Rent vs. Buy is a question of your skills + the job market + your personality traits + your IQ + your family dynamics + the housing/rental market in your area.

Every single asset class is in a huge bubble now and will eventually burst, but housing is illiquid so it can weather the storm better. Also you are delusional to think renters will have dry powder at the bottom. Retail is not hoarding cash because of inflation.
