>>288543643 >he knows Rimuru doesn't trust him >pretends to be mind-controlled >gets absolved of all previous suspicion when Rimuru wins It's a 500 IQ plan.
>>288543680 Can this little cunt even do anything other than manipulate other people's greed, because holy fuck showing up in front of a demon lord who is fast enough to stop a teleporting bullet is probably the dumbest fucking idea ever
>>288543983 They spend so long hyping her up and she just gets more stupid every episode, now to the point that she announces herself before Rimuru. Which makes zero sense for her character (a real life Epstein tier character with decades more experience than Rimuru of statecraft, politics and power games).
At least please fucking tell me this guy was immune to the loli charms all along and this is actually just part of one of his own schemes to ingratiate himself with Rimuru. Fucking please. This show desperately needs better villains.
>>288544694 He might be okay in some fights, but for the big picture politics stuff he'd be helpless. He wouldn't even know about Maribel ahead of time.
the writing of this show and especially the villains has become so ultra dogshit that I'm basically just in it for the love of the game at this point. I've watched so many episodes with Rimuru and his gang to the point that I just wanna spend 20 minutes a week living in Tempest. I miss my goat Clayman, man, just in general the Moderate Harlequin Alliance, when villains still meant something. It was still power fantasy anime, but they were villains you had fun hating, with Rimumu aurafalming and commencing TFD (Total Falmuthian Death). Now the villains are so... nothing. I'll be watching until the end because I'm this far in now, but still. I'm an animeonly FWIW
>>288545363 This season is fine, except for the lack of stakes. Maribel isn't really doing it for anyone; we're all kind of dreading what's going to happen to her in the next episode. Clayman, at least, put on a good show. Maribel just drank tea and then died.
>>288545420 >This season is fine, except for the lack of stakes. You'll have to wait until next season for actual stakes. Evil Masayuki WILL save the series trust the plan.
>>288544973 At this point he can just Beezlebub almost any threat that emerges against him as a trump card. Anything that won't work on, he probably needs Raphael's help to figure out how to beat it.
>>288544347 So, that masked figure is Kazalim, right? And the central image, with that purple smoke being drawn into the mask, is him awakening as a demon lord through the deaths of the elves?
>>288546379 I miss the little scenes that happened each time he absorbed an ability, and his chatGPT telling him he leveled up his immunities/resistances. Also, I almost forgot Renga existed before this episode.
>>288546472 Kazalim was not a TDL though, otherwise Roy would have been shitcanned easily and Kazalim would probably not have been shitcanned so easily by Leon either. Roy and Kazalim probably went through a more "normal" awakening that would have put them on the level of pseudo-awakened Clayman, maybe even higher, but they were no match against someone who went through the Harvest Festival properly.
You guys haven't even ripped into the worst part of the episode. Instead of Gobta doing cool shadow moves he just pulls out and shoots this gay pathetically sounding little magic pew pew pistol. For being the most goofy character design on the entire show he always got to do a crazy amount of cool moves, but this was a huge disappointment. Maybe if the gun concept and SFX was made by a real gun enjoyer but of course those probably don't exist in the entirety of Japan.
>>288546620 Whose Roy again? I can't remember all these minor Demon Lord characters. I remember Leon was the guy Rimiru wanted to kill for Shizu, until he forgot, but I'm drawing a blank on Roy.
>>288546652 >get a cool new weapon >get a perfect opportunity to use it in a real battle without feeling bad about killing living creatures And you wouldn't use it?
>>288546775 All her schemes failing against Rimiru seems to have taken a toll on her IQ, now her best plan is to dramatically appear in front of him like a Saturday morning cartoon villain.
>>288546787 It is to him. Of course he'd use it at the first opportunity, until the novelty wears off and he realizes it's actually not nearly as strong as just siccing Ranga on people.
i'll be extra generous and omit those pointless stretches of aqueducts in place of bridges in the original city, but this is clayman's land? far too cool for a punk like him, good he died.
>>288545317 yeah mere exposure and SoL are doing heavy lifting here.
>>288546783 We saw a non-Childish side of her back when she fought Carrion, though that might've just been part of her pretending to be under Clayman's control, it still shows Milim is capable of more subdued and serious behavior. And it's pretty scary. I wonder if we'll see her "battle mode" again in this arc. Carrion almost shit a brick when he saw it.
>>288546775 Its like negative aura though. Real aura for a villain like that would be to just observe the whole thing from a distance like the tea-drinking doppelganger guy on Frieren.
>>288546199 >I feel like every single kingdom has a precursor civilization that was at one point wiped out by Milim Based on the lore of the world that's been presented so far in the anime, it seems society gets reset often by either Millim, Angels, or Veldora.
>>288546775 >>288546789 >>288547752 During the interrogation with the redhead Raphael explained that Maribel needs to be close in order to use her skill to put people under control. She doesn't know much about the abilities of rimuru, and she's so insignificant she can't even job properly for rimuru, but her arc is what kicks off the next arc, which gets other demon lords involved.
>>288548396 She just comes across as an uppity little brat. She has no idea how outclassed she is. She's smart and powerful enough to cause mischief for Rimiru, but that's it.
So Gobta is going to stick with the gun from now on? Actually it sounds cool but guns are kinda lame in this setting, they better get him the whole arsenal and a red bandana...
>>288548526 It sort of defeats the purpose of having firearms if they are still just magic weapons. They're supposed to be a way to fight even when anti-magic is deployed.
>gets more powerful with every enemy he absorbs Could Rimuru achieve godhood by just going on a rampaging absorbing everyone he comes across until he's omnipotent? I imagine at a certain point not even Guy or Milim would be able to stop him.
>>288549667 nn? you think there will be any problems left after they're over talking? >>288549952 it's like, dead and with a non existent or corrupted soul. he's not at the level of remaking souls.
>>288546199 its just the same one being mentioned in multiple different contexts. she only destroyed the one kingdom after they lynched her parents and pet honestly they clearly deserved it, and other than that Milim never really did anything harmful on purpose.
>>288550842 Her dad literally made the planet, and he's dead so legally speaking the entire planet belongs to her. No people died, and its her mountain to do with as she pleases.
>>288550964 mm but there're also angels, guy, rudra, ramiris, and that girl who appears at the very end of LNs no? and 4 dragons. she kind of has to be the strongest nigga around to make it hers despite claims to various domains nava made for the various children.
>>288551003 Well, of the strongest beings in existence almost all of them adore her or at least feel a bit protective of her. Plus she's really a good kid at heart, she just needs a few more millennia to grow up.
>>288551264 i mean they were pretty awful, but I can kind of understand their perspective as well. If you found out that instead of answering prayers or protecting people or doing anything useful, god was just shacking up with his big tiddy witch waifu and popping out kids, you might be a bit pissed off too.
>>288551357 Rimiru just goes with the flow. He became the guardian deity of the Goblins 5 minutes after meeting them. So of course he makes plans to go ruin exploring with a woman 5 minutes after meeting her, despite knowing she's the assistant of the man he strongly suspects of being his arch enemy.
why did kazarim made that retard clayman and his frens again? was he bored? couldn't he just make a nice domain for his dark elves that doesn't look like ominous swampy cliffs? >>288551378 bro he literally made the world, let him plow her wife in peace and be happy there is air to breathe and he's too busy to make endless requests of you.
>>288551411 >why did kazarim made that retard clayman and his frens again? clayman, footman, and tear were made from the souls of her former maidservants and knights after the original kingdom fell, Laplace was made from a hero from sarion who was gravely wounded by the chaos dragon
>>288551357 >for some reason. Rimiru is actively pursuing a cultural victory and that requires playing into the image of "Charismatic genius" every step of the way. So his word has to be absolutely binding less he seem flippant and unreliable, and when shit inevitably hits the fan that was just his plan to get to the root of the matter faster.
>>288552011 They all could become demon lords and were made to be as strong as demon lords. kazalim planned on making clayman a demon lord while he was still a demon lord to grow his influence Leon only threw a major wrench into kazalims plans.
Marriabel was reincarnated from what seems to be the 1800s, she isnt even from modern times. Her way of thinking is essentially based off her experience being a wicked person hence why she's so cocky and would assume Glenda was killed by Rimuru. That tells you exactly the sort of person she is and how she thinks.
>>288552650 she is only an LN add-on after all WN Yuuki didn’t even need this pointless camouflage since he openly stayed an asshole through and through
>>288553608 this whole series is based on subverting expectations.it becomes more appearant when you find out theres entire react slop playlists on youtube of people watching this show and going "the elves are going to be ugly like in konosuba" after seeing rimuru imagining what an elf looks like. they think that shizu is going to be a major recurring character or main cast member only for her to die within 3 episodes.
>>288551411 >why did kazarim made that retard clayman Clayman was actually sane and rational until he got mindraped by Michael and friends so they could have a mole inside Guy's friend group
>>288554671 anon, halo, mass effect and a dozen other sci fi had AI assistants way earlier. it's one of the more common tropes overall. and many settings have rogue AI.
So arrogant elves fucked around and found out. The blood and piss girl again. Feels like zombie dragons have been overdone by isekai series. An actual confrontation with period blood and piss girl. Is she going to drown them in her filth? Can he not just unbrainwash the three? I know the sniper girl's soul was resistant to the brainwashing so it was easy to fix her.
>>288556367 >So arrogant elves fucked around and found out. Technically no. It was the first human's spirit that was possessing the king of the elves. He fucked up like this many times, said human was also the absolute brainlet that summoned Rouge and turned his own kingdom into the sacrifice needed for the first true demon lord to be born.
>>288556688 Did the manga get to this part? I don't recall it but after so many meetings for so long in the manga things bleed together. I haven't read the LNs. I have them downloaded just haven't gotten around to it yet.
>>288556721 I don't think it's mentioned in the manga yet no. The brainlet's original human form is in chapter 82 when Guy's awakening is shown, but people probably have no idea just how stubbornly hard to kill he is.
>>288558013 Next arc is a good one, the other anon is right. But everyone knows that the best action-based arcs are the ones where rimuru actually gets pissed off. Though a town-building/nation-building arc is usually pretty good.
>>288552061 >Leon only threw a major wrench into kazalims plans. The only one who threw a "wrench into Kazalim's plans" was none other than Kazalim. Leon just said "hello world, I guess I am a demon lord now" and Kazalim took that personally for some reason and then committed "assisted suicide" by attacking Leon for no good reason.
>>288561686 there is no elmesia in the dungeon, whereas there is elmesia in meeting and festival episodes. and on vacation. this alone proves dungeon arcs are trash tier.
>>288564632 Raphael nerfs Rimuru a lot. If he wasn't so reliant on her he'd be more competent even in his "default" state, though it would come at the cost of him not being able to be so carefree and bond so freely with his companions. He might turn into another Milim at best, or his evil "Forsaken Future" self at worst.
>>288561012 >holy church upcoming holy church has some nice anti-communism takes. >western council funny antics with demons and meetings both are good arcs
>>288544312 Imagine how funny it'd be if she just got domed like a Xenomorph does with its inner jaw by Rimuru's slime tentacles/protrusions/spears the moment she finished saying that kek
>Rimuru >Veldora (can be summoned by Rimuru at any time and location) >Milim >Shion Well, I don't know what kind of powerful trap they'd have to set to take them out
>>288584144 she lost the moment her identity got known tbqh you could argue that she still had some chance at something but the moment she stepped out in the open sealed her fate. piss blood loli correction soon, fellow meetingenjoyer
>>288584598 I think she honestly doesn't understand the threat they pose. She's likely only ever heard rumors, or legends, about their strength, but either assumes they're exaggerated or just made up. She has no idea Milim could nuke her capital city in minutes if she wanted to, and Veldora could transform her entire country into a wasteland in a matter of hours.
>>288584598 >She knows how strong Milim and Veldora are, right? How would she? There's a weird narrative brainrot happening in a lot of fiction that people got used to and take for granted wherein people with superpowers "just know" how strong someone else with superpowers is despite never being shown to have any such power to detect the abilities of others. Tensura explicitly doesn't do that. Characters only know about the abilities of those of whom they actually gained the intel about. In addition Tensura also does the same with information in general. There is no plot convenient "knowledge synchronization" where somehow all major characters learn what the audience has been shown so "everyone is on the same page", instead characters only know what they would logically know about and Tensura is much better for it.
>>288585705 She just seems to be a very informed person. She has a network of spies and informants, and furthermore Granville is a native of that world and surely must know how dangerous the dragons are.
>>288585775 Sally-Anne is mostly about the autistic part of the audience. What I call "brainrot" here is about the authors already doing it on their own.
>>288585705 Rimuru has explicitly gone to lengths to conceal his strength, but the likes of Veldora and Milim should be well known for how strong they are. Milim has historically gone on rampages so that should be a matter of historical fact. And Veldora is a living calamity. As far as she knows Rimuru could just be a stronger than average slime but nothing too strong, but she should be 100% aware of the dangers Milim and VEldora pose.
>>288588121 It wouldn't. Her ability would make her a super valuable underline to a mega powerful demon lord and the like, but this world operates by fundamentally different rules than Earth. The schemers and manipulators run into a dragon-shaped wall that they ultimately cannot get over. You need might to stand at the top.
>>288584673 Mariabell probably thinks she’s only jumping Rimuru and a few weaker subordinates, while still underrating Rimuru himself because he hides his powerlevel. She probably doesn’t even know Rimuru has two walking disaster buttons attached to him: Milim, who might be tagging along, and Veldora, whom he can basically call in whenever. If she does know and still thinks this ambush is a good idea, then she’s not just underestimating Rimuru, she’s terminally stupid. If that fight actually breaks out underground, the weaker people there need to be evacuated or shielded immediately. Magicule surges, aura leakage, shockwaves, or collateral damage could kill them before they even understand what’s happening. Shion might be the only one who can stay and maybe contribute; everyone else should get out.
>>288588177 Demon lord or the other powerful and smart ruler. But NOT engaging into close range combat. It's like throwing elite cyber warfare specialist into combat as a poorly trained infantry
>>288588394 couldn't he tell his gang to say, 'stand right at the entrance to the gazebo in the palace garden', and reverse teleport them to himself? if he can teleport anywhere he knows about, why not the reverse? open some inert spacial link, but activate it on the other side.
>>288588394 Shion's reality-warping abilities make her a wildcard even in super high tier battles. Raphael-sensei even warned Rimiru that Shion is a potential threat to him.
>>288588394 Yet she underestimates both. Not only she but even Granbell due to his excessive (and by this point also twisted) trust in Luminous who outwardly expresses confidence in keeping Veldora in check causes them to underestimate Veldora a bit. In reality Veldora was usually just "playing around" most of the time and not actually deliberately seeking destruction. If he did, Luminous would have nothing she could do other than hope that Guy jumps in as the world's janny to stop him eventually. With Milim the issue is that when she sealed the Chaos Dragon, they assumed that she is only roughly equal to it and maybe even needed Guy's/Ramiris' help, when in reality she could wipe it out easily but didn't do so only because of her emotional attachment to it. Mariabell failed to take Milim's feelings into account and so thinks that they are equal in power so the is under the delusion that if she manages to quickly take control (or at worst dispose of) Rimuru, then they can all gang up on Milim and take her down together with the Chaos Dragon under her control.
>>288588464 It's hard to stand at the top in this setting if you're not the Ass-Kicker In Chief. We've seen time and again what happens if pretenders and manipulators get called out at the high level.
>>288588779 Milim has completely obliterated two capital cities, one of them very recently, how many fucking cities does she have to Drago Nova off the face of the planet before people learn that messing with her is a really really bad idea?
>>288588779 That one who actually (BANNED) Veldora was Shizu's teacher. And if Rimuru didn't get him of the jail, he would have died there. Maybe long rotting in that prison plus befriending Rimuru made him more mature.
>>288588938 >And if Rimuru didn't get him of the jail, he would have died there. He would just respawn eventually. I dunno if the new Storm Dragon would have his memories and personality, but a Storm Dragon would eventually coalesce. True Dragons are natural disasters with an ego.
>>288588969 You just know there's going to be a big meeting going over this whole affair once it's over. This is the build up to the real climax (the debriefing).
>>288588779 also, how does veldora say rimuru could stalemate him, when 1. he sparred with base form milim during walp 2. base form milim threw instant death punches rimuru said he could only dodge to survive. it should follow that milim is a lot stronger than veldora and just playing around, and that veldora probably also has instant death punches on rimuru that he could clear with, so he's stronger.
>>288588869 Even semi-awakened demon lords like Kazalim and Roy could destroy multiple towns as part of mere "collateral damage" so evaluating an actual Catastrophe at a True Dragon tier based on just the level of cities is simply unreliable. Even in-between these tiers you have the hypothetical that if Leon and the yellow primordial "Jaune" were to have an all-out fight it would eventually lead to "Jaune" losing and being reincarnated in Hell, but the fall-out from the fight alone would be enough to sink an entire Australia-sized continent and that is merely the "True Awakened-tier with Ultimate Skill" of Leon. The True Dragon-tier of Veldora/Milim fighting each other would cause "collateral damage" that would be enough to destroy the whole world if they went all-out, if it wasn't for the Central World being especially robust, the World Tree keeping it additionally stabilized, and other "part-time jannies" True Dragon-tiers creating barriers to keep such battles contained, like how when Guy and Ramiris fought Milim to calm her down after Milim's Baby Dragon got killed and turned into the Chaos Dragon.
>>288589161 clayman powered him up somewhat, hinata powered his skill quality considerably, but i do think it's nothing compared to pre and post awakening where he jumped in mana 10 times.
>>288559874 Who knows. Yuuki's just a retard. Typa nigga to stab someone who's being kind to him the back. It's malpractice he's allowed to even stay living lol
>>288589015 >also, how does veldora say rimuru could stalemate him, when 1. he sparred with base form milim during walp 2. base form milim threw instant death punches rimuru said he could only dodge to survive. Yes, Milim is stronger than Veldora, especially at this point of the story. Milim is one of the strongest beings in the franchise. But no, Rimuru really can fight Veldora to a stalemate as Veldora admits in the Vacation spin-off. Rimuru is an unreliable narrator who constantly underestimates himself. But he can be quite scary, cruel and even a bit yandere-ish, when taking things seriously.
I really don't like Yuuki. That smug child acts smarter than he actually is. Like anon said, he should just chill and read manga. Let papa Rimuru live his fantasy and do everything.
>>288589596 It'd be fine if he was an actual decent villain, but he's not. So he just comes off as an annoying pos. That one "friend" who actually doesn't give a shit about you at all and makes problems at every turn
it would be interesting if the empire's thing was vast tech superiority, it switched places with ingrasia and the lot there up until dagruel's domain, while an eastern council existed in the far east. luminous' religion would then get a slightly different flavor, while the east had a full blown cult of angels and light, pressuring everyone to stay in medieval stasis, with ruling bodies of a pantheon of openly tech-hoarding angels like in sora no otoshimono as a counterbalance to guy's team, and a normal council but of richer countries for everyday governance. an evil despot could then take over the angels with michael like normal.
>>288550160 >Could Rimuru achieve godhood by just going on a rampaging absorbing everyone he comes across until he's omnipotent? myth Zeus did that once so It's not exactly a new idea >>288580606 >Was this shot really necessary? yes
>>288589015 Veldora is at the top of the chart in terms how many magicules he has, but he's just not that serious of a fighter. He's not very creative, or even particularly aggressive outside of playful roughhousing.
Rimiru, though, is dangerous because of his broken / highly diverse skill set, which is also backed up by a tremendous amount of magicules, enough that even if he's not in the same league as Veldora or Milim, he's at least able to contend with them. You put that level of power with his own isekaijin knowledge + Raphael to cobble together new skills and spells for him on the fly, and Veldora probably would lose to Rimiru if they fought seriously.
Milim, though, has a nuclear option that I don't think Rimiru can deal with, even with Beezlebub.
