i don’t really have a profession. family set me up with a landscaping company to “run” so i’ve got an office and i pop in when i feel like it, joke around, sign off on payroll, then disappear again.

chat with the front desk, flirt a bit, take long lunches, let the crew handle the actual work while i sit in the ac. they’ve got el baño out back with the el porto potty-o, i’ve got mine inside.

most of my income is just from the portfolio anyway, so the company’s basically a hobby i don’t even need.

lawn care season’s ramping up now so i had to “tighten operations” a bit. rolled out a policy that everyone needs to show proof of vaccination before getting put back on the schedule. easy to enforce when you’ve got corporate/regulatory cover.

not really about the policy, it just gives me a clean filter on who comes back for the busy season. keep the crew smaller, less noise, better margins.

if they want hours they’ll sort it out. if not, plenty of other browns who will.
