People should read this, it's really good. I guess don't read it if the normal level of complicated shoujo emotional drama gets to you, because this is way past that in an interesting way.

What happened here is both of the characters were misunderstanding each other. "Rape" chad thought the heroine hated him and wanted to hurt her despite loving her, and the heroine loved him and thought he didn't love her and didn't just want him to sleep with her out of anything but love. There's a whole bunch of other tragedy going on, where everyone thinks the heroine is some innocent saint and the heroine is tired of no one caring about who she really is, even as she tries her hardest to be the literal saint they all think she is. Which makes the damaged bad boy the only one she can be genuine with.

It's a pretty compelling story, with a turn of the century, scifi reincarnation twist. It's nice to have story where misunderstandings are there for more than just drama, they're there because the character have their own significant biases and prejudices, and above all the need to believe certain convenient interpretations are true for their own sense of self.
