 1760351971454610.png (221.6 KB)
What's the point of choices if everything is locked into a singular path anyway? I took all of the indifferent options so far but my MC still just spergs out and loses his mind in rage. So many IFs feel like the author just wanted to write a book all along.
>>
>>
>>3980144
70% prep should have been enough as long as you researched at least two of his favourite films. Best route is always to be respectful > say you admire his work. mention two of his favourite movies and one of your own > say you want to make his company great again > say you'll modernise their filmmaking techniques, without mentioning internationals under any circumstances. The only thing those failed charisma checks indicate is that even when you pick the right options you're just not charismatic enough to convince him 100%. It's not a significant difference though, with the absolute best result a Charisma character can get 100+% chance to win at ~300M and 70%-80% at ~150M, and non-charisma characters can get ~80% at 300M
>got the paparazzi event
Yeah, it's owari for you. The only way to avoid that is to either not trigger the event or pay a couple hundred million extra to suck up to the guy.
You could always just conspire with his granddaughter and put him in a coma.

>>
>>3980162
>Then.. stop reading it?
The premise is still decent enough, even if the execution so far has been shit.
The backstory of the MC is that he bascially never interacted with the population, or anyone really. Someone like that shouldn't grow up to despair and rage at the sight of this.
>>
>>
>>
>>
>>
>>3980160
Yeah, it's possible to get by without doing as much preparation as possible but you really need to at least research his films, which means skipping at least some of the optional events during that week. If I remember right you have enough time to go to the actress' party (which will probably be much more important in future builds) and do two other events, but that's it.
>regardless of the negotiation though, I didn't particularily care about the story. Not a single RO I liked and the finance stuff was a nice attempt but still fell flat for me.
That's fair. It's really meant to be more of a k-drama/Succession simulator than an autistic finance simulator. I've enjoyed it so far, I think the investment management is a cool concept and I'm interested to see what he does with it, it's certainly a hell of a lot more promising than whatever the fuck he's doing with PoMA these days.
If you feel like replaying it, I recommend a Physique build with the genteel capitalist personality, the heiress is pretty cute when she starts defrosting.

Pretty sure this game doesn't have a combat system. At least in chapter 1. I trained flying a bit (but this probably always happens since you need to fly to get back to the capital) and also my swordsmanship with my designated wife. Never saw an option that would obviously raise some stat or use one though. Maybe it'll come up later.
>>3980171
My build was genteel capitalist + intelligence. If I replay it in the future I'd probably go a fully party animal build with charisma and such to see what the differences are. The heiress was decent, but I am totally not interested in children, and even less so having children in a game.

I woke up, talked a bit, flew up in the sky and saw two magical signatures. I talked to the princess and was forced to recruit her, then talked to the researcher and was forced to recruit him, and after that everything was pretty linear as well. I guess maybe I missed a choice somewhere.
>>
>>
>>3980187
I should mention that joining up with the princess and prince are routes to be written btw, so far the independent kingdom is the one that’s been completed for the demo.
But yeah, there was a “choice”, with the two other routes being greyed out
>>
>Wanna see new shit in Poma
>Have to go thru the slog known as the rest of the game
Just fucking scrap this entire game and start anew, Niggy. Idk plagiarize AC or redo the entire hub page and mission style progression of the story.
>>
>>
>>3980190
At this stage scrapping PoMA entirely and rebuilding it from the ground up would be the best course of action, which is why he'll never do it. I think he still doesn't know how he wants the game to actually play which is fucking baffling after so many reworks.
>>
File: 1753215285184247.png (172.3 KB)
I have been hoping for the independence route all along, but this isn't it. To begin with, why return to general Zatus? I picked the bird wife over him we we didn't really have any interactions, but the game acts like we're friends. But also, what are we gonna do in the cultist city? What's the goal here? Rebuilding the kingdom? Defending it? Making the MC the king? The game kind of feela aimless right now. I think the story is too trapped in the kingdom. Who even gives a shit about it? Probably my last post about this because I'm losing interest, and since I know this is the only route currently written it'll be linear from here on anyway.
>>
>>3980175
Charisma Playboy is a fun combination, credit to Nicky that he has included a decent amount of dialogue for different personalities. There's even some fun little stuff that acknowledges if you're a playboy but also secretly an autistic wizard, which is neat. Who knows if he'll be able to keep it up though.
>the heiress was decent, but I am totally not interested in children, and even less so having children in a game

>Pretty damn sure anyone would react emotionally for a moment if they see a freshly charred corpse of a child, or anyone really, in the streets
A corpse of the people that enslaved and tortured you? Yes, there certainly would be emotions, ones like joy, glee, maybe jealousy that they did it before you could
>>
>>
My personal pet peeve is that certain writers clearly want to impose specific emotional reactions onto their MC (for storytelling purposes or just their own convenience, as it's much harder to write a compelling narrative without touching on the protagonist's feelings) but are too chickenshit to commit and make them a defined character, or at least mostly defined, without player input. Once you start leaning into "play any kind of person you want", you forfeit the ability to say "you feel extremely X about this" without the reader potentially and justifiably reacting with "no and fuck you for thinking that"... unless of course you have it be a variable reaction based on the choices thus far.
>>
>>3980643
I have too many personal pet peeves to remember but I hate when an option switches perspective from your character to game master. I don't know if there's a better name for it but I mean choices like
>You open the door and see: character A, character B or character C
It shatters my immersion. At best this is just bad writing that could've been handled by just rewording the question, like
>You call A, B or C to hang out
At worst, it's your protagonist suddenly gaining meta-powers of rewriting narrative. Reading Magikiras now and it's full of this, but the worst moment so far is when you're attacked on the train and you, the player, chooses who attacks you - pirates or shadow niggas. Why the fuck am I given an option like that, not only is my immersion broken like I said but also now I know neither group will be interesting to fight because the author just treats them as interchangeable
All the times you're asked about your relationship with someone right after the game tells you their name and nothing else also count for this
>hey anon you have parents. Do you hate your parents, yes or no?
Magikiras is guilty of this too

Wang is the only writer i know that gives good room for roleplaying different dragoon personalities, though even then your dragoon can be a bit bipolar, like my cynic mercy dragoon that was always trying to position himself the best politically and trying to stay unaffiliated as long as possible for the flexibility, but also bemoan about how aweful politics is and how much he dislikes isobel and wulfram and his life. It does kind of work in that he could just be a massive hypocrite, its just sometimes his narration is overly cynical and about whats best for me and the other half is lamenting about how high he's climbing and that the number of people dying under his command has only ever multiplied. It does work but it would be better if there was more meshing between the two modes

>Reading Magikiras now
Finished
Any game that has puzzles is an automatic 0/10, the fact the game ends on a fucking music puzzle (the pseud favorite puzzle) makes it a - 5/10. Otherwise completely unremarkable, amateur prose and shitty plot about nothing. Not sure if the game ever explains what the terrorists even want in detail because I confess I speedread the ~10 epilogue pages due to how mad I got at the game ending on a fucking music puzzle and only checked if I at least get to fuck Morgan for my efforts (no). At least I picked the route where she survives, if I picked to fight against the shadow niggas you apparently can't even save her according to the forums, this>>3980673 anon was right about the choice being important
But that just reinforces my point, the pirates and shadows appear once, you don't even fight the pirates they all job to the shadows off screen (off text?) and then the one seemingly random option of who ambushes the train decides who's going to be your enemy for the rest of the game as the other is never mentioned again. Pirates also go from, well, pirates, to the best equipped terrorist organisation in fiction that manages to out-tech the fucking mage glowies nation, all the while completely dunking on both mage and american intelligence agencies (presumably others too) despite operating out of a single cave in a desert like they're Taliban. The only explanation you're given for this massive shift is
>maybe they work with pirates
And then it's completely swept under the rug, the real pirates never appear again

Can you do the Mei route in Poma without going full cuck? To be honest, if you can tie her down and rape her like in classic xianxia stories for daring to poison you it would be kino, but from the threadreading of Mei content I've done you can only do her route if you basically act as her slave.
>>
>>
>>
>>
>>
>>
>>
>>3982566
To begin with, even when being in an "alliance" with Mei and trying to fuck her, I wouldn't really give a shit about someone blackmailing her. I would like an option to blackmail her in that girl's stead or to do something else to my benefit. Mindlessly helping Mei seems like a losing proposition.
>>
>>3982556
>To be honest, if you can tie her down and rape her like in classic xianxia stories for daring to poison you it would be kino
Finally someone gets it but that will never happen. Niggolai is too much of a cuck to write something like that, and too much of a simp for his own character to let her suffer reasonable consequences for her actions. He will cut out the other characters specifically so he can focus on writing her.
>>
>>
>>3982575
Helping out a woman who poisoned you the first time you met her and who is obviously looking to betray you the first chance she gets for the chance to get even a crumb of pussy is the very definition of simping.

I know there are discrepancies between how someone thinks and how they act, but Tang Ruo here feels like a completely different character. Feels like Nicky made them nicer for some patreon fanservice, because you never see even a tiny fraction of this thought process in the actual story.

>>3982586
This part is still as hilarious as ever. I know Nicky retconned this as "aktschually, they never touched the concubines" ever since female Tang Ruo has been an option, but that just sounds like immense cope.
>>
>>
>>3982588
I thought with the lightning transformation and without any of their artifacts, the MC would've been temporarily stronger than Tang Ruo, but nope, they just gifted the MC a win out of boredom. Horrible writing, honestly.

I always feel like there's a lack of middle ground options in POMA. You can often tell people to piss off or punch them (always a mistake in this game) or be a sycophant, but not a normal person.
>>
>>

>>3982594
Why is my Ruo turning into a tranny mid sentence?
Also, this really encapsulates the problem with the game. This guy fake surrenders and then tries to kill you when you turn around, and nobody does anything. Then when I choke him a bit in the next page, not even intending to kill him, this Yang faggot shows up and tries to aura farm on me. It's like the sect rules only ever apply to the MC, everyone else is free to do whatever they want.
>>
File: 1759293707568339.png (51.9 KB)
And this is why I can never go the Mei route. The most obvious poisoning of all time yet somehow she's still larping to the very end. I would respect her more if she actually admitted it. How has nobody ever killed her until now?

>kill some bandits
>get a devil breakout
Are you telling me every cultivator in the world has these devil breakouts? Because all of these guys kill 100x more than me.
>From what my research has shown, Devil State triggers after a Martial Artist loses control. Now, such a loss can occur due to a variety of reasons: trauma, loss, grief, or, the most common for a Breakout to occur, when a human gives in to his most violent, darkest desires. It's exactly the latest cause — and the fact that Beasts, unlike sentient Spirits, can't have Breakouts — that forces me to think that Devil State is tied, at least partially, to our humanity and consciousness. When the link between our mind and our body shatters as a result of intense emotions, the Devil, which I theorize is present inside each and every one of us from birth, gets loose.
Yeah fuck you Nicky, that bandit killing scene had zero emotion.

I am interested in possibly working together with Mei - everyone in this setting is an asshole anyway, so maybe I can forgive the poisoning if she makes it up to me. But it's ridiculous that you need to ignore it to even start her route. If I pick the first option I get -99 rep and she still larps as innocent, and I cannot take any of the other options without feeling like a cuck. Working with her requires meeting her in a secondary location - there's no reason why you wouldn't expect a trap there. So going for Mei just feels like making your MC a low IQ retard simp.
>>
File: 1775829827157280.png (66.3 KB)
>>3982603
Like good lord, what is this? You've got the moralfag option (one of those wouldn't have met her in the first place), the coward option, and the retard options. Where's the option to ask what is in it for me? At this point the MC knows she's just bullshitting, and there is no grudge with Long Chen. Why do I have to help Mei Mei /for free/ like I'm some 4chan janitor? Really not beating the accusations of this being the simp route.
>>
>>
>>
>>
>>3982608
I'm trying my best to get through this because people said you can do her route without drinking the koolaid, but those seem like straight up lies. To even start her route you have to be a complete Mei Mei simp, because you're helping her with her plan to kill Long Chen, who you do not have a grudge with, for no benefit to yourself (you'll only get a powerful enemy), right after she poisoned you. The only characterization I can come up with for this sort of MC is that they got heart eyes and a massive boner when looking at Mei and turned off their brain afterwards. This is peak simping. Even the Rent A Girlfriend MC is better since at least he gets a pretend gf from it.
>>
>>3982603
>unable to say "hello" or "what do you want" without feeling like a cuck
Brainrotted beyond recovery. Nicky's writing is retarded, but being unable to express why without resorting to 4chan buzzword slurry isn't doing you any favours.

File: 1775177895215670.png (39.5 KB)
Oh nice, I got a demon in my head now because I killed like three bandits total. I am sure all other cultivators are also dealing with this nonsense and it's not just a retarded MC-only nerf.

Are you? What the fuck are you even complaining about?

And I think I found why I didn't get any Mei stuff. Probably because I told her initially that I knew it was her. What a fucking retarded setup. If you're gonna lock 50% of the game behind this bitch, Nicky, then at least don't lock the player out of her simp route so easily.

POMA is a very rare game where I feel absolutely no desire for the evil woman (who's usually the best of any setting) and a moralfag like Ai is the #1 by far. Nicky, for all his many, many flaws, actually did Ai's romance really well. But then he iced her so we still need to beat Nicky to death.

Honestly, Mei is actually hilarious isn't she.

In a non-Mei route run, this bitch is so done. Both Long Chen and the MC are waiting to kill her once they're strong enough, and she can do nothing about it.

They're called He because men are actually evil according to PoMA, Mei Mei is only "evil" because the men around her abused her (though she is still a woman and thus morally better than men). Men are evil pigs who have to be dominated by delicate, dominant flowers (women) for the world of PoMA to flourish. That's why they're called He. It's all deep a allegory and only those with media literacy can understand this.

Ai is by far the best RO imo. The romance with her is very cute, and you can practice dual cultivation. Of course, it mogged everything else in the game, so Nicky had to literally ice her.
For the rest - Tang Ruo is autistic so you'll get romance in like book 3, maybe. Caihong flew away and isn't a RO anymore. Tigress ran away to avenge her ex-bf. That new moon RO is whatever. And you have to be a pathetic simp to get and stay on the Mei route. As for male ROs, they may as well not exist.

How does the power scale work in AC? The top guys at 20-25k AP could possibly destroy the planet already if not for its inherent defenses, and you mentioned there being some 200k-300k AP gods and whatnot in the universe. With each AP meaning more than the last, at that point they can probbaly destroy multiple solar systems. Do they still waste their time regulating a planet's water cycle or whatever at that point?
>>
Man, The Thousand Of Us could've been great if the author didn't waste time and effort writing 10+ different routes for each super power. I tried 3 and they all ended at the same point, fighting that one S rank in the town, with basically nothing happening after the prologue.
>>
>>
>>3983868
Those spirit jannies are the gods in heaven from what I've seen in the discord and the choiceofgames thread, which is always a bit weird even for newly ascended gods with 25k AP. These guys are basically beyond any planet and are now acting like minor bureaucrats managing the growth of one specific species of plant until they level up to manage rivers after 100k years. In classic xianxia it works because the worlds are fuckhuge so even minor gods feel like they have power and influence, but in the AC verse there are normal planets so it's just a strange progression.
>>

I get the whole Celestial Bureaucracy-angle, but there's a difference between being responsible for something and having to manage something down to the minutiae. Its there andunfinishedbut i'd say its the weakest of the directions you could go in, i'd say in descending order theres a lot of support for being a paragon hero, a decent amount for being a pragmatic one that gets their hands dirty for the group, some support for using your powers to do some morally grey theiving on the side with telltale and a heist that will come soon TM, and finally theres the opportunities to be an asshole just because and kill dudes like the reporter, but the game spends a large majority of its time with the sidekick gang who are all high moral characters, the lowest ones probably being the ghostgirl who's a hormonal teenager and is ruled by that more than any real ethics and multidude whos working as a fed and was prophecized to betray the groupagain

Man, Book of Hungry names feels like I'm playing fucking 'guess the number' with Kyle over there. Do I have the right stat and skill combination for the next bit? If so, do I have the exact right dots not to bumblefuck my way into some bullshit?
I don't think he stopped to think that having this many variables and using them in whatever combinations results in far too many possibilities. Or that there's a very good reason every tabletop system that does have a dozen fucking skills just has you roll so there's always a chance of succeeding.
>>
>>3984041
Tabletop systems are balanced by having a GM more than the small chance of rolling a critical success. But what tabletop has is a player sheet visible to you at all times without going into a separate menu so you don't have to keep clicking stats to check your mana levels. I wish WoDslop would copy their own grandfather and put VTMB blood pool on the left side of the screen already, how hard would that be to code
That said, book is the one game where I didn't have this issue, maybe because I picked the full moon warform so I had the biggest mana pool and never had to worry about it
>>
>>
>>3984063
True, it is more about the GM; but that's an impossible factor to replicate, so I feel like at least something that'd give a chance of success even when you come short of whatever arbitrary target number is called for is the best anyone can ask for here. Though probably not randomness, as that's got its own share of bullshit.
>That said, book is the one game where I didn't have this issue, maybe because I picked the full moon warform so I had the biggest mana pool and never had to worry about it
Probably part of it, though it's less about the Rage pool alone and more stat+skill combinations in my case. But then, I dared to believe it wouldn't be another minmax episode, the way it seemed to at first encourage diversifying your skills a bit. Though, yes, Gifts lessen the issue later, and fueling them generously helps.
>>3984072
Pon Para is arguably even worse, because it's even harder to predict what it'll want from you, and it's very easy to feel like it always wants what you don't have - because it's clear Kyle had a very fucking specific thought process for each of the 'routes', and get fucked if you didn't think the same way. And unlike Book, it's way less generous with giving you get out of jail free cards.
>>
>>

It wasn't too bad on my end, although one part -dealing with the Triple King- made me go into full "are you fucking serious man" mode when I happened to have the EXACT wrong fucking combination of Convictions to be able to get a pass. Felt like a slap in the face.

>>
>>3984041
It was a similar thing with Night Road adding a +1 to the difficulty of checks every completed chapter, you pretty much deal with that here. Imo though, it compounds with the W5 ruleset where more rage = more difficulty because your character is retarded. So if you're playing anything with more rage than a Theurge you're running around at an effective -2 making otherwise easy checks at 5 or 6 (you get shittons of xp) very difficult at 7 or 8 points needed. To be fair as well, you have a lot less to use in Book of Hungry Names. I think only Kyle's games really suffer from this because of the way they're a lot more game-y than the other WoD games. Glenkildove had tons of bait checks you cannot possibly beat (because your character is permanently exhausted for instance if you wanted the best ending) and I didn't mind it so much despite having the same problem for the most part.
>>3984063
>>3984193
>Anons thinking Ahroun = free win
Only in so far that using rage for your abilities is an automatic success for the most part, but yeah both this and Night Road heavily encourage you to specialize in something useful (not your disciplines, ironically. Completely worthless in Nightroad) and maybe diversify a little bit when it comes to things your character should be able to do thematically. ie don't waste time making your low int warrior a computer nerd but also don't waste too much time trying to making your high strength warrior into a combat god for checks you nearly pass automatically. Fuck replaying this game though, long as hell.
