I admit touhou is trash, the fanbase is retarded and their "bullet hells" are extremely dull compared to Cave or any actual shmup dev. that being said this dungeon crawler jrpg is pretty good, gets to the point fast and isn't bloated with trash dialogue and menuing like most jrpgs these days. It's refreshing, fun fast combat and the dungeons are decently made.

2. The Game mentioned (2hu artificial dream) just apes old SMT aesthetic and touhou girls without actually meshing them well together. That's my primary complain.

it's just a fun SMT2 clone anon. It's a pretty solid game. It's clear that the guy who made it is a pretty huge fan of both Touhou and SMT, and for the dollar that you spend on it it's 1000% worth the price
I played it knowing essentially only the bare bones of touhou and had a lot of fun with it

If you are a diehard shmup purist 2hu is not going to appeal to you since your expectation is not what it is set to achieve
It's ZUN trying to create some kind of fantasy world that makes use of shmup elements (magical spell cards and bombs)

The gameplay and dungeons are all solid, but having a likable cast, setting, and good character designs are an important part of making a complete experience and attracting attention to it
I don't hold it against any dev for using an existing setting to that end, because there's basically no chance that the majority of them could've made something as good if they'd tried
