If you intend to hold a stock and are watching it closely, do you also swing it?
For example with SNDK and MU this week, I knew it would dip after such massive green days and I was tempted to lock in some profit. However, I believe these stocks will continue to go up. I'm afraid of selling and trying to buy a dip, even though I am fairly aware of this pattern of profit taking by now.
I just don't think it is worth the trouble and taxes if I intend to hold it. And I worry I will end up with less scares. We see higher lows each time.

Between inflation and population growth, there's no reason for the stock market to be ever be bearish besides for short periods (Covid, Ukraine war start, Iran war start and so on). At this point, so many people are invested in the stock market, either by directly owning shares, ETFs, or by their pensions / 401ks / IRAs and so forth. The stock market is an expression of the economy.
When the country ceases to have growth in GDP, it makes sense to have a bear market. But the US has consistently excellent GDP growth for a while now

I reacted to the possibility of losing all my ralised gains (correctly, might I add as my holdings continued dumping and I would have gone from +15% to -5%) with the intent of catching the upwards rise once the war was over.
I didn't expect the market to rocket upwards to an ATH while the war is still going on. Complete fucking insanity.
>>
>>62117631
It's not irrational. You just don't understand it. Most of all the market punishes uncertainty. That uncertainty is now lower. Supply chains themselves can handle a bit less oil floating around. We had an oil glut.

Evolutionarily speaking humans have hard time understanding exponential growth.
Imagine a bottle with 1 bacteria in it that divides into 2 every minute. You watch that bottle fill up from market open to market close time. When was it at 50% mark? That's right, 1 minute before closing because that's when all bacteria divided into 2. When was 3% of the bottle filled? 5 minutes before market close.

>OIL
Still can't fill in the gap if missing oil barrels though even though it increased slightly lol
you cant just magically make more oil storage facilities and ports. Takes 3 years at best , 7 years for a realistic timeline of construction.
short term gains for the USA, this kicks the can down the road for maybe a month or two, and long term everybody is still fucked
not even an oil fag btw, im more into miners and boomer rocks, when oil inflate prices on everything to hell, boomer rocks are the first to recover and win in the end.
Look at copper right now, its mooning because the chemicals required from nat gas and oil are not coming, so pure copper is more valuable, silver is a by product of copper. So Silver, and gold will have its all time highs again by end of the year, maybe for a lot longer cause of the insane inflation oil is going to cause.

This sucks
Because the stock market was crashing, I decided it was a good time for me to start trading.
But I couldn't just begin trading immediately. I had to wait for funds to reach my account
Anyway, the day before I could start trading, the market hit bottom. And I really wanted to buy then. By the time my funds were ready to trade, the market had like a 5+% bounce. But even still, I bought in with 25% of my cash, like 5% off bottom. I was hoping for a pullback again so I could put in the rest of my longs
but it's been nothing but fucking big green lines. And I'm not going to fomo into buying ATHs
If I had been able to do what I wanted, I'd be up like 50% now.
I was literally there, watching the intraday day bottom of the bottom day wishing I had my funds available. I would have bought almost the exact bottom before the market closed higher that day.

Both sides wanted to deescalate from day 1. They just have different demands on what terms it should happen so the conflict goes on. Same in Ukraine-Russia. Both wars would end instantly if Russia left or the US left, they just don't because they're there for a reason.
