funny how they mocked traditional battle shonen endings just to have that with a pretty average villain with 0 connection to the main themes except him being Shoyo. also not enough Zura

Yeah the ending may have a little more traditionally shonen but overall the experience was great. The funny bits are hilarious, the sad bits are heartbreaking and when it gets serious, it's nailbiting. That first glimpse of action when Hijikata challenges Gintoki will forever be imprinted in my mind and when Benizakura hit, it was so blindingly epic. And it had amazing openings and endings. Also some of the best cast of characters I've ever seen, I absolutely love how they all interact with eachother. It is, and it will remain, my favourite anime of all time.
