I really love how this arc slowly revealed that Imuri cared a lot more about Lisa than anyone else at the time and that's why she got screwed up far more than Angelo.
And no, Lisa, Imuri is an accomplice of Satan and she fully knows it even if she ends up feeling bad at the end (but not enough to reflect on her behaviour or to stop till she met Josh)

So I don't quite get this bit about the arc.
Josh only been on sabbatical for about 6 or so months. Even without all his EPIX GOD HACKS, dude's still a trained exorcist from birth that was able to least go toe-to-toe against Lucifer. Yeah, he is punching up against Baba Yaga of all things, but this really should be more a Coughing Baby vs. Coughing Baby situation, not an utter curbstomp.
I think depowering Josh to this extent is going to undermine whatever super demon powers he will eventually get, cause for all intents and purposes the authors just said he has no real fighting skill and only know how to toss raw power around. Mammon is getting robbed of a real mano-y-mano bout even when he's NOT here! I feel like they are going way too hard on the "YOU ARE NOT THE MAIN CHARACTER ANYMORE" aspects when ultimately this is still Josh's story.
>>
I dropped this when Josh was literally in the corner while Imuri fucked the Chad priest, but even before then my enthusiasm was in the dumps. I remember how excited I was to see a chapter drop right around when Lucifer showed up close to ch100. I think this is the one time I’ve dropped a manga.
Is this coming to an end anytime soon? What else is there to happen? Seems like a very predictable conclusion looming ahead.

yet another whitewashing translation messing up meaning\character.
Nip Satan uses "That's your best charm" with the kanji 魅力.
Which while it does means "charm" and "fascination" and the likes it uses a kanji that implies non-naturalness about it.
"Supernatural charm", basically, which can work as a compliment but also an insult.
>>
>>
>>287465982
In context you can get the same meaning you’re describing. Literal Satan saying that your guilt will fade and how that’s “the best part about you” is very clearly an insult despite the smile and definition of the words in a vacuum. All you’re missing is the supernatural aspect which I feel could be redundant since we’re dealing with non-humans to begin with.
That, or I’m also misinterpreting your translation in which case I’m retarded and gay.

Maybe an unpopular opinion, but I so far I really like Lisa's character. Her ideology is a lot more nuanced than most of the sins. Which I suppose makes sense; she's still a human at the end of the day.

He's a sad, weak, effeminate cuck who likes to bake cakes like a faggot and for some reason gigastacy loves him (for now)

>(but not enough to reflect on her behaviour or to stop till she met Josh)
Literally nothing about her has changed yet
I think that's been consistent throughout the manga, you saw her true nature when the church non lethally captured the witches and she called it the worst most evil thing to ever happen, even after seeing witches and demons kill millions. She doesn't see humans as being worth much individually, she only sees demons as her own kind, she only has empathy for evil.
The entire manga has been slowly revealing her truth nature; the fact that she seems easy going and empathetic is what fools everyone, it fooled the main character, thinking she could change, but even now he fails to understand her nature. Nothing has deeply changed.

>what's redeeming about him?
His morals, his strive to stand up for what he believes in, despite losing what made him so powerful before?
These are really common anime tropes in a protagonist but what makes Josh so much more compelling to them is that his power has been on the decline since the beginning and he continues to make the choice to be weaker. The reason he does that is best exemplified in what iroh says in TLA;
>Perfection and power are overrated. I think you are wise to choose happiness and love.
It's about accepting that you can't always just overpower everyone in your way, you might just have to keep looking for an answer while not destroying yourself in the search of perfection.

She's empathic enough to know what she's done is wrong and has immense regrets about it all, yet at the same time she's literally created and "designed" by her species nature to continue serving Satan's machinations, so she functionally cannot push herself to actually regret it like a normal person can. It's a cognizant problem she has and she's entirely aware of it, but there isn't much purpose besides Satan's bidding. She's still quite culpable but is kind of trapped in a situation that she either has to either die to be released or be fundamentally changed in essence. You can't really scale it on a normal human's sense of right, wrong, regret and redemption.

You can't really scale it on a normal human's sense of right, wrong, regret and redemption. The entire point of her side of the series is forcing herself to gradually realize she's fucked up bad and is just dragging Joshua right back down the same hole she buried Lisa in among every other person she's tricked before, and that's putting it pleasantly, except unless the author wants to be cruel this time she's being pushed to her breaking point.
>>
>>287471153
Yeah, but not enough to change her ways or to reflect on the harm she caused to people. Imuri was always centered on herself, she feels bad about others, but what she thinks about is how her ways make her suffer. Take the Asmodeus situation, where she was fine playing with Josh feelings for a pointless challenge. Or here with Lisa where she realizing for the first time what others went through.
Josh did really change her, which is the point

...he's just a corrupt priest anon, what exactly were you expecting him to do? Blast his way out and nuke Imuri with a holy kamehameha? I assume the angel matter-shooting priests are a lot rarer than the church would like because then otherwise instead of nearly dying to Beelzebub Josh would've been backed up by holy artillery from all sides, and demon lords would be much more scared of conquering the planet.
My man's a lover, not a fighter.

Anon none of the demons work like that. They don't have any biological function to do evil or serve Satan, they're every bit as capable of thought and emotion as humans are. It's only that Imuri constantly chooses to refuse to change rather than her literally being unable to.

Imuri never changed is the point. She felt bad then when Lisa was burning to the point of not looking at her before or after her death. Then she got over it, and continued to do the same thing again and again. Satan's backhanded "compliment" is just the most evil bastard calling her out for who she really is because deep down she doesn't care, she never cared.
And Josh didn't change Imuri either. What actually happened is that she finally got the love she was looking for, and as she said before they splintered from the church that she would smother him until the only thing he thinks about is her. Imuri isn't better with Josh, Josh is getting dragged into the mud by Imuri and she couldn't be happier.
Oh and here's something to think about. Why hasn't Imuri ever told Satan no? I mean he has other succubus to do his bedding, why keep going back to Imuri. She says that she'll only do the job if she can fall in love with someone, but that false as hell since she said yes every single time even if she didn't love them.
>>

>>287478100
>deep down she doesn't care, she never cared.
You could make a more compelling argument if you stopped short of going full Sith every time.
>And Josh didn't change Imuri either. This seems to be the only time she took a bullet for someone, given how convoluted it was to heal her.

>>
>>287464932
>>287464970
I wonder if the point of Lisa forgiving Imuri here is to show how fucked up Josh's relationship with her is. Lisa lived a horrible life with even less support from others than Josh did. Josh had his friends in the Church, while Imuri was the only thing Lisa had.
Lisa leaping at the chance to fully forgive Imuri because this time she could actually face her while she burned to death could probably be a way to show how Josh's own forgiveness of Imuri isn't built on him truly accepting what she did wrong but waving her sins away because she's the only thing he has left.
>you were finally able to l

>Literal headcanon, never stated or implied.
Oh yes, lets ignore all of the moments that the manga, including this time where Imuri said yes even though she had no interest in Angelo. Hell Josh even questions how many times everything he said to Imuri is a repeat of what she's heard before.
>This seems to be the only time she took a bullet for someone, given how convoluted it was to heal her.
Because Josh is finally hers and she won't part with him easyily. She wouldn't have taken that bullet before as shown by Lisa, or Angelo.
>You could make a more compelling argument if you stopped short of going full Sith every time.
Are you speed reading? serious question.

>>287480619
She cared enough about Angelo to try to bail him out along with Lisa.
>Because Josh is finally hers and she won't part with him easyily.
She can't keep him if she fucking dies. She could've just let him fight off his friends for her to escape together, but in that moment she chose to take the hit instead of forcing him to go through that.
>Are you speed reading? serious question.
No, serious answer.

>>287476182
>I assume the angel matter-shooting priests are a lot rarer than the church would like
The power of faith can only be granted to the faithful, even in this manga a lot of the higher ranks of the church are corrupt in ways. They need a new pope who will cast out the sinners, I guess Satan has played a consistent role in weakening the church

Telling the Sin of Wrath "no" sounds like a good way to fuck yourself over for all eternity. We've literally SEEN how spiteful the bastard is towards people he hates and that's just for people who can see through his bullshit somewhat.
