On the infantilization of adults, postponed families, economic induced delay/helplessness, and then if you do become financially stable in some way people are still prolonging and celebrating their own long lost adolescence. The whole market of vtubing ties to this heavily, I think it's more apparent here than it is anywhere. I'm of the opinion and share the sympathy that we were robbed of regular childhoods, most people the past couple generations more or less the same way, unstable family backgrounds, laissez faire parenting, it all amalgamated into our mediocre lesser state, when it comes to art, culture, vibrance, personal exuberance and ability and well being and expression, there's a clear downward trend, but also a resolve into a kind of pissy puddle of infantalization. When I sit down and I'm watching a vtuber, when you're sitting down being a vtuber, it's like putting on a diaper and pissing all over ourselves and sucking on a pacifier, I can't even begin to sugar coat it. We watch and hear ourselves and laugh, kind of like someone in an asylum would laugh, I have personal experience. As I reflect on and deeply consider this issue, and the future family I want and what I'd like my children to grow and enjoy and share about life, it's not anything close to this and it makes me sad, for all of us. There's not a clear easy way out and it's not a black and white thing but I believe we can look at the scary reality and begin to course correct, if you're catching my drift.
