Watching Horimiya reminded me that I will likely not get to experience pure and genuine love with a girl. I might get a girlfriend sometime, but now that I'm older than 18, an age in which the adolescent naivety begins to dissipate, and not long after is gone without letting traces in human's personalities (particularly in a metropolitan environment such as the one I live in), an anime-like relationship is very unlikely.

Romance was my favorite genre in anime as a 13 and 14-year-old kid because it let me dream with being emotionally intimate with a girl. As I age, this hope diminishes, and knowing that even if I were intimate with a girl, it wouldn't be that special, further depresses me. Really sad.
