My opinion of Laxus was a roller coaster during the beginning of the series, when he was first introduced I thought he was interesting for being such a bastard in a guild of generally good people, then I disliked him when he ditched the guild and didn't help with Phantom Lord while Mystogan singlehandedly cleaned up the 80+ guild branches
then he kicked the shit out of Gajeel who, at the time, I hated more than him, and I liked him for that
then there was the whole Battle for Fairy Tail thing which made my opinion of him nosedive even though I still thought he had cool powers though I did like the reveal of his motivation and Fairy Law failing plus his reaction to the parade was nice
then I was unironically hyped when he showed up to help kick Hades' ass on Tenrou Island after he had disappeard for several dozen episodes
I get the feeling this was probably Mashima's intention but I'm curious how you guys felt

Similar, but I especially came around to him during GMG. I know he was always part of the guild until he got exiled but so often a former antagonist gets neutered when they genuinely join the good guys, but in GMG he took out an entire guild by himself then took down a Wizard Saint. I like that he remained a force of nature.

Especially when they almost confess and then backpedal, or spend 400+ chapters misunderstanding and incapable of spitting it out or with the guy being an utter fucking loser. GMG was the most fun I had with the series, especially the part before the Natsu vs twin dragons fight. All the theories, speculation and hype for the tournament are some of the fondest memories I have of FT, following the manga week after week with all the matches, character interactions and behind-the-scenes conspiracy was so really fun. No arc after that was that fun to follow afterwards with the exception of Tartaros.
