Crypto has always been pretty useless. Turns out a decentralized ledger is good at being a decentralized ledger, and Bitcoin did that fine. If you need stronger privacy, there’s Monero. In every other case crypto is being used in right now, there are more elegant solutions that have been implemented to solve the same problem. The mask came off somewhere between the 2017 and 2021 bullruns, when the focus of the meta shifted from “utility tokens” that people pretended had a real life use case, to “tokenomics,” memes and hype.
There will never be another Bitcoin moment in this space again. Bitcoin already happened, the next 100x is waiting in a different market.
