I want to do big ambitious projects, but I keep learning the hard way that the more effort I put in, the more disappointed I end up. I myself am an instiable perfectionist, and the people around me don't give a shit about the things I work on. The end result is that everything I experience just discourages me and makes me feel more worthless than before I even tried

Well that does not sound right. You should believe in what it is that you do and screw the rest of them if they don’t like it. Why all the ambition if you are going to let obstacles get in your way?

If you have to do these things to the point that you’re willing to ruin your life and suffer endlessly for them without a second thought and no self pity you will. Otherwise it’s best to live a normal life. Your perfectionism is your gift when it comes to creating things, but reaching the point where it’s an advantage is the part that determines whether you get to use it.

im the same way and it really is hard. first off, it is good to be ambitious. that is the key quality. also, learn to love the process more than the result. dont base your worth off of arbitrary public opinion. flow state feels amazing when you get zoned into what you do. lastly, get really focused on the projects. sometimes i want to do too many things then dont make substancial progress on any. remember to also set smaller goals you know you can hit if you work on big projects

prestige mostly. I got mistreated by my peers as a kid then ended up in special ed despite *allgedely* having a high IQ. Since then I've alternated between genius and retard based on how many people are stoking my ego. The fact is, I'm not really sure who I am.
