You're more likely to find manga in a lost language from the middle ages than in English, the home page has literal who reccomendations, and of those reccomendations half of them are marked as suggestive. Also, half of it just redirects you to a different site to read it like Shueisha. And who's idea was it to make a fucking gacha? Absolute slop.

Places like the manga subreddit won't let you link elsewhere than to mangadex because the mods on mangadex have control of the subreddit. Honestly kind of sucks. The only mod there won't let others in and uses the board for his own personal interests.

I haven't had a Reddit account since 2015. I started using it for the LoL subreddit because the the general on /vg/ was the single worst dumping ground of human waste material outside of Indian landfills. I got sick of the culture on the site and deleted my account, though I do still use it as a source for updates on various series, hobbies, etc. It's a lot better when you're not interacting with people on it.
