Is there anywhere in the US I can buy a few acres of completely unusable forested land for dirt cheap?
Every listing for "undeveloped land" is just single-home plots in unbuilt subdivisions. I want something that will never be suitable for building on completely wild, impassible terrain. Like a forgotten inaccessible corner of some failed 19th-century mining claim that's worth pennies because it'll never be possible to develop.

no, conglomerates caught onto this trick 30 years ago and own 99% of rural lands now to keep the squeeze on us

You can get very inexpensive mining claims. I assume you could camp there if you wanted, but I'm not entirely sure what the deal is or how long you have rights to your claim.

Problem is, you usually need to attempt to mine a mining claim or else the government can repossess the land

I love how rightoids go on and on about the sanctity of living in nature but they will sell it all out at the drop of a hat when they discover a company will buy it on the cheap.

The problem you're having is that you're looking for a small lot in the middle of nowhere. That's not a thing. Finding land in the middle of nowhere is easy, but it won't be in small parcels.

Just buy the whole claim anon.

You're looking wrong. "Undeveloped land" implies it can be developed to those that want to develop it. You will probably do better looking for "hunting land" or "acreage."

Anything cheap will be inaccessible, likely surrounded by landowners who will deny you access. If there are roads it will not be that cheap.

The thing with 'worthless' land is that its worth something to someone and holding costs are low, so it rarely comes up for sale.

not true at the county level for what it's worth, and penobscot county leans red and has voted as such the last three presidential elections :^)

yeah thats worth nothing, it doesnt matter if your county is red, if your state votes blue, youre fucked if youre on the other side, because democracy doesnt promote comprise, only mob rule
