There's an interesting message in there, the execution is the problem. If this had been written better and with more lead-up, it would've been more acceptable. The sudden end that intentionally closed all chances to resolve any previous questions is what people hate. Part 2 Denji was a completely broken person from the very beginning, who never even once resembled his earlier self.
But that change wasn't introduced in Part 2, but in Part 1 after he went to the Kishibe bunker.
